Keynote recordings into Podcasts?

I tried searching for an answer to this with no luck. I'm using the new Keynote "Record Presentation" feature with great success. I'd love to use this approach to help create a video podcast, but everything that I'm seeing is based off of earlier Keynote versions mixing with Garageband, and splitting up the audio into each individual track.
Right now we record the keynote, export to Quicktime, upload to MobileMe (which should get easier with Quicktime X), then embed into our website in iWeb. This system works well, but doesn't give me a way to promote these videos as a podcast series in iTunes... as far as I know.
Is there an easy way to get from Keynote recording/Quicktime movie to a linkable Podcast?

Some of my podcasts won'transfer to my iPod. Some transfer every time, others transfer sporatically, some not at all.

Importing Keynote slides into Pages

I'm new to a Mac. I'm doing a copy and paste of Keynote slides into a Pages document. The quality of the slide image is very poor when printed. I've done this many times before in Windows (with PPT and Word) and the quality is very high. I thought it might be the slide template I chose but then tried several others and the quality is still poor. Anybody have any suggestions?

Why not check what it is you are getting when you copy and paste?
Is the entire slide being rasterised to a bitmap?
What resolution is the original slide and is it being changed when you copy and paste.
More to the point is how are you printing the final Pages document?
If you are going to .pdf file first and there is transparency, reflections or shadows then that will be rasterised to a low 72dpi thanks to Apple's bad settings in OSX's ColorSync filters.
If the Keynote images look fine in Pages even when you zoom in on them, then the problem very likely is the ColorSync filters.

There is never any guarantee that automatically generated html will look right on every browser, especially Explorer. For max compatibility with MS stuff it's best to use Office to start with instead of iWorks.
I don't know whether you could manually edit the Keynote html to make it work better with Explorer. It would be interesting to know whether it looks right in Windows Safari, Chrome, or FireFox so you could know whether only IE does it wrong.

I was thinking about adding a keynote presentation onto my web page as a slide show. Is this possible?

You CAN add a Keynote presentation into iWeb (exported as a QuickTime movie), you just have to be aware of some minor issues. One of the issues you'll run into you can see on this page.

Depending on the speed of your connection, if it starts playing early, it will do the first slide over and over until the full thing has been downloaded. Give it a try and post back here or in the Keynote discussions if you have any problems.

Is it possible to import a Keynote slide into Imovie? If not, is there some way to create a "call out" word balloon and make it appear with a still photo in Imovie?

You do it sort of like the way you arrange your apps on the iPad and how you drag apps into groups. You do the same technic with your Keynote slides.

Audibooks loading into podcasts not audiobooks - PLEASE HELP!

On the instructions from a friend, I have dragged my audio books from my audible.com library onto my desktop. When I drag the books, they go into podcasts. I have the audiobooks icon showing in my preferences but the books go automaticall into podcasts with not name title or anything.
Audiobooks is the only reason I purchased an ipod so I am quite frustrated and ready to listen to my books. Please help!

IChat Video Recordings into Final Cut Express 4?

Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions as for the best way to import iChat (Leopard) video recordings (320x240 pixels) into Final Cut Express 4? FCE says the file type isn't supported.
Any help/suggestions much appreciated!

That's an interesting idea, I may try it for my future attempts.
This time round, I've just booted up iMovie 06 HD and imported it as 'isight' and used that program to work with the iChat video.
I think this is one of the things I miss from working with low-end PC video editing software like VideoStudio - you could specify the input video parameters, whereas I believe you need to go all the way up to Final Cut Pro to do similar on the Mac!

Can't put music into Podcast

Ok. I'm new to this. Probably NOT doing something right.
I'm creating a podcast and want to use a music bed. When I try to drag/drop an MP3 from iTunes into a new track, I get the message that the music file is being installed, but it doesn't show up on the track... or anywhere else in Garageband.
What am I doing wrong?!

Images into Podcast

Hello all-
Is it possible to generate a series of images into a Podcast where the user drives the image flow? For example, let's say that I have 10 jpegs or PDFs or whatever works best. I'd like to allow someone to download onto iPod and choose when to move from the first image to the second (go back, continue forward, etc.). Is that possible and if so, can anyone steer me in the right direction?

