Keynote 6.5 Update

I am running 10.10.1 and keynote 6.2.2 it keeps popping up saying there is an update available I go to the apple store and it says it has already downloaded? when it hasn't
Does anyone have a work around for this?

I'm sorry but you are incorrect Gary. Keynote 6.5 is not stable
I have no doubt you are experiencing problems with Keynote on your system, I have not suggested in any way that you are not experiencing difficulty on your machine, I know that situation all too well. However to propose that every user of Keynote is unable to use the software based only on your experience today is overstating the case. If you want to see fit and healthy people, don't visit a hospital, if you want rational advice from experienced users about Keynote; ask away here.

If you provide specific signs and symptoms of the issue you are experiencing, I am sure we will be able to offer constructive advice.
I honestly do not think it is fair or good business practice to tell me I have to go BUY/PAY for iWorks on Ebay or Amazon

What is it that is unfair to provide you with three known working options to enable a re-install of Keynote? With the very limited details of your system I think I provided a good informed reply.
As you did not provide any basic system information we are having to guess what your system spec is. There are numerous combinations of software that would be possible. We need to know:
the version of Keynote you were using successfully previously to 6.5
the version of Mac operating system you had previous to Yosemite
the Mac model and spec you are using
because your "update" is not working correctly.
All of us who post in this discussion are end users who have to buy software we use, we are not Apple employees and therefore we do not have any kind of ownership or direct influence on Apple software. If you want to speak to Apple, phone Apple Support, the number is available from the main support page.
If you want advice from experienced users, post back with specific questions.
Have you looked at the latest reviews on the Keynote app in the app store?
I have just looked at the App Store voting which shows a 4.5 out or 5 rating. However to me this is meaningless as I have no idea how many responses there are. More importantly I go with what my own experience and what my clients and colleagues have experienced.
Obviously it is NOT working correctly. It needs to be fixed.
Again, please explain what is not working for you, I am sure the discussion community can help.

When you updated, the old version remained on your Mac, in a subfolder within Applications named iWork '09. Any icons you have on the Dock still point to that old version. Try opening the Numbers that is located in your main Applications folder, not the one in the subfolder. If that works, then drag that one to the Dock.

Multiple Keynote problems after update

Problem #1: Extended delays, program not responded. Dozens of force quits today. Hours of wasted time looking at a beach ball.
Problem #2: Images in presentation have been substituted for other images on different slides. THe preview thumbnail looks correct, but the actual slide is not correct. Tried copy/paste correct image and keynote swaps out automatically. Only fix is to copy the image (I don't have all originals) to word, save as picture and then reinsert. THis is not a good solution as we do these professionally. Our business model is based on reproducing a template and customizing. We can't be going to each of 50 slides and putting in the actual original photo. Has to be a nice, clean duplication process like before. I even have one slide that removed the photo and instead took a text box and substituted that as the photo. THe text box is now an image and you can't edit the text. What the **** is that about??? And the issues are so random. One minute a slide is fine, the next it is all screwed up.
Problem #3: Video functionality. Well, of course all our presentations have videos. And again, it's a duplicate of a master presentation. So, if manually adding the original video file is the only workaround, that won't cut it.
Problem #4. Simply can't open a keynote file. We have one presentation made by my staff memeber. It opens on his computer. He saves it to the shared drive like we always do. I can't open the file. Won't tell me why. Just says it can't open. Same version. System crashes. He resaved once and finally It opens, but about 1/3 of the slides are corrupted with gray boxes and x's on the images and text. I am now OVERDUE on my deliverable deadline for this client and it makes me look really bad. I never miss deadlines!!!
I tried using Keynote '09, but unfortunately all my new projects have been modified in the new version and now I can't open them in '09.
Creating presentations is my livelyhood. Keynote is my medium. It needs to work. PLEASE!!!

I found a solutions.
After cancelling my presentation I continued to look for a way to open my files. If you open by selecting the file and clicking it will open with the Mavericks update to Keynote. However, under 'Open With' you can choose the older version of Keynote. Or, if you go to the Applications folder you can find Keynote there.

Is there a way to create a calendar for keynote that automatically updates to current month?

I use keynote presentations for teaching foreign languages and wanted a calendar that updates automatically to current month everytime I present it rather than making it manually each month. I'm wondering if it can be done using the keynote date/time functions? Thank you.

