Keys are sticking on a bluetooth keyboard

How do you take apart the wireless bluetooth keyboard to clean it? Some keys are sticking after it was cleaned.

I used some commercial workstation/keyboard spray cleaner. Previous to that some coffee has been spilled on it. However, I was able to lift some keys up a little and that seems to have broken whatever was making it stick.
I was wondering though, just in case something did happen that I needed to get into the keyboard, how I could take it apart.
Thanks for the response.

  • "F" Keys on iPad and Apple Bluetooth Keyboard

Anybody know how to get the "F" Keys on my Apple bluetooth keyboard to work with my iPad? I need to use F1, F2, etc. Please Help.

You might notice that keyboards sold exclusively for use with the iPad do not include function keys. That is because the iPad does not currently offer any system-wide method for assigning actions to those keys. I suppose that individual apps might be able to look for function key presses and have actions assigned to them, but since most apps are designed to work with the iPad's built-in input tools, I doubt that many – or any – apps implement this.

  • CTRL, ALT and SHIFT keys are sticking (not physically)

I am having a problem with the T-61p I have been using for 2 years now.
About once every 2 days Windows thinks that either the CTRL, the ALT or the SHIFT key is held down.  I only notice this when my mouse's left click or my arrow keys starts behaving funny (like opening dialogs when clicking on icons or highlighting text on a page in MS Word) instead of moving the cursor as they should.
When this starts happening, pressing the CTRL, ALT and SHIFT buttons causes the strange behavior to stop.
None of the keys are physically stuck down.  I am using an external keyboard with my laptop closed and docked.  I have tried switching keyboards, and I get the same results with brand new Logitech keyboards.
What could this be?  Has anyone seen this problem before?
    Your help is much appreciated.

It sounds like you've inadvertently turned on the Sticky Keys accessibility feature.  Since you didn't mention which operating system you're using, I can't tell you how to turn it off.  Trying searching for Sticky Keys in Help in the Start button menu.
    Hope this helps!

  • What are the best portable Bluetooth keyboards for 3rd G and 4G iPod Touch?

I have both a 32 Gb 3G iPod Touch and a new 8 Gb 4G iPod Touch which I am trying to determine the best choices of a portable (folding or otherwise) Bluetooth keyboard to facilitate faster typing than using that on the iPod.  I have reviewed similar excellent threads for recommendations for folding boards for the iPad, but these threads are two years old with last entries in 2010, so I am opening this thread in hopes that additonal product recommendations might be available.
My purpose is to select a good quality one that functions well for a touch typist (moderately skilled).  I am thinking that the Apple one is a bit bulky to carry around, but also I realize the folding models also have limitations for touch typists.  One I have been considering recently is the Verbatum  Wireless Bluetooth Mobile Folding Keyboard for various later model Apple products for iPhone, IPod, and IPad that is currently selling around $50.
I would appreciate any experience and recommendations that people that have use this product or others that they would reccomend.

    Andy-
When printing, the printer should be visible if it is an AirPrint printer, connected by WiFi or to a WiFi router via Ethernet (NOT USB), and the WiFi router is capable of correctly handling Bonjour data required by AirPrint.
To determine if your printer is capable of AirPrint, see <AirPrint-enabled printers>.  Even if it is on that list, it may be necessary to update the printer's firmware before AirPrint will work.
It may be possible to change the setup or update the firmware of a WiFi router that does not work with AirPrint.  Contact the router's manufacturer for info, if that is the problem.
Search the iTunes App store for iPad printing Apps from your printer manufacturer.  There are other printing Apps such as Print n Share, but these are not as convenient or as easy to use as AirPrint.
It is also possible to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  One program that does this is Printopia for Macintosh.  For a free solution, search the web for AirPrint Activator.  Versions are available for both PC and Mac computers.

  • Keys are not working on Pro Keyboard.

I have a Pro and a few keys started to not work at all. Any ideas to why or how I can fix it?

Failure on many keyboards seems to happen in clusters of keys that are near each other.
Many designs today feature a complete rubber  membrane, so spills are not an issue until it is so much liquid that it runs off the edges and into the electronics below.
X423424X is right if it is under warranty-- the folks at the store think of most of those keyboards as near-disposable and just slap a new one in.

IiOS 8 post-installation problems. Totally unreliable performance. CONSTANT crashes, keys stick, application times out mid-use, inconsistent about saving photos. Very frustrating to have shoddy performance from this expensive IPad 2 device. Cannot afford a replacement on my retiree income.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • Macbook Pro Retina and Older Bluetooth Keyboard Bug

I have the macbook pro retina and the older full size white bluetooth keyboard.  When I wake the macbook from sleep mode, the keyboard repeats all keypress many times.  Like the keys are sticky.  Turning the keyboard off and on fixes this problem.  I am running OS X 10.8.1.

