Khmer Unicode 2.0 font conflict with Adobe suite

I just downloaded Khmer Unicode 2.0.  After I did, the Microsoft Word doc that supplied a Khmer translation read correctly.  When I tried to copy and paste the Khmer into any Adobe apps (I tried 3, so have concluded it will be true of all) the font moved the letters around, deleted vowels, and generally messed up the phrases.  It did it the same way every time I tried new things.
I even tried copying the font into the Adobe FONT folder, and that didn't make any difference.  What could be creating this problem... I need to resolve it right away since I am trying to finish a project by the end of today.
I have 3 files to send someone, but don't see an option to attach them here
I am using Windows XP and Adobe Suite CS3
I just found this:
you should already know the answer to this. btw it's not just khmer, it's any
unicode encoded text.
first the usual suspects: what db driver? 100% sure you're using the correct dsn?
then this caught my eye: SET khmerReadWriteTest ='#form.text#'
uh either use cfqueryparam (good practice besides you turned on unicode in the
dsn anyway) or unicode hinting.:
SET khmerReadWriteTest=N'#form.text#'
But I have no idea where you do any of this.... Help please!

Is there a Windows machine on the network? It might be a conflict with non-Unicode symbols fonts used by them.

  • MAC Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with Adobe Illustrator CS3

    Model Name:iMac / Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo / Memory:4 GB
When I installed Illustrator CS3 at the first time, I didn't complete it and closed it. While I installed it again, it said "Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with Adobe Illustrator CS3". I was be stopped on this step, so I deleted the Illustrator CS3 from Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers without clicking it to uninstall. And I deleted other Illustrator CS3 files. After that, I tried to reinstall Illustrator CS3 again, but it kept to say "Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with Adobe Illustrator CS3".
I cannot find any Illustrator in my MAC. What is wrong? How can I install Illustrator again? Should I format the computer and install all the applications again?

On the Adobe site probably under support do a search for Adobe CS 3 Clean Up Script.
Before running the script read the instructions al the instructions first, do not assume you understand from reading the first sentence. There are some files that are not so obvious that are necessary for activation and they are probably still around but they can only be removed by the script.
Next time you will have to read the instructions.
The only other ways around this is the do an archival reinstall of your system or if that does not work a complete reinstall of your system. Running the script is the easier and better way to do this but you must read the instructions completely first.

  • Using fonts bundled with Adobe applications

I use the Adobe CS6 Design & Premium / Middle East Version.
I have a question regarding the use of the fonts bundled with Adobe applications.
I design and sell greeting cards  and printable items you can download and print at home or at a print house.
Before I send the file  to a client I convert the type to a shape (Photoshop) or create outlines (Illustrator/Indesign) and sometimes I send a pdf file.
Am I allowed to use these fonts for these purposes??
Is it ok to use these fonts that way?
    One more question,
How can I find out if a font is bundled with Adobe or installed with my OS? is there a list of adobe fonts that are installed with CS6?
Hope to hear from you soon
    Thank you!!

it is an allowed use. But if you are sending them a pdf, you need to convert the fonts to outline nor rasterize it. Adobe allows embedding of their fonts in pdf files. However, not all font houses allow this. If you have a font that doesn’t allow embedding, the Adobe app will not embed the font.

  • Why are there free fonts included with Adobe Reader?

I noticed that there is a folder with free Adobe fonts included with Adobe Reader. The fonts are Courier Std, Minion Pro and Myriad Pro.
Why are these fonts included? Will these fonts be included with future versions of Adobe Reader?

The fonts are only for use with Adobe Reader. You should not attempt to use them for any other purpose. They are included with software that is free of charge, but still subject to license and may not be copied to other systems...
All versions of Adobe Reader have included some fonts, but they change.
They are mainly there to help Adobe Reader show PDF files that do not embed fonts, to generate substitutions in a wide range of sizes and shapes.

  • Something conflicting with Adobe Flash that won't allow email attachments in gmail

Something conflicting with Adobe Flash that won't allow email attachments in gmail
I have been speaking with senior techs in the google forum, and they suggested I post here.  There is something about my computer settings or security software is  conflicting with Adobe Flash.
I did a clean install of both Flash 10 and Firefox 3.5.7 (I uninstalled the previous versions).
The problem is with gmail.  I get the error message when  attaching files:
"Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or  firewall."
    Any ideas???
    Using Firefox 3.5.7
    Using MAC  OS 10.4.11
    Using Flash 10
I do not have security software, proxy or firewall settings.
I started a question in these forums:
    http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?fid=791ff1130e2fc23100047e95d237082a&hl =en
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/554629?

