Keynote action "Move" in iBook problem or limitation?
Hi,
I have ran into a problem with getting a Keynote animation to play correctly in iBook.
The Keynote file contains a couple of "move" actions whereby an oject follows a particular path.
This is replicated three times on the same slide with similar objects following a different path.
These actions are sequential, not concurrent.
It works perfectly in Keynote, however when I drag the file into iBook Author and finally view on the iPad, only the first move works and the other move's don't.
Is this a problem or a limitation? I find it odd that the first move works but the other three don't. All other builds work normally.

I have replaced the four separate moves by one single, more complex move and this seems to work on the iPad now. It looks like there is a limitation to the number of move actions one can have on a single keynote slide in the iBook. Unless it is an undocumented feature of course . Still I am interested to know if anyone else has come across this problem.

Keynot '08: "Move" Action to scroll text
Sorry for this stupid question, but I'm baffled as to how to use the Action "Move". I have a block of text I want to scroll from the bottom to the top of the page. The little "Option Click the Selected Path" "hint" just isn't very helpful.
Can anyone explain how to do this (or point me to a tutorial or other link to explain these actions? I'm usually pretty good with these things, but must say Apple didn't make them very intuitive.

I have created an iBook for a presentation, however I would like to create a Keynote presentation of the iBook file.
Does anyone know if an iBook file can be transitioned to keynote? If yes, how can I do this, please?

GregYou might consider sharing/exporting/printing to PDF. Then covert the PDF's pages to jpegs pr pngs which can then be used to export to whatever or used directly from KN.

Move the iBooks library to external/different hard drive?
Hi! Is it possible to move the iBooks library from its default location on the boot drive (where the iBooks-application also resides) to a different hard drive?
Currently all my ebooks and PDF’s are kept in the default „Books“-folder in the home-library on the SSD-boot-drive of my Mac where the iBooks application is also kept by default (path: Users/„username“/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBo oks/Books). Space is getting narrow on my SSD-boot-drive so that I would like to free up approximately 20 GB by moving the entire iBooks library to a second internal HDD-drive of my Mac or to an external USB-drive.
I have not been able to find any instructions on the internet on how to move the iBooks library nor have I been successful in any of my experiments to move the „Books“-folder. What I have tried is the following:
1. I moved the original PDF-files away out of the „Books“-folder to a different drive and placed aliases from these files in the „Books“-folder. The result is that the iBooks-application will simply re-create a full size copy of the original PDF file in the „Books“-folder. I.e. no saving of disk space!
2. I copied the „Books“-folder from its default location in the user library on my internal SSD-boot-drive to a second internal HDD-drive, erased the „Books“-folder at the original location and instead placed a hard link at the original location. I verified that the hard link is working and pointing to the right location on the second drive. The result is that the iBooks-application will not recognize/show any of the PDF-files at the new location. Trying to re-import the missing PDF-files into iBooks results in the message „This book is already in your library. Do you want to replace it with the one you’re adding?“. By clicking on „Yes“ the same message returns infinitely often. I.e. no successes!
3. I repeated the same procedure as described above under 2. using the „iBooks“-folder which encloses the „Books“-folder (along with three other folders) with the same results as before. I.e. no successes!

Does anyone know how to successfully move the iBooks library to external/different hard drive?
Does anyone have links to internet discussions about this problem?
Regards BJBI was in on the Mavericks beta, when iBooks was introduced. You can not believe me if you want but it isn't currently possible to store the iBooks library on external storage at this time. The ebooks must be on the path ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Books for iBooks to function properly. Any other method you may find to accomplish what you want will be unapproved and could break at any time.

FCP won't play Keynote QT movie
Just converted a Keynote presentation into a QT movie but it refuse to playin FCP, it plays ok in Quick Time. When I try and play it in FCP it brings up the message 'general error' and 'File Error'. The Keynote QT movie of the music plays ok in FCP though.
This is the first time I have tried converting a Keynote presentaion to QT so I guess I did or do soemthing.
Any thoughts?I used H.264. Frame size 720 x 576.
Now bearing in mind I am running FCP 3.0.9, do you think this might be the problem? I know that codec is available for exporting in my version of FCP so I thought it would be able to import it too?? -
HT3775 Action Movie FX app for my iPHONE 4s
I'm using an app on my iPhone 4s called "Action Movie FX," and I want to import the video files to my MacBook Pro to edit them use them in iMovie. When I email myself the video from the app, my computer says it's a .MOV file, but Quicktime doesn't recognize it and can't play it. Anyone know how I can fix that?
Would that solve my iMovie problem, though? When I go to import the video, the file isn't even selectable to import.

As long as you are using the same Apple ID for both iPad and iBooks on your Mac, you do not need to transfer the book to your Mac. It should already be in your iBooks library.

I purchased a Shakira movie (HD). I watch it OK in my PC, but when trying to watch it in my TV using Apple TV I get an endless rolling wheel. I can watch other Apple Store movies with no problem. Any idea of what's going on?

Folder Action + Move Finder Items = Zero KB files
I've got a folder action set that is supposed to run the Automator Action "Move Finder Items" on any file that gets placed in a specific folder (called "Folder A") and move it to "Folder B". I'm having an issue with larger files though.
As soon as I begin to transfer the file to "folder A" , the folder action runs and results in a "Zero KB" file in "Folder B".
Is there any way to keep the Folder Action from triggering until the file has completely copied to the folder with the Folder Action attached ("Folder A")?
A side note: I have this same folder action running on an iMac with Mac OS 10.6.3 and it works great . (This one was made with the newer version of Automator that shipped with 10.6 vs. Automator on 10.5 which made the action I am having trouble with)

Quicktime 7 in Lion for keynote interactive movs
Can I install quicktime 7 in Lion? (Quicktime X doesn't play the keynote interactive.movs)
On Lion, I am able to play Keynote files exported to QT using Manual Advance and Hyperlinks Only in QuickTime X on Lion. But here is the link to the QT 7 installer if you need it:

Since moving to Maverick and the new updated of Keynote, I have a constant problem when typing in a text box, the program crashes. Is there a bug fix for this. Drives me nuts. Like many who can type quite quickly but at secretarial level, the text box freezes, nothing works and you know what's coming...crash!
This is most annoying. Is there bug fixes for this. Apparently I have the current updates and this problem still exists. Is it a Maverick bug or Keynote.
BarryHow did you install Mavericks, as an update ontop of the previous OS or did you wipe the drive and install clean?

Import request hugn on start of action move nametabs
Hi all,
I copy an request(cofile and data file) from one system to another system via OS level copy.
Then i use " T-Code: STMS -> Import Overview -> Extras -> Other Requests -> Add" to add the request to SAP System.
After i click the import buttion, the request state always show "import running".
I use the import monitor to check the state, and it hung on "start of action move nametabs"
I follow the thread Import Running for a long time on ECC 6.0 but it can't solve my issue.
Does anyone have suggestion ?
