Keyword search function is disabled in firefox 4.0

The keyword search function is disabled, I'm using Firefox 4.0
When I type a word in the search toolbar a drop down list appears, but when I hit enter nothing happens, I can choose search engines, but the search function itself does not work.

You can modify the pref <b>keyword.URL</b> on the <b>about:config</b> page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".
* Google "I'm Feeling Lucky": http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=
* Google "Browse by Name": http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=

  • Keyword Search Functionality in CRM WEBUI

    Hi Experts,
    I am working in CRM 7.0 WEBUI. I have a requirement where i need a Keyword search functionality.In the sense, for suppose i have all names starting with A , B and C as my values for field( can be drop down values). now when i type A on that field then i should be able to see only the Names which start with A as drop down values.
    I am not sure how can i achieve this functionality in WEBUI.
    Please let me know your inputs.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Warun

    Hi,
    Its like memorizing of last user entries. You need to have the coding done in the P-getter of that input field.
    Current FRW code doesn't allow for the Smart Value Help (SVH) to be controlled on a field level for fields with complex F4 helps (i.e. fields where clicking on the F4 help icon opens an Advanced Search page).
    Please check with SAP for any corrections.

  • Keyword search function

    I am relitively new to mac and I love what mac can do. As I continue to learn my way around problems come up, most of which I find my way out of. However this one has me baffled.
    I have assign keywords to some of my photos in i photo. When I click on those keywords those photos appear on the screen. In the help menu it says I can click on one or more keywords and it will return the search for all. This does not happen for me. When I click on my second choice the screen goes blank and at the bottom it say no photos. I know that these keywords work independantly but the appear not to work together.
    Am I missing something??
    Thanks,
    Rlevasseur

    There are some undocumented ways to use keywords.
    If you Option click a keyword (it turns red) any photo with that keyword will be excluded from those displayed.
    Shift clicking two or more keyword (keyword button is blue with purple text) will show all photos with either of those keywords (the "or" function).
    Normal clicking on a keyword is the "and" function and only those images assigned with "all" keywords selected will by displayed.

  • Bookmark keyword search doesn't work on Firefox for Android

    If I create a bookmark and assign it a keyword, it does not show in the results when I type the keyword into the address bar.
    Is this a known issue? I use bookmark keywords on Desktop and it works fine.

    Its working fine for me.
    Could you Close the firefox completely from the background too.
    Restart your mobile and give a try.
    Try with Beta version also

  • Keyword Search Not Functioning Correctly

    In firefox 3, Keyword search does exactly as explained in the link below. However, when I downloaded Firefox 4, keyword search does not work as it did in Firefox 3. When I type "Mozilla foundation" (or any improper URL) in firefox 4 and hit enter, it simply does a google search. I have tried everything to fix this issue. I tried resetting the "Keyword.enabled" setting with no success. When I disable keyword search, then Domain guessing steps in and does its job.
    Heres an example:
    In firefox 3, if I type "yah" into the navigation bar, it brings me straight to http://www.yahoo.com/. This is how I would expect keyword search to work.
    In Firefox 4, If I type "yah" into the navigation bar, it brings me to a google search of yah.

    I figured out what to do, and I am only posting a reply for people with similar problem.
    1. Go to "about:config"
    2. Search for Keyword.URL
    3. Double click it, and enter the following string value: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
    4. Hit ok, restart firefox, and it works!
    Here's what happened. The guy above gave me links that told me how to modify the keyword.url setting. However, none of the links gave the value I needed to enter to make it work. So, I had an epiphany! I opened firefox 3, I copied the '''default''' value for keyword.url. Then I posted that value into firefox 4's keyword.url. It seems kind of silly that mozilla would change the default for that setting, but whatever. I then tried to figure out how I could import all of the Firefox 3 values into the firefox 4 values, but I quickly gave up haha.

