Keypad not working and 10.4.6 would not load

I tried installing 10.4.6 onto my 1.83 GHz MacBook Pro to fix a problem I had with my system preferences, and when trying to restart my computer, it would not restart. I had to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall 10.4.5, which started working fine until some of the keys in my keypad randomly quit working. The keys "z x c v b n m , . " will all randomly start and staop working, making it an absolute nightmare to type anything at all. I want to know if anyone else is having these problems, and if my notebook is defective, how do I contact Apple to see about getting it replaced. I've had numerous problems occur with this notebook and have no idea if it's me or the computer itself. Can anyone please help me?

Try this. Go to http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1046comboforppc.html and download the update. Try to reinstall it. If you get the same message, create a new admin user account, log into it, and try the installer again. If that works, then the problem's with the original user account. Then, run Software Update and bring it up to 10.4.8. If still no luck, then use the install disk that came with your machine and do an Archive & Install installation, saving user and network settings—this will require running Software Update to get up to the latest version. I've just downloaded a new theme for my blackberry curve, and as soon as I rebooted the phone..
the keypad didnt work anymore, except for the left alt button.. and also the phone won't charge the battery.
I have reseted the phone by taking the battery out several times.
and also tried connecting my phone to blackberry desktop manager, but phone wouldn't connect.
what should I do? I've only had my phoe for 2 months now!

I too facing the same problem...sometimes it suddenly hangs while in a conversation. Trying to fix it, the keypad does respond. Help me fix this heck!

Some websites say that the connection reset, but after following the instructions to fix it, it still doesn't work, and recently they simply refuse to load.

Recently, Mozilla has refused to load certain webpages for me, saying that 'the connection was reset' or sometimes not loading at all. I don't know what's wrong and if it's just me. So far, I've had problems getting onto Random.org, Serenes Forest.net (which actually didn't load a few times), and Dictionary.com. Is there something wrong with my internet, and if there is, what? And why does this happen? (I don't have wireless internet, if that helps deduce the problem.)
I know that maybe this sounds like something that doesn't have to do with Firefox, but Firefox never did this before, and my computer has always worked fine before, so I think maybe something happened to my Firefox that's corrupted it in some way. Has a problem like this come up before, and if so, was it already solved?

If you are using wi-fi:
1- Are you connected?
2- Check if you have full access or only limited access, limited means no internet connection provided. (if so, proceed step 3)
3- Ping your wi-fi modem IP address:
ping 192.168.2.1 (my modem local IP Address)
If you get high number in round trip time (in miliseconds), turn off your modem for about 1 minute.
3- ping any site that did not load

Nope did not work. I get a message at the bottom asking permission to save and just as fast as I click save it says could not and then there is a rentry but that does not work as fast as you click it/ I cannot remove it because it asks permission and then you think it is going to remove it but nothing happens? TS4463 I have just installed office 365 and now icloud will not work. It says that I need to open or install outlook. Before I installed 365, ICloud worked and I believe I had Outlook loaded yet it is not there any longer. I am lost.

I just installed office 365 Home Premium editiion and have lost my ICloud capabilities. I cannot sign in nor will Photostream work. A message comes up that says I need Outlook on my computer (I had it before the 365 was loaded). I checked on-line and it says that windows 7 does not support outlook and that I cannot download it (don't know how I got it before). I am totally confused as what to do. Really upset as I needed the new office package as Windows 7 wouldn't support the 2010 started edition any longer without my buysing that. Figured it made sense to get the newest version. Packaging says that it contains outlook. I don't know what to do at this point.

Did you remove the existing installation of Office before installing the new one?

Outlook is part of Office 365, and Windows 7 supports all versions of Outlook back to 2003.
I am totally confused as what to do.
You need to correctly remove all versions of Office on your Mac, you need to remove their settings as well. You need to save your Office Userdata from removal by moving it temporarily. I would also uninstall iCloud.
Then reinstall Office 365 followed by iCloud.

Keyboard Keypad not working

I never noticed that the numerical keypad on the RH side of my keyboard was inoperative, in that I cannot use the keys to type the digits in any text, nor for entering numbers in an Excel spreadsheet cell.
I never use it except to use the 12346789 keys to nudge the pointer. I always use, by habit I guess, the number keys above the letter keys.
I checked the Finder’s Help and did not find any specific info about the numerical keypad. I thought that may be the Extended Keyboard that came with the computer, somehow had not been identified properly when I installed OS 10.4. Reading Finder’s help about that subject, it said to “Open Preferences, Click Keyboard and Mouse, Click Keyboard, Click the “Change Keyboard Type” button, and Follow the steps when the Keyboard Setup Assistant appears.”
I have one problem: my Keyboard and Mouse Preference does not have a Change Keyboard Type button.
Any suggestions as to how I can get the numerical keypad to work?

_Recommended Solutions_:
1. Press the Option key 5 times to turn Mouse Keys off.
2. Better yet, disable the feature so it can't get turned on again
every time a book leans against the keyboard.
Go into System Preferences,
click Universal Access,
click the Mouse tab (even though this is a keyboard problem),
and uncheck the checkbox labeled "Press the option key five times to turn Mouse Keys on or off".
Gotchas suck!

Why does one HDMI cord work and another one not display an image?

I have a 46L5200U TV that is about a year old. I have been fairly happy with the TV except it seems to be very problematic.
It started with some touch and go issues with the Apple TV that I started using in January. Some days it would work and some days it would give me a compatiblity error. I even connected the Apple TV to a different HDMI port with a short cable rather than the through the wall cable that runs to the access panel above the fireplace.
Recently, the HDMI cable that runs through the wall got damaged and required replacing. The alarm co. that did the original install came out and determined that they could not pull a new cable without cutting access panels in the sheetrock. I am not sure I want to have to deal with all that patchwork and $, so they were kind enough to leave me a cable that I could "borrow" until a decision is made.
Its a 35', heavy duty cable that works great with the Apple TV, but does not work with the cable box. When I get the box close enough to use a standard gauge 5' cable, the signal is fine to the TV.
I understand there is some signal degradation goes up with cable length, but why the difference between the Apple TV and the cable box?
Is this a common problem?
Would I have the same issue with wireless HDMI?

I wish I knew why my email address to the left isn't the one that is set in my preferences or in my registration profile...

I would start with closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close. Test the results after processing these steps.

Suggestions?

- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.

Well that still didn't make any kind of difference. I would just do without it but I've becomes really use to it with Avid for so long. I have to admit there are a lot of small moments like this that makes me miss Avid. Any other suggestions?
