Keyword - Delete

I added "Test" as a keyword when I first started working with Lightroom.  Now, I can't get rid of it.
When I import files from my C: drive, "Test" is automatically applied as a keyword.  I can delete it from the imported files, but it's a pain to do every time.
When I hover over the keyword "Test", and click "Delete", the keyword is deleted...but it comes back every time I bring in more old files.

If the keyword is being applied during import then you have it set as an option in the import dialog box. On the left side, second last option you will see a box. Be sure that the keyword is not entered there.
If it is not there then it may also be in one of your metadata templates. Open the template, from the import dialog box for example, and select edit presets. Select any of the presets in turn and you will find the keywords section again at the bottom of the list.

  • Keywords Deleted From Keyword HUD Randomly Reappear

I hope I'm just doing something wrong, and if so, that someone can point me in the right direction because this is driving me nuts.
I am trimming down the keywords available in the Keyword HUD so that only the ones that I use are listed.  I am deleting them from the "Stock categories" section and adding a few new ones that I need.  The problem is that some of the keywords that I remove mysteriously reappear in the list again.  Why is this happening, and how do I fix it?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello, Kirby.
Yes, this is in fact what I'd discovered to be the issue ... every time I opened the Keyword control bar, it would repoplulate the HUD with previously deleted keywords.  I had been under the impression that the HUD was the do-all end-all location for managing keywords.
I have since done exactly what you've suggested and simply nuked the existing button sets and created my own, and then cleaned out the existing, unneeded keywords and have started creating my own to assign to the button sets.
I do get some odd behavior still; Sometimes when I open the keyword command bar, the three buttons sets that I have (Shoe Box I, Shoe Box II, and Shoe Box Comics) do not show up, but instead there are three non-existent sets named after long-deleted sets and they contain no keywords.  To fix it, I have to go into the editing mode for button sets, and then exit back out.  Small things.
Thanks again for the prompt and accurate resolution to the problem!

  • Enterprise keywords deleted when Excel document added in WebApp

    In a document library
(within SharePoint Online), we have added the
    enterprise keywords column. In an
Excel document, we have the following problem.
If we edit an Excel document (that’s already
placed in the document library) using the
WebApp will SharePoint delete the existing enterprise
keywords that where given earlier when the document placed in de library.
He deleted the keywords only when it’s added in the WebApp. When we open the

  • CS4 Bridge Keywords - Delete when Bridge is close.

    Greetings
I have gone through and applied keywords to hundreds of images, along with a respective Hierarchy KeyWords as well. As long as Bridge remains open and my computer is on I have access to sort, and find files based on Keywords.
"Close Bridge" : and all Keywords are missing from Keyword pane, excluding the few that are present with Bridge as examples that are always there.
I can, re-select all the images, and the keywords will load again into the Keyword pane, but that takes about hour to manage.
It is like some preference file is not being read, or the Keywords are not saved to the Keywords pane. I have loaded again this App from Photoshop CS4.
One person suggested I go into Preferences and un-click "Read Hierarchy keywords" then open all my image folders and again click on the images to reload the keywords into the Keyword pane again. Then go back to preferences and re-click Read Hierarchy Keywords again, and that everything should be in order. I have done this twice, once with starting Bridge again before re-clicking RHK button again.
Still after two years of having Bridge CS4, I can not used this function to search for images.
And yes, I do select a folder or mounting disk for Bridge to look at for finding the Keywords.
After all this time, has anyone solve the riddle of trying to make this work. I can not update my MAC. I have a PowerPC, Quick Silver, 2002 G4, dual 1000. So 10.4.11 is the last operating system I believe I can use.
    Thanks for you help.
    Have a good day.

    Hello Curt
    Thank you for your reply.
This Keyword system was working earlier, that is I could shut off the computer and come back to open Bridge and the keywords were there.
As you suggested the keyword did come up in Italics as I began working with them a few days ago, because someone had responded to an old Thread of mine from this site from almost a year ago. Initially there were coming up as persistent in normal font face.
I followed your suggestion with a smaller batch of Keywords, then shut down the computer and, and they were present when the program came back up.
    So Thanks, that works.
This will get me back on the right track again with Keywords.
I have no idea what iniciated a change of from persistent keywords to loosing them all in the past. But at least cognitively, I now have a clear process for getting them to show up again on start.
    Thanks again for your reply.

