Keynote sound/picture synchronisation problems

I am using Keynote '08 for a presentation with 500 photos and a sound track which I created in GarageBand using various music tracks (total time 45min.) The problem is that when showing the presentation the sound track is no longer correctly synchronised with the picture slides, although this was the case when I last quit keynote. I know a lot of you have been having problems with keynote 08. Is this just another unsolved problem that needs to be fixed by apple? Any thoughts / ideas would be appreciated.

Try a planner rebuild - Sercices 0 0 1 Select Planner Rebuild and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Good day...
    I was videoing a friends wedding & had 2 cams going. I have imported the tapes but one of the tapes has drop outs os sound & picture. It doesnt show when viewing onth ecamera or TV just when importing. I am using one camera to import both tapes. 1 is fine & the other has problems (although it plays fine on th ecam & tv).
    Any thoughts. I have done a few before without prob. The souns was set at 16bit on both cams.

    not sure what you mean my time coding the tapes.
    Using iMove, not sure if time codes would be an issue.
    But why would the tape in question play perfect on the cam (while importing) yet stagger on the screen (real time)? The other tape was fine.
    Do I have to import with the orig cam it was recorded with? I wouldnt think so as it plays perfect on this cam.

    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
    If the issue continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

  • Picture messaging problems for EnV 3

    In the past few days, I have been having picture messaging problems. When a Non-Verizon person sends me a picture, it says connecting (as it should) but just continues to say connecting. I never receive the picture. It just says failed if I let it continue to connect. When I receive a picture message from a Verizon person, it also says connecting and I allow it to go until it stops. It never shows a loading bar like it used to but the "connecting" screen will eventually disappear and I can view the picture. It works but, its very slow and it doesn't show the loading bar like it used to.
    I also have problems sending picture messages. Again, the connecting screen comes up when sending a picture but no loading bar. I usually let it go for 30 seconds and I'll end up cancelling it. BUT, a friend of mine did end up receiving the picture even though it never said message sent on my phone.
    Any help with these problems? I haven't done anything different than I used to and I have had the phone for almost a year and a half now. Everything has been fine until now.

    You can do the *228 reset every month or so just for maintenance and to keep your phone updated.

    I can't say that I have had a problem playing videos in Flash because I could always play them in browsers other than Firefox.
    In Firefox Tools>options>Advanced Hardware acceleration is turned on.
    I don't know if that is different that tuning it off and on in Flash or not, but for now it is a moot point.
    As I stated in my previous message, after following all earlier suggestions/instructions nothing helped. But The latest one, someone suggested that maybe version 17 of Flash might be a stable version.
    I made no other changes except to install it, a few days ago, and so far so good.

  • Synchronisation problems between apple mail client on a MacBook Pro and Gmail

    I am having synchronisation problems between apple mail client and gmail on the MacBook Pro, but no similar problems on the ipad and iphone. My mail is not being collected by the aplle mail client on the laptop, and now all my inbox for my gmail account has disappeared, although the Archive and sub folders under "Google" are still showing.
    This is an intermittent problem.
    I have previousy re-built the mailbox and solved the problem, but there must be something more fundamental going on, as the problem has occurred again.
    Anyone have any tips?

    Sorry, but no. POP3 versus IMAP has nothing to do with keeping spam off your computer. Your ISP should be doing its filtering before the mail reached the mail server in either case, and your Mac would be doing its filtering after downloading the mail from the mail server in either case. (Your iPad does no filtering at all.)

  • Keynote synchronisation problems

    At what point does it freeze?
    After you have burnt them to a DVD or CD?
    When you run them from the disk in your computer or run them as files from your Mac.
    When they freeze what format are they in? Still Keynote, or have you converted them to .mov or QuickTime?
    Are you by any chance turning them into a DVD to run in a DVD player?
    Please take the time to explain the problem clearly and legibly.

  • Synchronisation Problems - LR5 Continually reports new pictures to Import, even after syncing

    I have noticed this happening more and more. I move an image folder in to my Pictures hierarchy that LR is managing. I then "sync" to get LR to recognise the folder and put in to Index... which happens OK.
    However, If I sync again immediately, there are a whole bunch of other images that LR seems to count as needing importing, a small fraction of which actually seem to get re-imported again.
    I've tried rebuilding catalogue - doesn't seem to be any different.
    Are there perhaps some output images somewhere that are causing problems?
    Or anything else obvious I am missing?

