Keynote 6.1 auto scales down some images?

I updated to 6.1 and i noticed when importing images some images get scaled down and some don't. When I try to make the small ones larger off course they aren't as sharp as they were.
Dragging them in from the desktop or using the insert function makes no difference.
I'm stuck with this. Any help?

This is a known problem in version 6.1, hopefully this will be sorted with one of the promised updates during the fist half of 2014.

  • Cloud service auto scale delay

    Hi team,
We have a cloud service that have 10 worker roles,  to let the cloud service can auto scale up/down, we configure the autoscale settings that if the average CPU reaches 70% and keeps last 30 minutes, new worker role instance will be created.
We also configure a email notification monitor that if the worker role average CPU reach 75% and keeps last 30 minute it will send a notification to our administrator, we receivce the notification at 2015/1/26 0:55 and 1 hour later the instances ware scaled
up, is that means  the autoscale have been delayed about 1 hour , is there some best practise that avoid this kind of problem and let the instances can be scaled up immeditatly
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Please have a look at this article:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cloud-services-how-to-scale/, here is a snippet.
All instances are included when calculating the average percentage of CPU usage and the average is based on use over the previous hour. Depending on the number of instances that your application is using, it can take longer than the specified wait time
for the scale action to occur if the wait time is set very low. The minimum time between scaling actions is five minutes. Scaling actions cannot occur if any of the instances are in a transitioning state.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cocoa text auto-scale?

Is there a way to get a text label or similar object to auto-scale with the container window? That is, as the window grows, I want the text size to grow to fill all available space without clipping, and to shrink back down again as the window shrinks. I'm sure I could do some sort of calculation based on font metrics and the displayed string to figure out the best size based on the window, and then somehow tie that into when the user resizes the window, but is there a better/easier method? Thanks.

    RayNewbie wrote:
I would register for the [NSWindowDidResizeNotification|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Application Kit/Classes/NSWindowClass/Reference/Reference.html#//appleref/doc/uid/20000013-BCIIHIHC], which is posted continuously as the window is resized.
This seems to work perfectly to get the visual result, and is precisely what I was thinking of. Thanks.
    RayNewbie wrote:
In any case, this Wil Shipley blog might be of interest to you. Note the example code seems to be manually calculating the point size: [Pimp My Code, Part 6: The Pimp Before Christmas|http://www.wilshipley.com/blog/2005/12/pimp-my-code-part-6-pimp-before.html].
Definitely helpful, primarily in that their method of calculating the font size is noticeably more efficient than what I had come up with. Still inefficient though- processor usage spikes to around 50% on my mac mini 2.0 core2duo machine when resizing the window. I suppose it might not be too big a deal, but I'd hate to see window resizing lag on slower or more heavily loaded machines. I'm not sure there's much choice when doing a live resize, however- waiting to resize the text until the window resize is completed would look horrible.
    Hope that helps!

  • Some images won't load in Safari, iTunes, iBooks and App Store

Since my upgrade to Mavericks, some images on Safari, iTunes, iBooks and App Store wont load some times. I can't figure out the source of problem, but I've tested all four apps and the same problem exists across all of them; I've also tested Chrome, Firefox and Opera to see if they are suffering from the same problem, and surprisingly enough I've found that they are not; They load images perfectly well, and I've never encountered one to not load images. I'm totally confused and frustrated, what is preventing Apple products to load images? Here are some screenshots:

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items.  Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.

  • I am planning to send some images to Alamy they need them as 24MB images how do I know when they are

Good morning I have submitted some images to Alamy and they like them, which is a great start, they need a Jpeg file size of over 24MB when uncompressed. Opening a JPG in an image program such as Adobe Photoshop will show you the uncompressed (open) file size, I have no idea how to proceed can you help please, many thanks
    Kind regards
    Sheila

    Hi Sheila
A 24Mb JPG is a bit of a strange thing to ask for, but image size, vs resolution vs dpi vs size on disk vs size when open in Photoshop, is something that seems to cause more confusion than almost any other subject on this forum, and at my camera club, and I dare say, in the editorial office at Alamy - or at least at the desk of their new trainee who is doing work experience while waiting to go to uni.
I had not heard of Alamy, but they were easy to find, and as you'd expect, they have a page with guide lines on how to submit images
    http://www.alamy.com/contributor/help/prepare-images.asp
Bottom line is to give them full resolution high quality JPGs (10 or more).  They just say RGB, so play safe and make it sRGB.
BTW  I had to laugh at the arbitrary way they list 'unsuitable' cameras.
    http://www.alamy.com/contributor/help/unsuitable-camera-list.asp?cname=Canon
    And nothing about iPhones!
BTW  This answer has sat waiting in a Word document after the site went down just as I was in the process of posting it.  Nice to see it back on line, but now I have to gou for the evening.

    Hi all
I want to appear an ImageIcon on my JButton
Some images are appeared on the button when run the code,
but some images are not and the button appeared as a default
    button why ?
the problem in my code in this statement
JButton   merc = new JButton (new ImageIcon(" door.jpg " ));Thanks in advance.

I suggest that you break down your statements even further to see where the problem is.
So if this the problem is on this line:
JButton   merc = new JButton (new ImageIcon("door.jpg" )); //string corrected?try to break it up a bit like so:
    JButton merc = new JButton();
    File imageFile = new File("door.jpg");
    if (imageFile.exists())
       ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(imageFile);
       if (icon != null)
          merc.setIcon(icon);

  • Design right alignings and scales down when viewed on ipad

    Hi,
I have a centered design web portfolio which works fine on all systems except Ipads. On an Ipad the home page right alighs and scales down when it should be centered. This only happenes on the home page, the other pages are cented and the correct size.
    http://steveharjula.com/index.html
    http://steveharjula.com/cat-house-identity.html
    Help is appreciated.

