Keynote - updated 6.2.2

Hello
I am having a nightmare with Apple.
I have been clicking on it's 'community support' page, which gives you a message without any details that says 'are you back with the same problem'. It doesn't matter whether you click yes or no (or can't remember your last problem), it's an endless cycle of pop up boxes that keep displaying that page over and over until you close the browser window.
More importantly, I just ran an update on my macbook pro to update keynote to v 6.2.2.
Now the presentation that I have been working on for a week and saving regularly has disappeared. I 'open recent' on keynote and it takes me back months ago to the last time before the current project. There is no trace of my keynote on my laptop, not in trash, in all my documents or in the folders where I keep my documents.
Is there something in this update that is deleting the most recent file? It's totally gone.
Apple, c'mon. This can't be your standard. I just tried phoning your store in Sydney. I went through your cycle of check button responses and was asked to wait whilst i was transferred, only to have the automated voice tell me 'goodbye'. This is telco company standards.

In Illustrator, save the file as a PNG, PDF, TIIF or EPS then drag this file onto the slide.

  • Keynote update error iwork09

    I recently updated manually the Keynote update. I have iwork 09 version 5.0.4 (633). So i wanted to get the recent version. There were couple of things that were not right;
1- I downloaded the update package (9.0.5) for iwork 09, it never showed as a part of "apple autoup dates
2- As i tried to install the pkg, it gave me an error
" An eligible Keynote application was not found in the location /Applications/iWork '09."
3- Was not able to update. My iwork is registered with appleand i have the box as well.
4- I do not have an apple care plan, so what should be done?
    Thanks

You need to make sure that all iWorks applications +(Pages, Keynote and Numbers)+ are in the Applications folder in a folder titled iWork '09. If they are not then the Software Update won't find them in need of updating and your updater won't work. You need to create a folder titled iWork '09 +(make sure it is exact)+ and then try the update again.

  • Keynote update now MBA Bricked?

    Hi All
Awoke this morning to a couple of updates being notified on my 2011 MBA. Its the new Keynote update and I think Safari.
The update started but has now been stuck at Software Update, Installing2 items, running package scripts..... since 0800 this morning, its now 1230.
Is there anything I can do to recover? else I have a brick (albeit a very nice looking brick!)
    thanks

ok sorted. Had to hold down the power key for 3 econds (didnt know this much, doh) then load up the software updates one at a time to see which was causing an issue. Neither were. So I am now all up to date and its looking good. Phew.
I had called applecare to get the above and despite being outwith the90 days the very helpful chap talked me through the above. I was offered applecare for 3 years (with education discount) at £139. but declined for now as it is so close to christmas.
Thank you apple I am delighted with your response today.

  • How to find error occurring during Keynote updating

My Keynote update cannot be completed.  This message was given: "An error has occurred".  How can I find out what this error might be so it can be fixed?
I have an older version of Keynote installed, but when I get the update notification and agree to it, the update is stopped and the above message given.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select
    /var/log ▹ install.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

    Andy

    Hi.
    was kann ich nich tun?

Try this repair, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1  delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, use Appcleaner from Mac Update to           do this, its freeware
2  restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3  immediately after the start chime,  press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up,  it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4  when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive  then First Aid tab and           click  repair disc permissions
5  when complete, restart the Mac normally
6  install Keynote from the Mac App Store
Please report back to let us know if this helped.

  • Latest Keynote update won't open file. Says I need Keynote update! Why?

I'm working on an urgent Keynote presentation for work (yes, on Sat night!) from my boss's MacBook at home ... or, rather, I'm trying to. Keynote just won't open the Keynote file I created yesterday on a different MacBook (reading from USB key). It says I need the newer version of Keynote in order to open this file. I checked ... the version installed was the latest version, but just for good measure, I've just re-installed the update from the Apple site (with boss's permission, lol). No joy ... still returning the same error message. Insists the file version is newer than the version of Keynote I'm running.
    Help, anyone?