  • Ineffective Keyword Search (keyword.URL) changes in 23+

    Refering to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/963439, closing this thread is not sufficient for us users. Please let us vote about this change, or most people (like me) will downgrade or use addons that will disable this "security" feature.
    Please make a better solution, or chrome or another browser will do.

    The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.
    You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.
    * Keyword Search: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/keyword-search/
    Another possibility is to disable keyword search (keyword.enable = false) and use a (one letter) keyword search for searching via the location bar.<br />
    You can add a keyword to an installed search engine via Manage Search Engines (click the search engines icon on the search bar) and you can add a keyword to a bookmark in the Bookmarks Manager (Show All Bookmarks).
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_keyword_searches
    That will allow to switch easily between search engines when you search via the location bar and there also is no problem with a one word search.

  • Keyword search within Xcelsius

    Hi,
    Iu2019m working on an Xcelsius dashboard project where it requires a keyword search functionality of customer feedback data stored in a SQL database and display the matching records in a table. Also to visually show the number of keywords by different sources using a chart.
    Appreciate if anyone could give some pointers how this can be achieved through Xcelsius
    Thanks,
    Malik

    Hi Malik,
    Hope you must be looking to retrieve the data based on the Keyword entered in the Xcelsius.
    If you are using the Web intelligence to fetch the data better you use wild card concept in your filters.
    Hope it can full fill your need.
    If this is not the solution for your question, please make your question more elaborate.

  • Keyword search from Aperture to MobileMe?

    Can you have the keyword search function on your MobileMe website if you have uploaded a gallery using Aperture 2.0?

    I also want to add to what Mr Endo said...
    A) It shouldn't be possible to select a folder and then have the option of publishing to Mobile Me, Facebook or Flickr. For me those are all grayed out when I have a folder selected in the sidebar.
    B) Are you referring to a project or an album by chance? If so, then you will need to select the photos, in the Browser, before choosing to upload to an online service.
    Cheers,
    Owen

  • Search function in web galleries

    Does anyone know of a way to add Keyword search functionality to Aperture web galleries?
    I have an image library I would like to make available to a client who regularly re-use photo's from their (rather large) back-catalog. As I am already using Aperture to process and manage their images a searchable online gallery seems like the obvious solution, but I can't seem to find a way to add a Keyword Search function.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

    The Search function is a field where you can type a word and
    it will return topics in which that word is located. So when you
    state that is what is WAS and then say "NOW it seems that it's just
    a listing of every word in the Help and the number of occurrences"
    I can't quite see the difference.
    It is a listing of all the words in the help, that is pretty
    much what any search is although they do vary in their ability to
    deal with multiple words and so on.
    RH has a default Stop list and you can add to that. Click
    File | Project Settings and then click the Advanced button. You
    will see a list of excluded words that you can add to. That is the
    approach rather than hacking the list produced when you generate
    the help.

  • How to disable Google auto-complete and instant search functions

    Until the last week, I have been successfully using http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 to disable Google's insistence on forcing users' searches to use the infuriating auto-complete and Instant Search functions (the option to disable the former was removed by Google from Preferences while the latter doesn't retain the disabling in Preferences).
    However, Google now seems to have beaten my first choice workaround.
    Before I switch to one last possible workaround, I wondered if Firefox users knew of any others?
    Failures so far are: *http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 *www.google.co.uk/firefox *https://encrypted.google.com/

    You can use:
    * http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
    * https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
    Those two do not show suggestions, but also do not have autocomplete=off in case you are remembering form data
    *Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember search and form history"

  • I can't find sweetim, but everytime I log out of Firefox and back on, it shows up as the default keyword search. How can I fix this!!!!!