    My thanks to Rob, Peter and DdeGannes for comments and advice. I eventually ended up contacting Adobe re the problem, and after a number of unsuccessful attempts to get LR5 working using the 'original' catalogue we deleted the old catalogue and recatalogued. This overcame the problem and LR is up and working again. Fortunately recataloguing wasn't an especially onerous taks because I've only just started using LR and the catalogue wasn't excessively large.  Unfortunately we didn't manage to figure out what the cause of the problem was, but it doesn't appear to have been a corrupted video or photo file because all photos/videos are now catalogued without change. Nor does the problem appear to have been due to starved resources as the recataloguing was completed without freeing up additional resources.  However, the point was taken and I've now freed up some resources.  Perhaps the problem was a corrupted preview - but I guess we'll never know!  Regards.

    Since about 2 weeks now, I cannot synchronise the stuff from my 6630 Lifeblog onto the PC Lifeblog. I keep getting the following message:
    "Lifeblog encounters problems transferring items. Please check the connection and try again. If the problem persists, restart Lifeblog and/or the PC and try again.
    Possible reasons: An item that you are trying to transfer may be opened in an application on your phone or PC, the multimedia card (MMC) on your phone or your PC hard disk may be full.
    For more information see Lifeblog Online Help, Troubleshooting, Transfer Problems."
    In the course of this problem I had done the followings:
    * Restart the computer and try again
    * Restart the 6630 and try again
    * Restart both the PC and the 6630 and try again
    * Check both the MMC (354 MB free) and my PC hard disk (16 GB free), restart both and try again
    * Uninstall Nokia PC-Suite and reinstall it and try again
    * Went to see the "Troubleshooting" which wasn't any help at all
    * Updated the firmware and try again
    * Re-installing PC-Suite (newest version), Lifeblog (newest version) on both phone and PC and try again
    All to no avail.
    Any help?

    I've occasionally had the same error message you experienced above and have been able to solve it although I have not been able to localise whereabouts the problem is occurring.
    As an aside, I don't think you mention what version of LifeBlog you are using but FYI (For Your Information) v2.1.131 is out.
    I've composed a list of things you should look at to find out why this is happening - these questions are only meant to find out where the problem lies - not apportion blame so please don't take them the wrong way !
    Things you need to look at to solve the problem or eliminate the potential cause of the problem :
    1) Upgrade to the latest version of LifeBlog if you aren't already using it - it can be found here - http://www.nokia.com/lifeblog - it may be possible that the problem you are having is a known issue which is solved in the latest release. At the very least I would recommend doing a complete uninstall of the old version and then rebooting, and installing the new version to ensure that you start from a clean configuration.
    2) Has LifeBlog ever worked ? If so, then when did it stop working ? What did you do previous to when it stopped working ? Did you install a new PC/mobile application ?
    3) Are you able to use the full capabilities of PC Suite successfully ? Can you backup the phone, synchronise data with Outlook or whatever compatible PIM you use ? The fact that you have done a software update etc. indicates you can connect successfully to the phone, but I thought I would put it here for completeness !
    4) Have you tried installing the LifeBlog software which is designed to run on the mobile phone - not the PC ? (If not - please do this - it will act as an useful potential problem indicator further below)
    5) Are you running any minimized software on your PC or phone whilst trying to do the PC Suite/LifeBlog update ? Disable any anti virus software JUST IN CASE FOR THIS TESTING ONLY. I once had an issue where I connected a camcorder via Firewire and I then couldn't surf the internet - this turned out to be a problem with the anti virus application I was using at the time - it only recognised one valid TCP/IP interface at a time - when the FireWire connection became active, it shut the interface to my network card down ! Also make sure any firewall software is temporarily disabled just in case as well.
    You sound technically proficient, but again I thought I'd put this in for completeness.
    The thing that should happen if you have PC Suite living in your system tray (next to your clock) and you plug you phone in is as follows. You should get a little bublle pop up saying "6680 connected via USB" or something similar - the white cross in a red background should change to a green shape - can't remember what the shape is off the top of my head.
    Once that happens it pretty much means that your phone and PC are talking correctly. At this point PC Suite (e.g. backup) should work - if it doesn't then you will need to resolve this issue before LifeBlog will work.
    Presuming PC Suite works, and the problem is indeed localised to LifeBlog, the next stage of diagnostics would be to load LifeBlog for your mobile. When you load the LifeBlog software on your mobile, you should see a chronological list of pictures you have taken and text messages you have sent - check this is the case and that it is up to date - send yourself a text message and check if you can see it being sent and received in LifeBlog - if not, then click the options button and select Update Timeline (or something similar) and try again - does it appear now ? If it doesn't then it indicates LifeBlog isn't working correctly - I would recommend that you uninstall LifeBlog on your mobile and power cycle your mobile and reinstall it. This is the particular issue I was having - when I got LifeBlog on my mobile working - it worked on my PC - sometimes I find if they get out of sync they're not particularly happy (even though they should be independent of each other).
    I'm pretty sure from the log files, that LifeBlog uses a database of sometime to collate the LifeBlog information and sometimes it can get a bit confused - the "Update TimeLine" option should help solve this.

