Keypad on keyboard not working with some websites.

After upgrading to windows 7 I have certain internal and external websites that will not allow the numbers on side of keyboard to work.  I found some .net 4 security updates that were blocking those number keys.  After removing updates the problem
went away for a short time on one computer.  The other computer I had to remove .net 4 completely before I could use the numbers on the side.  Both computers after seeing them work stopped working again without the security updates being reaplied.
The .net security updates that I removed from Microsoft said this, "This update resolves vulnerabilities that could allow elevation of privilege if a user goes to a specially crafted website or a website that contains specially crafted web content."
If I remote into the computer using vnc everything works fine.  I just cannot use the side numbers keys when sitting at the local pc.
Any ideas that may help with this would be great.

Hi,
To test this issue in Clean Boot mode would eliminate the software conflicts.
If this issue persists, try this way to test:
Type without using the keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/type-without-keyboard#type-without-keyboard=windows-7
if this issue does not occur in this situation, we can reinstall the Keyboard driver.

  • Safari does not work with some websites

Allthough Safari works fine with most websites, I recently discovered that with a few it does not work properly.
With one: http://prive.eneco.nl/ the webside does not recognise my user IDE
With the other:http://prive.eneco.nl/ it does not load the page after a selection is made
In both cases Mozilla works fine.
Is there any body who could advise a solution?
    Thanks

  • QT not working with some websites

My mom is having problems looking at BBCAmerica.com. The opening page is set up by quick time. But on here macbook she gets the QT logo with a question mark. What is causing this. I ran disk utility on here macbook and installed Perian plug in as well. I cant think of any thing else though. The site works fine on my other two macs, But i cant think if I have something installed that she doesn't. Any advice? Thanks.

QT with a ? usually refers to Flash video.
She may have to tweak a few settings:
These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything that the net can throw at you: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer from http://uk.real.com/player/
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from http://perian.org/
    Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

  • Genius not working with some songs

why does genius not work with some of my songs?

For songs which the genius can't come up with a play list it seems the artist is either too small, too new, or the metadata doesn't match. For example, I had "Cardigans - Love fool" selected and I noticed iTunes had it in my "Songs your missing". I changed it to "The Cardigans - Lovefool", and then selected "Update Genius". After this iTunes removed it from the "Songs your missing", and was able to create a playlist.
The problem is I don't know how many songs iTunes can't figure out. I wish I could create a smart playlist of all the songs which the genius couldn't figure out. The problem isn't so much that I can't get a playlist from a song I selected, but I know if the genius skips a song, then it won't include it with other recommendations. While the genius feature is great, I'd hate to find out in six months that it's been ignoring 75% of my library.
In order to get some of my indy music to play with the genius playlist, I create a smart playlist which includes a genius playlist, and then a list of artists which it can also choose from.
While it's great that the genius can figure out information from the cloud, it could spend more time looking at patterns within your own library. If I create a playlist of New Jersey rock bands, it should be able to figure out that my indy artists are related to the mainstream artists in the same playlist.
The good thing about the Genius is it understands that people listen to multiple genres. I like to listen to classical when I'm studying, and folk music when I'm surfing the web. Last.fm will create a recommended playlist of half classical and half folk. The genius doesn't look at your whole library and come up with something that tries to match all your tastes. As a result of it using genres to cluster music, it doesn't mix holiday music in with your playlists like other recommendation services do.

Why is Emoji Keyboard not working with iOS7....??? Is there any setting which I am missing? Can anyone help

Yes. you should keep your media in iTunes, and indeed you should also keep a backup of your library as well. if you have the device set up for manual management then the content would remain on it when deleted from the library, but you would have no way to restore the device if there was a problem.

why do the "SHOW THE PREVIOUS PAGE arrows not work on some websites such when I try yto return to a previous page the arrows at the top right of the page do not work instead they are light grey instead black and do nothing---this is frustrating to not be able to return to the page before--HELP

If a page you go to opens in a new tab, there is no 'back' to go to. If that is the case, just close the tab and you'll be at the page you came from.

  • My DVD player does not work with some DVDs

My DVD does not work with certain DVDs.  Do I need to get it replaced or is there some other problem.

Could it be that they're out-of-region DVDs? Which model MBP do you have (15" late 2011, for example) and which version of OS X are you running?

