Keypad not visible to create and search contacts

I Updated to ios7.1.2 last night without any issues during update. After update i tried to create a contact and shocked to see keypad is not visible to enter a name. I tried to search a contact and found that keypad is missing. Any other members are facing the same issue??

Try forcing all applications to close and power cycle the device. Once this is done test to see if the keyboard appear.

Please tell me there is an easy fix to this problem!! I already had to go through contact-by-contact when I bought this phone and added contacts from my Blackberry and MS Outlook on the phone. Many duplicated at that time and Apple said the only fix was to go through each one and decide to keep or delete. I really don't want to do that again!

I had this problem while I had iOS 5.1.1 installed for many months. Fortunately I only have about 150 contacts and only about half of them duplicated. I found that my problem was the way thing were set up in Outlook. I removed all of the duplicates and corrected everything in Outlook contacts (ignoring the address book) and have not had the problem since, Hope this helps.

Many contacts are not visible to alphabetical browse on Contacts after update to OS 10.2 on the Z10

After updating to 10.2 on Z10 many contacts do not appear on the Contacts list, but if I search for them, I get them one at a time. I can't browse for them, but they are still in a file somewhere. That file is no longer fully connected to the Contacts app, it seems. I'm going to call the two alternatives the "browsible" list when I refer to the Contact app working correctly and lsiting the contact alphabetically; and the "non-browsible" list, when I can only find them by a search.
One other thing of interest. When I add a contact that is in the same name as one on the non-browsible, I will get a message asking me if I want to replace the [old] contact. If I say yes, the new contact listing joins the hidden list and replaces what was there. If I say no, I get the contact added to the browsible Contact app. Thereafter, if I search on that name I get two hits: one is the old, non-browsible entry and the other is the new one that is browsible.
I did the 10.2 update when I was running the older BB link on a WinXP computer and it did not work to create a back-up, so I can't try restore. I now run Win7 64-bit and the new link seems to work okay, but that was installed after I upgraded to 10.2..
Any suggestions as to where I go to find the hidden contact entries on the non-browsible list? And how I get them to appear on the alphabetical, browsible, list when Contacts is opened?

That's another odd thing. I did make a big effort to back-up the Z10 before the update to OS 10.2.1. But, it appears to me that by downloading the new OS to my computer [T-Mobile never does push the BB updates, not as long as I've owned it, which was a few days before the US distro, when I got hold of one for the South American market in Miami Breach] it seems to have removed my installed BB Link from my laptop. And my back-up files are empty.
Last time something like this happened. there was a workaround. Do this, do that, and suddently the contacts that are lurking somewhere on the phone, appear. I was hoping for this again.
If this is a known issue, why is it not featured on the BB page where the installer was located? I would never have downloaded OS 10.2.1, if I was warned I might lose my contacts and texts.

Creating and Searching index files

Hi,
This is my first posting so apologiese in advance if it is difficult to understand.
Firstly, I am from a development background of some 6 years (c#, asp.net, vb.net, SQL) so i have a solid grounding and am happy to give any new development a try.
I have a client who has 10,000's of scanned pdf documents but no real way of retrieving and searching these documents. In fact another person in my team is involved in making sure these pdfs are searchable by doing some OCR and rescanning work. I have been asked to come up with a way to allow client to retrieve(open) and search the pdf files.
Here is what i am proposing based on what I have leared about Acrobat Pro 9 and Adobe Reader 8/9.
I actually want to do a lot more than above but think that is enough to get me started. In a nutshell the client would like a web based solution to search and retrieve (open) there scanned pdf documents. I have read on other posts in the forum an understand it can be quite difficult to search pdf's (pdx file) from Internet Explorer.
As a start i had the following tasks in mind as needing completed:
Task 1 - Create directory structure on file server for all the scanned pdfs. Create catalog(s) for these documents and then create an index which creates a .pdx file. Given the number of documents it looks like I will have X number of catalogs and X number of pdx files.
Task 2 - create a web application that allows a tree view to be displayed that replicates the directory structure above so a user can open the pdf from the browser.
Task 3 - I know the users can use Adobe Reader advanced find functionality and select the indexes i have created. However, I would like to create a plugin for Adobe Reader that will load all of the indexes into the selectable index list and select all by default. Given the volume of documents it is likely the user will not know exactly what they are looking for so will need to search across all indexes.

Liveoffice is not visible in Excel and Xcelsius

Hi,
We have installed LiveOffice. This is visible in all MS Office applications like powerpoint, word and excel for the administrator .
But when I logged into the same system, live office is visible only in powerpoint and word. It is not reflected in excel and Xcelsius. But live office is enabled for all the applications in "Live Office enable_addin".
Please help me resolve this issue.