Creating a whole interactive calendar for a month in a table could be done I suppose, but it's an awful lot of work for something that might be solved more easily in other ways.
IF you have a constant internet connection when you're teaching, create a Hyperlink on a blank Keynote slide to a web calendar, such as Google Calendar (or perhaps a school district calendar?) and enable it in the slide with Inspector, Hyperlink (blue circle with arrow icon 2nd from the right).
If you don't have web access on your teaching computer while you're teaching, I'd still probably capture a screenshot of the each monthly calendar and use that, updating to the current slide once a month. If you're usually too busy to remember to capture a new calendar on the first of the month, create a whole year of screen captured calendars at one time, add them to separate Keynote slides, and then just 'Skip Slide' all the months you aren't using. Not cool and interactive, but it would solve the problem. You might want to rename the screen captures to the month name before adding them as slides for ease of locating them later.
Since you're teaching foreign languages, in my sample below, I changed my default Google Calendar language to German. (Unfortunately, I left US Holidays enabled, so they aren't 'auf Deutsch', but you get the idea.) Understand that when you switch language in Google Calendar (or other Google app), it will switch ALL of your Google screens to that language, so be sure you remember which 'buttons' to push to change it back to English later!
Bring up your calendar onscreen in your browser and use Command+Shift+3 to capture the whole screen or Command+Shift+4 to capture just a portion of the screen. Once saved, insert the saved calendar into a Keynote slide.
Now, if that's more than you need, if you just want to display the date information in English as current weekday name, monthname, date number, and year, that's pretty simple.
Use the now() or today() function, you can create a simple table and add the following functions in separate cells, beginning each cell entry with the = sign (so the table 'knows' it's a function, and not just text:
=DAYNAME(NOW())
=MONTHNAME(MONTH(NOW()))
=DAY(NOW())
=YEAR(NOW())
And it displays like this on a slide:

How do I create a chart in Keynote that auto-updates from data in Numbers?

Hello all! So, there are lots of answer to this for iWork'09, but I haven't found them for the current version of Work.
What I'd like to do is take data from Numbers and create a chart in Keynote that would then auto-update if I edited the data in Numbers. Put another way, the Keynote chart data would 'live' in Numbers - every time I edit the Numbers data, I'd like those changes to reflect in Keynote. Any thoughts on how to do this outside of always cutting and pasting from Numbers to Keynote?

Keynote file i updated yesterday won't open

I'm feeling nauseous. I updated a very large file that i've been working on for years yesterday. Upgraded it to new keynote. Now....it won't open. At all. Just says "can't be opened". I tried keynote 09, new keynote. Tried dragging into new keynote icon on deck.
OMG. I've only had problems with this new effing keynote. I didn't even question that it would corrupt all of my content.

Use Keynote version 5 to open edit and play version 5 presentations.
Only use Keynote version 6 for new presentations.

Pages, Numbers and Keynote will not update via app store

App Store tells me there are updates for Pages (5.2.2), Numbers (3.2.2) and Keynote (6.2.2) but when I click on the Update button there is a little swirly in the top left hand corner near the maximise/minimise buttons but then nothing happens.
I successfully applied the updates to OSX (10.9.5), Safari (7.1) and ITunes (11.4) today so there is no issue with connecting to the App Store.
Mac Mini (late 2009), 2.53 Ghz processor, 4GB ram

Keynote document stuck 'updating' in iCloud

Summary
A keynote file on iCloud.com displays "updating..." when clicked on, and is unavailable for download. The same document will also not download to iOS5 devices.
Background
At the time I upgraded my iPad to iOS5 I had a 20mb Keynote presentation which I had created on the device. I updated iOS and then Keynote, and the document was uploaded to iCloud.
I recently went to access the document on my iPad. It said I could not access the document as I was not connected to the internet, yet I was. I logged into iCloud.com to check that the document was there, and it was.
I deleted Keynote on my iPad, and reinstalled it, confident that I would simply be able to download the document again from iCloud. After reinstalling Keynote, the document icon shows with a download progress bar. Left for several hours the bar did not make any progress:
I returned to iCloud.com hoping I could download the document to my computer. When I click on the document it displays "updating...", but again left for several hours nothing happens:

How do I recover this file to either my iPad or computer (Mac OS X)

I had a whole bunch of documents that did it.
I downloaded the most recent version of each document either from iCloud.com or to iTunes on an iOS device, turned all document syncing off on all devices, restarted all devices, turned document syncing back on on all devices and added my documents back after first changing their names.
I'd give it a while first though before go through all that.
I now have 600 MB (used) of my iCloud storage that can't be accounted for, I have a ticket with Apple support about it, my suspicion is it's corrupt data and hence why I changed the names of my documents.
You may find turning syncing on and off on a particular device might resolve the problem and may not need to jump through all of the hoops mentioned.

