Keynote File Burned to iDVD - Slides no longer synced with Music

Hi ....
I carefully prepared a keynote presentation where the slide timings and music were carefully synced and it all ended together ...
However ... after I send it to IDVD ... the slides now play faster than when I originally set them up in Keynote ... so the music goes on when the slides are over now. So it's no longer synced.
When i first "send to idvd" I use "fixed timing" because I just want the dvd to play automatically. With this option it asks for slide duration and build duration. Why is it doing this ? ... I have already done this in Keynote itself. I'm wondering if this is the source of the problem.
I checked the Quicktime file that is generated for iDVD to burn ... and it's the same thing there .. so it's somehow happening when exporting to Quicktime I guess ...
Any ideas ....? Thanks ...

Hi there ...
For anyone having a similar problem or is curious ... I managed to find a way to make sure that my audio and video sync.
I don't know if this is a bug in Keynote .. or whether i did something wrong .. but here is how I fixed it.
I added a voice recording over the slideshow. I didn't really want anyone narration ... but I noticed that with the recording selection that the stupid slide transition and build transition timings don't come up. So I just set the input volume at 0 in systems prefs ... ran the show recording nothing ... and when I exported it ... the soundtrack i had originally attached and the slide show was perfectly synced as it began in Keynote ..
Whatever .....

  • Since iDvd is no longer supplied with Lion, what is best to use to burn to dvd for TV?

Since iDvd is no longer supplied with Lion, what is the best product to use to burn to dvd for TV from iMac?  Is there a free solution?

Thank you very much for the link.  I'm in the process of evaluating the trial version of a couple of products other than iDvd.  Since iDvd does not have a trial, I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions.  Once I'm done, I plan on putting up the resluts of what I've found.  Work is very busy this week, so I probably won't get a chance to work on this much until next week.
Anyway, I'm importing movies from my Sony Handycam DCR-TRV20.  I've used iMovie to perform the download from the camcorder (the other products don't support this).  The other products can work directly on the imported .dv files without having to export things from iMovie as a .mov file.  I have not had time to see if there is a quality difference between a burned DVD with .dv clips vs. .mov imported from iMovie.  So my questions regarding iDvd are as follows:
Can iDvd work directly on .dv files, or do you need to import .mov from iMovie?
If iDvd can work with these files directly, is it easy to do things such as clip them and do affects on them?
Is there a quality difference when viewing a burned DVD if .dv files were used vs. imported .mov files?
Since I have later versions of the iLife products than what comes packaged in the iLife that contains iDvd, can you install only iDvd in what is purchased from Amazon?
Thank you very much is you know the answer to any of these questions.

  • ITunes 9.2 upgrade broken - No longer syncs with iPhone 3GS

I just installed the new iTunes 9.2 (and SL 10.6.4) through Software Update.
After rebooting, I find that iTunes 9.2 no longer syncs with my iPhone 3GS.
iTunes sees my iPhone, but opens the "Set up your iPhone" screen. It tells me:
An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer.
[] Set up as a new iPhone
[] Restore from the backup of [my iPhone 3GS]
This is a horrible bug - I do not wish to erase/restore my iPhone 3GS that synced just fine before the reboot, thankyouverymuch
I tried disconnecting and re-connecting my iPhone 3GS, to no avail...

This worked for me on a win7 machine - haven't tried it on my macbook pro machine:
Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows :
    1. Windows XP
    * Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone or iPod touch.
    * Choose Start > Control Panel.
    * Inside the Control Panel, open Administrative Tools.
    * Open Services.
    * Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
    * After the service is stopped, Click Start the service.
    * After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.
    2. Windows Vista
    * Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone or iPod touch.
    * Click the Windows Start button
    * In the Start Search field type Services.
    * In the Programs section of the search results, Click "Services".
    * Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
    * After the service is stopped, click Start the service.
    * After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.
If after restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service you encounters with same problem then reinstall AMD S. For reinstalling just uninstall the iTunes from control panel then navigate to C:/ >> Program Files >> iTunes Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed. Now Restart your computer and Install the latest version of iTunes.
Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Mac OS X :
    # In the Finder, locate iTunes in the Applications folder and drag it to the Trash.
    # Move the iTunes icon to the Trash
    # Choose Go > Go to Folder.
    # Enter /System/Library/Extensions and click Go.
    # Locate the file AppleMobileDevice.kext and drag it to the Trash.
    # Choose Go > Go to Folder.
    # Enter /Library/Receipts/ and click Go.
    # Locate the file AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg and drag it to the Trash. If prompted, authenticate with the admin password.
    # Choose Finder > Empty Trash and restart the computer.
    # Download and install the current version of iTunes www.apple.com/itunes/

