Keyword filter problem

So I just weeded through 2 hours of video making detailed keyword notes on all the clips I planned on using. Then I manually rejected all the clips I didn't need and deleted all rejected. Then I closed Imovie and came back to it later. Much to my dismay, ALL of the keyword labels I put on my clips are gone. Almost doubling my work. Anyone else have any problems with keyword filtering??? Or better yet, anybody know how to get them back????

I used your suggestion to show the offending photos in a smart collection and could finally see the photos to fix all the keywords that way.
Most of mine have come from duplicate keywords that I accidentally created - I have a hierarchy of keywords and some have appearedin two places. So I have been trying to delete the old unwanted ones but have not been able to see the photos when using the filter or the keyword arrow.
My solution was to rename every one of the old dud keywords with a suffix of "XXX" - this also helps me to not use those old keywords again. Then I made a smart collection that simply searches for all keywords containing "XXX". From the collection, I go through the photos and replace the old keywords with the new corrected one. Once the filter shows the count of the number of photos down to 0 as it should be, I can finally delete that old keyword!
I am keeping this new collection (called "XXX Keywords to fix") for when it happens later... This sure sounds like a bug that Adobe needs to sort out.

Keyword list problem: "No photos match the filter"

I have relatively small (1k), and completely flat (non-hierarchical) keyword list.
for a small number of keywords, I have the following problem:
If I open Library, witht the centre panel in Grid View, then select Keyword List from the RHS panel, and select one these "problem" keywords, On the rhs of the screen it shows a number, indicating the number of images to which this keyword is attached.
I then click the arrow next to the number to display the images with this keyword.
the library filter opens in the centre panel of the screen area, dropping down the Keyword filter and correctly highlighting the selected keyword; however against this, the keyword show 0 matches and the message "No photos match the filter" is displayed.
If I right-click on the keyword in the Keyword List and select delete, the message is displayed that the keyword will be deleted from n photos
Thus I don't know if there are photos with the keyword which are just not being displayed, or whether there are a number of "phantom" keywords which are not associated with any images.
It may be that I am lacking understanding of some aspect of LR functionality; or that somehow there is an indexing problem within my LR catalogue.

LR keyword filter cache not refreshed after Edit-In PS

This has driven me nuts since LR3 (running LR4.4 now). Whenever I edit-in PS CS6 (and older CS versions) the new image does not appear in the film strip. I almost always are filtering on keyword and I know the returning new image has the keyword(s) the original had. You can see the keyword count increase on returning to LR, but the edited image does not show. This forces me to close and then reopen LR which is very intrusive to my workflow. Since other user have reported the same issue since LR3, why has Adobe failed to fix what seems like a simple problem, simply refreshing the keyword filter cache? Can someone from Adobe respond? Thank you for a permanent fix (I hope).

Yip - I've mentioned this 3 times in this forum but no joy from Adobe...Its is v annoying. I have a workaround, which is still crap - I keyword all my images, then sort by keyword. I then flag the ones I want, but I work on them unflagged. So I just manually scroll along to the next flagged image. Then when you export to PS it appears back in the right place, making it easier to flag...
Please adobe fix this

Keyword filter bug?

When I run a keyword filter using a single keyword and no other selection criteria, I get a set of photos returned that include all the photos given any keyword in that session. For example I queried for keyword Italy and had results that included "arizona" and others that included Light but not Italy. I verified the catalog, exited and restarted Lightroom, rebooted my Mac, and verfied disk structure - still get erroneous data set.

I had a similar problem recently. In the end, I discovered that the filter had reset itself to filter on "All Searchable Fields" instead of "Keywords". Verify that "Keywords" is the actual selected value from the dropdown list. Also make sure that the word "Text" is highlighted in the filter bar (clicking toggles it). Hope that helps...

Focus jumps to keyword filter box when clicking a keyword

Has anyone else seen this problem? (And is there a solution!)
Long, long, keyword hierarchy. Clicking on a keyword takes the focus back up to the keyword filter box. Usually happens if I've used the filter box to narrow down the keywords that are visible. Continues even after the filter box has been cleared. Doesn't happen all the time though. It is a real pain when trying to double click a keyword to edit it as the first click or the double click causes the list to refresh showing only the top entries. The second click (of the double click) then causes whatever keyword is now under the pointer to be keyword to be edited - NOT the keyword under the pointer when I started the double click.
I've seen this happen in both LR3.0 and LR3.2RC.

