Keynote advanced slide numbering "X of Y"
Does someone here know if it is possible to put something like "Page X of Y" on the slides where Y is the automatic number of all slides?

X is possible. From the Inspector Window, look in the slide tab (second from left) and click on appearance on the top. There should be an option there for "slide number." This option may need to be checked for every slide, which you can do all at once by highlighting every slide in the left frame (click on one slide, then command+A) and then going through the inspector to option in the "slide number."
As for Y, you may have to place that in manually using a text box.

Remote for advancing slides in Keynote
I'm posting this as a suggestion for Apple. I use a remote to advance slides for presentations. I would really like to be able to do that with the iPad. Bluetooth would be just fine. None of my Bluetooth mice will pair with the iPad so that won't work

BillGeez, I watched the same SteveNote and didn't see anything in there that gave me the impression that you'd be able to remotely advance Keynote slides from something outside of the iPad - the demo clearly indicated it was set up to use *the iPad itself* to hook up to a projector (not wirelessly) and be the presenter's screen (like a giant remote), with the projector getting the presentation output.
I'm sorry some of you bought this so early and were hoping to use it as a regular laptop, as it's not one. If you really need the services of a laptop and a bluetooth mouse, well........netbooks are cheap. Cheaper than iPads.
Having said that, give it some time - perhaps Apple will add this feature at some point, but I don't know if I would hold my breath. Even more likely there may be an iPhone/iPod app that may remotely advance iPad slides, but this will likely require them both to be talking via a WiFi router in the room.

White slide numbers in mac keynote remain black on ipad
Can anyone explain to me why slide numbers formatted to be white in the master pages on the mac are black when i open the same keynote file on the iPad?
Yes. Deeply annoying. I've just encountered this too. Why won't it at least maintain formatting that has been applied in Keynote on the Mac. How difficult could it be?

Aggregator Slide Numbering (Captivate CPT 5.5)
Aggregator seems to work fine. Two things I noticed, one of which is a question:
The CPT movie fills the (webpage) screen at first but when all the individual SWF of the aggregated project finish downloading the CPT movie "shrinks" to the development size (in this case 800x600). I wonder why it is large at first (almost like "full screen" but more like full webpage) and then reverts to the development size.
The slide number variable on each slide of each module (movie or SWF) only counts the slides in the specific module. When the next module starts, the slide number is zero. It makes sense that it would do this but I wonder if it is possible to do two different things instead:
Index from one (1) instead of zero (0), and
Count all slides, across modules, in successive order so if module 1 is 10 slides and module 2 is 5 slides, the last slide played would be slide number 15.

About your second question: are you showing the slide numbers to the user in a Text Caption? In that case the quickest way would be to calculate the number by an advanced action. It is possible to pass data from one file to another (like the total number of slides in the previous file), but then you'll need a widget from cpguru - Michael Lund:

How do I add slide numbers to Captivate?
Also, in my course, I need to add quiz questions and then final test questions. Quiz questions are not added into the final score, but final test would be tabulated into the final course score.
How do I do this? (I noticed that with survey questions, there is not a review page to show the correct answer. Survey questions also seem to still be included in graded question score reporting.)
Any guidance would be much appreciated!

For slide number you need cpInfoCurrentSlide, which starts with 1 (most numbering starts with 0). Insert that var in a text container, using the X button in the Style tab of the properties panel,
the Character portion.
As for the Quiz question: you can uncheck to include a score in the Quiz total. Advanced Interaction panel (F9) is a good place to check all scored objects, and to see whether they are included in the Quiz total or not. Most quizzing system variables will adapt to the situation, score and percentage, maximum possible score will not take into account the questions that are not adding their score to the total score. However some variables will include the knowledge questions: total number of questions is one of them. This means that you have probably to tweak the score slide, to create a score slide yourself. Check the same list with system variables to create a custom score slide. Maybe this blog post can help, although the subject is bit different: Intermediate Score Slides - Captivate blog
Another approach would be pretest slides, but it has a lot of limitations: navigation will disappear, pretest slides have to be together at start of the course. -
Another easy yes/no question. Can I have the slide numbers display in the T.O.C. without having them as part of the slide name? I (or more correctly, the instructors) want the slide numbers in the TOC but I don't want them in the on-slide title which I populate via calling a variable since I have the number presented elswhere on the slide also populated via a variable "sldnumber of totalslides" (not the real variables but you know which one I mean). I guess could manually enter the on-slide title if I had to have the number included in the slide name for it to display in TOC but would prefer not to. Am I missing a check box somewhere?