  • IPhone 4S (iOS 6) no longer syncing with iTunes

Hi, this is my first post on Apple Support. I have several questions that I hope someone will be able to answer. Some regarding my iPhone, and some regarding my MBP.
For starters, my iPhone 4S is running on iOS 6, and no longer syncs with iTunes. I am no longer able to add new music, I can only manage my photos through iPhoto. I updated to iOS 6 while at the Apple store and was told that everything transferred to my iPhone would now go through iCloud, which I wasn't too happy about. I thought that my phone was no longer syncing because of iCloud, and therefore deleted my iCould account (which didn't have anything important on it anyway), but that did not fix the problem. Rather than syncing, iTunes asks me to restore my phone back to factory settings. I considered doing that, but I don't have a back up on my MBP, so that is out of the question. Also, before restoring, iTunes does not give me the option to back up, which I thought it would.
I would like to know how to make it so that my phone syncs with iTunes again so that I can manage my music etc. Does it have to do with iOS 6, iCloud, my MBP, or what? Is my iCloud still in the picture, even though I have deleted my account? If so, how do I disable it completely?
Second question. On a different, older MBP (not mine, and probably running on old software), I burned a Maxell DVD-R containing just under 4GB of music. However, when I insert the disc in my MBP (running on 10.6.8), the disc reads as blank. I tried restarting with the disc in, as well as ejecting and inserting it several times, but nothing is doing the trick. I'm not sure if it's the brand, my MBP's optical drive, or the fact that it was burned on a computer that is running on earlier software than mine. I've read around on the internet with no luck. I have received two pop-ups, one that says it's blank and another that says it is not readable by my computer. Why?
I've been a long time user of Apple, and rarely have any complaints, but my iPhone is really quite screwed up. The DVD-R issue is not a big deal, but I rely on my iPhone extremely (as most do), and not being able to manage it through iTunes is such a pain. I really hope someone can help!

Wow. I never got back to this, I apologize. Today I started searching around online again randomly for a solution on Apple support. The message I am getting is "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings." I've tried many different things both on my computer and my iPhone such as reseting networks, changing the cellular data options, restarting my modem and restarting the wifi on my computer. None of it seems to work. Even if anything were to work temporarily until iTunes 11, I would love that, but I can't seem to find a temporary fix.

  • IPhone no longer syncs with computer--"Cannot access the iTunes store"

My iPhone 2G has decided to no longer sync with my iTunes. I do not have internet on my computer (I'm doing this on a friend's), so when I connect my iPhone to my computer, an error message pops up that says "Cannot access the iTunes store". Since my iPhone is normally synced manually, I can still drag new files onto it; however, any movies/podcasts on the iPhone keep reappearing even after I've deleted them (from the iPhone itself). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Delete then re-install iTunes & Delete the following files:
The iTunes application (located in /Applications)
    com.apple.iTunes.plist (from ~/Library/Preferences)
    iTunes.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
    iTunesX.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
then re-download the latest version of iTunes.

  • My iphone no longer syncs with outlook 2007

My iphone suddenly no longer syncs with Outlook 2007.  I have checked the Outlook add-ins list.  I can find no solutions.  Apple phone support did not help, genius bar did nto help.  Any suggestions ??

Is it everything that no longer syncs, or is it just one of the things, i.e. just calendar, contacts, notes? Many times as mentioned in the earlier post, it can be caused by a corrupt .pst file. Run the scanpst.exe application that resides in the Office folder. That will run a repair on the .pst file. Go into iTunes and reset the sync history and then try the sync again. If that doesn't help, it is possible there is a corrupt appointment in the calendar. That can cause a problem with syncing.
Try those couple of hints and see if that helps. Come back if it doesn't and let us know some more specifics.

  • Address Book no longer syncs with google contacts

After my switch to Lion, I'm noticing that my address book no longer syncs with my google contacts??
After I update my contacts in address book, it doesn't show up on google contacts and vice versa.
    Is anyone else exprienceing this?

    ¡¡¡Ok, Something worked for me!!!
I have my address book empty, and then this is what I did:
1- Copy Address book app to downloads (or other folder) just to back it up
    2- Install AppCleaner
3- Drag and Drop address book ap into app cleaner, make sure that it references to several files (all .plist files etc.) If there are no external references then try to drag and drop your backup, do it until you see the rest of references (uncheck address book widget)
4- After press clean in AppCleaner, it will delete everything.
5- Put back your address book app backup into your applications folder
6- Open it and if your are lucky you will see all the contacts again, they were like hidden....
Then I deleted all the contacts again and set up google account in preferences again, after that it syncs fine!!!
    Good Luck!

  • ICal mysteriously no longer syncs with my iPhone 3gs via iTunes sync

My iCal mysteriously no longer syncs with my iPhone 3gs via iTunes sync. It worked great until about a month ago. I've made over 300 Calendar changes to my iPhone 3gs' Calendar, but not a single item has synced back to my iCal on my iMac, when I sync my iTunes (which I do almost daily). In addition, I've created some items on my iCal, as a test, and none of them sync onto my iPhone 3gs.
    What gives? Ideas? Suggestions?
    Thanks for your help!

