Keynote presenter tools -- limited view to next slide only

I can't seem to be able to see all potential slides available in the presentation tools for Keynote. As opposed to ppt, where you can see all the available slides and move around dynamically as needed during an organic presentation, keynote is only allowing me to see the next slide.
I can't find how I fix that to see all available slides in the presenter tools. Anyhelp?

You can set the duration of each slide by going to the audio
editor and inserting silence that is the same duration as the swf
that you are loading.
You could also import the audio right in to Presenter using
the audio editor.
I recommend the latter, because synchronization can be an
issue.
Hope that helps,
Jeremy

  • Swipe back during keynote presentation

    Hi everyone,
I understand that in Mac OS, when I am presenting a keynote presentation, hitting the "[" button (during a slide with several builds) on the keyboard moves the presentation to the previous "build" while hitting the left arrow button moves the presentation to the beginning to the current slide.
When making the same presentation in my iPad, swiping back causes the presentation to move to the beginning to the current slide.
May I know what action is required to move the presentation to the previous "build" (equivalent to hitting the "[" button on the keyboard)?
    Thanks!

I don't believe that Keynote records the mouse movements when recording a presentation -- a recorded presentation is not an actual screen capture. If you need this kind of capability, you may want to look at using a third-party screen capture application like ScreenFlow ($99, but highly recommended, as it allows a lot of post-recording editing options), iShowU ($30), Snapz Pro X ($69).

  • Proceeding to the next slide

    Hello All!
I'm developing a training module, where I want a user to be
able to proceed to the next slide only after s/he completed a set
of operations on the current slide. For example, I have 4 rollover
images that a user needs to see. Can I somehow disable the slide to
jump to the next slide based on timing and say that a user can jump
only if s/he viewed all the pictures? If that's not possible, is it
possible to have a picture-button (not a text one!!!!!!) that will
look like an arrow, so that when a user clicks on it the tutorial
will continue, but not before that? Right now what's happening is
that when the slide time is over, the slide changes no matter what
    happened on the slide itself.
Thank you all for your help!
    Mariana

    Hi Mariana
You are correct in thinking you should use something to pause
a slide. Can you use a picture arrow? Absolutely! You would either
insert as an image, then superimpose a Click Box object over the
image, or you could use an image button. (When you insert a Button
object, choose the Image button type and select the image you wish
    to use.)
You would probably also wish to time the slide so the user
has ample time to do things before the button appears.
    Cheers... Rick

  • View next slide/info while presenting

I have recently switch from PPT to Keynote. What a difference!!
The one thing I miss from PPT is the "View Presenter Tool" option. This option allows your views to see you slides while you can see you current slide/position and future slides.
Does Keynote have this feature or something similar to it?

Yes, it is. Go to the "Keynote" menu in the menu bar, and choose "Preferences." One of the Preferences is "Presenter Display" The issue with the "Presenter Display, as I've noticed, is that it shows only when you're actually presenting on a secondary display, so you'll have to practice (for now, at least) on the regular slideshow display.
Note: You can fool the display into thinking that you have another display connected if you have a more recent computer, like an iMac, MacBook or MacBook Pro, by plugging in an external display adapter. (DVI to VGA, mini-DVI to VGA, and so forth).

Go to Keynote>Help>Show your Presentation>Use Presenter notes.
Also if you are using separate screens see Present on seperate displays

  • On slide No. 13 of my Keynote presentation, I have varous pictures that go through automatically just as I programmed them, but if I I want to get by clicking to the next slide , it does not let me. How can I program so when I want goes to next slide?

On slide No. 13 of my Keynote presentation, I have varous pictures that go through automatically just as I programmed them, but if I I want to get by clicking to the next slide , it does not let me. How can I program so when I want goes to next slide?

Keynote is programmed to execute all of the effects in a build sequence before it will move to the next slide.
If you want tobe able to move to the next slide at any time in a sequence of builds, you will need to set all of the builds on that slide to:  "on click". You will then need to execute each build by pressing the space bar or click the left mouse button for each object.

