Keynote presentations on iWeb

Can it be done? Can I post a Keynote that I created onto iWeb and have it be viewable? How would I do it? Would I have to transform it to another format?

If you simply put a .key file up, it'll break
If you put up a zipped .key file, only those with Keynote can read it, and if it's Keynote 3, only those with K3 can read it.
If you export from Keynote as a QT movie, it'll play fine for anyone who has quicktime installed, and Keynote lets you embed an interactive sprite track in the movie so it works just like a presentation, meaning you click play each time you want to advance to the next build or slide. The only problem is, it doesn't work on some windows machines. If it's self playing though, you're fine.

  • Import keynote presentation into iWeb?

I was thinking about adding a keynote presentation onto my web page as a slide show. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

You CAN add a Keynote presentation into iWeb (exported as a QuickTime movie), you just have to be aware of some minor issues. One of the issues you'll run into you can see on this page.
    http://web.mac.com/makentosh/iWeb/tipsfromtheiceberg/Blog/9BD2E7B5-AE3D-4698-A7F 7-CB8155D7AAC9.html
Depending on the speed of your connection, if it starts playing early, it will do the first slide over and over until the full thing has been downloaded. Give it a try and post back here or in the Keynote discussions if you have any problems.

  • Keynote presentation and iweb?

    Hi,
I'm designing a mini website for my business and would like to know if it's possible to export a keynote presentation to an iweb site?
I know there is a button to share the keynote with iweb but i can't seem to figure out what exactly that option does.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks
    Tim

Tim ~ See this Apple doc: _Exporting to iWeb_
Since you have a MobileMe account, you could export your presentation as a QuickTime movie and publish it to your MobileMe Gallery linked to from your iWeb site. Click on this link to see one of Apple's demo _MobileMe Gallery_ videos:
    http://gallery.me.com/emily_parker#100624
...at lower right of the video there is a fullscreen button you can click. Publishing from iMovie allows it to be automatically converted to a wide range of sizes for optimal viewing on iPhone, Web, AppleTV, etc. See this video tutorial "_Publish movies to your MobileMe Gallery_".
In iWeb, you can view a list of all the albums and movies in your MobileMe Gallery, and incorporate any of them in an iWeb page. Visitors can click to go directly to your MobileMe Gallery. See this video tutorial "_Adding a MobileMe Gallery_".

  • Removing Keynote presentation from iWeb

I created a keynote presentation for an organization to proof and published it using iWeb which worked great. Now I would like to remove it. When I go to iWeb and click on remove entries, it is removed. But even after restarting my computer, it is still listed on my homepage. Thanks for any help.

There is a page I want to take down. I see the pages on idisk. I just deleted the page from idisk.
Glad to see you figured it out.
I also figured it out for someone one new year and it was a lot of fun

  • Keynote slideshow in iWeb?

Is there a way to integrate a keynote presentation into iWeb?

    Create your slideshowm in keynote.
    Export it as HTML.
Put the exported folder on the server.
Display the slideshow in a browser.
When it works as intended, go to iWeb.
Add a page for your slideshow to display.
    Add a HTML Snippet.
Use a javascript or iframe :
    http://www.wyodor.net/blog/archives/2011/08/entry_321.html
Use the URL of your slideshow as src="" or as location.replace()
    Practice.

  • Any idea where to download keynotes presentations ?

    Hello,
I mistakenly posted this thread on pages:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3569971
My question is: I wonder if there is such a repository for key notes where anyone can download and get the idea of how to prepare a presentation.
I tried to google it with filetype: key but the result are not as expected.
    thanks for any suggestions
(and thank you Matthias for the pointer)

Since many presentations include sensitive material, it's not likely that you will find many keynote presentations on the web. Even if you do, they won't be .key files as .key looks like a folder to other file systems and it would foul up the presentation as a result. You're more likely to find them as .zip files or, if you're lucky, .key.zip.
Here's one of my pages so you can see the format you're most likely to find Keynote files in.