Thank you for answering, John, but i do not believe that editing the keyword tag would help. To explain more clearly: I have a long list of keywords that need to be rearranged/sorted. for example i might have some specific names such as anthrenus or podisus that are currently standalone keywords and that I want to drop and drag into the hierarchy animal-insect. If the list of keywords (filtered or unfiltered) is longer than the height of the window, then when i click to select the first keyword to move, then the cursor immediately jumps to the top.
for example, if anthrenus and podisus are both near the bottom of the list and i want to drag them to the top, this means that i first click on anthrenus, (involuntary jump), scroll back down, Ctrl-click on podisus, then drag and drop both into the animal-insect hierarchy. a partial but tedious work around is to filter sufficiently to reduce the number of visible keywords to less than the height of the window. But this means that when i am going thru a list of keywords to decide where to put them, i have to keep re-filtering to reduce the size. for example, in this case, i could filter on "insect anthrenus podisus" to get all three keywords visible. but if there happened to be another insect such as oncopeltus hidden in the list that i overlooked, i have now hidden this name, so I wont see it until i clear the filter, at which point i will need to re-filter for "insect oncopeltus", and so on. this is a real time-waster.

Blocked Web Sites (Keyword Filter)

Sometime today the computers that connect by wireless started displaying a browser page that access to the requested website (for example, verizon.net) is denied because of a keyword filter. Not all websites, though. The message page appears to come from the Router as the URL begins with 192.168.1.1. This only seems to occur on the wireless connected machines, not the one connected by ethernet cable. I've check on the router and I don't see any filters or parental controls set. I hadn't changed anything lately on the router.
Any idea why this may be happening?

I ended up calling tech. support, they just reset the router to the factory defaults.
I changed the admin password, changed the SSID to what I had set previously, set up WPA2, reassigned the addresses, etc.
Problem solved.
Have no idea what caused the problem - this setup had been working fine for years.
Saved the configuration to file - if it happens again, I'll just reload.

Alv grid filter problem

Hi all,
I have a problem when filtering data in alv (I use REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY FM). The problem is that data is truncated in the matchcode of the filter.
I've seen several threads talking about this, but was not able to find the right solution for me... a lot of notes, and I think I shouldn't have to install all of them.. should I?

Keyword HUD do not coincide with Keyword filter

How many times a keyword is used is shown in keyword HUD, but sometimes it does´nt coicide with the real number of files I have tagged. When using the Keyword filter the number of files is different to the real number of tagged files.
Anybody out there who could help me ?

Bridge CS4 Keyword Search problems

Hi everyone,
I upgraded to Photoshop CS4 on the big day and have been trying to do some searches in Bridge. My keywords seemed to have transferred over from CS3 to CS4 just fine. At least, my files are showing the keywords I had tagged in CS3. The problem is that when I do a Find, no items are coming up. This happens whether I do Edit > /Find or use the new Quick Search bar. Anyone know if this is a bug? Or if there is something else I need to do?

Yes, I'm searching the current directory and I can see the keywords in the filter tab. I hadn't tried the spotlight-based search before. I just did that and that did work, even tho the Bridge-based search doesn't. So that's good. But searching on anything, even any elements of the filename, do not work for me using Find.
But at least the spotlight based search works, so that will do.

Keyword Filter Won't Show Images Edited Outside of LR

Just come across this problem on 2 different iMacs running OSX 10.6.4 and LR 3.2.
If I select a photo from the catalog (i.e. when all photos are selected and filters are off) and edit in Photoshop CS3 then the saved .tiff file is stacked with the original raw file. The .tiff file inherits the keyword of the original file and in the keyword panel to the right the number of images associated with that keyword increase with each file saved.
But here is the problem. If I filter the catalog by the keyword then the original raw file appears and says that it is 2 of 2 but the saved .tiff file does not appear. So if there are 50 images associated with a keyword of which 25 are .tiffs edited in CS3 and I click on the keyword panel only the 25 raw files are shown. The .tiff files are invisible.
This is a serious problem and appears on two different machines but running the same version of LR and same operating system. There is a (not entirely satisfactory) workaround in that if I put all the keyworded images into a collection I can then edit them in CS3 and keep the edited .tiffs in the collection. But the keyword panel is still out of wack.
Anyone come across this or suggest if I am doing something stupid or if there is a problem. I had thought that possibly my catalog had developed some defect, but on 2 different machines this is completely repeatable with brand new catalogs.

