Keyword Plus Symbol

Hi,
Sorry about this post as I'm sure it's been done before but I just can't find it with Forum Search.
I just added a new keyword to a group of images and now the listing for that keyword has a plus symbol to its left in the Keyword Tags panel in the Library module. I'm just wondering what the '+' is for.

The + sign indicates that this keyword is set as a Keyword Shortcut. This keyword is now eligible to be used by the Painter tool or applying the keyword with the K keyboard shortcut.

You can use the Alt/Option key to toggle between add + and subtract -

First though select the Add to Selection in the tool options bar for that to work.

Leopard folder icon with plus symbol

Does anyone know where I'd find a proper Leopard icon (that displays correctly at 16 bit) with a plus symbol, like the one you can add to the Finder toolbar?

That's a combination of a generic folder icon and a new folder badge icon, both of which reside in /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/. Combining them to do what you want is left as an exercise.

Removing "plus" symbol in Excel

Hello dear Labviewers. I need to calculate the values in excel, and can't do that with those "plus" symbols. Is there any way to remove them from Excel ?. The problem occurs because my scale can measure both positive and negative values in grams.

Curious: Is this program for the visually impared? Or for a monitor that is far - far away from the operator?

I did not see where you write the values to the Excel spreadsheet. It must be in a different VI.
But I do have comments for the one you posted. Nothing serious, just things you pick up with experience..
Also, you do realize that you need to select the Start/Stop and / or Reset before you click on Measurement 4 so that they do the proper action, right?
I think you may need to investigate producer consumer architecture.
To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try looking at some of these tutorials.

FireFox 4 - why are my app tabs large and why do I not have a new app tab - the one with the plus symbol

I just downloaded FireFox 4 and my tab bar at the top does not look like it should. The tabs are all large, I want just a small tab. I'm also missing the new tap - the one with the plus symbol.

I just installed Firefox 4 and I had the same problem. To fix this is simple. You must drag the "add tab" from the modify toolbar options. If you do not see the add tab from within the modify toolbar options container. It's probably that it's already resting on the personal toolbar (just below the home icon). If so, drag the add tab icon to the main tab toolbar and the plus (+) tab will apear.

Where is the "plus" symbol in each tab at the top

each tab had a plus sign to the right of the tab to open a new tab and mine disappeared

I had the same problem, to get it back you just need to right click on the tab bar, click customise, then drag the new tab plus sign symbol to the end of the tab bar. When you click done it will attach itself on to the end of the last tab as before.

Keywords and Symbols

I'm working on setting up my keyword structure and have seen some symbols used in front of words and do not know what the function of that symbol is. Examples would be:
[*Adjectives]
{old}
∞
So why are brackets used and how do they differ from braces?
What is the * for in side the brackets and why would I use it?
What is the § for and why would I use it?
Same question for • and ∞

Hi and thank you for your response. Yes, I should have been more clear that these are found in some lists that I have downloaded to look at for examples. And yes I am trying to construct my beginning list outside of lightroom before I begin to use it.
OK, braces question is answered. So the brackets [ ] are do not really indicate a heading, just that we don't allow that to be exported. So an example of this would be any private keywords such as [retouching required] would be a good use for brackets?
With the • symbol it would be something like:
Sholder•Kevin
or
Sholder
Kevin
Where the tab indent makes Kevin a child element of Sholder so the • symbol does the same thing?
Thanks for the hint about the + sign, as I havn't gotten into using the paint can yet, but have been reading about its use and how it will make life easier.
The other symbols might just be someones personal marking specific to their own personal use then.

I can't delete a keyword plus Lightroom now automatically displays keyword folders

Lightroom has suddenly started behaving oddly with regard to keywords and I can't seem to find reference to it anywhere, even if it is "switch" that I have accidentally turned on.
In my set up, I have, for example, the keyword "Portrait" stored under a keyword folder "Photographic styles". Normally only the word "Portrait" appears within the keyword box and that's how I want it, but recently whichever keyword I type, the containing folder pops up alongside it. Note, this isn't during an export of a file, this is actually whilst keyboarding a photograph with the Library section of LR.
Secondly, I can no longer delete a keyword by highlighting it with the keyword box in Library so, unless that word is still within the Recently Used collection of words where I can can un-highlight it, I can't remove a highlight from a photograph at all.
Have I changed a setting by mistake or is there something market going on?