In this case, audio is not a requirement.
if you just want images on request, then a web page slide show would do the job, though it couldn't be distributed in the iTunes Store as a podcast.
So, are you saying that I could accomplish what I need to by making each image into its own chapter? Will that image stay on the screen until the user moves chapter forward or chapter backward?
Yes: an audio file with several chapters, each with its image, will show the image applicable to the chapter in which the playhead is currently placed, whether paused or scrolling,

Moving podcast from Music Folder into Podcast Folder

I recently noticed that a podcast I had downloaded ended up in the Music folder of the library instead of the Podcast folder. Is there a way to "move" it into the Podcast folder?? I tried dragging it, but that doesn't work. Any suggestions (I can't re-download it again, as it's greyed out when I try the "Get" button).

No matter what I change the 'GetInfo>Options>Media Kind' option to, it will always return back to its original 'Music' state (thereby staying in in the 'Music' folder).
I guess the only thing to do, is to delete the podcast and download it again.

Multiple recordings into one

How do we take multiple recordings and make one recording?

The short answer is you don't.
The long answer would be that you make an off-line version (FLV or, if you have paid for the ability MP4) and then combine them in a video editing application. Alternatively, you can pull the audio from the source files of the recording (add /output/yournamehere.zip?download=zip to the recording URL) and then use Presenter or Captivate or whatever the appropriate tool is to add the audio back into the presentation(s) and edit them apart/together as you see fit.

Keynote grafx into iMovie HD

I'm wondering if I have the concept backwards...
What I've done is gone VHS-->PC-->.wmv-->.mov-->iBook-->iMovieHD.
It's about an 8 min. total video, and I've cut the live footage I'll need to use down to about 5 min., which means I'll need to do about 3+ min. worth of grafx in Keynote.
I've read threads/Googled articles about importing iMovie HD footage into Keynote for a presentation, but that's not what I'm wanting to do; I want to INSERT Keynote-originated footage inTO iMovie HD, and use iMovie HD transitions into the Keynote grafx, then back into the video, then more grafx, etc.
When I'm finished, I'll export the finished product, featuring the captured video + iMovie HD transitions + Keynote grafx from my iBook-->PC with a DVD burner.
Is this even possible? I'm trying to update an old video into a more interactive DVD using iMovie HD, Keynote, iDVD, and a DVD burner.
Am I doing this bass ackwards? Is importing Keynote INTO iMovie HD even a possibility?

Hmmmm, this is discouraging.
What I'd wanted to do was do some animated grafx/slides, and incorporate them into the iMovie project for the final DVD.
So you're saying that when I export the slides from Keynote, in .dv format, that there'll be considerable quality loss?
That stinks!
I hadn't planned on using stills...all the slides would have some sort of animation.

Importing high quality screen recordings into final cut

Please can someone here help me. Nobody in the Apple stores in London, great as they normally are, was able to help me.
I am trying to make a high resolution / quality video of screen recordings of a website for promotional purposes. I am able to make screen recordings using Quicktime7 and Screen Flow and assumed I could just import them into FCE, edit where necessary and then export into Quick time but here the problems start
1. Final Cut Express does not allow you to import screen recordings from Quicktime7. I was told the answer to this was to convert them into Mpeg 4 files using a free software called Streamclip. Fine. This works but by the time the files are in FCE, the quality is poor. By the time I have exported the video into quicktime so it can be viewed the quality is even lower. Result: Very low quality recordings
2. Using screenflow I can import the files directly into FCE but again the quality is reduced by the time they get there and again by the time they are exported into quicktime. Result" Low quality recordings.
I have looked at using 100% quality every where where this option is available but to no avail.
Finally an apple expert said the only option I had was to import the screen recording direct from the computer to my video camera via the video in port but that I needed to buy two connectors, namely video into dvi and then dvi into mini display port. Sounds laborious. Is this my only option? Do I need to upgrade to FC Pro (out of the question due to budget)?
I'm under time pressure. Any help very much appreciated!

1. Whoever told you to convert to MPEG-4 is completely wrong and should not be working in an Apple store. FE only works in QuickTime using the Apple Intermediate Codec for HD material. It only works in specific screen resolutions used in video formats. 1920x1080, 1440x1080, 1280x720, and DV for standard definition.
2. Full resolution media from ScreenFlow can only be edited in Final Cut Pro.
You can record directly to a a camera but you need a high quality scan converter. Just doing it off a computer screen will produce rubbish video.
