Keynote, pages & numbers - Are they chargeable or free?

I wanted to install these app into my macbook pro, but wondering if they are free or chargeable?
It was under TOP FREE categories but it shows purchase amount, I got a little bit confused.
Please advice.

The iWork applications are free if; you purchased a Mac or iWork 09 from October 2013 onwards.
The iLife applications are free and are installed using the Mac App Store application.

***For those that purchased iWork 09 not on the app store but as a retail disk copy you can get the update for iWork even though it may show $19.99 for all the apps:
You can reupdate to iWork 9.3 by going here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563
then after it is updated close the app store if opened then open it again and sign out then sign in and then all the iwork 2013 apps should show as update rather than $19.99 cost each. This worked for me. I bought iwork '09 on disk but it showed 19.99 each after I upgraded to Mavericks so followed the above steps and it worked. I am now updating all my iWork suite I bought on disk, NOT on the Mac app store and now I have a Mac app store set!
Apple sure has a problem that needs to be fixed otherwise iWork will eventually be free for everyone...
Someone at Apple forgot all of us old retail people before the Mac App store existed!

HT1338 My Mac says updates were installed for Keynote, Pages & Numbers but when I check the versions they are still the old versions.

My Mac says updates were installed for Keynote, Pages & Numbers, however, the version number shows to be the old version... If check for updates, it's telling me no updates are available...

The old versions are not removed when the new versions are installed. (The updates add features that improve cross-platform editing of files but remove many other features so the install leaves the old version in case the old features are important to you). If you look in your applications folder you should find both versions.

Just wondering when are the Pages, Keynote and Numbers App going to be free to download on the OS X Mavericks?

day before yesterday, suddenly i got an upgrade reminder for 'pages' from the apple in my appstore account. when I clicked upgrade, it downloaded the full 'pages'.
I am wondering if apple charge me money for that. well, recently i installed new os x mavericks !

How do i get free keynote, pages, numbers for my Macbook Pro 15inch?

Hi i would like to check whether i am able to get any free keynote, pages, numbers on my Macbook Pro 15inch. I bought my macbook on 25th Nov 12. My version is updated to OS X Maverick.

For software discs, there are two cases:
a) came with 10.6. In this case order the replacement DVD from Apple.
b) came with 10.7. In this case there may be no replacement discs. Start up with Command-R and install 10.7 from the Internet.
This varies slightly depending on EXACTLY which model you have.

They are free to People who have purchased ios devices after a cetain date(September 2013).
Those that have devices purchased before then have to pay.

Imovie/keynote/pages/numbers

i accidentally deleted my imovie on my new iphone6. how do i get it back? my itunes already auto synced and backed up after i deleted imovie. the reason why i deleted it because my keynote/pages/numbers/garage band/imovie were all not working. they couldn't be opened or load. please advise on both queries...

I understand that you deleted iMovie from your iPhone and would like to get it back. To re-download past purchases or downloads, please follow the steps located in the first attached article.

To troubleshoot your other applications that are not opening, I would first suggest closing those applications completely and then opening them fresh. To perform this task, please follow the instructions in the next attached article.

Page numbers are repeating in Page Thumbnail view.

Using Adobe Actobate XI Standard with Windows. When I in insert another adobe document into my current document (by either using the tool Insert from File or dragging it from another screen), my page numbers in the thumbnails get the same page number. For example, original document is 5 pages, insert a page 6 from somewhere else and it is now listed as a second page 5. Insert a page 7 and now I have three that are labeled page 5. How can I stop/fix this. Thanks

Those are page labels, not page numbers, and they don't have to be in order, or to use the same scheme.
To set them all as the actual pages numbers click the Options button in the Pages panel and then select Number Pages. Select "All" and then your numbering scheme and you're done.

I can't remove keynote, pages, numbers, or any microsoft applications from my dock. Please Help!

I have been trying to clean up my dock, but i can't remove certain items from my dock. I can't remove keynote, pages, numbers, or any microsoft applications. When I was trying to delete the apps they were not running or in use. I tried dragging the icons to the trash bin and I also tried dragging the icons away from the dock, but they just kee bouncing back to the dock. Please help!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Try deleting the Dock settings file. Open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, delete "com.apple.dock.plist", and finally, open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities) and type:
killall Dock
This will restore Dock to factory settings, so iWork applications and Microsoft apps will be deleted from Dock

The footer is not only to the left. To get the page number to the right you can use Format > Align right. That will make all page numbers move to the right. Is that what you want?

When I convert a Word doc to PDF, some of the page numbers are missing.

I'm using Word 2003 and Acrobat Pro 7.0. When I print out the Word doc all the page numbers are there, but when I concert to PDF most of them are missing. Any suggestions?

How are you converting? What are the job settings for the PDF conversion? What if you print to the Adobe PDF printer?

thank you for the info... however I'm done buying pdf readers.... I've got three now, that should suffice.
I don't think there's a problem such as you mentioned because the pages are all similar : text and drawings. Some of the pages with drawings work, other similar pages don't.
I converted with Calibre to epub format and this seems to work !!!
So good so far...
Now I need to find a conversion to pdf to allow me to use goodreader or iannotate.
Basically... the text is ok, because a conversion allows reading. So a shortcoming by Apple in my opinion. Again, all pdf's should be readable on such an expensive tool !!!

Why is Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and iPhoto all under the free category in the app store but say they cost money? Are they really free? Should I download them?

HELP! I need these softwares for educational purposes ASAP! I'm not sure whether or not I should purchase any of them, due to the fact they are under the free category, yet if I click each app they all say to "buy now" for a certain price. This is questionable to me, and I am unsure what the real cost of them are before I attempt to make any purchases or not. If anyone could let me know soon please, that'd be great. Or if there are any other trust worthy sites for a free download that would be great too if you could just list the process THANK YOU! (:

All Apple computer come with the iLife suite of App totally free and they are installed on your Mac by the factory when it was built and shipped.
Those iLife apps are iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand on Mac computers that came with any of the Download Only version of OS X, Lion Mt Lion and Mavericks and also include iDVD and iWeb on older Mac computers that came with OS X Snow Leopard or previous version of OS X.
If they are not already on your Mac then you can reinstall them from either the Mac App Store, for Mac's that came with Lion, Mt Lion or Mavericks, or from the Original System Reinstall DVD discs on older Mac that came with Snow Leopard or previous version of OS X.
You need to post what model year Mac you are using and whether or not you bought it new from Apple or an Autherised Apple reseller.
As for the iWork set of applications, Pages, Numbers and Keynote, those you need to buy from the Mac App Store unless you purchase your Mac New from Apple or an Authorized Apple reseller on or after October 21 2013.
So what model year Mac do you have and did you buy it new.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are not able to find 3 applications on the computer. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
