  • Burning keynote to DVD

I am have trouble in getting my keynote file to be burned to DVD through iDVD. The picture quality is very poor even playing back on my Mac. I tried different resolution but the result is the same. The same thing happens with slide show generated from iphoto as well. The picture quality is superb when it is in iphoto or keynote program. The same thing happened with iDVD 06 as well. Please help.

I am having the same problem. Everything started out so promising. I thought I can take advantage of the new keynote features. But they don't transfer well to other format. I need to put multiple music tracks in the presentation. So I saved the keynote into quicktime. That's where the trouble begins. Only dissolve works. The other transitions are all jerky in motion.
Does anyone know if I can put multiple music tracks in keynote?

  • I want to burn a project from Keynote onto DVD, but when I export it, the audio becomes all warped and echo-ey. What do I do?

Created a Keynote, added a soundtrack in Garageband, when the project is exported to iDVD the sound is all screwed up. Any ideas why this is happening, or a way to fix it?
    Thanks for the ideas.

You dont need ANY CD/DVD burning software on your Mac
Just plug in your LG DVD/CD player and follow the below instructions

  • Keynote to DVD [best possible quality]

Hello everyone. What's the best way to output keynote presentations for DVD playback? Looking to get crisp text and sharp photos. Is this possible? Thank you. Donnie D.

DVD quality is quite less than computer screen resolution like 1024 X 768.
Exporting to Quicktime (full quality large screen) gave me the perfect, crisp presentation as a "player"
mode. That is, all the funky, wild transitions played perfectly and the user could go forward and backward (using the arrow keys on the keyboard). Exporting to Quicktime is the missing "Keynote Viewer." Everything looks and works the same as it does when in Keynote.
So, if you can send people a quicktime instead of a DVD, that might work better. Besides, most people have found they can only go forward in a DVD presentation, and not backward. Not the case in Quicktime.
    Hope that helps,

  • Keynote Interactive DVD

After doing some research I have discovered that Keynote does not have the ability to export a file where it can be used as an interactive DVD (strange this feature does not exist).
Anyway, I have been finding some application that are more like a DVD authoring tool. I have even found application that will take a Powerpoint presentation and convert them into a interactive dvd so that all hyperlinks would be DVD menus and submenus.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate one that will do the same for Keynote. I was wondering if anyone has used any Mac application that will perform the type of tasks that I am looking to complete?
I have a presentation on Keynote that I want to put on DVD but have it retain it's interactive features. So far, I have had no luck in trying to accomplish this. It doesn't seem like this would be too much to do. I don't know why Keynote does not have this feature built in.
    Thanks in advance

May I join in your club. Although we can export to QT or power point it always looses a lot. I would like to be able to export to a dvd. But let's not forget the primary objective of keynote and the amazing prive we pay for it.

  • I need help uninstalling keynote and then installing keynote from dvd

    Hi Please help-
I moved the iwork to the trash emptied it out, ten installed Iwork DVD. It then ask for serial number fr trial version. How do install new iwork without trial popping vback up.
    Thanks in advance
    J

I don't want to remove all registry files that have to do with java, because I have the normal java sdk which I want to keep. If the ME sdk was not meant for vista 64, the installation program should have caught that and prevented it from installing in the first place. the very least that Java support could do now is provide some instructions for manual removal. Anyway, I'm going to e-mail Java support because I'm getting no answers here. But I've checked other topics and I'm not alone in having this problem, so it would be useful if someone could offer a solution here, too.

  • New bug introduced with Keynote 5.2 - Set timing and order of each build has stopped working properly on Smart Builds

    Hi there,
We're heavy users of Keynote and have noticed a new bug has recently been introduced into something that was stable. I think it has emerged in Keynote 5.2, could have been Keynote 5.1 also.
It's in the area of Set Timing and Order of each build when used on a Smartbuild. You can no longer set the Start Build field for each instance within the Smart build when the instances are interspersed between other items. The Start build field is just blank and unselectable.
    To see this :
    1. Create a bullet point list with 4 lines
    2. Set build to Appear
    3. Set "Set Timing and Order of each Build" to on
    4. Create a Smart Build - set to flip
    5. On the Smart Build Set "Set Timing and Order of each Build" to on
    5. re-order the items in your Build Order so that they alternate between the bullet point and the smart build flip
At this point, you used to be able to set the bullets so that they Started on Click and then set the smart builds to Start with previous. This gave you a nice and very useful effect where you could click to reveal a bullet point and at the same time flip in a corresponding image. We've used this loads of times in our company presentations.
With a recent keynote update ( I think 5.2 maybe, could have been 5.1) this functinality has been lost. have tried it on Lion and Mountain Lion and it's not an OS issue, its a Keynote issue.
Could anyone from Apple acknowledge that they know the issue and suggest if it will get fixed? Right now we're hunting round for an old Keynote 9 DVD so we can install a pre build 5.2 version.
    Thanks

    Hi glennelliott72,
I've noticed the bug you describe and to me it's very irritating.
I also found some differences in the build menu between the last release and the previous one, and between the Mac OS X and iOS versions. For instance, the blast build doesn't exist anymore in Keynote 5.2 but it's still in the version for iOS 6.
    What is your experience about?
    I currently use OX Lion.
    Thank you

