Keynote paragraph styles bug

This bug is from the Keynote 6 and I was hoping for the solution in any update, but even in the Keynote 6.2 this happens.
If you create a new slide, select the title, go to the Paragraph Styles and click plus 10 times, the Paragraph Style will disappear. Every time, if try to select a diferent Paragraph Style and scroll, it will disappear.
This limits the Paragraph Styles number of styles.
Anyone else has that bug?

Yes, I have this bug. View All Keynote Paragraph Styles
When I scroll down the list they disappear so I can't see what I'm clicking.

  • How do I show table paragraph styles in keynote 6.1 (mac)?

    Hi community,
I am tryying to apply changes to paragraph styles in keynote 6.1 (mac). But in the list which opens when i click in the triangle only the basis paragraph styles are seen.
Any ideas how and whre i can find theses styles.
    Thanks
    slyrs

I am sorry that I cannot make myself clear - perhaps because of my language competence
    1) There is a table style (for the whole table)
And there are PARAGRAPH-styles for the text-attributes of the text in the table-cells (bold, italic, size, font etc.). I would call this a paragraph-style. This can be seen here:
But this style cannot be edited or changed because it does not show up in the dropdown of the parapgrah-styles - as can be seen here:
You DO NOT FIND the paragraph-style ("Absatzstil" in German) "Tabellenstil 1" in the dropdown.

  • Following Paragraph Style - a bug?

I have a list style that is currently active. I am on that list style now and over in the More section of the Text pane in the inspector, I choose a paragraph style as the "Following Paragraph Style". However when I hit return (to start a new paragraph) from the list style, the menu selection in the Following Paragraph Style changes to "same" (which results in the corresponding effect in the following paragraph, i.e. I end up having the characteristic of the list style I had before I hit return.
I am assuming this is a bug?
    Thanks,
    Kenneth

I still don't quite understand what you're trying to do, but it might help to understand how following style works. It's not very useful except when used in a defined style. In your example, I think when you hit return, the new paragraph took on the following style you'd set. That style, though, had its following style set to Same, which is why the pop-up changed back.
Try this in a new document:
    Show the styles drawer.
Apply the paragraph style "Body Bullet"
In the text inspector, change the following style to "Title"
Click on the red triangle next to "Body Bullet" in the styles drawer.
    Select "Redefine Style from Selection"
Type some text and press return, type more text.
The paragraph which follows the body-bullet style has the style you set as the following style, "Title."
    Press return again, more text.
The next paragraph has the style "Body," the following style of "Title".
Something which might be more useful would be to set Body Bullet's following style to Body. Then you could apply Body Bullet, and get a bulleted paragraph. As you are typing, each subsequent paragraph would be Body until you applied Body Bullet again.

  • Adding new "Paragraph Styles"

    Hi,
I am trying to modify different text styles in different cells in Numbers 3.5.2 (Yosemite) and I cannot figure out how add a new Paragraph Style to the existing drop-down styles list. Is there a duplicate existing style or add a new style option in this Numbers version? The "+" next to "Paragraph Styles" in the drop-down list does not work in Numbers but works in Pages or Keynote, is this a bug?
    Thanks for the help!

I found the answer and posting it in case others have the same issue.
A text inside the cell has to be selected for the "+" sign to be activated, just selecting an empty cell alone does not activate the "+" sign.

  • How do I stop ID from assigning a paragraph style to the TABLES?

In-Design is adding "H1" paragraph style to EVERY table is inserted, so the table headers formatting is affected by that H1 style.
I guess it chooses H1 because it's the FIRST style I created (and then modified the "basic paragraph" to modify the rest of default text).
    It's like it's adding "Style_ID=1"
I tried placing the character in different places, to make sure it's not the style the cursor is in which is inherited, and no, no matter where I place the cursor, when I "insert table" the cursor is automatically placed into the first cell (header cell) and the paragraph "H1" is selected (and applied)
Adding a table with NO headers does the same, so it's not me that confused style names and applied some to the wrong place.
H1 is not used and table and cells styles are not based in it.
I don't know whether it's a bug, but IT FEELS like a bug.
How do I expect it to work?
I expect that by creating a table, NO style be applied other than the table's. (Not even the basic one)

You might have set the default paragraph style for the document (which you set by selecting a paragraph style with no text frame selected) to your H1 paragraph style.
Make sure it's on "Basic paragraph" when you select the type tool..

