Keynote presentations on Apple TV

I know I can't use Apple TV to view Keynote presentations ... but I want to. Any ideas on how I might fudge this and make it happen?

Welcome to the Apple discussions.
The keynote presentations are usually available for streaming to your web browser shortly after the event. They also make podcasts of these events a little later than that, sometimes it's a day or two and sometimes it's more.
Use the podcast section on your Apple tv to locate such events.
No fudging required
i suspect the OP meant Keynote as in the app, rather than Apple keynote events !

  • Viewing keynote presentations on Apple TV!

Is it possible to view keynote presentations on AppleTV? I know one way to do it would be to convert the slides to images and view the show that way. I want to know if you can view the keynote presentation on AppleTV as it was created on your MAC?

    No that's not possible.
You could probably output a movie of the presentation and play that.

  • How to get keynote presentation to play all day on apple tv via iPad

    Hello,
I currently have an iPad (1st Gen iPad Mini) at my shop that I would like to use for playing a keynote presentation in my lobby throughout the day. My presentation plays on a loop about 5 or 6 times then keynote shuts down. Any ideas on what I should do?
Thank you for all your help and ideas in advance!

No there is no way to Mirror full screen from an iOS device to the Apple TV. iOS devices are not 16:9 like your HDTV so the mirrored image appears as the size your iOS device would be if it were the size of your TV. Hope that makes sense.

  • Is there a way to stream a Keynote presentation from my Ipad to my Apple TV, but be able to open a different application on the Ipad without it mirroring on the TV?

I have just bought an Ipad and Apple TV and am wanting to have a Keynote presentation playing through the TV from the Ipad, but be able to open other applications on the Ipad without them also being mirrored and interrupting the presentation. I know you can show presentation notes in Keynote without them showing up, but is there a way to open up a whole new application?

no it's mirror because it show the same thing on Apple TV and IoS device

  • Does the Apple Digital Av adapter Stream in 1080P so that my keynote presentations look better that streaming them through apple TV?

Does the Apple Digital Av adapter Stream in 1080P so that my keynote presentations look better that streaming them through apple TV? I use Keynote and Apple TV to stream my Keynote presentations at work and the Picture does not look great and does not put the presetation in widscreen mode. Would the Apple Digital Av adapter fix that?

The size on the screen should remain, but the quality should be better.

  • Can I present a keynote presentation using airplay and Apple TV? How do I set up airplay ?

Can I present a keynote presentation using airplay and Apple TV? How do I set up airplay ?

    Hi Andy,
You can do this reasonably easily.
First up you need to think about how you are going to drive the TV- Your iMac could do it, but a laptop would be easier if you can access one.
Second you need to look at the screen inputs. If it is a flat screen TV it is likely to have at least a VGA connection which you should have a connector to 'out of the box' and it will work much like connecting your mac to a projector would.
If not you'll probably need a connector for your mac that outputs composite (a single RCA connector) or S-Video to connect. You'll need to do this connection and find out the resolution the display supports before the big day (I live in a country with PAL which typically is 720x576). Make the Keynote presso the same resolution and you should be all good. A test drive is essential!
Here's a typical adapter from the Apple Store

Just as a thought- you could just burn a DVD with the images- it's pretty simple to set up (with transitions) a photo library in iDVD, though a little more tricky if you need the images to appear at certain times.

Keynote presentations when using wireless libratone zipp speaker there is a 2sec delay before any slide containing video/audio plays - tried connection through apple TV still the same. Any ideas?

Thanks Gary, I think I should have mentioned that I have wired my other speakers and it works fine.
I just wanted to go wireless when presenting in front of class, simply to avoid trailing wires from the macbook which I position in front of me on a desk next to the projector and the speakers are behind me next to the screen.
I have struggled to find a solution, and reading through other discussions it is a problem that perhaps only Apple can solve.
I hope the new 'Yosemite' will resolve the problem.
Thank you once again for your reply.

  • Apple TV 1920x1080 keynote presentation... can it be done?

I have the new iPad and Apple TV, I have a HD TV and I want my 1920x1080 keynote presentation to play 1920x1080 fullscreen on TV.
    Can it be done?

From what's I've found the answer is no.
Presentations made on the iPad are set the the iPad screen resolution. If you make a presentation on your Mac and move it to the iPad via iCloud it covert to iPad screen resolution, which is a total pain as I wish to do the same as you. I hope with documents in the cloud with Mountain Lion and iOS 6 this problem maybe fixed.
ML will allow you to send to AppleTV from a Mac, but this current issue is very disappointing.
So to not bring better news.

  • How can you screen your iPad on a keynote presentation? Just like Apple did in last years WWDC when they demo iOS 5 how do they do that

How can you screen your iPad on a Keynote presentation just like Apple?
Like when they had last years WWDC when they demoed iOS 5 on the iPod Touch 4G
Can you do that with an iPad 2?

    AL113-
Mirroring refers to normal operation of the iPad, where you can see the Home screen on your external display, as well as when setting up a slide show, et cetera.  You may not need to mirror the iPad's display for presentations (but the iPad 2 does mirror).  At least for slide shows and videos, the iPad 2's screen does not show the presentation when an AV cable is connected, it only appears on the external screen.
The alternative I mentioned about using the Apple TV box with AirPlay is probably easier to do, except you need the Apple TV box to interface to your external display.  One problem with an AV adapter, is that the weight of its cable tends to pull the connector out of the iPad as you are holding it.

  • Anyone been able to create a Keynote presentation to loop as a movie on Apple TV (First Generation)?