  • LR Windows XP--How delete keyword tags

I inadvertently imported a lot of photos with the wrong keyword tags. What's the best way--or any way--to remove them? Thanks.

Simply delete the keywords from the Keyword Tags panel on the left side of the display. Keywords deleted from the panel will be removed from all the images tagged with those keywords.

  • Deleting keywords in filter HUD

I have many keywords in my aperture filter HUD that I want to delete -- like typos and keywords I no longer use. I know how to delete them from the keyword HUD, but I can't figure out how to delete them from the filter HUD that pops up when I try to create a smart album. Can anyone tell me how to delete keywords from the filter HUD? Also I have duplicate keywords from importing from iphoto, so the filter HUD will list as separate keywords: soccer (iPhoto) and soccer. I would like to have just one keyword for soccer.
    Thanks for the help.

    fcandy wrote:
Thanks, but my Mac doesn't have a backspace key and delete doesn't work. Is there something else I should be pressing?
William was referring to the Keyword HUD (and on my MBP, "{fn}+{delete}" equals backspace). There is a "Delete Keyword" button in the tool-strip located in the bottom border of the Keyword HUD.
Kirby, I understand that your suggestion will help me get the right keywords in the right places, but how can I delete keywords in the filter hub?
This is not how Aperture works. Use the Keywords HUD to manage Keywords. The Filter HUD dynamically shows Keywords. You cannot add, delete, move, or in any way administer Keywords from the Filter HUD.
Even if there are no photos to which that keyword is assigned it still appears in the filter HUD -- I have used smart albums to find all photos assigned to a keyword and deleted the keyword from each one so there are no photos that have that keyword, but it still appears in the filter HUD.
    1. Make sure you aren't filtering your view in any other way. Be sure to flush your entire trashway (rejected, Aperture Trash, system Trash).
    2. Sometimes Aperture takes several moments to catch up on changes. You can force a re-filter by selecting another Keyword, then re-selecting the one you want. I don't know if this forces a refresh of the Keywords in the Filter HUD. You might have to make another selection in the Library tab of the Inspector, then return to your previous selection and re-pop-up the Filter HUD.
    3. If you want to remove all instances of a Keyword, delete it from the Keyword HUD. There is no reason to hunt it down and remove it from every Version to which it is applied.
    4. Regularly, and especially if you migrated photos from iPhoto, you will end up with two Keywords with the same name (they are located at different levels of the Keyword hierarchy. Use the Keyword HUD to merge them (by dragging and dropping). "Dog", "Animals>Dog", and "Animals>Domesticated>Four-legged>Household>Dog" are each distinct Keywords to Aperture.

    TABLE_KEY1  = LT_TABLE_KEY1
Could we use the For All entries with "Select" ?
For information, the error message is "Unable to interpret "FOR". Possible causes: Incorrect spelling or comma error.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Check the below syntax, if you want to delete from database
    DELETE FROM sflight
    WHERE  carrid = p_carrid AND
           fldate = sy-datum AND
           seatsocc = 0.
Just a suggestion. May be from next time you can use F1 help for syntax:
    1. Place the cursor on the delete keword in your program and press F1 - You willl get all the possible syntax for delete statement
    2. Else open the transaction ABAPDOCU, Click Keyword Help, Enter the required keyword(delete in this case) and press cont.. You will get the syntax.
    Hope thsi will help you.