  • Moving Keynote Presentation to a Video Podcast

I have a Keynote presentation that I would like to record with narration, manually advance slides in sync with the narration, then move the combined narrated Keynote to a video podcast where viewer can see the slides and hear the narration.
Have tried moving it to GarageBand but it seems to throw up on the audio, won't take it in either the 'copy audio' or 'mix audio' options.
iMovie seems a logical choice but text on the slides (which look great in Keynote) all look out of focus in iMovie, either the new one or iMovieHD. Some fonts help this situation but none look anywhere as clear as the original Keynote. Went to One on Ones and no help there.
This does not seem like an off the wall application of Keynote to me but a logical extension for 'distance learning'. Has anyone done this successfully with text /photo slides with narration? how about slides with video clips as well?

  • How can I connect my iMac [Mavericks OS] to my TV so that I can show a Keynote presentation on the TV?

I want to connect my iMac [Mavericks OS] to my TV so that I can show a Keynote presentation on the TV.  I have a local wireless network.  My TV is Internet accessible.

If you do not have this option, then I would suspect your Mac does not support audio over HDMI.

I would appreciate it if someone could advise me as to the optimum resolution, dimensions and dpi for actual photographic slides that I am scanning for use in a Keynote Presentation, that will be projected in a large auditorium. I realize that most projectors in auditoriums that I will be using have 1024 x 1200 pixels, and possibly 1600 x 1200. There is no reference to this issue in the Keynote Tutorial supplied by Apple, and I have never found a definitive answer to this issue online (although there may be one).
Here’s my question: When scanning my photographic slides, what setting, from 72 dpi to 300 dpi, would result in the best image quality and use up the most efficient amount of space?
Here’s what two different photo slide scanning service suppliers have told me:
Supplier No. 1 tells me that they can scan slides to a size of 1544 x 1024 pixels, at 72 dpi, which will be 763 KB, and they refer to this as low resolution (a JPEG). However, I noticed when I looked at these scanned slides, the size of the slides varied, with a maximum of 1.8 MB. This supplier says that the dpi doesn’t matter when it comes to the quality of the final digital image, that it is the dimensions that matter.  They say that if they scanned a slide to a higher resolution (2048 x 3072), they would still scan it at 72 dpi.
Supplier No. 2: They tell me that in order to have a high quality image made from a photographic slide (starting with a 35 mm slide, in all cases), I need to have a “1280 pixel dimension slide, a JPEG, at 300 dpi, that is 8 MB per image.” However, this supplier also offers, on its list of services, a “Standard Resolution JPEG (4MB file/image – 3088 x 2048), as well as a “High Resolution JPEG (8 MB file/image – 3088x2048).
I will be presenting my Keynotes with my MacBook Pro, and will not have a chance to try out the presentations in advance, since the lecture location is far from my home, so that is not an option.
I do not want to use up more memory than necessary on my laptop.  I also want to have the best quality image.
One more question: When scanning images myself, on my own scanner, for my Keynote presentations, would I be better off scanning them as JPEGs or TIFFs? I have been told that a TIFF is better because it is less compressed.
Any enlightenment on this subject would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

When it comes to Keynote, I try and start with a presentation that's 1680 x 1050 preset or something in that range.  Most projectors that you'll get at a conference won't project much higher than that and if they run at a lower resolution, it's better to have the device downsize your Keynote.  Anything is better than having the projector try and upsize your presentation... you work hard to make it look good, and it's mangled by some tired Epson projector.
As far as slides go, scan them in at 150 dpi or better, and make them at least the dimensions of your presentation.  Keynote is really only wanting 72dpi, but I do them at 150, just in case I need to print out the presentation as a handout later, and having the pix at 150 dpi gives me a little help with their quality on a printer.
You'd probably have to drop in the 150 versions again if you output the Keynote to .pdf or Word or something, but at least you have the option.
And Gary's right (above) go ahead and scan them as TIFFs.  Sooner or later you'll want to do something else with these slides (like make something for an iPad or the like) and having them as TIFFs keeps your presentation looking good.
Finally, and this is a big one, get to the location for your presentation ahead of time if you can, and plug the laptop in and see what you get.  There's always connection problems. Don't let the AV bonehead tell you everything will work just fine ('... I don't have any adapters for a Mac...') .  See it for yourself... you're the one that's standing up there.  Unless it's your boss, then you better be really sure it works.

