Keypad Lock - change unlock key sequence

Is there any way to change the keypad unlock key sequence as it is too easy to do by accident. I have found that there are a few different ways of unlocking the keypad other than the one stated in the manual, all only require two key strokes. The most annoying one is the center of the navigation key followed by 'OK' this is very easy to do whilst in a pocket. I think a key combination of at least three different keys would be better or simpler (and better for me) only unlock the keypad when opening the sliding keypad.
Any help would be appreciated.

8900 Lock button used to LOCK the keypad ie. not UNLOCK IT

Unless I'm mistaken, I'm SURE that my BB 8900 with v4.6.1.133 (Platform 4.2.0.85) USED TO LET ME LOCK the keypad permanently. Ie. I could only unlock by then pressing: * then the Green CALL button. I now find that that LOCK button is a toggle function - it now toggles between LOCK and UNLOCK.
This is a daft and unhelpful function key.
My BB gets accidentally UNLOCKED nearly every time I put in my pocket.
I had previously programmed my right-hand convenience-key to act as a 2nd LOCK button - as it would often go into camera mode accidentaly as I pulled the BB out of my pocket. That convenience key still works as a LOCK button (only) ie. it doesn't toggle between LOCK and UNLOCK.
Please can someone help advise me how I can stop the top LOCK button acting as a toggle function switch. I want it to LOCK it, not to LOCK IT then UNLOCK IT Thanks if you can help.

I am in the same boat, and you are correct, the 8900 lock button used to LOCK it, not slightly disable it temporarly. I just realized how many pocket calls I have been making lately and am pretty unhappy. You are not pressing the standby button, as someone suggested, and this is a recent change. I hope someone else can find a fix, I am going to keep looking and will post if I find it.

Keypad lock key problem

I recently upgraded the phone software to nokia v 20 in my nokia asha 202. The updates are nowhere to be seen in the phone which is a different issue but after the update the key lock button has started malfunctioning. Previously it used to lock and unlock the keypad but now it doesnt unlock the keypad anymore, the display lights just comes on and I have to press the unlock button in the screen to unlock it. Can anyone offer any help?

Keypad lock/unlock

a friend unpgraded and gave me a curve 8520. in pocket the keys get pushed. i cannot find a keypad lock/unlock only a device lock which still allows the keys to be activated. i have not attached yet to my laptop but no doubt the original owner did and so will probably have updated the software. all help gratefully receved.
amazingly i have found a way to lock/unlock the keypad so please disregard this request.

Don't press the two keys at the same time, but instead in succession--one after the other.

Nokia N97 Lock Unlock Key Broken

In fact, I found the best solution, at least for my case. As I want my phone to be locked when it is in my pocket I found an application that fits me perfectly. It is named: PocketLock. Here is the lin to the application:

In fact, I was afraid that I would press some application or to make a unwanted call when my phone is in my pocket without know that but this application avoids that. I hope it is usefull for all of you who have broken Lock/Unlock button

8900 Keypad Lock refuses to Unlock

I use A BlackBerry Curve 8900 I had to shut down my phone and when I tried to pwer it up the keypad lock was activated . I have tried to unlock it using the lock key and also the * key but both dont work. I have also tried doing a hard reboot ( removing the battery and then turning on the phone. This has not worked either. Is there anywya to bypass the keypad lock   or wjhat do you suggest that i do -and also can the keypad lock be deactivated.

Hopefully you haven't friend something inside it yet.
It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out. It really is more common than you think.
1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

Next to the ,?123 key on the lower right hand of you keyboard is the button that allows that feature. You need to hold that section down and the option will appear.

Need to Lock and unlock the fn key freely

I just today purchased the HP g72-b66us notebook. An MMO that I play uses the f # keys at the top of the keyboard for integral aspects of the game on a regular basis. Thus far I have had to hold the fn key down and that hampers gameplay ability drasticly. I'd like to be able to lock and unlock the fn key the same way one uses the number lock or caps lock. Please advise.

You Can disable that functionality by disabling "Action Keys Mode" in the BIOS...

I am rendering a TreeByNestingTableColumn with two columns like: Name , Status as below shown. In The status column I inserted a Table Cell editor Button type and the button element property text mapped to the context attribute called statusButton and set the button name in the code to display as LOCK. When the tree renders all the vales are displaying in status column as LOCK. Now whrn the user click on LOCK i should fire the event and change the button text from LOCK to UNLOCK. The same way when they click on UNLOCK and i have change to LOCK. please help how to do this.

Yes I removed the method and created the calicualted value as you suggested and I able to get the out put what i have asked.

I have a TreeByNestingTableColum UI rendering with three columns as NAME(node |>), STATUS(Toggle Button) and PLANNING (Text view) (developed based on sample tutorial Integration of a Tree Structure in a Web Dynpro Table.pdf)
I am trying to get this output:
From the sap backed i am getting flag value, based on that i have to render Tree UI columns NAME, STATUS(Toggle Button) and PLANNING (Text view). if the flag is null i have to show as LOCK and In Planning else Unlock and Submitted (please see the below picture for clear idea)*

One more thing is , If i lock a record at secound node level , then all the records should locked underneath of that node (it could be 2 nodes or 10 nodes) and then the status column values should change from lock to Unlock and Planning column values should change from In Planning to Submitted. where as when i Click on Unlock , only that perticular record (not node level) should changed from unlocked to Lock and planning is from Submitted to In Planning.
This is the functionality actually I am looking for.

C3-01 Touch and Type Keypad Lock/Unlock Issue,,

I just bought this C3-01 touch and type phone and it got big issue of locking/unlocking key pad..
phone gets locked and even if I click on keylock button and then click unlock (on touch screen) then it never gets unlocked.. (I checked guide it says same thing)

1st Of All, If u just got oyur Nokia C3-01 Device, then You must be having the old version of SOftware in it, maybe v05.68. So In that SW, You have to press the unlock, there is no swipe to unlock,
So, You can clearly see, there is a Button at the Right of your mobile below the Volume Buttons (Right If you Have your Device Screen Facing you, Left If you ahve the Back Battery Cover Facing You)
So Press that Button, you will see your display glow showing " UNLOCK " option in the middle, Press It.
It will get Unlock.
Also, after Unlocking, Before adding anything to Phone Memory (like contacts, messages,etc) make sure to update your Mobile FW/SW to the latest version out there (which is v06.05)
So, If you have a PC with internet connection, connect your Device with USB, and Use Nokia Software Updater (Or Nokia Ovi Suite, whatever you have got Installed In your PC) and Start Updating ASAP, Alot Of Bug Fixes have been Taken Place,
If Still Not Unlocked, RETURN YOUR DEVICE NOW, because your Device is Faulty.

Caps Lock LED incorrect when changing modifier keys

Hello,
I remapped Caps Lock and Ctrl keys via keyboard settings (they're now flipped). Unfortunately the Caps Lock LED is still being activated by the "old" Caps Lock key (which is now the Ctrl key). This means that whenever I hit Ctrl (using the Caps Lock key) the Caps Lock LED changes its status.
This is rather annoying as it ends up being in random state and tells me nothing about the actual Caps Lock status. Is there a way to fix this?

I suggest you call Applecare with a warranty issue. The KB has a one year Apple warranty. I would not waste any more time trying additional things. You have already tried everything I would suggest.

Hello, i think i have a problem with the key to unlocked my BB curve 9360. When I press the letter A for 2 seconds, the BB is locked. To unlock the BB, no button works. The only solution is to remove the battery!. As the lock button / unlocking seems defective, you would know the keys to use to unlock it. Thank you for your help.
