Keynote not displaying correctly on second display?

I can't get Keynote 6.0 to display on a secondary screen on OSX 10.9.
I had a similar issue with Aperture but figured out a workaround for it but I can't seem to come up with anything for Keynote.

i guess http://laptopvideo2go.com provides only NVidia drivers. For ATI, go to http://ati.amd.com and download latest XP drivers for Radeon X1600 (not mobility). Then go to http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php and download modtool. After extracting, mod the downloaded driver by following the instructions and install. You will have the latest drivers for your GPU.

  • Color Management Not Working Correctly with 2 Displays

At work I am using two calibrated monitors connected to a Mac Pro. One of the monitors is a hardware calibrated wide-gamut NEC Spectraview, the other one is a software calibrated Apple Cinema Display.
It seems like Adobe products only ever display correct colors for the one monitor that happens to be the main monitor. When “Displays have separate Spaces” is off in the system preferences, it is the monitor that has the menu bar. When that setting is on, it is the monitor that was active while the application launched.
The main monitor always seems to display proper colors, while the secondary monitor shows exaggerated colors. It seems to me, like the applications only ever read the profile for the main monitor.
I have noticed this behavior with Bridge and After Effects. I am not entirely sure about Photoshop, since I only ever use it on the wide gamut monitor, but it seems like it does NOT have the issue. I do not use any other Adobe applications.
I had noticed this behavior back in Snow Leopard while using CS5 and CS6, but I never said anything, because I was using an outdated system. I was now moved to a new Mac with the most current version of Mavericks and the most current Creative Cloud versions of these apps and it seems like the issue remains.

  • Driver problem, x1600, XP not displaying correctly on large display

I am using the ATI x1600 radeon mobility graphics card in my Macbook pro. When running bootcam and XP I try to get it connected to my 1080p television.
I am using XP to play games, so all want is a wide screen resolution, 1280x720, 1360x768 ect. (so it doesn't stretch, I am using 1024x768, looks good, but stretched)
But when i try to get it to display those, it just displays either half the screen, or a little screen in the middle. I try to adjust the display setting on the tv, but smart strech, or strech, or zoom, or dot by dot all do nothing.
One other thing I notice, I tried to get it to display 1920x1080, but it just displays a very short, very long screen in the middle of my TV.
Its clear it has no idea what its doing. I installed the latest drivers, nothing workd right.
    Thanks!
NOTE: I am using a DVI-HDMI cable, same one that I use w/ OSX works fine in OSX.

  • Dashboard widgets not rendering correct for second user account

Hi - on my macbook I have two user accounts. My problem here is that the dashboard widgets do not render correct on the second account.
This goes for most widgets - the typical effect is that the text is not show, as in the unit converter - text is not shown in weather widget - and so on.
If I switch to the other (Admin) account then everything seems to work perfectly. I have tried removing the .plist files and changing the second account to an Admin account but with no luck.
Is there anything else I ought to try?

I hooked up a MacBook to another display via the mini-DVI to DVI adapter but, when I close the lid of the MacBook, the other display goes off. The display settings are set to mirror and this doesn't happen with my MacBook Pro. With my MacBook Pro, I can close the lid and continue working with the monitor connected directly to the DVI port without issues. Anyone have any suggestions as, to use my MacBook this way, both displays remain lit which is kind of pointless. Thanks in advance,

  • Help!...Keynote not scaling correctly in 1.1

Have the recent 1.1 Author update and am using Keynote '09 5.1.1
I made a Keynote presentation at 2048x1536 (Resolution of new iPad with Retina).  All slide sizes are 2048x1536 and have a full page video at 2048x1536.
I imported the Keynote into Author and published to iPad (First Generation)  It plays all the static images fine but when it gets to the video slide, the image goes off the screen.
I thought the new update would be able to handle this correctly?