  • Merge update source table and delete from target table problem

    Hello Friends,
I am a newbie in SQL Server world and I am in a situation where I need to delete the bunch of records from the TARGET table using the values from the SOURCE table.
The TARGET table has close to 400 Million records, so I need to delete the records in small batches of about ~10,000 rows.
I figured out a way to delete in batches by refering the following 2 posts
    http://sqlperformance.com/2013/03/io-subsystem/chunk-deletes
    http://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/1750/methods-of-speeding-up-a-huge-delete-from-table-with-no-clauses
I think my best option to delete and update in 1 pass would be through using Merge statement, so for that I constructed following SQL.
    MERGE dbo.table1 AS TARGET
    USING
    SELECT File_name FROM dbo.table2
    WHERE  FILE_DESC = 'EDI'
AND [Processed_date] < DATEADD (WEEK, -10, Getdate ()) AS SOURCE
    ON (TARGET.File_name = SOURCE.File_name)
WHEN MATCHED THEN DELETE (FROM THE TARGET)
    WHEN MATCHED
THEN UPDATE SET SOURCE.PROCESS_delete_date = GETDATE()
But, when executed, it throws following error and I am struggling to figure out what is wrong with the above syntax.
    Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 3
Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'SELECT'.
    Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 5
Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'AS'.
Can any expert please help a newbie as I learn the new way.
    Thanks a lot.

Visakh, we can have more than 1 matched clause in merge as per the Microsoft sql statement, but we need to add a condition along with the match. thanks for your prompt response on this query. your query is logically fine but when executed, it throws
following error. Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 2 Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'DELETE'. Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 8 Incorrect syntax near ')'. remember, my server machine is 2005 version & my work machine is 2012. dont know why your query
    is not working.
MERGE is available only from 2008 onwards
Yes you're correct but again not more than two  MATCHED clauses even if you specify condition
    see MSDN documentation below
    WHEN MATCHED THEN <merge_matched>
Specifies that all rows of target_table that match the rows returned by <table_source> ON <merge_search_condition>, and satisfy any additional search condition, are either updated or deleted according to the <merge_matched> clause.
The MERGE statement can have at most two WHEN MATCHED clauses. If two clauses are specified, then the first clause must be accompanied by an AND <search_condition> clause
    from
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb510625.aspx
Also I guess Composable DML which used is also not present in 2005
So in your case you can try this instead
    DECLARE @DELETED_FILES table
    File_Name varchar(100)
    DELETE t
    OUTPUT DELETED.File_Name INTO @DELETED_FILES
    FROM dbo.table1 t
    INNER JOIN dbo.table2 s
    ON t.File_name = s.File_name
    WHERE s.FILE_DESC = 'EDI'
    AND s.[Processed_date] < DATEADD (WEEK, -10, Getdate ())
    UPDATE r
    SET r.Process_Delete_Date = GETDATE()
    FROM dbo.table2 r
    INNER JOIN @DELETED_FILES AS p
    ON p.File_Name = r.File_Name

  • Batch-Change Aperture Keywords

Does anyone known of a script that can convert the iPhoto keywords to normal Aperture keywords?
There seems to also be an issue if I re-classify a keyword in the Keyword HUD, there ends up being 2 versions of the keyword in the search HUD because some images are tagged with Family>Dad and some are tagged with Family>Parents>Dad.
I want to be able to update all the photos that have Family>Dad and change them all to Family>Parents>Dad.

Thanks. That script helped and it gave me an idea for another way of doing it.
    1. Add the offending iPhoto keyword manually to the Keyword HUD (create a top-level keyword iPhoto and create the keyword under it).
    2. Create a smart album doing a search for the offending keyword (say, Pets (iPhoto)
    3. Create a keyword button set containing both the offending keyword and the new keyword (make sure you know which is ordered first because the buttons will not show the distinction)
    4. select all the images in the smart album
    5. Add the new desired keyword to all the images
    6. Shift-click the offending keyword to remove it from all the images
For reference, the apple script that does the same thing is below (adapted from the script posted in the other thread):
    <pre>
    tell application "Aperture"
-- set the target to the smart album "Test" at the top level of the library.
tell album "Test" of folder ""
-- get a list of the images in the album.
set x to every image version
-- move through the images one by one, deleting and creating the appropriate keywords
repeat with i from 1 to x's length
    tell x's item i
-- Note. if the keyword is top level, then the parents value is "".
-- Note, multiple parents should be in ascending order, for example: "Image type Photo specs" for the Action keyword
delete (every keyword whose name is "Pets" and parents is "iPhoto")
    make new keyword with properties {name:"Pets", parents:"Family Personal"}
    end tell
    end repeat
    end tell
    end tell
    </pre>

