Keys don't react at once

MacBook users have got a firmware update because keys don't react immediately when pressed. I have the same problem with a Powerbook G4. Can I install the same update? I have the latest OS.

Hi, Bjorn. I doubt very much that anything written by Apple specifically for the MB/MBP can be installed on any Powerbook, but here's a link to the updater. You can download it and see whether it will run. I fully expect it to refuse.
If your Powerbook is sluggish in responding to keystrokes, it's undoubtedly for some reason that appropriate troubleshooting would reveal. Have you tried creating a new account and logging into it to see whether the sluggishness affects only your original account? How large is your hard drive, and how much space is available on it? How much RAM is installed in your Powerbook?

Tom: You say you've tried Command-Option-Shift-Delete to boot to the AHT CD using a USB keyboard, without the desired result. Have you tried the same key combination using the built-in keyboard? I'm not sure whether you're supposed to be able to use a USB KB to control the startup process, and it may matter what USB keyboard you use.
Once you've booted to the HD with the USB keyboard connected, can you use it to type the characters that don't work on the built-in KB, including c, t, Option, Delete, zero, hyphen, Return and any others that seem to be broken on the PB's KB? If so, your built-in KB may be bad, or it may not be securely connected to the logic board. Have you disconnected and reconnected the KB cable (it's right under the KB)?

Some keys don't work in combination with Shift

Okay so I have the Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b011nr

and today I noticed certain keys don't work in combination with the left Shift for example, Shift+S (both left and right), Shift+M, Shift+Z, Shift +X, Shift+C don't work, shift+F does work but gives me this FV. same with j it gives me JM instead. I installed an updated bios, ran a diagnostic test using F2 and under the compenant test for the keyboard it failed and gave me this

now while trying to type all this I found other letters now working as well as me not being able to input the semicolon with either shift key. frustrating since I got this laptop in June so it's still under warranty. About the iTunes library files

Some of my keys don't work and now I can't login

Yesterday I accidentally spilled some liquid on my keyboard. A vey small amount and generally my computer is fine. I used q tips and paper towels to clean under the keys as best I could, turned it off, and put it in rice. unfortunately a few of my keys don't work--u i j k " : m < . The rest of the keyboard is fine and when I checked my laptop was still working fine. I"ll buy condensed air, and then pop off the keys and clean it if necessary. But I figured even if it didn't fix the problem I'm not buying a new laptop right now so I would just work around the missing keys. But I decided to restart my laptop and now I'm stuck on the login screen bc my password requires some of those keys. I was hoping to use my appleId to get in but I'm never prompted for it after entering wrong passwords. I was going to create a new user and bypass the password but the commands to do that also require those keys. I don't have access to my
installation discs.

How many keys can be pressed at once

i want to play an online rhythm music game.. which would require the pressing of more than one key at one time.. so I wish to know how many keys can be pressed at once without the computer hanging or the keyboard jamming?
I'm using a Macbook, 2.0ghz, Black with 1 gig ram. Thanks.

By and large the keyboard does what the programmer of the software tells it to do - part of the programming is to address the input/output devices required by the application. By the same token the programmer can't require you to use keystrokes that can't be addressed through the OS involved.
It doesn't make much sense for someone to write software that can't be used.

[Solved]Keyboard layout screwed up and some keys don't work

After I reinstalled xorg-server 1.5.3-1 and installed xf86-input-evdev 2.0.1-1 and xf86-input-keyboard 1.3.1-1 some of my keys don't work and keyboard layout screwed up. I had finnish (fi) layout, but now it's "us". Arrows, insert- delete- home- end- pg up- pg down- print screen- scroll lock- pause- keys don't work. All characters behind Alt Gr + "" don't work either.
How to fix this?

Is the version of Windows 7 Ultimate you have installed 32bit or 64bit?
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers - do you see an existing entry for the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC listed here?
There is an alternative IDT Audio driver you may wish to try on the following link.

Tabulation and arrow keys don�t work through ssh

Hi!
I just got a solaris 10 on a v240. But I loggin through SSH, tabulation key and arroy keys don� t work. It � s quite nasty because I cannot just repeat a command for example, I�ve to type it allover again. I� m quite surprised because I have an old solaris where it does work without problem. Should I change something in the configuration?

csh and sh don't support autocompletion or arrow histories. you'd need tcsh or bash or something.

Foxit reader with wine: full search don't react to mouse

Hello,
I want use full search feature in Foxit reader with wine.(to search for text in pdf's in specific directory). It does find text occurrences, *but* full search tab does not responds to mouse, and i can't select results. (actually, i need to tab through all bullets to start the search, because they don't react to mouse at all)
Does anybody tried it? Is there any solution?
I tried all Foxit versions, and they all behaves the same.
I used wine-1.1.44, but it was the same with all wine versions, for ~1 year.

I had this feeling that there will be those questions...
To sum-up, no native Linux pdf reader has abilities, that i need.
I need to work a lot with pdf's, i need searching in directories, i need to annotate.
Foxit through wine is the closest solution to my needs, but there is this problem...
So please, don't ask any questions why i don't use this and that, i tried everything.
PDF-XChange works nicely with wine, and does everything, but it uses way too much recourses.
Okular is quite good, but when you annotate something, it gets so ssslow, and it stores markups not in pdf, so other pdf readers don't see annotations.
Back to question. Does anybody knows, why Foxits Full search sidebar, don't react to mouse? Maybe you had similar problems with other software?

Several keys don't work properly on my MacbookPro keyboard, How can I fix it?

Whenever i press the enter key it writes the letter p and a space, the same with the P key, also the 0 and the ' key don't work at all. If it's not a hardware problem how can i fix this? I really need help because i've tried everything but I havent been able to make my keyboard work right, I have a MacbookPro fron the lates 2012 runing Mavericks.

If your MBP is under warranty, bring it to an Apple store and have the technicians fix it. If not, try the steps in this support article:

After 10.4.7 update, arrow keys don't work

After installing 10.4.7 update, my arrow keys don't work at all in finder (three column mode). I can arrow up and down in list mode.