  • Pages 5.1 - Styles bug

    Hi everyone,
I was very glad that Apple updated Pages.
But I noticed a strange bug in 5.1 version.
On one of my documents (a big one updated from a previous version of Pages) containing a bunch of styles, does not "wok as it should). Now, whent I scroll the (how do you say in english ?) style menu in the format section (see image) styles becomes blank.
It seems this bug occurs with my Macbook pro retina only (not such problem with my iMac).
    Can somebody help ?
When I come back to the menu, styles have reappeared but always the same scroll bug !
Both images befor and after scrolling the menu :
    f
    Best regards.
And forgive my clumsy english : I am french !

Just to let you know, I have had the same problem since I started using Pages 5.0 on my MacMini.
I reported that bug to Apple through their developer Bug Reporter some time back...
    This was my report:
    09-Dec-2013 10:33 PM
Summary: When the number of paragraph styles becomes very high, the scrolling paragraph styles pane stops displaying text and becomes unusable.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Launch Pages 5.0 or 5.0.1
    2. Go to Format Inspector, Paragraph styles, and access the pop out paragraph styles selection pane.
    3. Click on the "+" to add a new style. Repeat this step until the text in the pop out paragraph styles selection pane disappears (approximately 23 to 47 times depending on the size of the styles added).
Actual Results: The text in the pop out paragraph styles selection pane disappears, rendering it unusable.
    Version: Pages 5.0 and 5.0.1; OS X 10.9 (13A598)
Notes: It seems that triggering the error depends on the graphical height of  the pop out paragraph styles selection pane, not the actual number of existing styles.
    This was their response:

Engineering has determined that your bug report is a duplicate of another issue and will be closed.
I guess they have known about the problem for a while then. They must be busy with damage control over all the issues with Pages 5 that are causing greater negative feedback.
The only way I found to work around the bug was eliminating styles from the drawer until the bug goes away. Not a nice fix, but it is one way to be able to continue working with the doc.

  • Paragraph styles not working in pages 5.0

I upgraded pages to the newer version 5.0 and the documents that I had on my old version lost all the paragraph styles I had created. I also tried to create new paragraph styles with numeral lists and bullets and this is not working *(not applying format). The old version worked very good doing that. Do any one have had this issue? Can it be a bug? I will appreciate your input. Thanks

Apple removed over 110 features from Pages 5.2.2 and added countless bugs:

  • Styles bug in Pages 5.0?

I am editing a document created with Pages 09. The doc has probably 40 paragraph styles: certainly more than can be viewed in the new styles dropdown list without scrolling. When I attempt to scroll this dropdown list it "disappears" from the pane. See two screen grabs: #1 taken after clicking the down arrow to open the styles dropdown; #2 taken after trying to scroll down within the dropdown pane. Once I have tried to scroll, there is no way to recover the styles display other than closing the pane by clicking ourside of it.
I don't see a way around this, save reverting to using Pages 09 to edit my document. Any ideas?

    Another autocorrect bug:
I type a lot of lyrics, which tend to cotain words like ’cause and ’em instead of because and them.
I've set up autocorrect instances to change a plain apostrophe with an ending, single curly quote for these words, but they are invariably changed to a beginning, single curly quote mark by Pages. The only way I can get the correct curly quote is to type over the wrong quote manually and hope that I don't have to edit the rest of the word again, as this would cause autocorrect to kick in again and change the quote to the wrong, beginning curly mark again.
Does anyone know how to get around this tedious problem?

  • Problem with footer in table style not applying paragraph style... or just me?

I'm having a niggling problem making a table style with cell/paragraph styles for the header, body, and footer respectively. I want to make it as simple as possible for other users but one thing keeps tripping me up. I'll try and describe with screenshots. I'm using InDesign CS5 on Windows 7.
I have a table style set up with cell styles for the header, body, and footer, and paragraph styles for each as well. Say I'm converting a list of generic text to this table:
i convert it to my table style. The body style is a numbered list:
I convert the header to an, err, Header. The cell applies the header paragraph style as I should expect:
I convert the footer likewise, but it maintains the Body text paragraph style as an override!
So naturally I clear the override and it works fine. But of course, I'd rather it acted like the header row. I can't work out where the override on the footer comes from and why it operates differently in this respect to the header row. There is nothing different about how the styles are constructed. Have I made a mistake somewhere, or is this correct behaviour I'm misinterpreting, or something...?
edit: Here is the file, if that will help:

    Hi,
I was able to reproduce the issue you are facing.
I will be logging a bug for this and it would be investigated.
Thanks a lot for reporting the problem!!

