KeyStore provider is deprecated, what to use in its place?

Hi Folks,
Here (http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/secintro/model.html#1024111), I am
told that the keystore provider is deprecated.
Unfortunately, it doesn't tell me why it is deprecated, nor what I should
use in its place.
I still need it to store the private keys used in the SSL configuration, so
why is it deprecated?
Regards,
Jon

In 8.1, we added keystores to the server mbean. Having a provider to
configure
the keystore information was limiting as it required all servers in the
domain to
have the same keystore filename (since keystore providers are configured
on the realm and there is one realm in the domain).
You can continue to use the keystore providers in 7.0. We just didn't want
anyone writing their own providers.

Jon

    I have been using GetProcessForPID to get the ProcessSerialNumber for the running application, as in

  • SunPKCS11 doesn't work as default keystore provider for SSL connections

    Hi all,
    I'm experiencing a problem using SunPKCS11 as a keystore provider for SSL.
    Below the code that doesn't work as expected:
    String pkcs11config = "name = " + "bit4id" + "\nlibrary = " + "c:/windows/system32/bit4p11.dll";
    byte[] pkcs11configBytes = pkcs11config.getBytes();
    ByteArrayInputStream configStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(
    pkcs11configBytes);
    AuthProvider pkcs11Provider = new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11(
    configStream);
    pkcs11Provider.setCallbackHandler(new MyGuiCallbackHandler());
    if (Security.getProvider(pkcs11Provider.getName()) != null) {
    Security.removeProvider(pkcs11Provider.getName());
    Security.insertProviderAt(pkcs11Provider, 2);
    //Security.insertProviderAt(pkcs11Provider, 1);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreProvider",
    pkcs11Provider.getName());
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType",
    "PKCS11");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore",
    "NONE");
    KeyManager[] KM = {KeyStore.getInstance("PKCS11") };
    SSLContext sslcont = SSLContext.getInstance("SSL");
    sslcont.init(null  /*KM*/ , tmS, rng);If i use KM everything works fine, but if I try to initialize the sslcontext using the default keyStoreProvider (just replacing KM with null, and without any other modification to the code), it uses SUN instead of PKCS11, even if I set the system properties javax.net.ssl.keyStore* (as you can see in my code)
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank's in advance and happy new year,
    Patrizio

    That's what I tried first, but it didn't work.
    I followed instructions at
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/security/jsse/JSSERefGuide.html#CustomizingStores
    Then I found something about dynamic provider allocation at
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=2&threadID=5172412
    so I tried to dynamically allocate SunPKCS11-bit4id as a provider.
    Any suggestion?

    Hi Majid,
              It's a function module to read the texts from a text file. Generally it is used to retrieve the long texts.
    The function module reads the desired text from the text file, the text memory, or the archive. You must fully specify the text using OBJECT, NAME, ID, and LANGUAGE. An internal work area can hold only one text; therefore, generic specifications are not allowed with these options.
    After successful reading, the system places header information and text lines into the work areas specified with HEADER and LINES.
    If a reference text is used, SAPscript automatically processes the reference chain and provides the text lines found in the text at the end of the chain. If an error occurs, the system leaves the function module and triggers the exception REFERENCE_CHECK.

    Hi Mandy,
    You can do this:
    On the MDM Console, right click on the Repository -> Properties -> PDF -> Allow invalid PDFs -> Yes .
    Alternatively,
    You can also find some information about it on https://service.sap.com/srm within this link on the left frame go into

    What is use of % symbol in JSP? Please replySome people on this thread have provided you good
    answers.
    You may also want to know that the new way ofwriting
    JSPs is with JSTL and scriptlets <% anything that
    goes here is a scriptlet %> are discouraged.
    But it's good to get basic foundation inscriptlets
    too incase there's legacy JSP code.why would you need a foundation in scriptlets,
    though? if it's legacy code, it's already there, and
    it's just java. if you can't work out that the stuff
    that looks like java code in a legacy JSP actually
    is java code, you're in trouble. and wouldn't
    part of the maintenance be to refactor the scriptlets
    out?It's not really just Java IMO because JSP has additional concepts like
    implicit objects such as page, request, session, out etc ---- a newbie who knows Java won't have a clue when the come across the implicit objects and can't find where they were declared.
    Also the concept of directives is not in Java Classes but on in JSPs.
    JSP has some features that would be new or confusing to someone who has only worked with Java, therefore a newbie to JSP would be better off learning JSP concepts.

    Hi,
    Use of Adobe form:
    As of SAP NetWeaver u201904 (in SAP Web Application Server), you can use a new solution to create interactive forms and print forms for the optimization of your form-based business processes. This solution uses Portable Document Format (PDF) and software from Adobe Systems Inc. that has been integrated into the SAP environment.
    You can create interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further.
    Smart form Vs Adobe form
    Smart forms / scripts are used to show the data in SAP. Most likely you will use these to print / display some kind of reciepts / forms.
    but, Adobe forms are used to post data into SAP from SAP too.
    ●      Create form templates for the layout that include logos or pictures
    ●      Generate documents by merging form templates and current system data
    ●      Edit forms online or offline
    ●      Forms can be filled in advance automatically with specific data from SAP applications and then sent to the correct recipients using secure methods
    ●      Automatic consistency checks for forms
    ●      Activate enhanced functions such as comments
    ●      Digital signatures and form certification
    ●      Send completed forms to the SAP application with automatic updates of the business data

  • Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing: What functionality is lost when disabling? What else uses them?