-Eric-The TOC items are populated by the Slide Name as shown in the filmstrip view. The on slide title caption has no effect on the TOC.
Once you reset the TOC to show selected slide names, you can double-click items in the TOC to edit the name without affecting the slide names shown in the filmstrip.

I still have an iPad 1, and need to update to iOS 7 to use Keynote, Pages and Numbers but I get the message the my system is updated in iOS 5.1.1 and doent's offer me another update! How can I update it? Or I can't?

My App Store is not responding after upgrading to Mavericks and installing free Keynote, Pages and Numbers Apps.
Also I tried to reboot and restart and nothing happens still unresponsive.
Tried to click as many times as I can the App Store and it won't open.

Strange. The photos that don't display in Aperture will still display in iPhoto but when I view the info the file doesn't show resolution information only for those problematic photos
Files sizes are almost all jpeg. Once I reference the file in iPhoto, the master displayed resolution for the photo within finder. The photo's original file also opened in preview and photoshop. -
Can I combine project files to fix slide numbering

I have slide numbering in the format x of y on all except the title slide. Of course this means that the first page of content is labelled 2 of Y. I ahve created a separate project with the title slide pointing to the content project, but can't get Multi SCO packager to work as I thought it should. In particular, I don't want the additional TOC created. Is there any way to do what I want? With Multi SCO? Or another tool?

SG, who offered a simple script on another of your topics is one of the scripting wizards on the Numbers forum. I am beginning to find my way within a Numbers file but reading a bunch of files into 1 is something I haven't attempted yet. Numbers 3 is very script savvy so it can be a very useful tool. A script I am using with some frequency updates certain popups on several sheets in a file.

You need to know that each Numbers file or document can contain many sheets. Each of those sheets can contain many tables. You might also hear a file refered to as a spreadsheet. The distinctions will be important if you being to script.

Im making and advanced slide show and have recently switched over to FCE. In imovie they have the ken burns effect for pictures. I was wondering if I could do something similar in FCE (I'm assuming I can and with much more customization available I'm just not sure how). Thanks.

IWork(Keynote, pages and numbers) doesn't work well about the issue of copy & paste problem
I think so, too. the Keynote 6.5 is not working well on Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10.1).
In my case, I can't copy & paste from some program(particularly analysis program in my case) to Keynote.
So, when I check coping & pasting the graph or image and so on to Powerpoint and other programs (one of Office is such word and 3rd programs), It works well. However It doesn't work at Keynote, page and numbers.
Also, I tried to do the following process to solve this issue

Something is wrong with your installation of Keynote
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using AppDelete.
2 restart the Mac; Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Keynote 6.5 is stable and reliable under Yosemite for most users.
As with all new operating systems and applications, a small number of users find a few problems.
Copy and pasting text from and into Keynote from all the applications I have, work perfectly: the applications include; Safari, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, excel, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
If you want to place graphics into Keynote, use one of the following methods:
Insert > Coose
click the media button on an image placehoder
click the media button on the tool bar
drag and drop from a Finder window

Change the "playback bar" to show slide numbering?
I am using Adobe Captivate 5 and outputting the CBTs as flash files. Is there a way to change the “playback bar” to show slide numbering. For example “Slide 1 of 15?”
I played around with “variables” but this allows you to put a slide number on the slide itself and not on the playback bar. Do you have any recommendations?You'll need a programmer to change the playbar (Flash) in that case.
An alternative could be to put the playbar in overlay, don't stretch it over the total width of the slide, and add the solution with system variables at the same height as the playbar.
TOC provides also slide numbers, and could act as an alternative for navigation.

I have the the 09 suite alreday installed, and I didn't loose them with Maveriks upgrade.