    Hi - is there a way to grab the "Keynote" picture frames/borders for use in other apps. I can't seem to find them even when I show contents of the "keynote" package.

    iMovie is a DV editing app and the final results would still make a 640X480 file.
    I would change a few things to make everything work together:
    First is the display resolution. You want the 23 inches to be used so just reduce the display preferences to try and match your QuickTime file. 800X600 sounds about right but larger will still work as H.264 Video scales up in size very nicely.
    This would force you to "reduce" the dimensions of the Keynote file but that shouldn't be much of an issue.
    QuickTime Pro could also be used to "change" the dimensions of the 640X480 file. Again, H.264 scales up in size and would look pretty good at even double size.
    The goal is to have them both at the same dimension and then match the monitor resolution.
    Easier to change the display than the files.

  • Screensaver, system sounds and itunes problem

    I did all the updates and even used migration assistant so my computer has been through allot already. I do not know which update affected my screen saver and optical audio but my screen saver is having the same issue with two monitors. My VGA monitor displays photos when the screen saver kicks in but my macbook just says looking for pictures. I tried reseting pram, repairing permissions and "safe boot" but nothing works. My optical audio somehow messes with my system sounds and iTunes on first song or podcast played. Sometimes the progress bar will freeze and I can't move it.(the time counter for a track in iTunes). The system sound works off and on when I use optical audio out to my stereo receiver. I talked to apple care and the genius bar and they said I might need to archive and install from the recovery discs that came with my computer. I think if I did that and did all the updates then the problem would return because I think it is a firmware or software update problem and not third party software interacting with the system.

    iTunes shouldn't do that. Normally when iTunes finds that it would like to move/rename a file after download or a tag edit, and the filename it wants to use is already in use, it adds a " 1" or " 2" to the end of the filename. It does not overwrite the original file. In fact if it had reused the filename then there would be two entries in your library, which would both have the same information and content. Is this the case? How exactly is the title of the film spelt?
    File & folder names are limited to 40 characters in Windows so I would expect (judging by the titles given in the store) to find the movies in a folder called:
    Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - P
    and to be called
    Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.m4v and
    Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallo 1.m4v
    Hopefully you have a backup of the missing file as, in principle, you are only allowed to create one copy using the redemption code.

    Trying to watch Moto GP live or replay picture+sound keep stuttering. Sometimes runs ok for several minutes and then goes wonky again. BT sent new hub 4 F.O.C. but no improvement.BBC i player works no problem. Tried re-installing siverlight , re- booting hub and most possible cures but no different. Anybody got any ideas?

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Problems

    Yes I just had to replace my mother board  With KT3 Ultra2 and with my soundblaster card the motherboard won't boot the d- bracket has 2 red lights on the top when looking at the manual this refers to the Ide conroller. Is there and issue with this card. Oh buy ther way I have disabled the onboard sound in the Bios

    Very odd problem--sounds like a resource conflict, though--definitely.  You might have better luck moving the Audigy to another slot--just to see if this changes the resource picture somewhat.  
    Im assuming here that you have uninstalled all of the drivers for the Audigy, but that simply the presence of the card in the slot at boot causes a lockup.  If you find that uninstalling the drivers actually solves the problem while physically leaving the card in the slot and powered up--then I'd say you were having a software conflict somewhere, and might need to uninstall and then reinstall some drivers in a specific sequence.
    But I'd try taking out all of the PCI cards you can, including the Audigy, and then I'd put the Audigy in first by itself in its normal slot and see if the same problem manifests with no other cards in the system. If it does then I'd start moving the Audigy one slot at a time until you find a slot for it which won't prevent the system from booting with it installed.  Once that's done, add in your cards one at a time and make sure you can boot with each of them so that if you have a problem again you can identify the card in your system the Audigy is conflicting with--if it's a PCI card.
    Also, I take it you know not to put *anything* in the PCI slot directly adjacent to your AGP slot (but just wanted to remind you.)  Good luck!

    I get a confusing issue with my BB Z10. I´m using the newest OS version.
    The problem is the synchronisation with my Novell Groupwise Account. When I add one Address with my BB, my Groupwise account gets all information too, but when I add a new Address on my Groupwise Account, my BB gets only the Name and the telephone number. I´m missing the E-Mail address after synchronisation.
    Maybe someone has a solution for this problem or any idea how to fix it.

    Sounds like the answer is in your Groupwise Account, did you check the settings there.
