Keyword suggestions not working

Have upgraded v2 from 1.41 so far without any major problems. However, the keyword suggestions from recent values (autofill) doesn't work with newly applied or old keywords. The box in Catalog Settings is ticked. Should I click on Clear All Suggestion Lists and start again or will that make matters worse in some way? Any help gratefully received.

LR2 has two boxes for entering keywords: the old big multi-line one, and a smaller one below it. Keyword suggesting, as well as the Ctrl+K shortcut, moved to the new smaller box.
They could have left keyword suggesting in the old big box too (I still prefer it - probably got used), but for some reason they didn't.

You can create a search center site, and set the search center site to
allow anonymous access.

Keyword autocomplete not working in main interface (but works in import dialog)

Keyword autocompletion is not working for me in the Keywording panel of the Library. I type the first few letters o a known keyword, and nothing happens.
The feature works as normal, however, in the Keyword section of the import diagog box.
Does anyone have any idea how I might have gotten myself into this situation, and how to re-enable autocompletion in the main interface?

Autocompletion works fine when you type the keyword into the text entry field "Click here to add keywords" (see attached screenshot).
Above is changed behaviour from version 1.x and was provided so that users could choose to use autocomplete or not.

Searching .php files - previous suggestions not working

I'm having a problem getting previous suggestions to work in indexing my php files.
I do development in and out of my sites folder, but I can't get any of my php files' content to index. I've added this line to the source code importer:
<string>public.php-script</string>
and I've forced the reindex of those files with:
mdimport -r /Library/Spotlight/SourceCode.mdimporter
forced the indexing of a target folder with:
mdimport -f /dir
I've even forced the import of a specific folder with the importer:
mdimport -r /Library/Spotlight/SourceCode.mdimporter -f /dir
I simply cannot get Spotlight to look into these files. I get them by name, but not by content.

TS4644 Safari password suggestions not working despite following instructions

Several places have referenced an option for Safari to "Allow AutoFill even for website that request passwords not be saved," however, I don't see this option in the password section of my Safari Preferences. I do have a screen lock set for my Mac. Subsequently, Safari is often not suggesting passwords. Any ideas how to fix this?

Fine earlier. Very frustrating. Tried resetting it but that didn't help either.

Aperture 3.4.5 - Keyword Buttons Not Working

I am using Aperutre 3.4.5 and all of a sudden my keyword button panel is not working.
- Select multiple images - not working
- Select single image - not working
- Type in to the "Add Keyword" box - works for single and multiple images
- No keywords (stock or new) work with the buttons
- Metadata > Add keyword - not working
Aperture has really started to go downhill. My Nik FX plugins have all become really buggy and Aperture crashes probably 1 in 4 times I use it.
I am running my library off a Thunderbolt drive but symptoms have been happening since before then.

The irony, I repaired my permissions and library twice and once as prompted by Aperture before I posted. I quit Aperture and looked for my KeywordSets.plist and it was missing. I opened Aperture again and it asked repair the library again so I did and voila, buttons are now working

Z10 auto suggest not working for email addresses

My Z10 will suggest contacts from my address book. However!!-- it won't auto suggest not in contacts. On my previous BB's, I could start typing, and it would begin to suggest addresses I'd written to/received mail from before. I hope I'm not confusing so here's an example. I only recall the first letters of an old friend's email but not the rest. Or I received a mail from a company, want to contact again, and can't find the email. Why won't my device do this? I don't and never have added everything to contacts. Have latest update . Thx for any help.

That is correct. The BlackBerry Z10 will only suggest the most frequently used contacts. If the email address is not in your contacts list, it will not appear as a suggestion.

Keyword search not working properly in Mail since iCloud upgrade

Since I upgraded to iCloud from MobileMe and Lion from Snow Leopard, the new Mail (Version 5.2 (1278)) does not execute keyword searches properly. With the previous version I could start entering a keyword and all potential matches based on my criteria (email contents, from, to, subject etc.) would populate the window with all possible matches from whichever folders I specified or all folders. That is not happening now. I have entered numerous keywords in the search box for matches I know exist, but they are not being found.
Anyone also seeing this issue? I am using Mail to access an IMAP email account for my business. Again, this was not a problem before the migration to iCloud and the forced Mail version upgrade.

from the looks of it, I'm in serious trouble as this is now becomming a common issue and one that has no resolve. This really messes everything up as I need (as well as a lot of others out there) to use the search on a daily basis for me to check on past emails. I rely on that to work. This is terrible... There is really no other way to search for anything now. What was Apple thinking?...

IPad Mini - Word Suggestion not working

When I am using Pages on my iPad mini and I spell a work wrong it does not let me correct it, well it does not give me an option to correct it. When I click on the word (pages does indicate a misspelling by underlining it in red) it highlights it, but I have no options (select, copy, define, suggest..etc). Any one know what I can do to fix this problem? Thank you

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. For about 20 seconds or so. See if it'll reboot and then see if the screen works.