    Server OS: Windows 2008 R2 Standard
    Function: Primary Domain Controller and Print Server
    Clients: All are running Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit SP1
    We're considering disabling the HP Universal Print Driver Language Monitor and in-turn Bi-directional Printing due to potential server spooler instabilities, before we do this the IT Manager wants to be sure:
    1. What functionality is lost when disabling Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing?
    2. What else uses Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing them? In other words what may break?
    3. What specifically do Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing provide?
    Thanks

    Alan (or anyone else):
    We're testing disabling the language monitor/bidirectional printing for one particular printer.
    Can I confirm this is the procedure for disabling a particular print queue's Language Monitor and Bidirectional Printing? -
    1. Locate the relevant Language Monitor registry key in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
    Either delete or rename the registry key (so it cannot be found), in my case: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\HPMLM121
    I renamed it to have the date at the end (HPMLM121_2015-01-29).
    2. Inside the above registry key is a DLL file mentioned under the DRIVER reference. In my case it's called: hpmlm121.dll.
    I searched the entire C drive on the server and this was only found in C:\Windows\System32. I moved this elsewhere out of C:\Windows and also renamed the DLL too.
    Therefore preventing Windows from being able to find/use it.
    3. I then unticked Bidirectional Printing Support in the Printer Properties Ports tab of the printer in question.
    4. Lastly either restart the server (or stop/restart the Spooler service).
    I've done all this and the HP Print Notifications for Replace Cartridge etc... are still active.
    Any idea why this is?
    Thanks

  • For what is used the Serializable?

    Hi! I'm wondering for what can I use the Serializable interface. Since it do not have methods or fields. Can you tell me for what it is used and provide a little example of it?
    Thanks a lot!
    Raul

    Please tell me if the interface Serializable is having
    no methods and variables. Then whats the use of this
    kind of interfaces...
    Marker Interface Pattern
    The marker interface pattern is a design pattern in computer science.
    This pattern allows a class to implement a marker interface, which exposes some underlying semantic property of the class that cannot be determined solely by the class' methods. Whereas a typical interface specifies functionality (in the form of method declarations) that an implementing class must support, a marker interface need not do so. The mere presence of such an interface indicates specific behavior on the part of the implementing class. Hybrid interfaces, which both act as markers and specify required methods, are possible but may prove confusing if improperly used.
    One good example of a marker interface comes from the Java programming language. The Cloneable interface should be implemented by a class if it fully supports the Object.clone() method. Every class in Java has the Object class at the root of its inheritance hierarchy and so every object instantiated from any class has an associated clone() method. However, developers should only call clone() on objects of classes which implement the Clonable interface, as it indicates that the cloning functionality is actually supported in a proper manner.

  • What is used for WebDynpro for ABAP?

    hi all friends,,
    what is used for WebDynpro for ABAP?
    Thanks,
    S.Suresh.

    Hi
    Web Dynpro for ABAP - Getting Started
    Web Dynpro for ABAP is SAP’s new standard UI technology for developing user interfaces in the ABAP environment. In the long term Web Dynpro for ABAP will be the successor of the traditional screen (“Dynpro”) based user interface technology which is based on the SAP GUI. Available with NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) Web Dynpro for ABAP provides the same declarative UI development paradigm as Web Dynpro for Java directly out of the NetWeaver ABAP Application Server. Web Dynpro for ABAP allows the development of user interfaces directly within the ABAP Workbench (SE80) and the Web Dynpro runtime environment is a central part of the ABAP server and can be used in any SAP solution based on NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) without the need of an additional server installation.
    Web Dynpro for ABAP allows the development of user interfaces in a declarative way by providing a mighty framework which abstracts the rendering technology from the core UI definition tasks. The Web Dynpro developer declares the layout and behavior of the UI without caring about HTML, JavaScript, browser specifics or the HTTP protocol. Instead the focus lies on designing graphically Web Dynpro components based on the Model View Controller model, which enforces a clear separation between the UI layer and the underlying business logic.
    This declarative Web Dynpro programming model enforces the developer to focus on the tasks of
    Designing the layout of the visible views (where should the table be placed, do I need tabs, how should the button look?)
    Declaring the flow and behavior of the application (flow between views, which event is triggered by which button click, etc)
    Defining the data binding (which internal table is displayed in a specific table, etc)
    Implementing the event handlers and controller methods.
    Without making any assumption about the used rendering technology, like which browser should be supported or if the Web Dynpro application will be later displayed in a web browser via HTML at all or in another kind of client with completely different rendering capabilities.
    The Web Dynpro Frameworks provides all important UI features directly out of the box:
    All elements (tables, buttons, trees, dropdown list boxes, etc) necessary for state of the art user interfaces are provided by the Web Dynpro Framework in the form of predefined UI element libraries.
    Complex features and behavior of UI elements.
    Internationalization of the UI. All visible strings in a Web Dynpro ABAP UI are handled by the translation system and are translated in the same translation environment like other ABAP language dependent resources. All texts are displayed automatically at runtime, dependent of the user’s credentials.
    Accessibility features are directly built into the framework and UI elements.
    A unified rendering engine generates at runtime the data which is sent to the specific client application, which is not limited to browsers but includes the NetWeaver Business Client.
    All this is available in the established environment of the ABAP application server and well known capabilities like the transportation and change management system, security environment, test and performance analysis tools or remote debugging can be used like in common ABAP development.

    Click on the hard drive on the desktop or in the sidebar and choose Get Info from the File menu.

    Manually delete applications you drag-installed and use a provided uninstaller or software such as AppZapper for others.
