Keynote, Numbers and Pages are displayed as Top Free, but charges fee.

Hi All,
In the first page of Appstore Keynote, Numbers and Pages are displayed as Top Free. But when I try to get them from AppStore it charges fee. How can I get them free?
Thanks in advance.

Asked and answered at least a dozen times in this forum in the last week. Please always do a search before posting.
The iWork apps are currently free to some folks who qualify.
If someone bought a new Mac since ! OCT 2013, iWork is free.
If someone owned the previous version of iWork and upgraded to OS X Mavericks 10.9, the newest version of iWorks for Mavericks is free.
Otherwise, these are usually paid apps.

  • After Mavericks, Keynote, Numbers and Pages don't update to latest version.

OK, I already had the latest Keynote, Numbers and Pages installed for Snow Leopard.
I have upgraded to Mavericks and then updated those softwares.
The thing is that those won't update to the latest versions. When I open any of them it shows the previous (old) version and not Keynote 6, Pages 5 and Numbers 3.
    Any ideas?

Marcos, the Keynote, Numbers and Pages are not replacing the old version. if you have updated through the AppStore you have the new version and the old version installed in your computer!
Go to the spotlight search and type the name Keynote, Numbers and Pages and you will see the icon of the new and old app. double click the new icon and voila you have the new version of the iWorks.

  • Why do I have to update Keynote,Numbers, and Pages on a daily basis?

For the past week I've had to update Keynote, Numbers, and Pages on a daily basis? If I update the apps today, tomorrow I will be asked to update them again.Something is wrong with picture.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.

I purchased keynote, numbers, and pages when i bought my macbook air in late september. the december update will not load because it says i do not own the software and returns an error messgae 100. i have read manuals and looked over the web but i cannot figure out how to get this software update to identify that i do own these three pieces of software. they are installed and usable. any ideas would be appreciated before i call apple support.
This is my first mac so i am still learning...
    thanks

First, make sure you are logged into the App Store with the same AppleID that you used to purchase the apps.
If that is not it, look in the App Store under Purchases. Are they there?
If not, go into your account in App Store and click the link to show hidden purchases.
If they are still not there, use the support link in the App Store.
If they do show up, copy all the apps to an external drive, then remove them from your Mac. Go to the App Store, Purchases, and install from there.

My mac didn't inculde, the apps keynote, numbers and pages. why?

You have to download the apps from the Mac App Store using the Apple ID that you registered your MacBook Pro with. Should be same Apple ID that you used to access this forum.
    Good luck,

  • Numbers and pages are not working.. need help

hello i been chatting with Genius Bar team today earlier on, we heve got to the stage when we created Test User profile and figured that Numbers andPages are running in it, it suppose to mean that the is a way to fix those applications settings in order to make them work in the original Profile... can someone tell me what has to be changed in the settings.... Lots of thanks in advanced!!!

You are accidentally launching the wrong version of Numbers (and Pages).
The previous version (which you are launching, probaby from your dock) were moved to the folder "/Applications/iWork '09"
the new Versions are located in the folder "/Applications"  You should be sure you are launching the correct version.  If you ane not sure compare the icons:
I have moved both to my dock to be certain which one I am running:
              Version                              Version
                   2.3                                   3.x

  • Keynote, numbers and pages won't open on 10.9.3

I haven't used Keynote, numbers or pages for several months and now they won't open.  They start to load but then they stop and disappear off the bottom application bar.

    Hello JeffreyK71
The first thing to try is to see if this does the same thing in a new user. Also if you downloaded the apps from the Mac App Store, you can delete the apps and then download them again. Check out the articles for more detailed information on how to resolve the issue

Hide the three apps in the Trash and redownload them from the Purchases pane.

  • How to add keynote, numbers and pages to profile manager

    Hi
I'm using the app Profile Manager on a Mac Mini with OS X Server Mavericks.
I don't want to install Pages, Numbers and Keynote on this server but I would want to install those apps om my iMacs.
Can someone tell me how I can achieve this?
I'm from Belgium and at the moment of speaking the VPP isn't avaible to me.

