Keynote/Pages on ipad

Do you have use of all the features in Keynote and Pages on the ipad. I want to develop presentations on my Mac and run them on the ipad mini or ipad with retina display.

I don't have Keynote but I do have Pages. The iOS apps don't have all of the features of the desktop versions. They are stripped down and a lot more basic in function. I can tell you that you lose some formatting and that the fonts are more limited in the iOS version of Pages, so your files are not going to be exactly like they are on the Mac.
You can create presentations on the iPad with Keynote and you can create documents on the iPad with Pages, you just don't get the whole "soups to nuts" features that you get in the Mac versions.

  • I have pages and keynote on my iPad, how to i make them work on mac air i have bought later

i have Pages and Keynote, and others of course, on my iPad, how to i make them work on mac air i have bought recently ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The iPad uses iOS, and your MacBook Air uses OS X, which are different operating systems with different apps.
iWork apps (Keynote, Pages and Numbers) have got two version: for OS X and for iOS. You already purchased Keynote and Pages for iOS, so you can install them in all your iPhones, iPads and iPods touch for free, but not in the MacBook Air, because the iOS version isn't supported. You have to buy Keynote and Pages for OS X in the Mac App Store for your MacBook Air.
To access to the Mac App Store, press its icon in the Dock or go to  > App Store

  • Reset iPad unable to download free Keynote, Pages etc

I have an ipad mini from my colleague. It has been reset and all data erased but I'm unable to get the free Keynote, Pages etc after I set up using my Apple ID

Those apps are not free for old devices.  You get them free with a new device.

  • How to download ibooks, keynotes, pages... on my ipad from UAE itunes store

I have an itunes store account in UAE. There are many apps I can't download from the UAE app store. For example, ibooks, keynotes, pages, numbers, none of these apps can be downloaded. Also app store doesn't run on ipad in UAE how come?

is the iPad already available in UAE ?
i have a fancy it isn't and you got yours on a trip to the US, right ?
when the iPad is officially launched in your country, Apple will probably also make iPad apps available in the store there.

  • Cannot update my keynote, pages and numbers from my ipad. I have different accounts, one for app store and other for icloud. What can I do?

Cannot update my keynote, pages and numbers from my ipad. I have different accounts, one for app store and other for icloud. What can I do?

You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your iCloud ID for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

I paid for pages, numbers & keynote for my ipad. Do I have to pay again to get these apps on my macbook air?

You do have to pay, but you're not paying again. iWork apps for OS X are not the same as the iOS versions.

  • How can I make a .gif file work in Keynote on my iPad Mini?

How can I make a .gif file work in Keynote on my iPad Mini?
Have saved a .gif file to my Camera Roll, and it works fine as I have checked it through mail. When I import it into Keynote however it won't animate. Even when I play slide. Any suggestions?

The can use apps such as Apple's Pages app for Word documents and Numbers for Excel spreadsheets, and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

  • *** - no footnotes & endnotes in Pages for iPad?!

OK - I just got an iPad and am in general fairly happy about it. But I had a big *** moment, after I purchased Pages and tried to open a document I had been working on on my Mac. Guess what - iPad Pages won't import footnotes and endnotes!
Does anyone know if Apple is planning on changing this in an upcoming release? This is truly unacceptable. How can Apple expect all of its student customers to use it, not to mention other academics? This strikes me as a large portion of their customer base. What's worse, the advertising leads one to believe that, besides some complex formatting, everything you can do on Pages for Mac can also be done on Pages for the iPad.
Has anyone found a workaround to this 'bug'? I don't know whether Apple did this intentionally or not, but it's a very serious drawback of the app.
I will tell my student friends not to download Pages for iPad, until this is fixed. Apple - get with it!
A loyal but disappointed Apple customer

I agree with most of what you are trying to get across, except that I think there are a few problems when applied to the issue at hand (footnotes on iPad Pages).
    1) Yes, I agree the OP could have found out. I haven't bought an iPad yet, and this is one of the reasons (along with issues with Keynote), and the fact that I until these things are solved, my MacBook Pro works fine. However, here are a few lines right from Apple's product page on the iTunes store...
    - View and edit existing documents by importing Pages '09 or Microsoft Word files from Mail attachments or web.
    - Share your work by exporting to Pages '09, Microsoft Word, or PDF and sending it via Mail. …
    - Transfer documents between Mac or PC and your iPad using File Sharing in iTunes.
Now, combine that with the fact that this isn't called 'Pages Lite' or iPadMiniWrite... one sure gets the impression that things are going to be more seamless. Not even a little asterisk noting some feature difference in files or that you lose certain document aspects when going back and fourth. You'd have to be fairly tech-savvy to pick up the word 'export' and 'import' and imply this from that. One would guess that for MS Word or some other word processor, but not when the app has the same name and the above statements are made.
    2) Yes, I realize footnotes aren't trivial, but they are a basic feature of every word-processor I've ever used (mail merge probably as well)..... I'm pretty sure even back on computers with several times less processing power and RAM than the iPad has. There are some incredibly complex applications for the iPad. Unless there is some really crazy limitation I can't conceive of, footnotes aren't a technical limitation issue.
    3) I'm not blaming Apple for anything other than being pretty unclear about this. Make it clear... then let the user decide. While I love Apple, this is walking a pretty fine line near deception IMO. I do remember finding this out and being somewhat ******-off at the time because I had been tricked after the keynote (speech), and reading EVERYTHING I could find on the topic. This didn't come out until some real reviewers got their hands on one and discovered and exposed it. I certainly wasn't the only one who was shocked by this. That isn't cool, and isn't the Apple I know.
    4) I don't really think it is an unfair complaint. This is something Apple should implement (and hopefully will)... and be clear about until then. At the very least, if the iPad can't support footnotes, it should at least somehow preserve them in the file so that if you save and go back to the desktop, it hasn't stripped them out.
BTW, sorry for inferring you were a fanboy... and welcome to the world of Apple. I think you'll find that long-time Apple users can be extremely critical of Apple products when we feel they aren't living up to expectations in some way. And, believe it or not, Apple often does listen..... which I think is at least part of what has made them a great company.

  • How do I copy and paste a webpage into keynote using my iPad?

How do I copy and paste a webpage into keynote using my iPad?

Sounds like you are not in Mountain Lion and have updated to Pages 5 on Mavericks.
Images in cells ahs been removed by Apple along with over 90 other features in Pages 5.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Those apps are for iOS devices (iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches), if you want to install them on your Mac then you will need to buy the Mac versions of them e.g. from the Mac App Store program on your Mac.

  • Will Keynotes for the iPad soon be able to export as PowerPoint

I want to use the keynotes app on my iPad to make a PowerPoint for French. I can get power points from my computer to go my iPad, but I can't export my presentations from the app onto PowerPoint. I saw that the keynotes for the Mac can save as PowerPoint, will the keynotes app for the iPad be able to export as PowerPoint in the future?

Yoshi you need a icloud.com account which will link your apple id to it.
When you signin you will see a app that looks like iwork app then you click on it and it will take to the place where the powerpoint, word, excell are store. After you click on the iwork app on icloud there should be a chose to choose the keynotes, pages, number right i  the  upper middle of the screen. Choose the keynotes option then upper right corner of your computer s rescreen there should be a icon that looks like a gear click on it and there should be an option to upload your powerpoint to icloud account the  go to your ipad than click on the keynote app and it should be upload to your ipad then you can view on your ipad.