I have prepared a Keynote presentation which I would like to loop on my Apple TV.  I was unable to set this up with the Apple TV 2 since it just streams, but with my original Apple TV, I can save the movie on the built in hard drive and presumably set it up to loop.  I had to export the Keynote presentation to iMovie to rotate the video to match the display I am using, but have tried several options to force a loop as a Quicktime movie and again importing the movie into Keynote after I rotated in iMovie and still will not loop.  I am trying to use this as a digital display in my business.  Any suggestions are welcome as previous posts and discussions have not worked.

    Winston Churchill wrote:
I'm not really sure whether looping videos still work on the Apple TV, they have done and then they haven't and then they have and I don't really know what the current position is.
You can add looping to a video in any application that supports it, QT Pro for example.
How can you add looping to a video in an application that supports it such as QT Pro? The only documentation that I've read states what I previously wrote, and that doesn't seem to work.

  • I have an Keynote Presentation uploaded on Youtube and want to use an CC-By license for it. I have used an submission from Apple. Am I allowed to do this?

I can upload it but i am not sure about the legal conditions so please Help me.

I would never have guessed a by lice referred a Creative Commons Licence is.
What is it you want to licence, music sound effects photography?
Do you mean, is  a licence required from Apple to place a Keynote file on Youtube? Users are given permission to distribute content using Keynote files. This is contained in the Keynote End User Licence Agreement.

I would appreciate it if someone could advise me as to the optimum resolution, dimensions and dpi for actual photographic slides that I am scanning for use in a Keynote Presentation, that will be projected in a large auditorium. I realize that most projectors in auditoriums that I will be using have 1024 x 1200 pixels, and possibly 1600 x 1200. There is no reference to this issue in the Keynote Tutorial supplied by Apple, and I have never found a definitive answer to this issue online (although there may be one).
Here’s my question: When scanning my photographic slides, what setting, from 72 dpi to 300 dpi, would result in the best image quality and use up the most efficient amount of space?
Here’s what two different photo slide scanning service suppliers have told me:
Supplier No. 1 tells me that they can scan slides to a size of 1544 x 1024 pixels, at 72 dpi, which will be 763 KB, and they refer to this as low resolution (a JPEG). However, I noticed when I looked at these scanned slides, the size of the slides varied, with a maximum of 1.8 MB. This supplier says that the dpi doesn’t matter when it comes to the quality of the final digital image, that it is the dimensions that matter.  They say that if they scanned a slide to a higher resolution (2048 x 3072), they would still scan it at 72 dpi.
Supplier No. 2: They tell me that in order to have a high quality image made from a photographic slide (starting with a 35 mm slide, in all cases), I need to have a “1280 pixel dimension slide, a JPEG, at 300 dpi, that is 8 MB per image.” However, this supplier also offers, on its list of services, a “Standard Resolution JPEG (4MB file/image – 3088 x 2048), as well as a “High Resolution JPEG (8 MB file/image – 3088x2048).
I will be presenting my Keynotes with my MacBook Pro, and will not have a chance to try out the presentations in advance, since the lecture location is far from my home, so that is not an option.
I do not want to use up more memory than necessary on my laptop.  I also want to have the best quality image.
One more question: When scanning images myself, on my own scanner, for my Keynote presentations, would I be better off scanning them as JPEGs or TIFFs? I have been told that a TIFF is better because it is less compressed.
Any enlightenment on this subject would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

When it comes to Keynote, I try and start with a presentation that's 1680 x 1050 preset or something in that range.  Most projectors that you'll get at a conference won't project much higher than that and if they run at a lower resolution, it's better to have the device downsize your Keynote.  Anything is better than having the projector try and upsize your presentation... you work hard to make it look good, and it's mangled by some tired Epson projector.
As far as slides go, scan them in at 150 dpi or better, and make them at least the dimensions of your presentation.  Keynote is really only wanting 72dpi, but I do them at 150, just in case I need to print out the presentation as a handout later, and having the pix at 150 dpi gives me a little help with their quality on a printer.
You'd probably have to drop in the 150 versions again if you output the Keynote to .pdf or Word or something, but at least you have the option.
And Gary's right (above) go ahead and scan them as TIFFs.  Sooner or later you'll want to do something else with these slides (like make something for an iPad or the like) and having them as TIFFs keeps your presentation looking good.
Finally, and this is a big one, get to the location for your presentation ahead of time if you can, and plug the laptop in and see what you get.  There's always connection problems. Don't let the AV bonehead tell you everything will work just fine ('... I don't have any adapters for a Mac...') .  See it for yourself... you're the one that's standing up there.  Unless it's your boss, then you better be really sure it works.

  • Want to add some animated 3D visualizations to my Keynote Presentation

I want to kick my Keynote presentation up a notch and add some animated 3D visualizations to further enhance my design explanation. It would involve creating some basic 3D models from scratch and then animating a sequence to explain how it is put together along with some other effects.
Can this be done in Final Cut Studio 2? or do I need to look further? Anybody know what my options are?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Bill ~ I haven't worked with 3D, but Final Cut Studio 2 includes _Motion 3_ which appears to allow only 2D objects (images & video) to be animated within a 3D space. If that's so, then _Maxon Cinema 4D_ may provide what you're looking for. More sources for Mac animation s/w is here:

How do I record a keynote slideshow with an attached music already? I trid to export it through Quicktime but the final result is different from the original keynote presentation. What I mean is that the slide transitions are slow that the musci finishes first before the slide presentation.

My keynote presentation is enormous so e-mailing is not really an option, the recipient is new to all things iPad, so what is the easiest way to share a presentation?
I know I can upload it to my computer but that seems unweildy.
If they are ditching iWork they should have a solution, but iCloud only seems to work with your own documents and devices....

    Not done, sorry.
so sending by mail didn't work either, because the Keynote 13 file could not be attached to a mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Keynote 09 can as can PowerPoint). This is ridiculus. This is Apple trying really hard to make it impossible for people to work with their software