On the web, less is defintely more.
First main image is 1,009.38 KB (1,033,604 bytes) in file size.
Nobody wants to download a 1MB image if they don't need to.  Especially people on mobile devices who may be paying through the nose for bandwidth.
I would suggest limiting yourself to 6-9 thumbnail size images per page and optimizing them in PShop with Save for Web properties.   You'll need to sacrifice a bit on quality to keep file size to a minimum.  I like to keep thumbnails around 20KB and full size images under 100KB.
You could then deploy a modal window viewer like Fancybox to display larger images on click/touch.

  • I blocked some images from myspace by mistake. How can I unblock them?

I play a my space app called Hotties For Sale. I inadvertently blocked some images from the app. This includes operating buttons and some photos. The only info I can find is "Block images from x.myspacecdn.co... How do I get these images back? Can you help please?

With myspace on display, click on the site identity button (for details on what that is see the [[site identity button]] article) and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see [[Images or animations do not show]].
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images.

I've got a problem with some images that do not showing up in Nokia browser. This is a major problem that randomly occurs with different Nokia handsets.

If you open the page in PC browser, you'll see "border" image, but if it's opened on Nokia 5630  (or E71, N95) page is blank.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.  I'm using a new Wordpress theme that is meant to be responsive.  The large image is for a header, than you scroll down to see the rest, one by one.  Some one the pages work OK on my iPad, typically the old ones where the maximum image size was 500 x 500.  It's the new pages and those I've updated that are causing the problem.  On the iPad the large image loads, then a couple of the small ones become visible as I scroll down, but then darkness (rather like my knowledge level).
Being new to IOS and iPads, I'm trying to work out whether I should be looking here, or amongst the Wordpress stuff for a solution.
Here's the website with its new theme: http://www.new-zealand-pictures.com/

  • Scale batch of images - can I do it ?

    Hello gentlemen,
I have about 40 images that I've imported into the timeline in PP.
Is there a way to scale all the images down at one time ?
I'd like to scale all of them down about 60% or so.
Thanks for a any info, and your time,
    Dave.

    Hi Harm,
Ok I did what you suggested, and it works ( somewhat ), something is strange though.
I scaled the nested sequence down to 60% but instead of the images actually scaling "un-zooming" so I can see them, the whole series of images is scaling, but as in just getting smaller within the rendering window area. So I don't actually see the whole image like I wish to see, - scaling the sequence just makes the series of images smaller on the screen . ( example - in one image, I see the person's arm, where the full image shows the whole person ).
If I go and scale the image alone, the image becomes "unzoomed" and I can see the whole person, but in the sequence, the whole "zoomed" image just becomes smaller in the rendering window area.
    Dave.
Off to try CWrig's suggesion now,, but why is your suggestion not working for me ?

  • In my iPhoto library, only some images appear as thumbnails.  The rest are blank but appear briefly when scrolling through or properly when double clicked.  Any ideas?

In my iPhoto library, only some images appear as thumbnails.  The rest are blank but appear briefly when scrolling through or properly when double clicked.  Any ideas?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Photoshop CC Phototomerge - "Some images could not be automatically aligned"

    Hi,
Whenever I try to use Photomerge from Photoshop CC under Windows 8.1, I always get "Some images could not be automatically aligned". Under Mac OS X, it works ok with exactly the same images.
I've also recently upgraded to Photoshop CC 2014, but the issue remains.
The solution I've found online was to reset the settings, but it didn't have any effect.
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you

    Hi Anna
I must admit I’ve not tried with so many images but it could be a memory (RAM) issue. Have you tried combining images 1 to 9 and then 10 to 18. Then try joining the two saved pano images into one.
Or you could try creating a blank template:
File >> New >> Blank File
Choose the overall width and height, together with resolution then drag and drop the two saved images on to the canvas. Drag each into position and use the corner handles to scale and merge. If necessary use masking with the brush tool.

  • Acrobat 11.0.09  (Mac) scales down everything larger than A4

Acrobat 11.0.09  (Mac) scales down everything larger than A4 when printing to print area (inside to printable area - XEROX 7760),  scaling is set to none, print is set to actual size.
I.e. printing A3 on SRA3 scales the content to the printable area, so the A3 is not actually A3, but a bit smaller.
Printing from Indesign/Illustrator is no problem, also printing from PC is perfect.
Am I missing something? Some hidden scale (or  "fit to page") option/setting?
    Thank you.

Hi, thank you for reply. Everything is set to no scale or 100%.. but still downscaling to fit..
So we try to print i.e. A3 poster with cropmarks etc on SRA3 paper:
Printer set to correct page size, correct tray.
    In Acrobat print dialog:
Page sizing & handling - Actual size
(or we try also tried to check custom scale - 100%)
    Under "Page Setup..." button:
    Paper size - SRA3
    Scale - 100%
    Under "Printer..." button:
Paper Handling - unchecked Scale to fit paper size etc..
I've clicked through everything, dont know where else..
And it is probably Acrobat Mac problem, other apps (Indd/Ai) prints correctly, also on PC it is okay.
smaller formats up to A4 also prints ok..
