Keynote and Gotomeeting issue

When I do a live online gotomeeting and use Keynote as my presentation app, the other parties just see a blank screen. Other presentation apps (PPT, OpenOffice) work fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Fonts, builds, themes and transitions created in Keynote that do not have a counterpart in PowerPoint will cause issues. Look at the 4 slides causing problems and change the contents accordingly.

I'm experiencing major synchronisation issues on ICloud, especially for documents created on my Mac in pages, keynote and numbers. Contacts and agenda items work fine. I checked all my account settings. But while I can upload documents from my MAC onto ICloud, they don't show on my IOS devices (whereas previously this worked without issues).

On this Mac I did move all the visible iCloud documents out of iCloud, into another folder, then disabled syncing, exactly as you suggested. But there were, apparently, documents remaining in my Mac's local iCloud store, "~/Library/Mobile Documents/" that I could not see (so could not remove). The Pages file "CSU-PD-UN1.pages" was one such document.
The act of disabling iCloud's document sync'ing, in System Prefs, just renames the local "iCloud" store to "~/Library/Mobile Documents/<appleid#>/" effectively shielding the it from the sync'ing mechanism. Looking at this renamed folder (the screenshot above) revealed that "CSU-PD-UN1.pages" (and other files) had not been removed; it would be reasonable to assume that one, or more, of these "undeletable" files were related to my original problem, and when I re-enabled doc sync'ing, those bad files would just clog up the works again.
So I deleted them with the Finder on both Macs (the other Mac had bad files too, but different ones), then re-enabling sync'ing on the two Macs and doc sync'ing between the Macs (and iCloud.com) appears to now work as intended.
Sadly, iOS devices (iPhone and two iPad) now do not sync at all. Newly created documents do not migrate to any other devices, and documents on other devices do to migrate to the iOS devices.
Your suggestions have certainly done some good, but something is now keeping my iOS devices out of the the iCloud doc sync'ing process. I suspect it's a similar problem as the Macs had ("invisible" files gumming up the works), so I'm going to apply some nasty tricks to explore the iOS devices file system and see if I can find them, and delete them by brue force.

Ppt and keynote 09 font issues

I'm opening a .ppt file with keynote and the fonts (tahoma) doesn't display properly. Any suggestions?

Solution found: copy and replace the Tahoma font from my win pc laptop and it works like a charm. (I forgot to tell you that I'm using the Greek language).
.ppt files open now and looks good and on Office 08 for Mac and to Keynote 09.

If it doesn't work, unhide Numbers and Pages > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4928 Then, you will be able to install them without any problem

Keynote and iPhone Remote throwing an error

They remote works great when I open keynote and then use the remote app. But once I stop the slide show, and try and start the slide show again I get an error. When that happens it won't even let me start the slide show manually. I have to shut keynote down and restart it.
Any ideas?

Examples of what is going on:
1. In Pages, Numbers & Keynote, when I go to the media browser the Audio section reads "Open iTunes to populate this list" even after iTunes has been opened, .xml file has been replaced/repaired, etc AND Photo section reads "Open iPhoto to see photos from your iPhoto Library in this list" even after iPhoto Library has been replaced and new default library created.
2. In iMovie, similar thing ... when I go to add photos or music to a movie the iTunes files aren't present and the iPhoto photos are missing with similar messages as in #1.
3. In iPhoto, similar thing ... when I go to add music to a slideshow it says to "Open iTunes to populate this list".
It is shocking to me that Apple would let something as simple as a pathway link to associated library files get this messed up on an upgrade, but what's even more surprising is that with the number of people who seem to be having this particular issue (and I can tell from all the research that I've done for weeks online that there are a lot of them) that there doesn't seem to be a single clear answer to fixing it anywhere on these community support forums. Most of what I've seen is rehashed advice from outdated issues. What I need is a simple answer to how do we get these programs to look for the correct location of the photo and music files because I sure can't seem to find any logical place to do that through the programs' preferences files or the system preferences window?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem on a new MacBook Pro. I have not been able to access the iTunes library from iPhoto since I got this computer. I looked in the Preferences file and deleted the com.apple.iApps.plist but there was no com.apple.iApps.lockfile so I just deleted the iAPPs.plist and rebooted the computer. Still no iTunes available in iPhoto.
All my music is in iTunes and plays. After reading the above I brought up Pages and I was able to access music and insert a track into a document.
Do you have any suggestions.

Is it possible to embedding a video in Keynote and then play as a PDF? I want to do a PowerPoint/Keynote presentation that includes videos from YouTube. My preference is use Keynote although I do have Office 2004.
My issue is that the places where we present have their own equipment so we are encouraged to bring the presentation on a USB/portable HD, and they tend to be Windows environments.
In my perfect (ignorant) world, I'd

Add/embed videos from YouTube
Save it as a multi platform file like a PDF
I guess the key issue is:

No, it's not possible without using hacks. And Adobe can't support or endorse hacks
Bear in mind that not only there are new features in a new version which can't possibly be recreated by an older version - also, there are enhancements to existing features, which would make them render differently in the two versions.
That said, there are people posting such hacks, as Sébastien pointed out.

