Keynote Presentation like OSX Snapshots Screensaver

So I'm working on this presentation of photos that will be displayed on the screen behind a chorus singing and I wanted them to appear like they do in the 'Sanpshots' screen saver.   Anyone have some suggestions as to how to accomplish this?  I would think there has to be some way to do it in Keynote.
Thanks for any help!

I wanted them to appear like they do in the 'Sanpshots' screen saver.
I dont have Mountain Lion so unless you give more information on what this screen saver does I cant help.

Keynote should work ok with Lion. Are you running the latest version?

  • Can you automate an iPad keynote presentation like a slide show?

I have a very basic keynote presentation that I've created on my iPad 2.  No fancy transitions, etc.  Essentially slides with pictures and information.  I need to have it run like a slide show and repeat itself over and over for a static display.  Can someone help me accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, you will do it by setting the transition options for the slides.

  • Keynote presentation like powerpoint

I recently built this great presentation in keynote. When I went to present it I got the mini-dvi to vga connector and hooked it up to the projector which worked fine. Running the presentation though none of my page transitions ran correctly and some of the other character transitions did not run correctly either. I specifically want to run keynote versus powerpoint because I didn't want any issues, yet I had them. Can anyone help me figure this out? Could it have been the projector?

I didn't know anything about mirrored or spanning. What I could see on the laptop I think was the same thing that was going showing in through the projector. I remember when I loaded the presentation up that it took a long time and when the presentation was over and I was shutting down, it asked me if I wanted to save the file. I didn't change anything so it shouldn't have asked me that. So something happened that shouldn't have.
I have not tried it again on another monitor yet. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had a problem like this.
PS- sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

  • Taking Notes within Keynote presentation

Has anyone found a way to take notes within a Keynote Presentation (like in Powerpoint)? I know there is the comment option, but i wonder about a plug-in or something allowing taking notes within the slides.

I use Keynote to take notes in meetings all the time. Just create a slide for each topic point, then create text blocks or bullets as needed. If you need to instead make notes on an already created presentation, it's as easy as creating a text box. Highlighting can be handled, too, but a bit slower than a more dedicated app.

How can you screen your iPad on a Keynote presentation just like Apple?
Like when they had last years WWDC when they demoed iOS 5 on the iPod Touch 4G
Can you do that with an iPad 2?

    AL113-
Mirroring refers to normal operation of the iPad, where you can see the Home screen on your external display, as well as when setting up a slide show, et cetera.  You may not need to mirror the iPad's display for presentations (but the iPad 2 does mirror).  At least for slide shows and videos, the iPad 2's screen does not show the presentation when an AV cable is connected, it only appears on the external screen.
The alternative I mentioned about using the Apple TV box with AirPlay is probably easier to do, except you need the Apple TV box to interface to your external display.  One problem with an AV adapter, is that the weight of its cable tends to pull the connector out of the iPad as you are holding it.

  • I have several keynote presentations on my computer but now am getting the message that the program cannot be installed "because of a problem." All this started when I bought microsoft office for  University (2011). What is the problem and how can I fix

I have several keynote presentations on my newish computer but am not unable to open them. I get the message "keynote cannot be installed because of a problem" (unspecified). Does anybody know why this happend? Does it related to using Microsoft "University"  2011? How can I fix it? Thanks!

    Thank you for your reply.
I just tried the 3-step process suggested on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2431353
This all started when my mouse/thumb clicker was going crazy. Found an expanded battery. Obviously need a new battery. Unfortunately must wait 6 weeks to get my new battery. Meanwhile, I'm running my computer on AC only, as there appears to be no other option. I was informed that when using AC only (no battery) some high-energy-use programs like Office might not function.
Do you know if there is away to use office even when just using AC and not having the battery in? I'm doubting if I have other OSX problems because everything else works: email, safari, itunes, iphoto, quicktime, etc . . . . ?

  • Moving Keynote Presentation to a Video Podcast

I have a Keynote presentation that I would like to record with narration, manually advance slides in sync with the narration, then move the combined narrated Keynote to a video podcast where viewer can see the slides and hear the narration.
Have tried moving it to GarageBand but it seems to throw up on the audio, won't take it in either the 'copy audio' or 'mix audio' options.
iMovie seems a logical choice but text on the slides (which look great in Keynote) all look out of focus in iMovie, either the new one or iMovieHD. Some fonts help this situation but none look anywhere as clear as the original Keynote. Went to One on Ones and no help there.
This does not seem like an off the wall application of Keynote to me but a logical extension for 'distance learning'. Has anyone done this successfully with text /photo slides with narration? how about slides with video clips as well?