  • Print function is not working with certain websites, specifically PNC bank

When trying to print on specific websites, all that is printed is a blank page, no content. This specifically happens on PNC website, but has occurred on others as well.

    Hi vermontgolfer,
I am sorry to hear that the printing is not working for this website. If you go to about:permissions and look for the website name you can check to see if there are any saved preferences that may be causing this.
Since they are printing blank pages, please make sure that you have updated to version 29.0.1 as this was a bug in pdf.js that was fixed with this update. If you are not using pdf.js you can reset the printing settings with these references: [[Fix printing problems in Firefox]]

  • Why the iPad internal speakers not working with some applications and key sound?

My iPad1 ' internal speakers not fully functioning. It is working with music and video, YouTube , but not working with applications such as games.
Also with key pad sound .
Please help me in this regard.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • IMessage not working with some contacts

I have ipad2, iMessage not working with contacts except between my son and my iPad.  Get a red exclamation mark and send button is greyed out.  Have rebooted, reactivated apple id and email address.  Running latest software. Can anyone help please.

Imessage only works to other folks who have a device on ios5, and who have activated i message.  In their set up, theyndeclared one or more specific 'receive at' addresses.  Are the folks you are trying to reach on apple devices with i mesage?  The red exclamation means, i think, that the apple server did not find that address as registered.

  • Keyboard not working with xorg-server 1.6.1-1 or xkeyboard 1.5-1

    Hello!
I have a problem with a no working keyboard. It seems like this is a problem related to some of the latest xkeyboard-config or xorg-server versions. This have been a problem some time, but it have been solved by downgrading xkeyboard-config to v1.5-1 and xorg-server to v1.6.1-1.
I'm booting into runlevel 3. Keyboard is working in the terminal, but when I run startx, the keyboard stops working. The mouse works fine.
Have tested with an empty xorg.conf file. Then I get a 'no screen found' error. And I have tryed to enable the keyboard entry in xorg.conf. X starts, but no keyboard. Hal is running.
    Any ideas?

  • Keyboard not working with Mail

I have a new iMac aluminum, and everything was working ok for a week or so. Then the keyboard Update popped up, so I downloaded it. Seemed ok for a day (maybe just until I shut off the machine, though.)
Now, most programs are fine, but within Mail, the Reply and Reply All buttons do not work. If I start up a new message, I can type just fine up until the first space. After the first press of the spacebar, all I get are alert sounds for every key pressed.
Also, cannot send any message (Send button and shortcut not working.)
    Help! And thanks!

This problem in Mail is usually caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption that affects the built-in spell checker. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services — the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:
    Resetting Launch Services
If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, take a look at this other article for general troubleshooting and cache-cleaning procedures. Actually, you should also verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described there:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
The most appropriate utility for this particular problem probably is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
    3. Go to Maintenance > Reset and check LaunchServices database.
    4. Un-check any other pre-checked options.
    5. Click the Execute button.
    6. Restart the computer.

  • Wireless Keyboard not working with iPad2

I've already wasted way too much time on a Apple product that has changed my mind about the company. I jumped through all of the necessary hoops to engage my wireless keyboard with my iPad2 but the keyboard will not type a single word. It says it's connected but it's not working. I got it to type twice for about 5 seconds each time but that was it. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. I hope there is a simple fix.

The key lag or delay seems like it's a setting in the keyboard settings/ipad keyboard settings itself. Witness the keyboard preference pane in mac os x. I wonder if it's a accessibility setting...
To rule out third party apps:
    1. Launch the Notes app. Type. If the notes app does not have the issue, it is the specific third-party apps you are using. I notice that some apps do not support bluetooth keyboards. Normally, they don't type at all.
    But who knows?
    2. Look for something in setting that controls keyboard delay?
Shut down any "open" apps. (I know that multiple apps cannot run at the same time on the ipad, but humor me.) [Note: just replicating what apple sometimes has people try.]
Turn off wi-fi and cellular data. Test again.
If this works, some syncing or downloading activity is happening in the background and creating lag.
Given that entering the code works fine, I doubt the hardware or bluetooth connection is faulty.
Post back with results and we'll decide what to do.
P.S Have you tried pairing the keyboard to a computer? Does this work ok?