You are alternating between the two versions of Pages:
    Pages 5 and Pages '09.
Pages '09 can not open Pages 5, and Pages 5 alters/damages Pages '09 files.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.

  • I installed the keynote update but now my keynote still won't open

I updated keynote 3 days ago. Now when I try to open my presentation it says that I need to update keynote but when I go to the App store it shows it is already installed.

Both versions are installed on the Mac, so either; Right click the file and select Keynote 6 or remove the Keynote 5 icon from the dock then double click the file.

  • Mac App Store / Keynote Update Install Fails

For a month I have been receiving notifications from the Mac App Store to update Keynote to Keynote 5.3
I do, it says it is installed and then I received the same notification, repeat with same result 12 times.
What is (or isn't) going on ?
    Thanks !

My apologies. Time and OSX version fly.
It is actually OS X 10.8.2
    Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Keynote Update Error

Today I downloaded the iWork 9.0.4 update and tried installing it. However I get the following alert message, "An eligible Keynote application was not found in the location /Applications/iWork '09". I do have Keynote and it is in my applications. Any ideas on how I can get the update to run? Thanks!

Sorry, I should have explained more. If you have remove Keynote from the iWork '09 folder, that is the problem. Keynote, Pages and Numbers need to stay in that folder. If you had removed them before running the update, try creating a folder called iWork '09, putting the apps in it and running the updated again.

  • Keynote Update Help Needed

    Hi.
When I start Keynote 4.0 ('08), it informs me that there is an update (4.0.2) available, and that I should use the software manager to obtain the update. However, the software manager does not find the update, and it is not hidden or ignored (at least I can not toggle the Reset Ignored Updates menu item in the Software Update application to determine if it is indeed ignored). How can I correct this injustice and download and install my update?
Incidentally, Pages 3.0 ('08) does this as well, but Numbers 1.0 ('08) does not.
    Thanks.

OK, so I found the answer by searching deeper in the forums. http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6477224#6477224

  • Keynote Update 3.0.1 v2

    Hello,
there is a new version of Keynote & Pages in software update.
    It's version 3.0.1 v2.

When I launch Keynote or Pages, it tells me an update is available. But when I launch Software Update, nothing shows up. Both apps are in the iWork folder inside the Applications folder on my boot drive, so I doubt it's a path problem.
    I have Keynote 3.0.0 and Pages 2.0
    PB G4 12 1GHz DVI   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

  • Help! keynote update to 2.0.2 and now it doesn't work

I had the original version of Keynote installed and today software update opened telling me to update to version 2.0.2, although I had version 1.X. It seemed strange to me because usually you can't update to a full new version, like 1 to 2, but it seemed to install.
I then tried opening Keynote to see the difference between the original version and version 2 and it strangely wouldn't open. It bounced in the dock for about 30 seconds and then in the menu bar it said Keynote but was highlighted in blue and it didn't show the rest of the Keynote items that are usually in the menu bar. I also tried open a Keynote file before opening the app, yet the same thing happened.
How can I get this fixed and what went wrong?

IT is odd that you were prompted to update since you didn't have v2 already installed,...you are correct that this is not a free update from Apple. Since you had v1, I'd erase and reinstall Keynote from your original media set.

  • Cannot open Keynote files after Keynote update. HELP!

  • Keynote update to 6.1 Issue - Please Advise

App Store shows Keynote is available to update to 6.1 (I am currently running 6.01). However, when I select update I keep getting a warning stating "An error has occurred". (An included explanation would be nice.)
I did notice that it appears as if the update may be in process? (See pic below). Not sure. I do know I can open both versions of Keynote:  '09 v 5.3 & 6.01
    Not sure what to do.
    Please advise.
This is on my Mac Mini running Mavericks 10.9.1

I also got an error in updating to keynote 6.1.  in update tab, it shows the following, u can see that I have updated Numbers successfully.
when i press the update button, finally an error box appears saying the following
when i switches to purchase tab, repeat the update for keynote
after click update button, the following happens
    how can u do?
