Keynote (and iWork in general) will not update automatically or manually

Keynote announced a new update (4.0.3), but the main software update center from the Apple menu did not find any update for it. Then I visited Apple.com to download the update manually. But once downloaded it would not install, saying that no eligible version of Keynote was found in my application folder.
Further information:
I encountered a similar problem when purchasing the iWork package in the first place. To begin with I just typed in the serial number into my expired trial package, only to encounter the same problem as described above: the software update center didn't find any update (in this case, the x.0.2 versions) and manually it it stated no eligible version was available. I then deleted the expired trial versions (which had been unlocked by the way, only fault was that they could not update) and reinstalled from the disc I purchased. And then the software update center from the Apple menu found the x.0.2 updates and all was alright.
But alas... Now Keynote once again refuses to update, as Pages and Numbers probably also would do come future updates. What should I do??

You know, there MIGHT be, but I'm not sure if it would interfere with the running of the program.
I'm not even sure why Apple feels it's important for iWork to be where they want it to be (iLife is the same way). I think others that have felt the need to organize the Applications folder (like the old OS9 way of doing things) have either determined that they'll have to constantly move folders or have decided it's not worth moving (or have moved their organization of apps to the Dock, for example).
Maybe that's why there's no solution to the .plist or .com question.

Well, to paraphrase the old line, "What're you gonna believe, that email or your own lying eyes?"
The first thing I'd recommend trying is to power down your iPad (press & hold Sleep/Wake until the red OFF slider appears, then slide it to shut down), and then boot it back up and try again. You're resetting a bunch of state signals by doing that and this simple action (the first of a series recommended by Apple in your Users Guide) will quite often clear up these sorts of problems.

Have you tried restarting the machine and applying the updates again ? If yes, are you still getting the same error message ? If yes , could you please share a screen shot of the error that you get ?

Updated to IOS6 and now my apps will not update on the Ipad2. I have to delete them and then re-install. But I have several hundred apps and this is cumbersome. Seems the new software is too buggy. I am telling people not to update software yet.

Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

I have just updated my iphone to ios6 and now my music will not update?

I have only heard bad things about the ios6 update, hence why i have been postponing up dating it.
so i finally do update it and now this?!
When i re sync the music it will not update at all :/

I decieded I would try to fix by going to the AppStore and pay another 19.99 and I get a message saying it is already installed.
Is there a way to repair? (I do not have the iWork CD (I moved and it is in storage, no way to get)
Is there a way to download and install from the AppStore?
I have Timemachine, is there a way to recover using it?

My devices constantly disconnect whilst connected on airplay and my apple tv will not update

Whilst using airplay my devices constantly disconnect. I am trying to update my software on my apple tv as it says there is an update available but it will not work.

Intermittant issues are often a result of interference. If on wifi try ethernet. Make sure router is up to date. Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise.

IPod will not update automatically

After installing iTunes 7.0 I find that my iPod will not sync any more. There is no automatic updating. iTunes recognizes the iPod and says it's updating but nothing updates. It has sat for hours updating and nothing comes across.
I've installed and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 7.0 but it doesn't make any difference.
Has anyone any ideas, I've over 9,000 songs so I don't want to even think about restoring the iPod.

Sorry to say, but restoring might be what you have to do.
You can try using the ipod diagnostic by going to Help>run diagnostics and see if any errors are reported

Favicon will not update automatically

I have different favicons on different pages, so I use the page properties to assign the correct favicons to the different pages, and not the site properties. However, when I updated the design of the favicon and assigned it to the Master, the individual pages under that master did not update.
I would expect the updated favicon to be assigned to all the pages, but now I manually have to go to each page's properties and delete the assigned favicon, so that the page will again fetch it from the master.
See screenshots below. As you can see the Master page has the correct favicon, but the pages assigned with this master has not been updated with the correct favicon. If I click on the trashcan, it will be updated, but I don't want to do this on every page.

Same thing happens to me! I use only one icon for all the site, but Muse generates individual icons for aech page, all identical and the changes to the master icon don't affect the icons of the individual pages.