So in Keynote just keep the resolution at 1024x768 and scale the video to fit within that? Then it should scale as needed?
    Thanks KT

  • Indesign nested style not displaying correctly

Hello, having a little bug here. when i style something that has a nested style, the styling doesn't continue after multiple lines unless i open and close the document... here is a visual example.
the first paragraph is displaying correctly, the second is displaying improperly.
the body colored text (bold cyan) style stops at an "end nested style" character, and the normal paragraph copy style (black) continues after that to the next bullet. but as you can see it won't visually show the new styling until i reopen the document. very weird, correct?
am i making sense? any ideas?

    Mike,
I would edit the first nested style to apply through one bullet (copy n paste a bullet here); or better: set up the paragraph style to make bullets and you could instead charcter style the bullet from the Bullets and Numbering part of the dialog box, and leave it out of the nested style section.
Question: Do you want the blue to cover a set number of lines? Then define a line style, just south of the nested styles part of the dialog box.
If the trick relies on a End Nested Style character embedded, then you are probably doing that because you want random word count lengths for the blue character style to be applied in different paragraphs. Sounds like work, tho, to me, and I would look for a simpler rhythm, if there is one.

  • Problems with FCP and my second display

    Hi everyone !
I'd like to use for my editing and color correction a second display. I bought the JVC DT-V24L1D monitor, and plugged it into my MBP through a matrox mxo.
When inside FCP, I cannot find a way to display the canevas into my JVC screen, it displays the whole screen i already have on my laptop. I read the manual a good hundred times, and by following what is written I just got nothing. Can please somebody help me finding a way to set FCP ? Thanks.

You are probably better off posting this in the FCP forum, where there are several Matrox MXO users, but since I'm one, I'll give it a go.
When you install the Matrox software, you should have a whole new group of easy setups in FCP using the Matrox. If you are working with standard DV footage, choose the appropriate Matrox setup; i.e., Matrox MXO DV NTSC 720x480. There are also setups for HDV, etc.
After choosing an easy setup, and starting a new project, go to the view menu, and set your external video and audio to the same settings as the easy setup, if they aren't already correct.
Using Command/F12, you can switch from your regular display on the 2nd monitor to the FCP canvas.
A couple of other things to mention: for existing projects, you can change all of the above in your sequence settings, and under the View/External Video settings.
And, in system prefs/displays, set up your external display so that it is not mirroring the desktop; then you can create a dual display window arrangement in FCP, so that when you're not using the Matrox for viewing the canvas, you can have an expanded timeline, more space for your browser, etc., etc.
You can save your custom window arrangement, and toggle between it and the Matrox canvas view with the above mentioned Command/F12.

  • Multiple Displays With Single Mini Display Port

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro running Mavericks. I already have a display running from a miniport-to-hdmi adaptor which works great but I'm thinking of adding an additional monitor to the setup.
Is it just as simple as using an hdmi splitter and plugging in the second display or is there something else I need to do?
    Thanks, Dan

    Dan,
for a Mid 2010 model, you’ll need to use something like the Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Mac Edition multi-display adapter with a DVI-to-HDMI adapter to connect your current display. If your current display or your second display has a DVI input port, then no additional adapter would be needed.

Hi Doug! I was having the same problem but after reading a lot of answers I found the solution. First of all you need unistall ALL THE SOFTWARE OF APPLE from your computer, I mean BONJOUR, QUICKTIME, ITUNES, APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT and the other one that is from compatibility with apps of apple, after that you must verify if this folders are removed if they don't then remove it:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
Then if you have ccleaner you can use it to clean all registers left, then reboot and try to install iTunes 11.1.4 again as administrator... That works for me, I hope that helps you too...