Follow-on info.
1) I imported a second batch of images which are in a different physical folder on my HD, and the KW filters work OK for those images, but not the images in the initial import.
2) I then, "removed" the photos from my first import from the catalog and re-imported them. Now the filter works OK.
Hyphothesis: Only first import into empty catalog seems to have this problem.

Table Filter Problem with Operators And ,Or

Version : Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5
I Created one view object based on query( Select Empno,Ename From Emp)
Based on View Object - I created adf table .
In Emp table data is as shown below
Empno Ename
1 Hari
2 Ramu and Hari
I made "Filterable" Property true and FilterFeature is CaseInsensitive
When i query 'Ramu a' it will retrive correctly,if i query 'Ramu and' it will show no data to display
Please suggest me how to solve
Note : What i noticed is and ,or are treating as operators

Hi,
tried the same with JDeveloper 11.1.1.6 and it works without problems. The only problem that will arise is if you search for e.g. "Mickey and" to find Mickey and Mouse. Here "and" is recognized as a reserved keyword. However, you work around this by using "Mickey an". Note that you can intercept the table query using a QueryListener to handle cases where key words are used within a string

Do you mean to say like you get a dump when you enter some value in the filter field & press on enter while there is no data in the table?
If yes then give it a try in this manner. I haven't tried it out myself but its just a guess. You would have created an event handler for the FILTER event of your table. Say suppose your action handler method is ONACTIONON_FILTER then within this method you would be saying something like:
METHOD onactionon_filter .

" Within WDDOMODIFYVIEW I obtain & save the reference of my table into TABLE_CONTROL
wd_this->table_control->apply_filter( ).
ENDMETHOD.
So instead of directly calling the apply_filter method first try to obtain the data being displayed in the table by using get_static_attributes_table method. Then check if the table is initial & call the apply_filter method only if the table is having some data.

Filter problem with operating system in french

Hello,
There is a problem with the "Operating System - Windows" filter in the french version of ZCC.
If you create a bundle and go into "Requirements" and add a filter with Operating system and you set it to "Version 6.1 - Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2" you get this error
"Vos modifications ne peuvent pas tre appliques pour les raisons suivantes :
ErreurLa version doit tre sous la forme "x" "x.x.x.x". "
"You changes cannot be applied for the following reason : formatting must be x to x.x.x.x"
The format should be "6.1 - Windows 7 /Windows Server 2008 R2 Versions".
The filter does work as intended with the english versions of ZCC. I have no problem with that but some of our admin does.
PS : I am currently unable to open an SR because our licence has not been renewed yet. So i am reporting this here.

In 11.3 the value seems to be:
windows.versions.6.1=Versions 6.1 - Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2
But should probably be set to:
windows.versions.6.1=6.1 - Versions Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2
And the correct Linux path would be: /opt/novell/zenworks/resources/properties/com/novell/zenworks/core/web/internal/resources/CoreInternal_fr.properties.
This bug would probably take them a minute or two to fix, sad to hear that it's been there since 11.

Filter problem in the report

Experts,
We have a problem with Filter on Costcenter taking very very long time . When we click on Filter button on Cost center after executing a BW report, then a new window opens and nothing happens after that with a blank white screen in the filter window. We have tried so many options to improve performance but only one thing worked out as a work around.
I have deleted enteried in the master data table using TC SE14 and then reloaded master data. Then filter on this working now with in 1 min. But we have process chains running every day loading Master data .Once these process chains finish again when we filter on Cost center on the next day, now the problem still exists , takes long time to for filter window to open up. Is there any way to delete master data entries delete automatically. Any advice appreciated .

Is that u are doing the master data full upload?
Try to do delta loads.
If it is the client specific. Create a process chain to delete the same master data contents. and schedule the process chain to run daily night or just before the master data loads happen, so that it will not affect the runtime. Else have to delete the same manually.