Hello, (Bit of a long one but please read)
We have 3 servers in same physical location and server OU etc that are exhibiting the exact same behaviors (we have server servers in this location that are not), as above theyt are all W2008 R2 SP1 and all built from the same standard
image we use on hundreds of other computers, they have also been in production for different amounts of time and we started to see this behavior at different times with them: (Its odd they are all in the same site where there are also several other servers
that are not effected, there must be a link ? )
These servers are all missing several patches when checking our internal tool that reports from IBM endpoint management that we use to deliver patches (they are not all missing the exact same patches some ore or less than other), although
SCCM (we used SCCM to deliver patches until around 6 months ago) and IBM EM are both running (some ptches hark back to the SCCM Delievry days) they are not patching and when attempting to patch manually by downloading the exact patch coresponding to the fixlet
ID and the KB , the stanbdalone installer starts and after some time you receive an error message “The update is not applicable to yoru computer”. Windows update returns error 80070006 for all of the servers.
it is worth noting that other applications and products also using the .MSU extension will insatll so it is not a problem with the installer service.
The above led me to think a corrupt patch may have stopped the sequence of patching so I then looked in “Programs and Features” => “Installed updates” and this is blank for all of them returening the message:
“NO UPDATES ARE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER”. (this I believe is a part of the fundamental issues and resolving this may resolve the patching)
Another issue is that if you run “SFC /SCANNOW” It starts the scan and then returns: “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation” (Also in safe mode and both from an elevated CMD and WMI is started as a service)
The all three are probably related so I think fixing the “SFC and NO UPDATES SHOWN” issues will resolve the first.
The things I have tried so far are:
Running : wmic qfe list full /format:htable > c:\updates.htm Should produce a list of updates but instead returns : No Instance(s) Available (this is not hopeful)
Fix: Ran the “SYSTEM UPDATE REDINESS TOOL” from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
Result : Update Ran successfully but NO CHANGE
Fix: Ran the automated and manual fix “RESET WINDOWS UPDATE COMPONENTS” here :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058/en then undated windows update agent.
Result : All ran successfully and NO CHANGE
Fix: Ran MBSA
Result : Runs successfully and then stays at “Done downloading security update information” (Log gives no obvious information)
Fix: Renamed the software distribution folder/restarted services (Various variations of this fix online, tried a few)
Result: Runs as described in article with new Software distribution folder being created,
NO CHANGE
Fix: Create/Correct the reg key for windows trusted installer located here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version (several articles relating to this and the above issues)
Result: the existing key was correct as should be from internal system information gathered , required in article.
Fix: Ran the “Windows update trouble-shooter”

Result: It detected and fixed error’s but still no change.
The WMI Repository checks out on them all for both of the methods I know to verify “Get-wmiobject –list |measure” and ensure count is over 900 and also “C:\>winmgmt /verifyrepository” and the repository came back as “WMI Repository is consistent”. I guess
this is not hard evidence the WMI is OK, but these are the only methods I know.
I have also tried removing the server from its OU , running a GP Update and then rebooting and testing but to no avail (Bit of a longshot but tried to link the distinction between the three servers and the OU GP is one of them)
I have tried a few other articles registering .Dll’s etc , but I did not take a note of links as I was at the start of this and didn’t expect it to go so long so please reply with anything you see not above im happy to try again.
I have thought about removing SP1 and reinstalling it but this will require a major downtime and only possible if the backup files of SP1 have not been removed.
Any help is apreciated !

I changed my email address and my user id will not update for icloud!

Yes, I went into the Appleid and updated the email address there. The problem?? Icloud on my Iphone 4! It does not allow you to change the User ID in settings! I've tried going to store and sign out and sign back in. Did not work! Has anyone else had this issue??

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

By "not running", what exactly do you mean?
You can't open it from "Programs"? You can't open it when double clicking a pdf file? You can't open a link to a pdf on a web page? Do you get any error messages?

Firefox will NOT update, have to manually update, how to resolve?

Running windows XP, SP3. firefox notifies me that there is an update, I say yes update. it downloads the up date, which FAILS, then it downloads the whole program, which FAILS.
I then Manually down load and install - without a problem. this has happened over a number of updates.
In the past it use to do the updates, without a problem.
Checked all the answers in the help files, but they don't apply

In every previous version of FF, it updated normaly without any issue.
Now, is the first time FF wont update. It failed to update, and then it failed to download the whole program.

Since the update to V4.0.1 when using prodigits chat, the chatroom page displays a warning bar stating ,Firefox has prevented this page automatically redirecting and an allow button.
Pressing allow does refresh the page, but only once! Using the page's manual refresh button also works, but this is really annoying! I have tried enabling/disabling cookies but neither has any effect. Please help me get rid of this pesky bar!! thanks in advance.