  • Slides not displaying correctly

I have a client who has recorded a number of demonstration modules and is finding that certain captured slides are not playing back correctly. When in the main edit view the captured background seems to display correctly, however when it's previewed a large section of the screen appears blank. When I use 'find background in library' and export the background to Photoshop, the .bmp displays with the blank section (as it does when previewed F4 in Captivate). So why is it displaying fine as a background in edit view but not in preview, when published or when exported? Any thoughts much appreciated!! It is like the captured background is almost an animated gif and what I am seeing in the edit view is the second frame. To fix it I am current screen grabbing the correct view in Captivate and re-importing a cropped image as a 'patch' that features the missing elements
    Many thanks for any thoughts
    M

Hi Lilybiri and thanks for getting back
It's done in Captivate 6. Slide quality is JPEG - I changed that as a possible fix.
It's not an FMR slide. As I say the background image is in the background folder of the library - it just doesn't look like the image that appears in the main area in edit view!

  • Mount Points in Windows 2012 R2 Cluster not displaying correctly

    Hi,
    Try
and I might, I can't get Mount Points displayed properly in a Windows 2012 R2 cluster.
In Windows 2008 R2, I added them, and they appear under Storage, as for Example, Cluster Disk 7: Mounted Volume (S:\SYSDB). (I may have had to bring them offline/online).
in Windows 2012 R2, they are showing up as, for example, '\\?\Volume{7c636157-e7e9-11e4-80dc0005056873123}'
In the error log it shows up as :
Cluster disk resource 'Cluster Disk 7' contains an invalid mount point. Both the source and target disks associated with the mount point must be clustered disks, and must be members of the same group.
Mount point 'SYSDB\' for volume '\\?\Volume{7c636106-e7e9-11e4-80dc-005056873123}\' references an invalid target disk. Please ensure that the target disk is also a clustered disk and in the same group as the source disk (hosting the mount point).
Now I've checked the error, and in
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/dd353925(v=ws.10).aspx it says
"The mounted disk and the disk it is mounted onto must be part of the same clustered service or application. They cannot be in two different clustered services or applications, and they cannot be in the general pool of Available Storage in the cluster."
So I have created a 'Other Server' Role. When I go right click on the Role and go to 'Add Storage', Cluster Disk 6 (the root volume) displays S:\, and Cluster Disk 9 (hosting the mountpoint) says Mount Point(s): (S:\SYSDB). I select both, and add, but
alas, the Mount Point still shows up as '\\?\Volume{7c636106-e7e9-11e4-80dc-005056873123}\ (not S:\SYSDB or Cluster Disk 6: Mounted Volume (S:\SYSDB).) as I would expect.
They are both clustered disks (iSCSI). I would expect when it says in the "same group", both added to the same role would be in the same group.

    Hi,
Thankyou for your response. That's (sort of) good to know, but it seems to be a step backwards from Windows 2008 R2, where you would actually have the meaningful Mounted Volume: (S:\SYSDB) displayed, to the meaningless '\\?\Volume{7c636157-e7e9-11e4-80dc0005056873123}'
GUID. Obviously before you do anything, you need to cross reference the disk number to 'Disk Management'; it would be better if is was displayed correctly in Failover Cluster Manager in the first place.
Secondly, the GUID is somewhat misleading. In Windows 2008 R2 for example, it appears as though the same GUID was displayed on each node (e.g. using Mountvol.exe). In Windows 2012 R2, it appears as though different GUID's are displayed on each node, e.g.
    Node 1.
    \\?\Volume{7c6368a4-e7e9-11e4-80dc-005056873123}\
            S:\SYSDB\
    Node 2.
    \\?\Volume{97cc0d34-e7e9-11e4-80db-0050568724c4}\
            S:\SYSDB\
But the GUID in Failover cluster manager remains the same (you can't really cross reference with what you see in FCM to Mountvol).
Strangely enough, when I check the registry in 'MountedDevices' on Node 1, both of the GUIDs are displayed (even though only one is displayed in MountVol.exe),  referencing the same Disk ID listed in Diskpart.exe. I can see this mentioned in
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/959573, where is says :
A volume can be multiple unique volume names (and thus multiple GUIDs) when it is used by multiple running installations of Windows.  This could happen in the following scenarios and in similar scenarios where multiple installations of Windows have
    accessed the volume:
Using a volume on a shared disk in a cluster where multiple nodes have accessed the volume.
Oh well, that's progress I guess.

