Keynote and Lion Desktop change

While running a Keynote 5.1 presentation with manual advance under Lion 10.7.2, I would like to switch to another desktop between slides. This is to demonstrate a software application. I have not been able to do this either with a gesture or a keyboard shortcut. It seems the presentation traps every keystroke and gesture, preventing it from getting to the OS.
Has anyone else tried this and were you successful?

It does NOT work using a trackpad gesture. And using ctrl-tab works in an awkward way. Besides having to use the keyboard, it hides the keynote presentation creating an annoying flickering and when you go back to that desktop you don't see the presentation anymore, since it is hidden. So, the only way to get it back is by clicking on keynote icon.
So, the process is, trackpad to play the presentation, keyboard to ctrl-tab, trackpad/keyboard to switch through apps and trackpad again to click on the dock icon. Oh, and I forgot to mention that if keynote is in fullscreen mode, it won't work at all. Could it be worse?
Well, I have an alternative for that. When working on the slide show, BEFORE switching to another app, press the key "F". This will "freeze" the presentation. You can then use the trackpad and do whatever you want. The slide show will be intact and displayed even in mission control.
When you're done with other apps, just go back to the slide show and press "F" again or click on the slide. The only problem I face is that there is no indication if the slide show is in freeze mode or not, so sometimes I end up pressing F twice or clicking and get my slide to mistakenly advance. Better than nothing..

Desktop changes on its own?

I am having an odd problem with my desktop changing images on its own. I go into System Preferences and select an image from iPhoto and the desktop changes to that for a bit and then the next thing I look again, it has changed back to the nebulla/cosmos shot. I change it to some other factory setting image like a nature shot or leaves from the plant folder and after a few minutes, I have the nebulla back again.
Either my machine is telling me it secretly has a desire for me to send it to the moon, or I have a ghost in my machine.
Please, any ideas?

that means you are not bound to one so don't worry about that. I just wanted to make sure that your computer is not centrally managed in some way. right now I don't know what could be doing this. try clearing all caches with YASU

just that that is one method, and lacks provision for working boot image and for an emergency - Lion gives a small minimal emergency boot environment but may lack all the utilities you need to use and run, even some drivers that your mac requires for add on PCIe.
Just grab and look through Help in Carbon Copy and SuperDuper, both excellent and each has their use - together - for cloning.
And do you have two TM backup sets? ought to consider that also, rotate daily or make a weekly set. Otherwise you are putting all your eggs in the proverbial one basket.

I didn't install OS lion in my mac. I wanna know whether keynote and pages are installed basically in OS lion.
If I buy Keynote and pages using my apple ID, can I install the apps both in my macbookpro and air by one purchase?
Can I upgrade Keynote and pages though I bought in online appstore?
What is difference buying i work CD beteween buying app. I'm curious because to buy in appstore is much cheaper

No, Pages and Keynote do not come installed on a new Mac. You have to purchase them separately.

Yes, anything you buy in the app store can be installed on your other Macs so long as you use the same Apple ID.

The iWorks looks cheaper in the App store because you can buy each of the apps separately.

Show the Inspector; view > show inspector
to run a presentation using manual control:
Inspector > Document: set Presentation to Normal
many transitions set in PowerPoint are not available in Keynote; to set the transition options:
Inspector > Slide > Transition
select the effect you want and either choose auto or manual control

New user of Mountain Lion. I find that when I attach a URL as a link to Mail 6.0. The font and font size changes!!!!

When I try to attach a URL as a link that is taken from Safari to mail 6.0 the font and font size changes!!!!!
It changes from comic sans 24 to heltvekia 12!!!! What the heck is going on??????

I also upgraded to Lion and do have font problems in Mail. Just in some mails, including my own signature.
I just updated today with 10.7.1, but still have the font problem.

Macupdate Desktop and Techtracker Desktop restart itself on reboot of Mountain Lion

This is a weird problem on my MacBook Pro with Retina display running Mountain Lion.
I have Macpdate Desktop and Techtracker Desktop software on my system to alert me on software padres. boy work fine.
Problem thatI have recently is that even though I have quit both programs after use, and they are not running anymore. When I reboot my Mac, there's two software restart itself.
How can I prevent this to happen? I don't want to disable all software to resume after reboot. Just want to solve prolem with this two software. This is because I I want the Finder window to reopen on my Desktop after reboot.
Any friend here can advise a permanent solution that work?
I have tried to remove files that related to these two software in Saved Applicatin State folder, it help solve the problem on that reboot, but soon, he problem will start again. Not a big issue, bu simpy annoyance.
Advise please and thank in advance.

Go to system preferences>users & groups>login items. If those two items are there, delete them.

Desktop and window color change

My cat walked across my pb G4 keyboard and the colors of all windows and the desktop have changed. Everything is sort of in negative(windows have black backgrounds and white text, desktop is supposed to be shade of blue and is now oranges.
I have tried many combinations of the keys that I thought he had stepped on, shut down and restarted, checked in system preferences, looked through the color and desktop sections of help. Nothing seems to get the color back to normal.
Anyone out there able to help me?

The keyboard shortcut (known instinctively by all cats) is Control-Option-Command-8

I change my apple ID and password. By doing that I was not able to update apps so I delete then and download them again. But keynote and pages are expensive.

Afraid not Hugo... The apps purchased from one Apple ID account cannnot be transferred to another and accounts cannot be merged.

Mouse problem and desktop changes

When left clicking my mac mouse (wired) my desktop changes to widgetwindow and vice versa. This problem suddenly started by itself.
Pointing and clicking as should be no longer possible.
My trackpad works fine though.
Anyone can help me out on this?

Your mouse settings may have been inadvertently changed. Take a look at the article "Troubleshooting Mighty Mouse and determining expected behavior" for some tips about the features of the Mighty Mouse. I have attached a picture of what the default setting typically are:

I hate macbook air. in keynote and pages -inversion colours. cannot change it.

in keynote and pages the project is viewed in inversion colours. cannot change it to show in origin. so, cannot create effective ppt or pages.
I use it on Macbook air. trial version. (i cannot buy it as i am a foreigner and work in China. no visa card and cannot open it as in china for foreigners they do not open).
i am really tired. already 3 days trying to create a normal ppt but its preview is shown in inversion colors. i tried to push every bottom and every option in the menu - no option to change preview on origin color style. as a result - no ppt and no pages. i start to hate macbook as i still keep dependent on my laptop with microsoft windows.
i took a trial version of iwork as i need to use excel, pages and ppt along for my work. realy hate macbook as it makes me limited.

I downloaded an instalation file of a trial version. found it in google. it looks like very official and has references on appstore along. I did not update Iwork as it didn't require any updates.
PS. yes, cannot use pages and keynote on my macbook air.

If you install those new OS X versions over the top of what you already have, your files and preferences should remain. However, it's a very good idea to have at least one complete backup of your Mac's disk before you try anything like that.