Best practice without VPP is to deploy a copy of every app via Apple Remote Desktop, assuming that you have the correct number of licenses.
You can still buy them at the Apple BE Business Store ...
    For example, Pages :
    1-19 seats : http://store.apple.com/be-nl-business/product/D6101ZM/A/pages?fnode=000104090a
    20+ seats : http://store.apple.com/be-nl-business/product/D6012ZM/A/volumelicenties-voor-pag es-vanaf-20-seats?fnode=000104090a

  • Keynote Numbers and Pages

I want to manage some documents on my iPhone4 from my mac. On my Mac I have Microsoft Office 2011 and I wasn't sure if I need Pages/Numbers/Keynotes (APP STORE THINGS) on both my phone and computer. Are they compatible in Microsoft Office? Do I need all three? I just want to view/edit/make documents on my phone like If I left it at home on the computer and need it for class in 30 mins type situation. Thanks

    Hi D,
Since you already have MS Office 2011 for Mac on your computer, you can always get Docs to Go from the app store for your phone.  That way, you can save/migrate your documents to your phone and be able to work on them as needed.
To purchase iWorks, you would need to purchase for both your Mac and your phone - different operating systems for each.  With Docs to Go, just one purchase and it works with all of your MS Office 2011 products, i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    Good luck with your decision!

  • HELP! Can't run Keynote, Numbers and Pages in Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard

I just installed iWork 09, but I can't run every program, the message shows:
Keynote cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Keynote works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X.
I tried restarting the Mac and install it again, same message. I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard.
    Please help

I had the very same problem, after upgrading from 10.6.5 to 10.6.6
Nobody could tell me exactly what happened. The only way I could make them work again was formatting the HD and reinstalling Mac OS X 10.6, install the 10.6.6 combo upgrade, and then install iWork 09 again. That should work.
If you are using Time Machine as backup, do not, and I mean, DO NOT reinstall the user from the backup, because it will install the very same OS x 10.6.6 you previously had. Install OS X as I mentioned above, and then use Migration Assistant to recover your files. For the programs, install them again from the installations disks. I know it is a lot of work, but it won't work in any other way, at least it did not for me.

  • Isn´t keynote, numbers and pages free after installing Mavericks?

I tried to download numbers after installing Mavericks and it still shows it´s $19,99 price. Any work around?
Is there any special instruction regarding this?

    Hi Dahveed,
I'm still confused i have the Mac versions of  iWork 08 installed from DVD and still the app store is not offering me the latest version of iWork for free which is what the macworld article states below should be happening..
Is this a problem with the app store?
    Regards
    Alistair
If you don’t own iLife '11 or iWork ’09 apps (or v1 iOS apps), or own older Mac versions: On the iLife side, you’ll have to buy iMovie and iPhoto at full price ($15 or $5, depending on platform). GarageBand is free for everyone to download, though the app does offer in-app purchases. Apple’s iWork apps are each $20 for the Mac, $10 on the iPhone or iPad.

  • Keynote, Numbers, and Pages Crash

Since updating to ios5 and the latest versions of iWork for the iPad, all programs keep crashing.  I can't open anything.  I've tried all the usual fixes, but nothing works.  Would love some advise from Apple before I go APE!  I cannot rely on my iPad now for keynote presentations.  ICloud will not download new items from the cloud too - just hangs.

I had the problem of numbers crashing down every time I wanted to keep working with a previously made spreadsheet. The fact is that that was the only spreadsheed that would crash when trying to edit it and indeed, it is the assistance template.
I had made more sheets from zero and those ones remained unaffected.  Reinstalling the app did not work and it kept collapsing, so I came up with the idea of duplicating the problematic sheet and erase the original one and it just worked. I can now keep working with my data without crash. I hope this helps to guide anybody who might have the same problem as I did, fortunately the issue didn't get bigger just affecting one spreadsheet.
Hope you have luck people and that Apple faces its issues, for we have paid for this apps and they just MUST.
