KeyUp Script Provided by Adobe Does Not Function. . .

Hi There,
I downloaded the KeyUp script provided by Adobe. The link to the script can be found in the help files for the Mac version of AE CS3. Essentially, the script is designed to allow users to change the shortcut key assignments in AE CS3. So, I was thrilled to learn about this since I have a new MacBook Pro, and the numeric keypad is. . . yes. . . gone!
In any case, I load up the script, and it gave me an error saying that I needed to enable the "Allow scripts to write files and access the network" General Preference. I did that, and the script executed superbly. I then reassigned the keyboard shortcuts and it updated fine. I changed the shortcut for RAM Preview (which is NumPad0 by default) to the "/" key. I restarted AE and sure enough the symbol next to the "RAM Preview" menu item was changed.
Here's the problem: when I press the "/" key on the keyboard, the "Composition" menu at the top does flash blue, but NOTHING happens! Has anybody out there used the KeyUp script with the Mac Version of AE CS3? If anybody can shed some light on this, that would be great.

Thank you for responding. After tinkering some more, I found the reason my reassignment of the "/" was not working. It is because it is assigned to three other function in various window panes (i.e. composition, layer, and flowchart), so I had to simply unassign the "/" key from those shortcuts to make the RAM Preview execute.
While I know I have another thread going on about this question, I was curious to know if you had any knowledge as to why xGestures on OSX Leopard does not work with AE. It works great with Photoshop, but am curious if AE captures mouse events with different methods than AE. I'd really like to be able to use gestures with AE as I do on my Windows box.

I read the Troubleshooting extensions & Themes, but It didn't help.
When I tried to read "http://kb.mozillazine.org/Password_Manager" I get a page that says:

Also, this error occurs in ALL 3rd Party extensions. It can't log me into E-Mail accounts, Facebook, Twitter, anything. The error message has a window title of [JAVASCRIPT APPLICATION] if that says anything.

Firewire does not function after uninstalling macfuse and an out of date version of NTFS32 and then installed latest version of Tuxera NTFS for Mac.

I purchased a 3TB HDD (WD USB 3.0 $100) to replace the 2TB Seagate for a new Time Machine HDD. The 2B was full and backups were deleting older files. The 3TB was formatted NTFS and I want to "recover" the included SW before I reformatted the HDD for the iMac. I discovered that MacFuse was out of date and unsupported and my NTFS-32 was also out of date so I uninstalled both and then installed the most recent version of Tuxera NTFS for Mac. I rebooted and discovered that the FW800 port was unresponsive. Below is the EtreCheck report:

Localized brush tool does not function in 2.1

Greetings All,
This may have been discussed previously, but I have just registered on the Forum, and I opted not to search every topic.
The Adjustment Brush in version 2.1 still does not function properly on my computer. I cannot see the mask, and the tool takes forever to register a change. For example, I will try to paint in an adjustment--nothing will happen, and I try something else. Several minutes later, the first adjustment may register. This extremely long delay--and not all the adjustments I attempt even register with the system--makes it all but impossible to use.
I love Lightroom. The adjustment brush would be a great feature--it's probably the single reason why I upgraded to 2.0. However, the bugs have still not been fixed.
FYI, my computer runs XP on dual 3.19GHz processors with 4 Gigs of RAM.
Hoping Adobe will fix this,

Thanks for the "O" tip. It makes the mask visible. Unfortunately it still does not make the tool work correctly. Maybe with the next update . . .

Thanks for the tip on the nvidia cards. Unfortunately, I do not have an nvidia card. I actually tried to upgrade to an nvidia card. Called them, called Dell. Everybody said it would work. Card arrives and it's twice the size of the available slot. Ah well . . .

Restart your AirPort Base Station or other router if that's what you have. Unplug it and allow a moment or two for it to reset before plugging it back in again.
If that does not work, try resetting your network settings: on the iPad and iPhone, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, select your network then "Forget this Network". Select the network again, provide its password, and verify you can connect.
If that does not work, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Select your network again as above.
If that does not work, "hard reset" your AirPort Base Station, assuming you are using one and not some third party product. You will need to reconfigure it using AirPort Utility.

Just so you'll know, there is no Java on that page. There is, however JavaScript. You should know that those two things are different as night and day.

ADE 2.0 does not function

Digital editions 2.0 seems to install on my laptop running Windows XP but it does not function. It does function on another computer running Windows 7. What can i do?

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0. Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

You may be mixing up two entirely different Adobe products.
1. Adobe Flash Player. Needed to view web pages designed with Flash. Not needed to view PDF files. Not available for Android (not just Sony).
2. Adobe Reader. Reads PDF files. However, the Android can also read most PDF files without needing Adobe Reader.

Adobe does NOT automatically open when attachments are 'clicked'

Thanks for reading this post. When openning a PDF file attachment within an email or a link from a website, Adobe does not automatically launch to view the documents. In fact, the file conversion screen pops up instead when I select the 'open' tab from the attachment. When I click the 'save' option, the save file type only includes HTLM and ALL Files..... this is odd why PDF is not a save type option. Anyway, any assistance to alievate this problem will be helpful. This is very frustration.... I was also wondering if this could be my Norton 360 that is causing these problems....

Bill was suggesting an alternative approach, making this the default setting in distiller. This is a preference settings in Distiller. I don't have Acrobat 9 on my Windows machine, but this is what is looks like on the Mac:
You want to check the View PDF when using Distiller Check box.

How to Determine if the Firware Update has Already been Installed
CD Receivers:
• With the unit turned off (press and hold the source button until the CD Receiver turns off), press and hold the center of the volume knob to bring up the Settings menu → rotate the volume knob until "BT Version Info" is displayed and then press the center of the volume knob → The firmware version should show HW05-SW01.27.20.
DVD Receivers:
• With the unit turned off (press the home button and select ‘OFF’ from the source icons), press the home button → Press the “System” icon at the bottom of the screen → Select the “Bluetooth Version Info” option → The firmware version should show HW05-SW01.27.20.
If the Bluetooth firmware version shows HW05-SW01.27.20, no further action is necessary.

Hotmail, only in Firefox, does not function, chrome, yes, IE, yes, but not firefox--WHY?

I have uninstalled all versions of Firefox, no matter-Hotmail loads, but when trying to open any email or part of hotmail, does not function. I have now added Chrome and IE and they have no probs with Hotmail!
So, WTF?????

It has been suggested that the Foxit Reader plug-in can cause problems with Hotmail. Try disabling it, reloading the page and see if it helps.

Applet does not function the same.

When I run my applet in IBM Visual Age it works fine. When I run it in my browser it does not function the same. It has to save a file on to my hardrive but it doesn't work. Can someone help.

I'm not clear on exactly what it is you're asking, but if you're referring to changing opacity, you can change the opacity setting for the States of a menu item via the States panel and Control Strip.