Well, I was able to manually sync my iPhone to my iCal one time, but haven't been able to get it to sync Calendar info since then. It was moderately successful, so I could export an iCal backup file. However, I ended up with about 200 MORE duplicate items on my iPhone, and what's weird is that many of these duplicates do NOT have any "edit" functionality! So I a, stuck with them being on the day they are at right now. Grrrrrr

  • My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes.

My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes.  it tells me it cannot read the contents of the ipod then it says the ipod software server cannot be contacted.  Any suggestions?

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem
    Then try restoring again.

Are you using the original cable that came with Nano and not your iPhone's cable?  Have you worked through the troubleshooting in this Apple support document?

My iPod will no longer sync with my laptop. I keep getting the following message:
"The iPod "JRT's iPod" cannot be syned. You do not have enough access privledges for this operation."
Apple told me tht it was a problem with my Norton 360 software. I have since removed the software and the problem still persists.

    Try
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • After my ipad WIFI upgraded to 5.0.1, I can no longer sync with my PC?

Recently, the new wireless upgrade worked wonderfully.  My ipad is correctly upgraded as of 11/13/11.  For the life of me, I can't figure out why my ipad will no longer sync with Itunes.  I realize that iCloud enables me to push various backups wirelessly, but I still want to sync with my iTunes in order to add playlists and content that will not reside on the cloud.
When I say that it will no longer sync with itunes, I mean that I cannot get either an iPad or iPod Touch to show as being connected or synced with any number of apple USB cables conntected to my PC and iTunes.  Hard resets, computer reboots...since my upgrade, I can no longer connect these devices.  Can anyone tell me why I can't sync?
    Thank you in advance

Minor update:  I have multiple PC's in my office.  This same iPad and other apple devices properly work and sync with their connection to this other computer.  Both computers are running the 64bit iTunes and both have Windows 7 64bit OS running on both machines.  I tried deactivating firewalls and even deleted the iTunes with a fresh installation with no avail.
Something is keeping my Apple mobile devices (iPods, iPads) from being recognized within iTunes.  However, they all are properly recognized by my PC.

  • (iOS 7.1.1) Google Contacts no longer sync with my contacts app

Hello everyone. So recently I noticed that my Google Contacts no longer sync with my Contacts app, and this is really upsetting as I'm a person who needs to have updated contacts and both my phone, as well as a backup on my Gmail account, as I am both a Google and Apple user.
I am using an iPhone 5S, on 7.1.1.
My Settings has my Gmail account signed in, and has the "Contacts" switch turned on. I deleted the account, and re entered it, and I am still not seeing any activities of the Google Contacts and Contacts app syncing.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, so I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some ideas as to what might be going on. I'm real tech savvy but I have no idea what caused my contacts to stop syncing. My Google Calendar events sync just fine, so that's even more confusing.

Okay.. it won't let me go back and edit my earlier postings however... the problem is solved. I went in and Deleted ANY resource that iSync could get it's hands on that it kept in the iSync folder and the SyncServices Folder in the Libray Folder under Users. I actually moved the contents for those folders to a different volume. I then deleted the resources for Palm Desktop making it create a new user account. The Next time I opened iSync.. It went crazy trying to find resources.. it opened Calendar for me and I never saw it open address book but I saw that it was reading Addresses. I then Opened iTunes next and noticed that my full contacts from my address book were put back on my iPod!
Shew!!! one down and one to go. I prayed and added my palm device to iSync. Then I synced and got conflict popups for my Addresses and Calendars asking me how to reconcile ( I was only getting those for the Calendars earlier). I then re-synced and checked my Palm and All of my contacts were in the Treo 650! I then changed a few entries and synced again for a few tests and it appears to be fixed.
This is the problem with gradual upgrades as opposed to clean installs when you update your OS. It's just that OS X doesn't give you that option. in the Pre OS X days I would never just upgrade my OS. I would also Re-Format and Re-install. That's always been my preference.

  • I just updated my iPad 3 to ios 7.02 and can no longer sync with iTunes on my computer running OS 10.5.8. I'm wary about updating to Lion, which may cause any number of apps on my computer to no longer work. Although I may consider purchasing a new laptop

I just updated my iPad to IOS 7.02 and unfortunately can no longer sync with my MacBook running OS 10.5.8. I'm wary about updating to Lion as this may cause any number of apps on my Macbook not to work at all or malfunction. Also my MacBook is 5 years old, and I was thinking about purchasing a new computer. I would like to decide when rather than be forced though. Does anyone have any suggestions for a work around? At the moment I do not subscribe to the cloud, and it looks like that is the only way I can back up my iPad now.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.
