KEYNOTE 6 THEME QUESTION.

How can I create a self-playing slideshow in Keynote 6 where different slides have different themes? This was easy in the previous version, but when I change a theme now, all the slides change. This is a BIG issue for me. Help!!!!!

Hi MrCur - have you tried searching for "handbrake", I came up with quite a few discussions on there.
Also, Verbatim-R is the disc everyone on here recommends.

  • Keynote to Iweb question?

I've completely forgotten how to get a "slide show" built in Keynote 08 exported to my website. Could someone be so kind as to give me a step by step or send me a link with instructions. If I use Export or Send to...then what?? Thanks in advance.

Don't be to quick to download the iWork '09 trial!! I downloaded the trial and was INCREDIBLY UPSET to find that +*I CANNOT SAVE EXPORT OR OTHERWISE PRESERVE MY WORK UNTIL I PURCHASE THE FULL PROGRAM!!*+
I don't know who the dumdum @ Apple was that added this into the iWork '09 trial but this WAS NOT the case in the trial of iWork '08. I know that for a fact because I used the 30 day trial of '08 so that my mom & I could go back and forth and work on a presentation that she was giving that she had created in Keynote '08. I didn't yet have iWork @ all b/c when I originally looked @ it (when it was BRAND NEW) I wasn't terribly impressed w/ it.
I downloaded the '08 trial and that convinced me that iWork really is a million times better than the programs that I had been using.
This past weekend I was working on another Keynote presentation that my mom gave yesterday at a major statewide conference. I had received the email about all the new features of iWork & iLife 09 and decided that maybe I might be able to incorporate some of these new goodies into the final presentation for my mom's session @ the conference! Much to my dismay, when I go to save my file after making a few changes in the updated version of Keynote '09, I got this little dialog popping up saying that I couldn't save until I bought the full license!
Thankfully, I hadn't yet upgraded Keynote on our other laptop! Don't get me wrong, I think that the update is well worth the price. In fact, I am going to be purchasing it when I upgrade my computers later this month. But I just wish that the geniuses at Apple wouldn't cause troubles like this!
I don't know why they have placed this restriction on this version when it hasn't been on ANY OTHER TRIAL DOWNLOAD that I have gotten from them!
Anyway, I've ranted & rambled on enough but oen other question?
Does anybody know how (or even IF) you can UNINSTALL the iWork '09 Trial Version??
Sorry for all my frustrated ramblings!
    ~K.A.

  • Keynotes for iPad Question

I have never used Powerpoint nor Keynotes.
But I bought the iPad for product demonstrations.
I created the slides in Photoshop, saved them as .png.
At the end, I have a mpg4 video playing.
Now I saw there is Keynotes for iPad.
My question: will it play the video as well? I am planning to add several videos at the end.
If yes, how will I switch from 1 video to the next? I read, you have to use your finger to change the page, can it be also automated? Like a slide show?
Or is there a better software which will work better for my purpose?
    Thank you.
    Dorian

Probably have better luck getting an answer in the iWorks for iPad forum.

  • Keynote Motion themes

Does anyone know of dynamic motion themes for Keynote besides Ipresentee (which are OK) and jumsoft (which don't fit what I'm doing)? Or can I get Final Cut backplates to do what I am trying to do, which is to create a moving backplate for my slides?
    Thanks,
    mirky1

    Welcome to the discussions, mirky1.
Aside from the areas you mentioned, I don't know of any others. I believe those are created as .qtz files and, because of that, they are immune to the linear nature of a Keynote presentation. They are essentially loops within themselves that play over and over.
Do you know if Final Cut backplates are rendered videos or .qtz files?

  • Keynote Custom Theme Background

I have created my own custom theme in Keynote on my iMac, it works fine and has a white background, so previews fine.
However when I save it to Keynote on my iPad and view it, the white areas on the background go transparent and I just see the standard grey background, plus the colours have all changes.
    Why does it do this?
Can I change the background on my iPad Keynote to white?
The image I imported as a background on my iMac Keynote has a white background already so why doesnt this show up on iPad keynote.
If anyone can offer any pointers, I'd be really grateful.
    Ness

Others may correct me, but my understanding is that Keynote masters can only have one title text box, and one body text box. Any other text placed on the master will appear as that literal text, and not as a text container.

  • Keynote 2 Advanced questions

    Hi,
I have been using keynote 2 for 3 months and love it. I am a convert from pp. I do have some issues with keynote. There is no slide sorter view. I do many lectures and this would be helpful, yes I know about hiding and indenting. The other issues are even more impt to me. Is there a way to shrink the entire program after it has been created like in pp? Next question is how to take a picture that has a black background and make it a tranparency like in pp?
Also, there is no custom motion path like in pp, this is impt to me in some of the more advanced presentations and points I am trying to make. The overall appearance and fluidity of Keynote 2 is exceptional. I do like it a lot and also luv the custom backgrounds i have attained. Any help would be very much appreciated!!