It sounds like you created a top-level keyword "Portrait", so now you have two top-level keywords, "Portrait" and "Photographic styles", and you also have a child keyword "Photographic styles > Portrait". (Note that the usual terminology is to call "Photographic sytles" a parent keyword, rather than a folder, since it is also a keyword.)
When your Keyword List has more than one keyword whose leaf names are the same, then LR will include the parent name of the child keyword to remove ambiguity:
To replace the top-level keyword "Portrait" by the child keyword "Photographic styles > Portrait", follow these steps:
1. In the Keyword List panel, hover the mouse on the right edge of the line containing the top-level keyword Portrait, until you see a right arrow appear:
Click on that right arrow, and all the pics containing the top-level "Portrait" will be shown in grid view.
2. Select all those pics by doing Cmd-A (Mac) or Ctrl-A (Windows).
3. In the Keyword List panel, hover the mouse over the left edge of the line containing the child keyword "Photographic styles > Portrait". A check box will appear:
Click on the check box and a checkmark will appear, indicating the child keyword is now assigned to all the selected photos.
4. In the Keyword List, right-click the top-level keyword "Portrait" and select Delete:

Plus symbol is disable in SAP R3 MMC Console

I am unable to start SAP R/3 MMC , that is when I open SAP MMC console and click on + symbol of SAP R/3 system it is going to be disabled .So I am unable to start the SAP Management console .
I am using 4.7 IDES EE on the windows 2003 server .
Please provide me the solution ASAP.

Probably your SAP services are not running.
start->run->services.msc see if you SAP services are disabled. If they are, then start them.

[WAS-MY-MISTAKE] Pacman's regex behavior with plus symbols

I think this is best explained with examples.
There's a 'libxml++' package in official repositories. It doesn't find it if I do this:
pacman -Ss ^libxml\+\+$
Even if I use no caret and/or dollar sign. It finds 'perl-xml-libxml' if I do this:
pacman -Ss libxml\+\+$
Which is really strange. And if I do this:
pacman -Ss gtk-++
It finds all 'gtk-.*' packages.
I know there was a bug saying that devs should make pacman search regex-like and non-regex-like when it comes to pluses, but at the moment the regex way isn't working properly.
Is this a bug, or was support for regex pluses completely dropped? If yes, how would one search for exact match with string that contains pluses?

your escapes are not working properly. try:
pacman -Ss ^libxml\\+\\+$
or, more generally:
pacman -Ss '^libxml\+\+$'

I can't open a new tab either by clicking the plus symbol or through Ctrl + T

I can't get tabbed browsing to work. I try clicking on the next tab to the right or Ctrl T and nothing happens

Green Plus Symbol in Message Notification Area

I am getting advertising pushed to my Bionic from something and I don't know how it started and I want to get rid of it. I saw another thread that looked similar and they advised to review the downloaded apps in the marketplace and it must be from one of those. I can't find any that would do it. Is there any other way of tracking this down and stopping it?

Hi and thanks to everyone that helped here. I downloaded the Air Push Detector and it did find an app. which wasn't even showing in my app. list. I have removed that one and hope that does it. I have also unchecked Google AdMob Ads. These are really annoying! I read somewhere that Google is looking at replacing ringback tones with advertisements a caller hears while waiting for you to answer the phone! If you have purchased ringback tones then those would play and not the advertisements. We just can't get away from it it seems.

Keyboard: type in keywords (iPhone end iPad)

Settings > General > Keyboard > New keyword
I cann't save new keywords and my old keywords are lost in my iPad and iPhone.
ICloud is still on. Newest version of iOS.

I've never tried it, but look in your system preferences > Lanquage & Text > Text.
Looks like you can add them there by clicking on the plus symbol.
I just tested it; they work. But you may have to hit the space or return key after you type your shortcut.
(Did this on a Mac running 10.6.8, but I imagine Lion is very similar).

ITunes plus label on the album, but then disappears....

I recently went to purchase "leaves in the river" by Sea Wolf, and under the album logo it said it was an iTunes plus cd. When I click on the album and get the details of the album, it no longer says that it is an iTunes plus album, nor is there the plus symbol by all of the songs.
Even more confusing, I bought the single first to see whether I liked the music or not, and the same day I decided to buy the album. iTunes then told me I had to update all my other music to iTunes plus before I can buy this iTunes plus album. How did the single download as protected? I resolved it with iTunes, and I can now go buy the whole album, but I would like to get it as iTunes plus.
Any suggestions? I tried contacting iTunes help, but they have done nothing other than credit my account 99 cents....

Did you make this purchase on an iPad or a Mac? If purchased on iPad have you attempted to complete album from the iPad iTunes store or the Mac iTunes store?