Touch won't connect - suggestions not working

There is a long trail of tears here so bear with me while I hit the high points.
My daughter has a 16GB Touch that is a year old (Christmas last year). It has been updated with the upgrades until a week ago.
Problem started with Touch failing to be reconized on her computer (Win XP SP3 with all updates) when she tried to connect and recharge. Returned a USB failure message in Windows. Note that this has worked fine until last week then the USB error started, nothing after that.
I followed the all the suggestions in the Forums as well as upgrade to iTune v8.0 (20). Nothing worked.
By now the Touch is completely discharged and upon connecting to a USB port shows the charging screen on the Touch for about 3-5 minutes and then changes to the Apple logo. While the charging logo is displayed, the iTune is frozen and non-responsive. When the screen changes to the Apple logo, the USB connecting sound is played on the computer.
For a while, I had the Touch being recognized as a camera problem and think I have run that to ground (selecting the "do nothing" suggestion in Scanners and Cameras and then later starting and stoping the AMDS service).
However, still not able to connect.
While the Touch was being recognized as a camera, I could discover it in Windows Explorer and download its picture via the Windows Camera Wizard.
I've tried all combinations of removing and restoring all Apples software to no better results and no recognition. I've tried the Five-Rs too. BTW, pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button does nothing and the Sleep/Wake + Home causes the Apple logo to first go off, then return but nothing further.
I've tried connecting to all four USB ports on her computer and even another computer (WinXP Media Center recognized it as a camera too BTW).)
I've left it connected for hours hoping it charged but the "empty" recharge screen still comes up on a reconnection to the USB port. After 15-20 minutes the Apple logo goes off and the Touch appears to be sleeping.
I know the battery has a limited life but this Touch is only moderately used and it typically only charged a couple of time per week over the last year (my daughter is only 11 and is a regular user but not a very heavy user one). This is well short of the anticipated 300 charge/discharge cycles expected.
I stumped. Anybody have any idea?

I suspect this may be more than one problem: (1) failure to charge and (2) failure to connect with iTunes.
Is there anything (other than bad battery) that would prevent the Touch from charging even if it isn't connecting with iTunes or registering correctly on the USB port?

Internet Keyword Search not working

I recently updated Firefox to 8.0.1, and since then I have been having problems with searching from the location bar. When I try to use firefox's 'Internet Keyword Search', it comes up with the message "File not found: Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/omni.jar!/chrome/en-GB/locale/browser-region/region.properties[insert searched item here]" etc. When I change the keyword.url settings in the about:config from chrome to google, this works until I restart firefox. When I restart, the about:config settings have all changed back to chrome. Help!

Spotlight Suggestions not working on iOS 8.1

I couldn't use (enable) Spotlight Suggestions on iOS 8.0.2, after iOS 8.1 update, I can enable this feature in Settings > Spotlight Search. But when I launch Search by scrolling down homescreen, this feature doesn't appear either. I have iPad Air wifi.
Anyone has the same problem?

same for me. just updated to iOS 8.1 on my iphone 5s. now i can enable the feature in the settings, but when i swipe down the home screen it just says "search iphone" instead of "spotlight search". the funny fun is that it once worked for just a couple of seconds. i'm from switzerland, where this feature should be available as well. region is set correctly and i have the gps on for the suggestions.

Metadata Preset Edit - changing or removing keywords does not work

I can't find this documented so I sure hope this is not a duplicate. Sorry if it is.....
Existing metadata preset contains various fields populated and checked including keywords both populated and checked. When I edit the preset by either a)removing and unchecking the keywords or b)changing the keywords and leaving it checked followed by Done followed by Save to "Save changes to the preset Preset Name? ..... the changes or removal actions are ignored such that if I immediately Edit the preset, the keywords are back the way they originally were.
Changes to any other fields in the preset are reflected properly upon subsequent edit. Only keywords seem to be "not changeable or not removable".

Genius suggestions not working

Tried to purchase Music through Itunes on Iphone 4S after 5.1 update. Went to Genuis and I could purchase and prelisten the first set of suggestions but when i hit Show More i can't prelisten or buy. It is unresponsive.

I am having this problem too on my iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1. What I've done is to keep hitting "show more" (SM) till I get all of the recomendations, then I am able to listen to and purchase the songs. Usually, I have to get ahead by at least one extra SM section before I can preview the songs in the previous section. I just tried going all the way through though, and was able to listen to all of them after I exhausted the list of recommendations. I also split up the recomendations by genre. Hope that helps.
I'm not sure if anyone is having the same problem as I am, but I am also having issues with my genius recommendations in the AppStore. No matter how many times I try and remove apps that are of no interest to me, they always stay there.