Keynote with ios5 update

I am really freaked out here. It's 2am and my ipad2 is still updating photos but I got no clue whether or not I have lost all my ppt in keynote. I was planning on showing a short clip (video) in my class tomorrow and teach a lesson already saved in keynote. Do any of you know whether I will wake up and see it there or not. Right now the summary says 17 gig photo and 18 gigs other. Is the 18 gigs the rest of the restore??? I did have like 34 gigs of photos. I don't see any of my apps or music either. Am I going to have to manually put everything back on?? It doesn't say it's sync but I do see in my photos that it is still restoring that.
Any help would be greatly helpful! I have half an eye open at this point. THANKKKKSSS!!!

How long did it take???? It's not saying it's syncing but I notice it's still restoring photos....did this happen with you??? I wouldn't know right now any information is being transfered.

Keynote won't update

You can not change any version to the default as all Pages' document versions create .pages files. They are not identical formats but they all have the same file extension.
Right click on the files and choose which version to open them with.

How do I get pages, numbers, keynote, iPhoto and iMovie to update after installing OS X 10.10? I have the original disk.

Cancel the updates. Delete the apps. Redownload them from the Purchases tab in the App Store.

I have an IPAD 2 and tried updating the keynote on a wi fi connection but had to leave and now i can' t use the keynote till i get a wifi connection once again

Before you do any of the resets below try this first.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Here are the descriptions for the different reset settings:
Resetting iPad Reset all settings: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset All Settings. All your preferences and settings are reset. Information, such as your contacts and calendars, and media, such as your songs and videos, aren't deleted.
Erase all content and settings: Choose General > Reset, then tap “Erase All Content and Settings.” This resets all settings to their original values and erases all your information and media.
Reset network settings: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Network Settings. When you reset network settings, your list of previously used networks and VPN settings not installed by a configuration profile are removed. Wi-Fi is turned off and then back on, disconnecting you from any network you're on. The Wi-Fi and “Ask to Join Networks” settings remain turned on. To remove VPN settings installed by a configuration profile, choose Settings > General > Profile, then select the profile and tap Remove.
Reset the keyboard dictionary: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Keyboard Dictionary. You add words to the keyboard dictionary by rejecting words iPad suggests as you type. Tap a word to reject the correction and add the word to the keyboard dictionary. Resetting the keyboard dictionary erases all words you've added.
Reset the Home screen layout: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
Reset the location warnings: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Location Warnings.

All Documents Numbers, Pages & Keynote missing after update Apps, What's the solutions for that problem?

Dear Apple Lovers,
I am using ipad 2 Wifi + 3G 64 GB, I had updated my ipad from ios 4.1.3 to ios 7.0.1 three week ago.
After that All aplication and all file can be opened properly well.
The problem came after I updated Keynote, Pages & Numbers, all files could not be opened & all file name is change from alphabetical to numerical. All file content 2 type of file, 1 BuildVersionHistory and the other one is index.
if i open the file ... spreadsheet can't be imported... the file format is invalid
or in Pages...
document can't be imported... the file format is invalid...
If I want to share that document via icloud ... Can't Send Spreadsheet.. To send this spreadsheet, open it in Numbers for iOS first.
In other case... I create a new file in Pages, Numbers or Keynote.. but all the new files can't view in Tab Apps when my ipad is connected to my mac pro via iTunes. If I create a file using other aplication (example using DocToGo), a new file that is created can be seen directly in iTunes Tab Apps DocToGo.
in this morning when i open Numbers all my files are disappear including new file without the reason at all, please give me the best solution. I need your help very very urgent.... since my working datas is very very important.

There may well be circumstances where documents in the cloud doesn't work for some people.
I myself have projects like you do, however our circumstances may be different or I may simply organise myself in a different way.
I tend to use documents in the cloud for working documents in progress, once they are completed they are then filed away in a more appropriate location. I do not try to use documents in the cloud for syncing my entire work history.

Keynote crashing after update

After the recent Keynote update I find the application has started crashing during presentations. It might be slides with just pictures or slides with an object (arrow for example) appearing. The presentations were fine before - now getting crashes. These are presentations I am converting from Mac Keynote to iPad Keynote. Am having to go back and skip slides, remove object buildins, etc - doesn't really seem to be a rhyme or reason to why the crashing is occurring. Anyone else seeing this?

Narrowed the crashing down. The crashes are because of out of memory problems on the iPad ( looked at the crash logs for the iPad in the iTunes folder). Turns out it was a particular transition was the culprit - namely Page Flip. As soon as I changed to another slide transition, such as dissolve or mosaic, the crash problem went away. Ultimately it looks like that paltry 256 MB of RAM is the problem.