I mean that when i build the presentation and it is 100 mb large, in pp i can click on a slide, click on the picture in the slide and i can shrink the overall size of the presentation down to 15 mb large. This helps in not crashing or bogging down.

  • Keynote/idvd/imovie question

I have a specific project that needs to be done and I want to ensure that I do it in the most effective way.
I need to make a professional slideshow to be shown in seminar rooms for training purposes. The show needs to have text headings, pictures of people and music (more than one song/presentation). There is a possibility of needing graphs/charts as well.
The tricky part is that it won't be static. We'll be changing the pictures everytime we show it (they will be pictures of the participants in each individual seminar) and we will change the music as well.
I need something that makes it really easy to swap music and pictures, and it needs to be somehow projected (picture and sound) for a large audience (100?).
I am thinking that I'll do it in keynote and export to idvd, but I think the music will be hard since we want more than one song per presentation. Can you export keynote to imovie? If so, I think that will be the easiest. I could do the whole thing in imovie, but that seems complicated.
Any ideas would really be appreciated.
    Amy

It does not need to be interactive at the time it is shown, there will be access to a mac or we can run it off of a DVD (actually anything is possible and it is up to me so I want to plan in advance for whatever the best route may be), and yes, there will be different slides and there will need to be different music throughout. Let me know if I understood and answered all your questions.
Part of the challenge is that the music may have to be changed every 3 months or so (we will have a seminar once a week and show the presentation once each week) and the pictures will change every week (based on current participants).

  • Keynote graphics license question.

I'm wondering whether I'm allowed to publish Keynote presentations on the web -- I assume the bitmap elements in Keynote (the backgrounds, for example) are copyrighted, and thus it would be illegal for me to republish them. But this seems pretty limiting in this day and age, so I'd like a clarification whether it's legal to publish Keynote presentations on the web with their Keynote graphics intact.
I read the Keynote license agreement, but I couldn't find the info I'm looking for.
    Thanks,

    Welcome to the discussions, Wil.
If you make a presentation available as a QuickTime movie or another non-.key format, then the user can only use it as the altered graphics, which should be fine. If you put a presentation out as a .key file, anyone who downloads it now has access to all the slides, cutouts, etc that makes up that theme which would be like giving it away.
Whenever I need to use a .key file as an example, I always use one of Apple's themes since anyone with Keynote has access to those themes anyway (or I use a free theme that some of the vendors produce). So, in that way, you're only distributing the images that you include in the file which would be governed by the terms of use when they were purchased.
I'm not sure what the exact policies are, but there's been no issues regarding this as far as I'm aware of.

  • General theme question

When you install a theme, do they normally take over the settings you have under the options/screen & keyboard settings?  For instance I have my font under this selection set to bbcasual but with the theme that I have downloaded and installed onto the phone, it seems as if that themes font is overriding what I have it set to in the options for my phone.  I just wanted to make sure this was normal and was suppose to happen like this.  When I think of themes I think of pictures and just how it changes the look of the phone, but I guess fonts are also included in that as well?
    Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forums,
Yes it's normal, not all theses do it, but most do.
It's the "wall to wall" approach

  • Keynote recording narrations question

I need to record a timed narration in Keynote, I know the correct way to do using record slideshow. Problem is the narration is very long and there will no doubt be mistakes in the narration if I didi it live that I would have to go back, edit etc. Is there a way for me to record the narration outside or inside of Keynote, editv export( if I could do inside Kn) and save the final copy, import back into Keynote, record the slideshow while hearing the audio back live and THEN forward the to the next slide as needed?
    any help?
    RD

I know that GB does this but that is not the question, which is :
Can I import a narrated audio track INTO Keynote, then use Record Slideshow?
Will Keynote let me do this or can I only do it WHILE I'm recording a narration live, follow?

  • Default Keynote 6 themes not appearing

It's been five months since the standard 6 Keynote themes are not displayed to me.
I have other iWork software like Pages and Numbers but it's all right with them
So I can only choose the themes that I created myself. Since the Mavericks this is happening, now I have installed the Yosemite.

This not correct behaviour,    Delete Keynote and re-install from Mac App Store

  • Looping Quicktime Movies in Keynote & Keeping them Looped when Rendered

Okay I have a quicktime movie that I am using as the background of my slide show. I have text fly in and out over the movie. I can get the movie to loop when I view the slideshow but when I try to export the slideshow to Quicktime the Background quicktime movie only plays once and then stops. I want the quicktime background to continue to loop when I render the entire slideshow to quicktime. And yes I have checked the loop box in the quicktime tab in the inspector window. Please Help!

Yes, it is one slide with layered builds going in and out. The first 2 times I tried this it worked then on the same keynote file it stopped working on the second render and now it does not work even if I create a new file.
While I do understand that I could make my slideshow, time it and loop the movies together in iMovie I do not feel that I should have to render two separate things loosing quality on each render because of the time aspect.
Why would it work and all of a sudden stop? I should not have to go through iMovie making loops and rendering things twice when Keynote should be working.