  • Paragraph Style Problem

I have the weirdest problem that I cannot yet understand. I have a 76-page book that has at TOC plus 10 chapters. The book was created last year in ID CS3, and everything worked fine. I have updated it into CS4, and everything appeared to be working normally until I discovered this problem. My master chapter for synchronizing is Chapter 2 in the book panel. All fonts are loaded and present.
In the last chapter (Ch. 10), the paragraph styles don't work. They not only don't work, they change the text to something totally weird. For example, if I set a block of type in Times New Roman and pick, say, the #1 Head style, which is Hypatia Sans Pro Bold, it converts it to a completely different font or it chooses a font I'm not even using. If I set the type in another chapter and cut and paste it to Chapter 10, it pastes fine. If I try to restyle it, it goes weird on me.
I have looked extensively at the styles, and they are all correct and the same as all the other chapters. However, when I try to apply them, a different change results. I have checked the Basic Paragraph Style; however, none of my styles are based on that because I checked that also.
Keep in mind that the paragraph styles worked properly last year and are working properly in every other chapter. Synchronizing does not help.
This may be a bug of some sort or it may be something I've overlooked. But I haven't made any huge structural changes to the chapter other than to add a couple of pages. I've tried restarting the program and the computer. The only thing I have not tried is to completely remake the chapter, which, of course, I don't really want to do.
I'm just throwing this out there. I'm not sure there is an easy answer. Let me know what you think.

Try moving the pages to a new file. That's not going to be as effective, probably, as copying all the elements into a new file, but it's faster.
Also, make a new book with just the problem chapter and the source chapter and synch again, see if it works.

  • Can't edit Padding (in Borders and Shading) for paragraph style in .CSS

Can someone please explain why I can't define the padding of
a solid box when editing paragraph styles of a .CSS?
    Running RH 7.02.
I can edit the padding if I select the style from within a
topic. When I attempt to edit the style in a .CSS, the Padding

At least it's comforting to know it's not just me ...

  • Make paragraph style not override character style?

    Hi.
Is there any way to make a paragraph style NOT override a character style?
For example, I write a lot of scientific reports in Pages and then I use subscript and superscript often and so I have made a character style for that. But if I want to perhaps change the spacing between paragraphs in my body style. I select a paragraph, change the settings that I want and then I right click on the paragraph style and choose "redefine style from selection". Then I select all of that style and choose "revert to defined style" to get the updated paragraph spacing. But what this does is that it overrides all of the character styles so that everything in sub/superscript, bold, italic etc get back to the style. This is really bugging me out.
For the character styles you can select what attributes you want them to affect, is there any way to do this with paragraph styles as well? Or maybe some of you have got a good way to make it work.
    Thanks in advance.

When you redefine the paragraph style, all paragraphs using that style will display the new style properties, unless you've overriden them. Presumably this is why you choose "revert to defined style", so that other paragraphs that you've stylistically modified take on the proper paragraph style properties. If not, why revert at all?
Instead of using revert, why not re-apply the paragraph style (just click on the selected style in the drawer, or pick the selected item from the pop-up menu). It will discard your unwanted paragraph style overrides, and preserve the character styles.

  • Suppress highlighting for parent paragraph style

When one paragraph style is based on another paragrash style, and you click inside the child style with the Type tool, both the parent and child styles are highlighted in the Paragraph Styles panel. This makes it confusing as to which paragraph style is actually applied to that paragraph. Is there a way to change this display so that only the style applied to the active paragraph is highlighted?

What version of ID and OS X?

  • TOC for ePub Paragraph style editing

I'm trying to figure out if InDesign can allow us to editor the dynamic table of contents. What we have is basically this:
    Chapter number (unique paragraph style)
    Chapter title (unique paragraph style)
    First paragraph (unique paragraph style)
We want the ToC that gets pulled up in a eBook reader to show this:
    Chapter 1: Chapter Title
    Chapter 2: Chapter Title
Right now, InDesign seems to only export each as a specifc paragraph style, without setting them on the same line side by side. We get stuck with:
    Chapter 1
         Chapter Title
    Chapter 2
         Chapter Title
Does anyone know of a way to export the ePub so it's what we want rather than this hirarchically broken way?

This TOC issue has bugged me for years.
I have been able to come up with certain workarounds, but only when my physical (print) TOC just happens to be set up exactly as I would like it displayed in the ePub (this is not always the case).
It would be wonderful if there was a way for us to better control how the TOC info is output when exporting to ePub.
For now, the fastest and easiest way to deal with this issue (for me anyway), is to manually update it in the ePub file after export.
    Cheers,
    Ron

  • Following Paragraph Style Always Reverts to 'Same'

For my heading style, I set the Following Paragraph Style in the inspector to be 'body'. Then, next time I choose the heading style, the Following Paragraph Style has reverted to 'same'.
This is really frustrating. Is this a known bug, or is there any way to fix this?
    TIA

Forget it. I see that you have to Update Style from Selection when you change the following paragraph style.