  • Thai characters not displaying correctly within App

    Hi everyone,
I have a Adobe Flex Mobile app displays Thai text, however this is not displaying correctly. While developing the App on my Windows machine and testing using the Adobe Flash Builder mobile emulator, the font/characters look correct.
However when running the app on either the MAC Adobe Flash Builder emulator, the iPhone simulator or on an actual iPhone, the font/characters are incorrect.
First I thought that it was maybe an encoding issue (I am using locale properties files to replace text), so followed instructions at this website Flash Builder, Flex language bundles showing strange symbols. Not utf8 encoded.Sefol however this did not solve the issue.
Looking more closely at the text rendered, it looks as though all of the characters for each word are actually being rendered, but they are just being rendered in correctly. Where as if it was a encoding issue then it would be missing characters completely.
So if you look at the first character, in the correct version it is built up of 3 components. If you look at the second image, you can see that these three components are present but just not all appearing within one character.
Is this a font issue? or is it actually an encoding/rendering issue?
My code for testing this is just a simple label tag
    <s:Label text="ชื่อผู้ใช้" fontFamily="Arial" fontSize="12" />
    Many thanks.

Ok so after doing a bit more of an investigation into the Font being the issue and not the encoding type, it seems as though if I use a specific font which I know has the Thai characters, then they are displayed correctly.
I have embedded the font into the App using the code:
    [Embed(source="../assets/Kinnari.ttf", mimeType="application/x-font", embedAsCFF="true", fontFamily="ThaiFont")]
      private var ThaiFont:Class;
Then on my UI I have added the font:
    <s:Label text="ชื่อผู้ใช้" fontFamily="Arial" fontSize="12" fontFamily="ThaiFont" />
I was able to find this font at a Hawaiian Educational website! Thai fonts :: Thai Language Program, University of Hawai'i, Manoa
    Thanks @tooMuchTrouble for your help.

  • JPG images not displayed correctly in Bridge and Photoshop (Mac OS)

(Note: I have copied the content of this query from the Creative Suites forum where I originally opened it.)
I am using CS4 under OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G5 Quad with 23" Apple cinema display. Images which have been captured as JPG are displayed fine by Preview, but when opened in Bridge, Camera Raw or Photoshop. the colours are all "washed out". The attached screen capture should give an idea of the difference, with the upper being Camera Raw (image settings) and the lower being Preview. My monitor has been calibrated and I'm using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour space in Camera Raw and Photoshop. The colours displayed by Preview are pretty close to "real life". I find it virtually impossible to adjust the colours in Photoshop to get back to anything similar.
After opening the image in Photoshop without adjustment, and Save As JPEG with embedded color profile, Preview displays the new image the same as Photoshop. Save As JPEG without embedded color profile, and Preview displays this copy just like the original. It seems that Photoshop is making different (incorrect) assumptions about what color space to use when there is no embedded color profile. Shouldn't it assume sRGB like virtually everything else (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB)? Or is its interpretation of sRGB incorrect? How can I fix this?
Re: JPG images not displayed correctly in Bridge and Photoshop