I'm running XI 3.1 with Live Office SP6 and Excel 2010
I used the Live Office "Enable Add-in" tool to enable Excel support for Live office 3.1
I launch Excel, and I see the Add-in for Business Objects Live Office 3.1 is present, however---
it does not appear in the Excel menu bar
and when I try to customize the excel toolbar or ribbon, it (Live Office) does not appear as an available option
and when I re-launch the Live office add-in tool again, the excel box gets un-checked.
Ideas?

How to set and search contact favorites

As title.
I know somewhere it showed that we can mark someone as "favorite" in Contact so that their call will not be blocked by "Do Not Disturb"
But I do not know how to set the "favotite" and how to search who has beeen set as the "favorite"

Not able to display and search on CLOB attribute in default search screen

Hi,
My requirement:
I have three VARCHAR attributes and 1 CLOB attribute. i need to search the values on these 4 attributes.
Created View crieteria on these 4 attributes and created default ADF search screen. but not able to add the CLOB attribute as search attribute.
is there any solution for this or we can't search on CLOB attribute.
FYI: i have created Converter using ClobDomain and and using this converted for editing the CLOB data.
If i try adding the CLOB attribute in view criteria with ClobDomain and not able to see that attribute on search panel.
Please help on this.

Madhu, please tell us your jdev version!
The search is done on the DB (query) so the converter is not used. To search clob columns you can use special SQL statements called contains or catsearch. These are using special index to find the data in blob or clob columns.

Problem creating and editing contacts in iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4

Just upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and cannot create new contacts starting from my existing contacts list nor can I edit any existing contact. The "edit" icon is not there. Any reason why? Was OK before the "upgrade".

I have tried restoring phone, restarting phone. Many times....
When I try to sync, a box comes upsaying "iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPhone because thre contacts are in use by the iPhone". I have NOT got contacts open. I have closed contacts AGAIN to be sure by double hitting the big button at the bottom, then closing the app by holding it down then cancelling it.
None of these work.
Any new ideas??

Custom FPM application: why is not visible when creating iview?

I am trying to modify an exiting mss application which is a fpm application.
i use the self service admin tool to copy the standard fpm application to a deltalink, and ,according to the documentation , next step should be creating an iview (webdynpro iview), and the delta link should be visible as an application variant ,but it's not there.
i tried many times and option ,but failed.
does anyone know what's going wrong?
another question is , if i build a new fpm application using the given tool, can it be visible when i create the iview? under which webdynpro component? i can only see com.sap...

I've the same problem, after copy the FPM application as delta linkit doesn't appear as anew app_variant when I create a new iview.
Does anybody know why this occurs?

USB Printer connected to Airport Express not visible on iPad and iPhone

I have got two Airport Express devices in my network, connected by ethernet. Air Play works fine. Unfortunately my iPad and iPhone do not find the printer connected by USB. Printing from a Win PC to the printer works fine. The printer is visible in the Airport Express configuration and from Windows in the Bonjour printer search.
Printing from iPad and iPhone to printers connected to the Win PC works fine.
Does anyone know what might be wrong?

E7 MFE and searching contacts on server

I'm using MFE to connect to my Hotmail inbox, but am not syncing contacts. Rather, I'd prefer to use the ability to search on the server when inputting a contact, however whenever I try I get a "Search failed. Try again later" message. Is there an issue, or is this a limitation of Hotmail using Exchange Server 2003?

I have the same issue- I have over 100 contacts and to swipe up to the top takes many tries- sometimes I inadvertantly touch the screen too hard and find it dialing someone. My wife's phone seems to always display the search part of the screen- mine never does unless I go through this whole procedure. The phones are identical in all ways except this- is there some setting that allows me to change this? It would be nice if double-clicking on the contact icon automatically brought up the search pane.

All fields are not visible while creating transformation

I am trying to create transformaion between a LO datasource and DSO designed by me. In R3, in RSA6 I can see more than 45 fields but while creating transformation only 30 fields are available.
I tried by replicating the datasource multiple times but no change.

Hi Rajesh, Please follow the follwing steps:
Goto RSA6, select your data source and then click on change and save button.
this will take you to transfer structure. There check the fiels you want to see have hide check box or not. If yes then un hide them. Then save the transfer structure.
Execute the datasource in RSA3. You should be able to see the filds you have unhide in previous step.
replicate the data source in in BW
Goto transfomation in change mode and then to routine. Now you will be able to see the fileld in the routine.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.