Using Keynote and iPhoto slideshow together

Hi everyone! Above are the specs for the project I'm working on and here's the problem I'm having:
I am trying to create a makeshift kiosk display for an upcoming event using slides in Keynote and a picture slideshow in iPhoto. I'm planning on running it off my Powerbook to my 23" Cinema Display.
I'm using Keynote for the presentation content because of the motion effects (transitions, build-ins, etc.) and iPhoto for the image slideshow because of the Ken Burns effect (which I don't believe Keynote has). Both look great running seperately, however when this is being displayed at the show, I'll need both to run back to back automatically, without having to manually switch back and forth between applications.
I have both the Keynote presentation and the iPhoto slideshow displaying at 1920x1200. I've tried exporting the iPhoto slideshow to Quicktime, but it won't export any higher than 640x480. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this work? I won't be able to operate the computer when this is running, so I really need to find a way to make everything run seamlessly while keeping the high resolution of the 1920x1200 monitor.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

I would change a few things to make everything work together:
First is the display resolution. You want the 23 inches to be used so just reduce the display preferences to try and match your QuickTime file. 800X600 sounds about right but larger will still work as H.264 Video scales up in size very nicely.
This would force you to "reduce" the dimensions of the Keynote file but that shouldn't be much of an issue.
QuickTime Pro could also be used to "change" the dimensions of the 640X480 file. Again, H.264 scales up in size and would look pretty good at even double size.
The goal is to have them both at the same dimension and then match the monitor resolution.
Easier to change the display than the files.

My ipad air was bought and activated AFTER September 1st and I downloaded pages, keynote and numbers. I then changed my Apple ID as the password no longer worked, these apps were also deleted I order to be updated. Now I cannot get the free version. Help?

Video/FlashCard/Vista/Gotomeeting Issue (laptop model A215-S5822)

Hi everybody,
I'm not sure yet if this is a Video, Flashcard, Vista, or Gotomeeting issue.
Suddenly whenever I run Gotomeeting now, it won't share my screen and then it eventually gives me a message saying "Toshiba Flashcards has stopped working"...
I know that whenever I start GotoMeeting, the laptop switches to "Windows Basic" display settings. It's always done that, but for some reason I can now no longer share my desktop screen with other gotomeeting users.
Does this sound like a purely Gotomeeting issue?

Yes. You can export iPad Pages and Keynote files as Word and PowerPoint files and you can upload/transfer/email Word and PowerPoint files to the iPad and work on them in Pages and Keynote.
Be advised that there will be some degree of formatting issues and also that the iOS versions of Pges and Keynote do not the full functionality of Word and PowerPoint on a computer.

Using Keynote and Numbers together

I am trying to find out if I can paste a Numbers spreadsheet into Keynote and keep the formulas. Or can I build a spreadsheet within Keynote and add formulas to it? This is for my iPad and iOS6.

I just purchased Keynote, and am SO bummed!

I have a website with an imbedded flash show that needed to be updated, so I purchased Keynote online today, love it, easy to use, good results, very professional looking, I created a great looking slide show quickly, and then the trouble started.
I can't export it as an .swf file - from everything I'm reading I will now need to BUY conversion software to convert this to a .swf format.
I want this embedded in my site so that it starts playing immediately when people visit, quicktime is not an option.
I can't believe that Apple would not have this feature. Frustrated beyond words here!
Is there a workaround that isn't going to cost me more money?
I love Apple products, have it all, ipad, imac, iphone and this is the first time that I have been really frustrated with Apple.

Export to .swf is available in Keynote '08. It was never very satisfactory and was dropped. This was a good thing since the flash player plugin is notorious for having performance and security issues. Like a lot of people, I use ClickToFlash to prevent the flash plugin from launching in Safari.
Flash is history as far as websites are concerned since the rapidly growing number of portable devices don't support it. Website movies are more commonly displayed using HTML5 with flash fallback for out of date browsers.
Here's an example of this type of player and info about freeware to convert to MP4, OGG and WebM - the three formats required to cover all browsers...

Movies are easily set to autoplay using HTML5 although this is kind of futile since most smart phones and tablets don't support it. In general, it is bad practice to allow website movies to auto load and/or auto play for obvious reasons.

Apple Keynotes and Quicktime on Mac?

As the die-hard Apple fan I am, I was trying to watch some older keynotes of apple introducing some products. I have allways had this issue with my Intel mac. They keynotes just don't play. Or very poorly. The audio is fantastic. No problems. But the video comes in blurry, and refreshes every few seconds. Its awful. And somtimes I just get stuck at the copyright information at the beginning. I have normally just grunted, said bug and then watched it on my iPhone. But my iPhone wont play these old keynotes and i am stuck. Its not my internet connection. 6 MBPS.
Help? Or rather HALP?

Keep in mind that the galleries can not be password protected for ATV access.
That tripped me up for a week or so, as all of my galleries were PW protected. If so, ATV will only allow you to remove the listing for your gallery; it will not show what is there. I edited one of my galleries to remove the PW requirement, and ATV is now able to display it.

IOS5 on iPad1, iPad2 and iPhone4S all with iCloud on. Lion 10.7.2 installed on my MacBookPro and iCloud set up/on. Any new iCal entry on either iPad or on the iPhone ends up via iCloud on both iPads and iPhone. BUT NOT ON THE MacBookPro. And iCal entry on the MacBookPro does NOT GET SENT to iCloud.com or to either iPad or the iPhone. This is a huge problem for me because I do all my office scheduling on the iPad or iPhone but rely on the MakeBookPro to print out daily client lists. I REALLY need to get this fixed...it is causing major business issues. " No one so far has had a fix.... :(