    xxxxyyyyz wrote:
…If there is someone out there who has experience of obtaining decent colour management in CS4 on a Power PC, I would really like to know how you achieved it.
That would be yours truly, and I hasten to reply because I may have some insights that can help you too.
Just get it it out of the way, here's my setup:
Photoshop 11.0.2 ("CS4"); VersionCue disabled and uninstalled.—2.5 GHz Power Mac (PPC) G5-Quad; 16GB RAM; mutant, flashed 550MHz nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 1,700MHz 512MB VRAM; ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D LP SCSI card; Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 boot drives; Spotblight, Dashboard and Time Machine permanently disabled; dual 22" CRT monitors; USB wireless 'n' available but connected to the Internet via wired Ethernet; 1 FW flatbed scanner; 2 SCSI scanners (one tabloid-size transparency scanner and a film scanner); various internal & external HDs; FW Epson 2200 and Ethernet Samsung ML-2850ND printers; 2 X Back-UPS RS 1500 XS units.
I can unambiguously and in good faith represent to you that my color management, from capture to print, is as spot-on as anyone with any kind of setup can hope to achieve.  Unequivocally and without qualifications.
Now, first things first:  Forget about trying to synchronize color management across the point applications lumped together only by Adobe marketing fiat into a variety of meaningless "creative suites".  Concentrate on Photoshop.  Do not try to use Bridge to synchronize anything.
The "suites" are a totally artificial construct created by Adobe bean counters and marketing types.  The point applications (i.e. the individual programs clumsily bundled together, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) are developed independently by separate engineering teams that are not only not in the same building, but in different cities, different states of the American Union, and even in different countries.  They have very little communication among them, if any, as evidenced by repeated posts in these forums by Photoshop engineering staff urging us, the end users, to let the other teams know in their own forums that a given problem exists and is actually affecting our work.
Enough said about the cause of the problem.  The end result is that Color Management is at very, very different levels of progress and sophistication in each individual point application, with only Photoshop fully entitled to be considered state of the art.
Secondly, a disclaimer:  I have been hanging on to my CRT monitors and take care of them as Jascha Heifetz used to take care of his Stradivarius.  I don't know what I will do if I manage to outlive the usefulness and accuracy of my CRTs (unlikely at this point).  I have despaired in futile efforts to bring the luminosity of any LCD monitor down to where I would feel comfortable calibrating and profiling it.  I believe my monitors are the foundation of my color management efforts.
Especially if you have one of the extreme wide-gamut LCD or LED monitors, you'll face an uphill battle.
Be careful to avoid any version 4 icc profiles, whether canned or generated by your calibration software.  Stick to version2 icc profiles.  Ask the manufacturer of your calibration software/hardware if in doubt.
Here are some not-too-recent, but thoroughly representative screen shots of the calibration results I obtain with my monitors, which I calibrate and profile often and regularly (I validate the calibration at least several times per month).
In a nutshell, my color management practices and settings mirror those described by Bruce Fraser, Jeff Schewe, Andrew Rodney and Gary Ballard's site.  I have learned from all of them.
My working color space is ProPhoto RGB.  I choose to work with PSD and PSB files.  As a long-time, rabid JPEG hater, I only rarely deal with JPEGs, using them sporadically to illustrate a point in this forum or elsewhere in the web.  My main output consists of prints.
I only deal with tagged image files (files with an embedded color profile) and often recommend beating up with a baseball bat any moron that hands you an untagged file—figuratively of course, but I find the expression gets my point across unambiguously.
Following is a screen shot of some of my pertinent settings:
Note that I have never bought into the "suite" concept myself.  I do have and routinely use Adobe Illustrator 10.x, InDesign 2.x and Acrobat Professional 8.x, but they are all older, independent versions of each point application, licensed at different times.
Be further advised, that the answer to many problems offered by Adobe engineers often is not to install VersionCue, or uninstall it, or at least disable it.
Also, as outlined at the beginning of this post, concentrate on Photoshop, not on synchronizing applications that can't really communicate with each other, despite the claims of Adobe marketing hacks to the contrary.
One big caveat, do not fall into this trap:
    xxxxyyyyz wrote:
…I believe my problem has nothing to do with my monitor profile, for several reasons, but…
…It seems extremely unlikely to me that…
You either want to learn, or you don't.  You either want to solve your problems, or you don't.
When you start arguing instead of studying, questioning advice instead of following it and detecting where you went wrong, you're on the right track to nowhere.  That attitude will get you there fast.  Remember you are the one with the problem, and only you can acquire the discipline to learn how to solve it.
Go ahead and ask me anything that is not clear, just don't argue with me please, and don't tell me why you think Fraser, Rodney, Ballard and I are wrong.  You see, I am not experiencing any problem that needs fixing.  I have an interest in helping you, but not in hearing about your speculations, theories or conclusions.
    Good luck.