  • Exporting from Keynote - audio/slides no longer in sync

Well after researching this, it seems there is no answer to my issue, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
I have set up a Keynote presentation using Smart Builds. I have four slides. Each slide has approximately 40 pics and one song. The timing of the pics is set to correctly end at the same time the music stops and move on to the next slide, with its pics and music. Everything is timed right in Keynote.
Now I want to burn to DVD. I export to QT. QT plays all the slides with pics and music. However, QT plays back the slides and pics at a faster rate and as a result the pics and music no longer line up.
I suppose I could go back to Keynote and make it "not line up" in there so that it will in QT. But that would be: 1- ridiculous and 2- a huge waste of time (as this would be a "trial and error" approach.
    Any ideas or thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Anyone else experience this?
    Or know of a work-around?
Or perhaps a different way to convert a Keynote to DVD?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Slides from Keynote (not about the audio issue)

Am I correct in assuming that Keynote slides exported with the "interactive" command should be interactive in iDVD?
When I open the .mov file in QuickTime the slides play fine with the (start and stop) interactive control. But when I bring the same .mov into iDVD, the slides misbehave. The first two or three slides flip over very fast, then the show stops.
What gives? Could this be because I'm using the trial version of Keynote?

DVD media is not really 'interactive' and so Keynote presentations intended for iDVD are merely slide shows - you set the image duration and transition duration - and don't allow you to 'click' anything to advance to the next slide.
Note that when you Export a presentation from Keynote, if you choose QuickTime you are given the Interactive choice, but if you choose iDVD there is no Interactive choice.
On your computer, a Keynote presentation exported for Quicktime with Interactive selected lets you click to advance to the next slide. A Keynote presentation exported for iDVD opens in a traditional QT movie window and runs straight through the entire movie with no interaction.
Sorry, but DVD playback doesn't work this way.

  • Controlling iMac iTunes from an iBook via airport

    Hi all,
I have a wireless network with an iMac G5 1.8GHz 20" and an iBook G4 1.33GHz 12". I'm aware that you can play a shared iTunes library over the network but what i want to do is play my iTunes library on my iMac with it's JBL Creature II speakers but by controlling it from my iBook. Basically I'd like to listen to music from my desktop speakers and (for example) skip/fast forward etc from my laptop in my bedroom. I sometimes use my Sony K700i as a Bluetooth remote control but this is unstable as soon as you go into another room. Any help and info will be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Andy,
To do this i use a very handy program called Salling Clicker. Unfortunately for you it looks like there is not yet any support for the K750i but i'm sure it won't be long before you can use it. I'd highly recommend it as its easy to use and very responsive. Not only can you use iTunes but also programs like Keynote, Apple DVD Player, Mail, Powerpoint, Quicktime, Address Book and you can even control the mouse pointer with your mobile's joystick. Well worth the $19.95 for me. Here's the link for you to check if/when its been updated:

  • Buying from app store

I have been asked to givea series of lectures at a photography club. The computers they have are the latest 21" iMacs.
As I have an ancient Windows XP tower computer, for PowerPoint, I would like to buy Keynote so I can use the Macs at the club.
Is is possible to buy Keynote to use the clubs iMac? It appears Keynote can only be purchased from the online Mac App Store for download.
I have an Apple iTunes account for buying iPad apps.
    thanks for reading

OS X sofyware will only run on a Mac. Keynote will not run on Windows.
The current version of Keynote is only sold through the Mac App Store. You can find older versions of Keynote on DVD through Ebay, Amazon and likely at used software stores.
You can use your iTunes account to sign into the Mac App Store on a Mac running the most recent versions of OS X Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion and buy and download Keynote. The downloaded version of Keynote can then be transfered to a CD or DVD, a portable HDD or a thumb drive.

  • Recording dvd from keynote

I have a keynote presentation that is timed to music, words, and photos. I have a dvd - recorder (burner) on my windows computer. Is it possible to connect my apple to my windows computer to burn a dvd so that I don't lose the integrity of my presentation? If so; how?
    Thank you!
    Debbie

I hate to have to tell you this, but it is entirely impossible to write ANY Mac slide presentation to DVD in the form it was created, irrespective of how it was created.
I have tried every method suggested and there is always a problem. I created a slide show in iPhoto, but this won't export to DVD, and if exported to Quicktime, the aspect ratio of the photos is not maintained.
I tried exporting to iDVD, but it won't retain the soundtrack that runs through the iPhoto presentation; there is a limitation on the number of pictures that can be inserted in a chapter, and the application is incredibly clunky anyway.
I created the slide show in Keynote and it was great, but that won't export to DVD either, and the various export options are all completely usless for one reason or another. For example, the timing of the slides and accompanying soundtrack is critical, but Quicktime imposes its own timing on a slide display, so the soundtrack goes out of sync.
Altogether, and with great regret, I have to say that all these Mac products are useless except when they can be run on a Mac. It would appear that Apple has deliberately made it impossible to export to a media that is the standard for visual display. I still can't believe that people I thought of as being the best in business could be so brainless.
My absolutely final attempt will be to try and export it to PowerPoint and hope that Microsoft have been a bit more sensible. But I bet there will be problems with this as well.

  • I can't get transitions to work when burning a DVD from Keynote

While trying to burn a DVD+RW from keynote, using Quicktime 7.5.5, I get a message stating warnings were detected during validation. Nowhere does it tell me where the errors are, or what to fix. If I burn the disk some of the transitions do not work. They freeze, or one slide shows through another. When I went through preview before burning everything worked fine, but when the DVD is placed in a player the transitions do not work. I removed all the transitions, then reburned the disc and things worked fine, but the presentation lacked pizazz.

Which USB Superdrive are you referring to? If this is the one:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD564ZM/A/apple-usb-superdrive
it states it works with Macbook Air, Mini, or MBP with Retina display. If they told you differently, take it back for a full refund and show them their own website.