  • Since I put Mountain Lion on my MacAir my PowerPoint and Keynote Presentations freeze up when I am presenting.  This is so unacceptable when I have 75 - 500 people I am presenting in front of.   I can no longer use my presenter tool either.  Is there help

Since I put Mountain Lion on my MacAir, my Power Point presentations freeze up when hooked to an LCD projector.  I can no longer use my presenter clicker tool that moves my slides as I walk among my audiences.  This is totally unacceptable in the kind of work that I do.  The Genius Bar person told me to try Keynote but that is even worse.  I wanted to go back to Snow Leopard but because I have backed up my information on an external hard drive she said I cannot go back to Snow Leopard.  Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?  I have several presentations coming up in the next six weeks.

You need to move to Windows 7, because Apple is now releasing a new OS X version annually and it's playing havoc with people's hardware and software.
Windows 7 will get support until 2020, that's 8 years of software stability, however you do need to make System Restore disks, boot disk and another on a hard drive to self restore (like TimeMachine is for OS X)
Apple has no plans to change their currrent behavior as all they care about is selling new hardware with a shiny new OS X verison on it.
If you wait to move, what will happen is you'll lose that full 8 years and will have to swtich to a newer Windows sooner
Windows 7 machines are still widely avaialble, despite Windows 8 (a failure) being pushed currently.
Running three OS X operating systems on one machine is quite a chore reserved for only seasoned computer geeks, then it's only going to last X months as the next OS X version will be released, then the next a year after that.
Another method would be to get a virtual machine software (virtualbox is free) and install Windows 7 into that to ease your transitition if you cant' spring for a Windows 7 machine, preferablly a tower that will last a long time.
Here is a method to run Snow Leopard in Parallels, however it's a unapproced hack and not for the comptuer newbie.
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
We have no control over Apple's OS X release cycle, nor the third party developers who make their own decisions what to support.
Our only choice as users to stop using both products and seek software/hardware stability.

  • Is it possible to get Apple Keynote to show the presenter display instead of just the slides when I record audio using Play - Record Slideshow?

Rather than giving a presentation with an external monitor, I want to sit at my desk and record a presentation for distribution like a podcast.  When I click record to add the sound to the presentation I see the slide show on the screen while recording instead of the presenter display.  I would like to watch the presenter display while recording so that I can see the next slide as I record.  There doesn't seem to be any way to record and watch the presenter display without having an external monitor attached.  Does anyone know how to get the presenter display to show while recording without an external monitor?

I also needed to view presenter notes while recording a presentation on my Macbook Pro and could not find a solutions, but I did find a pretty good work around.
I downloaded the Keynote Remote app for my iPhone.  I am now able to start recording on my laptop and then hit start slideshow on my iphone to view a portrait mode version of my slides with presenter notes below.  I use my phone to flip through slides and slide builds while I'm reading through my presenter notes.  When I've reached the end of the presentation I hit esc on my Macbook Pro and I'm done.  I'm then able to export the recorded presentation as a Quicktime video and post it on our website, which is exactly what I set out to do.
It takes a little bit of coordination to get used to this method, but I don't need to have a projector or second monitor because my phone takes on the second monitor role.

  • Is there any way to view a keynote presentation and the presenter notes on the iPad at the same time?

Is there any way to view a keynote presentation and the presenter notes on the iPad at the same time? My professors at school have keynote presentations and i take notes during class with the presenter notes feature. I was wondering if there was any way i can view both of them on the same screen on my iPad while studying? This way I could see their slides along with the notes i take during class.

None that I know of. Suggest to Apple.
    Send feedback to Apple.

  • Is there a way to toggle to a web browser while in Keynote presenter view?

