Keynote not accepting powerpoint files via iWork

I just purchased Keynote so I culd work on a MS powerpoint presentation on the plane next week. The documentation say it supports ppt and pptx files type but it i try to up load either via icloud and iwork it say the file tye is not supported . how ever if i connect it to my local version of iTunes and add the doc there all is cool. am I trying to do something that is not supported ? BTW her is te harware specs

I realized that my OS X installation was broken, as I've got other weird behavior from apps even when doing simple tasks. Also, reinstalling iWork from scratch didn't solve it (I erased all related files, to no avail).
Then, after reinstalling OS X everything came back to normal.
I believe the OS broke after I changed my account's short name via finder, but can't tell whether this was the real cause.

Keynote not importing Powerpoint files

I have installed iWork 09 in my computer and made the update online. However, every time I try to open a Powerpoint file I get the message: "Import Error - The resource \U201CADBFDefaultThemeStyleSheet.xml\U201D Couldn\U2019t be loaded." (with these strange errors)
I have already uninstalled (both the program and its preference files), run a permission repair, installed again, updated... all to no avail.
Has everyone had this problem?

Converting a Keynote document to Powerpoint file doesn't work

I tried to convert Keynote documents to PowerPoint files that can be viewed and edited by PowerPoint users on Windows or Mac OS computers. All I got was a error. Can any one tell me how to make this work.I did every thing that was in the instructions.
To create a PowerPoint slideshow:
Choose File > Export and then click PowerPoint.
Click Next.
Type a name and choose a location for the file, and then click Export.

Every slide on my presentation has animated objekts. And every slide is linked (by hyperlink) to every slide on the presentation. So I want to give the user the chance to interrupt and to go to next slide. Therefore is an arrow to klick on, which has a hyperlink to next side (or do go to start, or to go back) - during the slide-animation is working.
That works fine in keynote, but it doesn't work after the export in QT. In QT it is not possible to interrupt the sequence of the animation. When the sequence is (performed) finalized, the klick on the arrow works, and I can go to next slide.
But interruption is not pssible.

You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.

Bluetooth not accepting incoming files

recently my bluetooth will not accept incoming files from my lg viewty and says connection is not possible but it will work with my friends macbook, it allows files to be sent from my macbook to my viewty though.
any ideas whats wrong?

I'm having the same problem. Bluetooth says that everything is fine when I look at the advanced settings except that my phone is not connected. I am able to send files to my phone, but not vice versa. I can browse the folders on my phone, but they are all empty. I have tried shutting both off and restarting and resetting the device connection. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I also think I should mention the fact that the phone did in fact used to work with my macbook before the Leopard update, so I'm almost positive it isn't the phone.

Source structure is not accepting the file

I have imported an external definition but its not accepting the file structure send by user..Its showing redcolour fields in the mapping of the test tab aslo when i pasted the payload..

it seems you have created data and message type for the structure, thats why it is having NS0 tags and XML name space,
even encoding also different.
you have to handle this,best way is convert your test data in to XSD using any XML tool,and import it..it will work.
or
remove XML Name space in message type and try it,i think it will work.

Keynote will not open powerpoint file

     My professor has posted a powerpoint file online and when i try to open it with keynote i get 'Import Error - An Unknown Error has occured'. Is this file simply not compatible or is there a trick to getting pptx files to open on keynote? I'm running a macbook pro 2012 with 10.7.4.

Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its           a freeware application
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > Restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive
          then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Keynote not opining ppt files

I had a trail Iwork 08, keynote used to open all the powerpoint files. however recently it stopped doing so. I bought the software and the same problem continues. basically the moment i click on the file or the program the software lunches but the file never get opened, even if i try to open through file--> open still the same problem. I have updated the software but again same problem.

Do you have iWork '06 on your computer as well? Just making sure there's not problem with that. The good news is that there's nothing wrong with Keynote as it works with another user. The BAD news is that you may have to compare what you have in the folders of each individual user in order to determine why this one user is having a problem.
I wish Apple had something like "Archive and Install" for users... where the OS will copy some of your data (like your desktop icons, dock, etc) to the new user, but clear most of your other preferences. That way, the worst you'd have to do is re-enter some serials and you're back in a familiar work environment, never having to go through would could be a long troubleshooting process. If you find what file was causing you the problem, be sure to post back so other users can know!

Itunes producer does not accept itmsp file

Having a problem with ITPR accepting the .itmsp package. Neither dropping from Finder nor selecting choose and navigating to file will allow file to drop (greyed out via Finder attempt to open).
Not sure what the problem is…I changed “textbook” to Book on first pane in ITPR because this book is not a textbook, but a book of images. I tried to change back to textbook, but that option is no longer available?
Since all the data is entered I would really prefer not to start from scratch….if it is choosing "book" rather than “textbook” which was mistaken, how to undo?
But that is a guess - any other reason ITPR would not accept the .itmsp file but does accept .ibooks file?