I have the same problem with my older white Apple Wireless Extended Keyboard, which had been working fine with my 2009 iMac. But I experience the issue sporadically with my new Mac Mini. I've read reports of people resolving some BT issues by turning off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" in the Advanced pane of the Bluetooth System Preferenes Pane.
There are also people having the issue on iOS devices using various Apple BT keyboards. No help, but interesting to note that it's happening across various devices, keyboard models, and OSs.

  • My bluetooth keyboard is not working properly.

I know that there are several posts about bluetooth keyboards messing up, but I could not find a post that was specific to my issue. I was wiping my keyboard off earlier this evening, and afterwards some of the keys are very messed up. Whenever I type the letter "n" (by itself) it opens a new window in my browser. The command key alone does it as well. When I type "a" by itself, it comes up "ag" lol. There are more variations, but I won't list them all for now. The shift keys do not seem to be doing anything either, nor do the numbers 5,6, and 7. I don't know if there was a sequence I accidentally did when wiping it off that activated this, or if my keyboard is just dying a painful death... The batteries are brand new. I have tried holding the power button down for 6 seconds, and pairing it again (have issues with that when it asks for the numbers 5, 6, or 7 lol). I have reset everything to default on the external keyboards settings as well. I really appreciate any help guys! I use the keyboard only when my macbook is connected to a monitor, so it isn't like a terrible situation... Just an inconvenience
    Thanks for the help!

Did you use any liquid? If so, the KB is probably toast.

  • My Bluetooth keyboard no longer wakes my iPad

    Hi Everyone,
I've noticed that in the last couple of weeks that my iPad is no longer woken by pressing the 'space' key on my paired (Apple) bluetooth keyboard.  I'm finding this rather annoying as it's been how I wake the iPad since I started using the two together and it's become a habit.
Is anyone else experiencing this or is there a setting I can change somewhere to correct this?  Also, in addition, does anyone have experience of keys 'double tapping' whilst using the bluetooth keyboard?
Many thanks in advance for any help!

  • Pairing with brand new 2008 bluetooth keyboard, Boot Camp 2.0

I have a very simple question. I've searched the forums and seen a lot of information about older versions of Boot Camp, old drivers, and a lot of problems. However, none of these answers have really helped.
I have a brand new Bluetooth keyboard - brand new, as in bought it last week.
I have a relatively new MacBook Pro. Relatively new, as in bought it six months ago.
The Bluetooth keyboard works stunningly well under OS X 10.5.4. I'm using it right now. It works. I don't want that to stop.
So the question: can I have the keyboard work under BOTH Windows XP (under boot camp) AND OS X?
I did try to see if I could make it work....
    1. Reboot under XP (boot camp whatever the latest version is, I installed boot camp two weeks ago).
    2. Select Control Panel - Bluetooth Devices
    3. Check the box
    4. Press button on right side of keyboard
    5. Quickly press "next" button.
The first time I did this, the keyboard came up in the dialog box. It then asked me for a pass key, which I typed on my laptop's keyboard. I then tried typing the same pass key (my phone #) on the bluetooth keyboard and pressing Enter. The dialog box closed.
The keyboard did not work. At all.
Rebooted Windows. Keyboard still did not work. "Did not work" means did not register any key presses at all in the Notepad application.
The second time I tried steps 1-5 I got a different result. Instead of listing my keyboard, the Bluetooth wizard couldn't find a keyboard, or any nearby bluetooth devices.
So, if I 'un pair' the keyboard under OS X, and then 're pair' the keyboard under Windows, will I then need to 'un pair' the keyboard under Windows and then 're pair' it under OS X to make it work?

I paired my brand new Bluetooth keyboard (3 days old) with both the OSX and WinXP sides of my Mac Pro without a problem. I did OSX first and then Windows. On the Windows side it displayed a passkey but never gave me a chance to enter it on the keyboard. It just moved on to the next dialog screen and from then on it worked.

    Hi there
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that some keys are not working on your keyboard. I am happy to help with this. Are those keys working consistently in some applications? For now I would suggest you look at it as a cleaning issue. Perhaps some dust or debris is affecting the key presses.

  • Using two bluetooth keyboards in same room without conflict

    Hello!
I´m looking for the solution for a very annoying problem. I have a macbook pro and my boyfriend has a macbook. We are booth using apple bluetooth keyboards. The problem is that it often happens that his kayboard is trying to connect to my macbook pro and vice versa. It is very disturbing because you have chose "deny connection" all the time wile you ae working. Or it happens that the bluetooth keyboard wakes the other ones Macbook/Pro. Is there someway to solve this problem. There must be thousand of people working with bluetooth devices in the same environment (area of 10 meters or whatever) or do we have to go back to wired keyboards for integrity?

    Rapunsel,
My wife and I are using 2 apple bluetooth keyboards and 1 apple bluetooth mouse succesfully within around 4m of each other. I would suggest trying to re-pair both keyboards again. Turn off bluetooth on the other machine whilst re-pairing the keyboards in case this is causing any of the macs or keyboards any confusion.
    Regards