    I have checked my installed programs, the list of add ons on internet explorer and the one on Firfox, and cannot find sweetim. However, when I try to do a keyword search in the location bar, I am only able to do it twice, until I switch to a new tab. After that, the keyword search no longer works, and gives me a message saying that I haven't typed in the URL correctly or it doesn't exist. There seems to be some connection to www.amazon.com, because everytime I open a new tab and try to do a keyword search in the location bar, amazon.com moves to the top of the small search window, and google moves down. I cannot search in the small window when amazon.com is up, because it won't let me overwrite.
    When I check the about:config, and reset to the defaults after 2 keyword test searches, it sets back to the sweetim.toolbar as the default again. I was just resetting Firefox, but I think I've done that 8 or 9 times now, and I still have the problem.
    What should I do next to fix this?

    HI Noah:
    Thanks for your answer. I'm working my way through the blog, and trying to take all of the steps. Hitman Pro did find 5 trojans, and many remnants of other malware, so hopefully that will help. I'll post again when I've finished trying everything else.
    I had already run Malware Bytes, It did not find/remove the sweetim toolbar, but found a different trojan. Something is up with my antivirus I think.

  • Disable character-sensitive search function in iTunes?

    Hi all!
    Since one or two iTunes updates the search function is character-sensitve. What at first sign seems to be useful turned out to be rather tedious for me, because I work a lot with spanish tracks. And usually they are not properly tagged, so by searching: "Añorándote" (wich is the correct ID-tag) I wont find anything if all tracks are tagged as "Añorandote" or even "Anorandote".
    Is there any way to disable the character-sensitive search function in a way that searching "Anodorante" (which is way faster written than Añorándote) gives me all differently tagged tracks? I used this function a lot for tagging falsely written tracks, but now this doesn't work out anymore...

    Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
    The behaviour you & I both recall is absent in recent (Windows only?) builds and, as far as I can tell, there is no way for us as users to reinstate it. Hopefully it will be repaired in the next build, but it might be worth adding your voice for the return of the diacritical-insensitive search function at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • After the most recent firefox update I lost the search function in hotmail

    After the most recent upgrade for Firefox the search function in my Hotmail account no longer works. When I try to search through my email for a specific item, I get a message, "It looks like there's a problem with Windows Live Hotmail right now. It should be fixed soon, so please try again in a few minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience."
    Also, when I load up my Hotmail account it pretty much seems to take over my browser. If I follow a link from an email to another website, I will often be pulled back to Hotmail...with or without a "hang" and I will get the "Warning: Unresponsive Script" message. It appears to be related to the ad bar that runs on the right side of the Hotmail page. It gets worse if I have more than two tabs open.
    I have a similar experience with Facebook. It will often pull me back if I go to another tab. The "Warning: Unresponsive Script" message will come up. often after a considerable "hang" delay. This also can happen if I am participating in a thread. Often, when I am typing it will hang, sometimes for several minutes before my cursor resumes functionality. It can take a very long time to complete even one paragraph.

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Clipboard_not_working
    Try to use the keyboard if the buttons on the web page aren't working.
    * Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert
    * Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert
    * Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete

  • I use bing as my homepage and primary search engine. Why is Firefox periodically showing plugin is disabled on Bing? How do I get it to stop doing this?

    As stated above, Firefox disables some plugin the bing homepage uses. I don't want this plugin disabled. Firefox doesn't tell me what plugin it is. I don't want Firefox, mozilla, or anyone else deciding for me what plugins should and should not be disabled. This is my computer, not yours. How do I stop Firefox from acting like it knows better than me what plugins to disable and when?

    In order to change the default search engine or the order of search engines in the top right search box in Firefox, please perform the following steps:
    #Move the mouse cursor inside the search box at the top right of the Firefox window and click the down arrow next to the provider's logo.
    #If you would like to select another search engine, simply pick the engine from the dropdown list.
    In order to change the order of the search engines, do this:
    #From the dropdown list, select ''Manage Search Engines...''.
    #In the upcoming window, you have all your search engines listed. To change the order, simply click one search engine and then select ''Move up'' or ''Move down'' from the buttons on the right side in order to change the order of the search engines.