No red K T. To make sure we are on the same page (pane): ITPR>ASSETS with two placeholders...
The issue is that ITPR does not recognize the itmsp file - won't accept it. No error return, just nada.
FWIW, I decided to start again because I've become convinced there is a glitch in ITPR (I've written feedback)
This time I set prefs in iba to open itpr on creation of the itmsp. (That is a lot of abbreviations )
ITPR opens up WITH the itmsp file preloaded and accepts the droppped ibooks file. I am currently re entering 32 price listings - a terrible waste of time. Hope you can add the feedback I just have to the iba and itpr teams....

Server 2012 not accepting inputs either via console or RDP

Hello Experts,
I have a server 2012 standard running in a physical box with 3 virtual machines running in hyper-v session. For sometime now, i have been running into strange issues where it does not accept input. I tried via RDP, console; neither method worked. It still
holds AD and file server role. It was all working good and driving me into issues for some time now.
It does not accept inputs via keyboard or mouse either from console or RDP. All resources such as file share, virtual machine are accessible from network. I can logon to server via console or RDP for 3 to 5 min right after server has been hard restarted
and again it stops accepting inputs.
Can someone help me out work around this issue as i am new to server 2012 and not sure what goes in error.

Did you install any software recently? Please try to unistall the new installed software and if you have AV soft disable the AV soft then try again.

Adobe PSE 11 will not accept video files (in slide show)

Although my video files are in a format supposedly accepted by PSE 11, each time I attempt to insert a video file, I'm informed that the file was skipped because it is not one of the acceptable Windows video formats (which is incorrect as the files are in the organizer and listed as acceptable).
How can this be corrected?

Video files are not supported by the Photoshop Elements 11 Editor or any other version of Photoshop Elements (photo editor), but are accepted for placement in the Elements Organizer. The Slideshow Editor is a feature of the Elements Organizer (Windows), and it does not accept video inclusion unless "Windows video formats".
As an example, one of my cameras offers H.264.mov. But can be placed in the Elements Organizer, but are not accepted in the Elements Organizer/Create/Slideshow/Slideshow Editor. This is not something new to Photoshop Elements 11 or Elements Organizer 11.
What is the destination for your Elements Organizer 11 Slideshow...Premiere Elements 11? If so, place these video files in the slideshow once it gets to Premiere Elements after you used the Slideshow Editor command Edit with Premiere Elements Editor. Once the slideshow is in Premiere Elements using that command, you can right click the slideshow on the Timeline, select Break Apart Elements Organizer Slideshow, and do more editing, including video import with Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets to the Timeline.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions or ask for clarification, but what I just described is "it is what it is".

Can not send any file via bluetooth

my 5800 Xpress music can not recently send any msg via Bluetooth. As soon as sending started, the phone will be locked where as no more action possible no keys works the phone does not even switch off by pressing its button otherwise removing the battery. pls help me

The 650D (t4e) is supported in Camera Raw 7.2 which is only available for CS6 and Lightroom 4 but a DNG converter is also available as a free download for Windows and Mac. This is a release candidate product which is well out of beta and almost ready for final release. It expires on 31 October and you would need to download again when the final version is released. But if you are keen to work on your raw files and can’t wait to use them in Adobe software DNG 7.2RC will almost certainly work.

Editor of Photoshop Elements 9 will not accept tif file.

I am wanting to change my tif files to jpegs in order to make a book in Shutterfly. When I highlight a tif file and to the editor I get a message that this file can not be openned. What is causing this problem? and how can I correct it?

Try opening them via camera raw in Full Edit/Expert Mode
File >> Open As
Then choose camera raw from the file format drop down list.
Make sure the bit depth at the bottom is set to 8 bits/channel (not 16)
Then click the Open Image button to the right.
You should then see the image in the PSE Editor interface where you can use:
File >> Save As >> jpeg

NAS Problems! Maxtor Shared Storage II not accepting long file names

Somebody help me!!!! Maxtor Shared Storage II. can't accept beyond certain filename length. And Maxtor says its Mac compatible. What a bull! Now, is there a way for me to do it via ethernet? Or do I have to use a usb cable with matching ends? And once I've reformat it, will everything works just as fine as well? I mean all the capability of the RAID and network?

Thanks for the technical jargon thingy – the hatter – I've been spending the couple of my sleepless hours finding out about the problem that I have came across that FAT32 thingy numerous times.
Next month I'll be turning 32. Lucky for me, I'm not FAT and make sure I won't otherwise I start becoming 'Mac-unfriendly' even though I'm definitely am very compatible.