  • How can I get back to my Keynote presentation once I've linked to a website?

I've created a Keynote presentation. On one slide, I have a link to a relevant Vimeo video on the web. It gets there seamlesly. However, when the 4 minute video is done playing, I can't return to my presentation. If I "x" out of Safari, my Keynote is gone.  I've tried hitting esc but that doesn't work either.
    Thanks for your help.

Use application switcher to display Keynote ; (command  tab) press the command key then tap the tab key then release.

  • How can I make sure fonts in a Keynote presentation developed on iMac will show/match when transferring the presentation to MacBook Air?

It would seem (to me) this should not be an issue, but I have an iMac and MacBook Air with the identical version of OS (10.7.4) and Keynote ('09 5.1.1).  Yet, the fonts don't match.  Fonts I would regularly use when developing the presentation on the iMac do not transfer (create "Review" errors) to the Air.  How can I fix it so that all the fonts on iMac show on Air?

If I am understanding your question correctly what you are wanting to achieve is not possible. You can't run the same keynote presentation on both devices at the same time. Also, why would you want to use the small screen size of the iPhone as your display instead of the iPad? If it is just to see your presenter notes then print them out and use the iPhone as your remote.
Perhaps more info is needed so i fully understand your issue.

  • How can I launch an external app from a keynote presentation?

I'm trying to launch a Prezi presentation ("Prezi.app") from a keynote presentation, but don't know how to do it.
Links in keynote can only refer to websites or slides within the presentation, but not to start another App, like in - I hate to say it - Powerpoint.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Juergen

Keynote is specifically prevented from opening applications.
In Keynote 09 (the previous version), hyperlinks can:
Jump to a slide in the same presentation
Open a webpage in the computer’s default web browser
    Open another Keynote document
    Open an email message
    Exit the slideshow
in Keynote 6 (the latest version) hyperlinks can:
Jump to a Slide in the same presentation
    Web page
Mail opens a pre-addressed email message
    Exit the presentation

  • Want to add some animated 3D visualizations to my Keynote Presentation

I want to kick my Keynote presentation up a notch and add some animated 3D visualizations to further enhance my design explanation. It would involve creating some basic 3D models from scratch and then animating a sequence to explain how it is put together along with some other effects.
Can this be done in Final Cut Studio 2? or do I need to look further? Anybody know what my options are?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Bill ~ I haven't worked with 3D, but Final Cut Studio 2 includes _Motion 3_ which appears to allow only 2D objects (images & video) to be animated within a 3D space. If that's so, then _Maxon Cinema 4D_ may provide what you're looking for. More sources for Mac animation s/w is here:

  • I have a 2010 iMac 21.5, and have updated with Maverick. Now I can't open the pages or modify the keynote presentation I am working on.

I recently updated my 2010 iMac 21.5 to MAVERICK. Now I have installed new versions of Pages and Keynote. I have been working on a KEYNOTE presentation that I am modifing for a new presentation at month end, and I can not insert new script. The template is blocked.
Also, when opening an existing PAGES, I get the message that a new version must be installed and it directs me to the app store to buy it for $19.95. Even though these new editions were installed free with MAVERICK, do I now have to purchased these updates?

Did you make the Keynotes presentation in the old or the new Keynotes, if you made it with the old version and try to modify it with the new there could be some incomaptibilites. Try opening the presentation with the original version of Keynotes which will probably be located in the Applications folder under iWork.
Does the message state you may or must purchase an upgrade. For most tasks the old Pages will work on many occasions.
I have the latest Pages to allow my devices to share over iCloud but I have not upgraded Numbers or Keynote as I do not require the functions the lastest versions provide.