I teach at a number of research classes at a University and I prefer to use Keynote as a teaching tool. My teaching requires that I access websites regularly throughout the the class.
Here is what I'm currently doing:
    1. Before the class starts, I open each website we'll be using during the class as window and assign the window to it's own desktop. So if I have four websites the students will be accessing during class, I'll assign those four websites to four distinct Mission Control desktops (I'm using the 10.8.4 OS X).
    2. I run my presentiation from Keynote using the play key, but without access presentation mode.
    3. When I need to access a website while teaching, I [ALT]-[TAB] out of Keynote, select the appropriate page from Mission Control, and demo that page.
    4. When I'm done, I simply click the Keynote icon in the dock and resume my presentation.
This system works and I have no real complaints with it - except that I cannot take advantage of Keynote's presentation tools. I've tried any number of ways to toggle to a web browser while in presention mode without success. While in presentation mode, if I [ALT]-[TAB] out of the presentation, it simply stops the presentation and the web page doesn't appear on the projection display (because I'm not mirroring my displays) and the only way to get it to work is to re-mirror my displays.
I tried using the X command in Keynote, which is the toggle between displays, but no matter what I did, I cannot get the webpage to show up on the projection display.
Is there an easier way to do this? Bear in mind, I'm not merely showing webpages, but I'm actually interacting with them (performing research on these pages) so they have to be operational. Right now I'm assuming presentation mode is just not going to work for this kind of scenario.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

place as many shapes as you need on a slide and create a hyperlinks to your website
Keynote preferences > slide show;    select  >  allow Expose and others to use screen
select the shape and in Inspector > Hyperlink; select the enable as hyperlink box, then type in the address
use alt > tab to go back to Keynote
before playing Keynote, open and move the web browser on to the projector screen to position it ready for use

  • How do i change the amount of time for slides in a keynote presentation so they are not the same

how do i vary the times for the slides in a keynote presentation, i have 3 videos i need to run longer and the slides I want to run the same

Is this for an unattended presentation?
    1. If not, the option would seem to be:
Manually advance the slides containing the videos or
set the transition delay time to the next slide to occur after the video completes using the
Slide > Transition Inspector > Delay (max delay is 600 seconds so if video is longer than 10 minutes, an automatic delay wouldn't work)
    2. If you plan this to be unattended your best bet is to compile it in iMovie and have a looping video with all parts timed in the video to your liking.

  • Is there a way that I can see more than just the next slide in Presentation mode (as an old version of PowerPoint used to do)?

Is there a way that I can see more than just the next slide in Presentation mode (as an old version of PowerPoint used to do)?

Sorry - should have been more specific. As far as I can see, Keynote will only allow me to see the current slide and the next slide on my laptop when I am presenting a slideshow through a projector. But an old version of PowerPoint allowed me to show the current slide....and (adjustable) many more slides ahead (say 10)....so I could simply jump ahead to a 'future' slide and skip several slides in between. Net result being that I was able to matcgh my slides to group discussions rather than stick to a fixed, predetermined slide show.
As much as it pains me, without this facility - PowerPoint (old verson, not current one) is more useful for me! :-((

  • Keynote presentation view

On the previous version of keynote for iPad you could show 2 slides on your iPad while presenting as well as show presenter notes with the slides while presenting.  Now when I go to play the slideshow this appears to be gone (it was in the bar in the top that you could change what displayed on your ipad during the slideshow) Does anyone know if this feature is still available and found someplace else?

    Not via iMac currently.
Your best option now is to export a video of the presentation in h264 format, but all transitions/effects may not look as good as the original.
When Airplay arrives properly next month, it may allow streaming of apps from an iPad assuming Keynote on that has all the features you require. In theory they could add this to the desktop suite but no one knows if they will.

  • Keynote presentations when using wireless libratone zipp speaker there is a 2sec delay before any slide containing video/audio plays - tried connection through apple TV still the same. Any ideas?

Keynote presentations when using wireless libratone zipp speaker there is a 2sec delay before any slide containing video/audio plays - tried connection through apple TV still the same. Any ideas?

Thanks Gary, I think I should have mentioned that I have wired my other speakers and it works fine.
I just wanted to go wireless when presenting in front of class, simply to avoid trailing wires from the macbook which I position in front of me on a desk next to the projector and the speakers are behind me next to the screen.
I have struggled to find a solution, and reading through other discussions it is a problem that perhaps only Apple can solve.
I hope the new 'Yosemite' will resolve the problem.
Thank you once again for your reply.