I would appreciate it if someone could advise me as to the optimum resolution, dimensions and dpi for actual photographic slides that I am scanning for use in a Keynote Presentation, that will be projected in a large auditorium. I realize that most projectors in auditoriums that I will be using have 1024 x 1200 pixels, and possibly 1600 x 1200. There is no reference to this issue in the Keynote Tutorial supplied by Apple, and I have never found a definitive answer to this issue online (although there may be one).
Here’s my question: When scanning my photographic slides, what setting, from 72 dpi to 300 dpi, would result in the best image quality and use up the most efficient amount of space?
Here’s what two different photo slide scanning service suppliers have told me:
Supplier No. 1 tells me that they can scan slides to a size of 1544 x 1024 pixels, at 72 dpi, which will be 763 KB, and they refer to this as low resolution (a JPEG). However, I noticed when I looked at these scanned slides, the size of the slides varied, with a maximum of 1.8 MB. This supplier says that the dpi doesn’t matter when it comes to the quality of the final digital image, that it is the dimensions that matter.  They say that if they scanned a slide to a higher resolution (2048 x 3072), they would still scan it at 72 dpi.
Supplier No. 2: They tell me that in order to have a high quality image made from a photographic slide (starting with a 35 mm slide, in all cases), I need to have a “1280 pixel dimension slide, a JPEG, at 300 dpi, that is 8 MB per image.” However, this supplier also offers, on its list of services, a “Standard Resolution JPEG (4MB file/image – 3088 x 2048), as well as a “High Resolution JPEG (8 MB file/image – 3088x2048).
I will be presenting my Keynotes with my MacBook Pro, and will not have a chance to try out the presentations in advance, since the lecture location is far from my home, so that is not an option.
I do not want to use up more memory than necessary on my laptop.  I also want to have the best quality image.
One more question: When scanning images myself, on my own scanner, for my Keynote presentations, would I be better off scanning them as JPEGs or TIFFs? I have been told that a TIFF is better because it is less compressed.
Any enlightenment on this subject would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

When it comes to Keynote, I try and start with a presentation that's 1680 x 1050 preset or something in that range.  Most projectors that you'll get at a conference won't project much higher than that and if they run at a lower resolution, it's better to have the device downsize your Keynote.  Anything is better than having the projector try and upsize your presentation... you work hard to make it look good, and it's mangled by some tired Epson projector.
As far as slides go, scan them in at 150 dpi or better, and make them at least the dimensions of your presentation.  Keynote is really only wanting 72dpi, but I do them at 150, just in case I need to print out the presentation as a handout later, and having the pix at 150 dpi gives me a little help with their quality on a printer.
You'd probably have to drop in the 150 versions again if you output the Keynote to .pdf or Word or something, but at least you have the option.
And Gary's right (above) go ahead and scan them as TIFFs.  Sooner or later you'll want to do something else with these slides (like make something for an iPad or the like) and having them as TIFFs keeps your presentation looking good.
Finally, and this is a big one, get to the location for your presentation ahead of time if you can, and plug the laptop in and see what you get.  There's always connection problems. Don't let the AV bonehead tell you everything will work just fine ('... I don't have any adapters for a Mac...') .  See it for yourself... you're the one that's standing up there.  Unless it's your boss, then you better be really sure it works.

  • How can I launch an external app from a keynote presentation?

I'm trying to launch a Prezi presentation ("Prezi.app") from a keynote presentation, but don't know how to do it.
Links in keynote can only refer to websites or slides within the presentation, but not to start another App, like in - I hate to say it - Powerpoint.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Juergen

Keynote is specifically prevented from opening applications.
In Keynote 09 (the previous version), hyperlinks can:
Jump to a slide in the same presentation
Open a webpage in the computer’s default web browser
    Open another Keynote document
    Open an email message
    Exit the slideshow
in Keynote 6 (the latest version) hyperlinks can:
Jump to a Slide in the same presentation
    Web page
Mail opens a pre-addressed email message
    Exit the presentation

  • How can I transfer a keynote presentation that is too large to email from my IPad 3 or my IPhone 5s to an Imac ?

Normally I transfer keynote presentations from my Ipad to the Imac via email. But if the presentation has many photos the email server wont transfer the file. I'd love to learn if AirDrop or some other method would help me. Thanks.

With Keynote 5 for Mac, using a file transfer service like Dropbox work perfectly.
With Keynote 6 there are many issues with images being lost in the file that this does not work.

  • Can you open multiple windows of the same Keynote presentation?

Like you can in PPT, where you can go Window > New Window, and see more than one slide at once of the same presentation in the large view. If there is any way to view more than one slide at time, in the large view, please let me know.
I know about Light Table, and that's useful but I really want to be able to open multiple instances of the same presentation like I could in ppt.

Thanks, I will. It seems like such an obvious thing, yet I could not find anyone referencing it anywhere. I thought I was the only one who used ppt (or now keynote) that way. Otherwise it is awesome, so much better than PPT.

  • How to get keynote presentation to play all day on apple tv via iPad

    Hello,
I currently have an iPad (1st Gen iPad Mini) at my shop that I would like to use for playing a keynote presentation in my lobby throughout the day. My presentation plays on a loop about 5 or 6 times then keynote shuts down. Any ideas on what I should do?
Thank you for all your help and ideas in advance!
    Taylor

No there is no way to Mirror full screen from an iOS device to the Apple TV. iOS devices are not 16:9 like your HDTV so the mirrored image appears as the size your iOS device would be if it were the size of your TV. Hope that makes sense.

  • How can I control a keynote presentation on my iPhone from my iPad?

I have Keynote installed on both my iPhone and iPad.  I would like to be able to remotely control a presentation using my iPad.  I would like the iPhone to display the slideshow while I remotely control the show using my iPad.  I currently can control the show in the opposite way-my iPhone can easily find and control the slideshow displaying on the iPad.  I really want to display the show on the iPhone while using the larger screen of the iPad to control the show while I read the presenter's notes.  I only seem to be able to display on the iPad and use the iPhone as a remote control.  (I know that this is probably the preferred user method.)  The iPad will not even detect the iPhone when looking for devices.  Both are on the same WiFi network and have bluetooth turned on.  Does anyone know why the control only works in one direction or how to reverse control?

If I am understanding your question correctly what you are wanting to achieve is not possible. You can't run the same keynote presentation on both devices at the same time. Also, why would you want to use the small screen size of the iPhone as your display instead of the iPad? If it is just to see your presenter notes then print them out and use the iPhone as your remote.
Perhaps more info is needed so i fully understand your issue.