  • Keywords don't work right anymore

I just got Aperature and was adding keywords to photos by dragging them from the Keyword Tag dropdown menu to the selected photos. It was working fine, I added several for Emily then the Emily keyword deleted from the list and I don't know where that listing on the menu went to or how to get it back. The tag Emily is still attached to some 1500 photos. When I do a search by Keyword, Emily is still on the list but it doesn't find any of these photos. Other searches by other keywords works fine. Any ideas how I can reactivate the Emily keyword w/o going through 16,000 photos and finding the 1500 Emily photos to re tag them? Thanks

Do you still see the keyword "Emily", when you type it into the search field in the Keywords HUD?
You may accidentally have dragged it to a different category.

    Shivanand,
There's no need to post that much code when you could create a very short test case that demonstrates only the problem you are having.
You're using &NAME. notation on something that isn't a page or application item. You can't reference PL/SQL variables that way (or any other way) outside the PL/SQL scope. For your situation, you could create a page item named P55_DOCID and assign it a value in the PL/SQL process (:P55_DOCID := DOCID;), then reference &P55_DOCID. in HTML areas like the success message.

  • IPhoto doesn't show up in iMovie media browser

I have the fully installed iLife 06, and when I am in iMovie and go to the media browser to pick an image, nothing shows up to populate the browser. It seems as if the browser is not seeing iPhoto. I have tried this with iPhoto open and closed. No difference. I have thrown out the iLife media browser plist. Still no luck. Threw out the iPhoto plist. No luck. Repaired permissions and restarted. Stilll no luck. Coincidentally, the mark/space photo conduit for my in The Missing Sync cannot see iPhoto also. It's as if other programs have no clue that iPhoto is installed. Anybody have this happen? What's the fix?

    SGMS,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
You are right. That example describes the keyword information from the AlbumData.xml file, not the keyword list in iPhoto.
In the iPhoto keyword list, click on your first keyword to select it. Then use the down arrow key to highlight each keyword in succession. If you come across a blank space in the list that becomes selected, click on the - symbol below the list to delete it. I have seen several reports of a blank keyword causing the problem. Another easy check is to click on a keyword, then click Rename to highlight it. If you see a blank space before or after the keyword, delete the space.
If that's not it, I'll explain further. Dave E's instructions are for how to read the AlbumData.xml file to help identify if you have a faulty keyword. The xml file is just inside your iPhoto Library Folder. You have to access it through the Finder. (Be warned not to change anything you find from the Finder, though.) Right-click (control-click) on the AlbumData.xml file. Choose Open with > Other... then navigate to the Application Text Edit. When it opens, type Command F (Find) and in the Find box enter "List of keywords". The document will scroll down to show you the text where the keyword information is listed. This is where it looks like the description by Dave E. If you see 2 keywords lumped together, then you close the xml file, go back to the keyword list in iPhoto Preferences, and edit or delete the words that did not have the same format as the others.

  • Anyway to view file path?

Is there anyway to show the file path for referenced images? I know I could use "show in finder", but that's rather tedious and not possible at all when my external drive is not connected.
I have a lot of images with the same name in my archives, and if I could see where they are located it would be easier to differentiate them and delete the ones I don't need anymore.
I could do this easily when I was using iView, but I don't see anyway to do it in AP.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Did yoy try "*Manage referenced images*"?
Yes, I tried that and it does show the path, but I can't rank the images, add keywords, delete them, etc, when that window is open. So it's not much better than "show in finder", even though it does show the path when the drive is disconnected.
With iView I can see the complete path at the top of my window regardless of whether I'm in List, Thumbnail, or Media view. I can also determine the path by looking in the folder pane on the left. If the drive containing the images is not connected, it still shows all this info with a message "original media file not available". I was hoping Aperture could do something similar.
    Thanks,
    Andrew