So if your not using a Flash app, not running a flash program, and you are using a browser on a remote mailserver, why would you think Flash is the issue?
Secondly if you are not using the Flash CS3/4 program somewhere in the loop, than you would be better served in the Flash Player forum, this is a Flash Developers forum. Sounds more like gmail may use some flash components to display something, but should not have an effect on file transfer unless your Flash settings deny it. You have to allow local content from being run with active x/flash.

  • Fonts bundled with Creative Suite 2 (and individual CS2 products)

The attached PDF lists all the fonts bundled with Creative Suite 2 and the individual CS2 applications.
    Enjoy!

We had somebody spend a few hours looking into this. He found that on Windows only, if Bickham Script Pro and/or Warnock Pro is deleted after install, further installs won't get them back. It seems only a complete uninstall and then reinstall gets them back.
Sorry for the delay in posting this. I lost track of the thread....
    DETAILS
I did some playing around with the CS2 installer and found something interesting that might be related to some customers not finding Bickham Script Pro or Warnock Pro.
On both the Macintosh and Windows platform, using the Suite installer to install even one app from the Suite (e.g., GoLive) installed Bickham and Warnock--no surprise.
On the Macintosh, if I manually deleted those fonts files from the Application Support: Adobe: Fonts folder, then used the Creative Suite installer to install another application from the Suite (e.g., Photoshop), those fonts got reinstalled--again, pretty much as I would have expected.
On the Windows side, however, if I manually deleted those font files from the Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts folder, then installed another app (e.g., Photoshop), the fonts DID NOT get reinstalled.
Even more interesting, if I manually deleted the entire Fonts folder from Program Files\Common Files\Adobe, then used the Creative Suite installer to install an application from the Suite (e.g., I removed Photoshop, deleted the Fonts Folder, then reinstalled Photoshop) the Fonts folder got reinstalled as did the reqd folder inside of it (and the contents of the reqd folder) but Bickham Script and Warnock Pro were NOT reinstalled.
On a fresh machine, I tried using the Suite installer to install only Photoshop from the Suite, just to make sure it actually installs Bickham and Warnock, and it does. I then removed Bickham and Warnock and installed GoLive with the Suite installer--still no Bickham or Warnock. Then I installed Acrobat with the Suite installer--still no Bickham or Warnock.
If I use Add/Remove to completely remove ALL Creative Suite applications and support files and preferences, then reinstall an app, I DO get Warnock and Bickham.
His theory: On the Windows platform, if customers are removing those fonts, or for whatever reason they don't get installed in the first place (though I couldn't reproduce a problem here), they may not get the fonts unless they do a full removal of the entire Creative Suite package (all applications) before reinstalling.

  • Adobe Reader conflicts with Adobe Acrobat?

It looks like there are some conflicts between Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat:
I just downloaded Adobe Reader 9 without problems but when running the downloaded file(.exe) the seup is interrupted before Adobe Reader 9 could be completelly installed. A message shows up saying: "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\Adobe Reader 6.0.msi".
In fact, I had Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0 installed some timew ago, but it was properly uninstalled as I did everything possible to completelly uninstall it, inclusive runing Registry Clean.
The same problem arises if I try do install a previous version of Adobe Reader (e.g. 8.0).
Can anyone please help to solve this probem?
    Thank you.

This is not a solution, it is a work-around for bad programming practices.
I recently had a problem with links from one document to another for literature on our website. The problem was with both Acrobat and Reader where if I did not check the Internet Prefference "Display PDF in browser", the pdf document would download into my "Tempoary Internet Files" folder. From there it expected to find and open the linked document. Our literature website downloads all literature from a common folder on the host.
This problem came up after upgrading (or is it downgrading?) from Windows XP to Windows 7. It was not a problem with Windows XP.
The fix for links was to check Internet Prefference "Display PDF in browser". Now the fix for error 1316 is to UNCHECK Internet Prefference "Display PDF in browser".
I want both Acrobat and Reader loaded in my system so I can TEST the form or any changes I make from Acrobat.
I am really frustrated by this, especially when I get calls from my customers who are accessing our literature online and having the same problems. What do I tell them? Contact Adobe? NOT GOOD ENOUGH. GIVE ME A REAL SOLUTION, GUYS!!!
FYI: Try using FireFox or Opera browser. You may have better results.

  • Conflict with Adobe Professional while opening Adobe Interactive form

    Hello Experts,
We have developed an Adobe Interactive form which is being lauched from the Portal. Every functionality is working good.
Some of the users have Adobe professional on their machines and when they try to launch the Adobe Form, the form gets automatically opened in the Adobe Professional. Pls note that I have set the file types for PDFu2019s to open with Adobe Reader.
However this setting is getting overwritten and the form opens up in Professional always. Some Interactive form functionality is not supported by Professional, thus those users are not able to use the form.
Has anyone had this Adobe Read-Professional conflict before? Please let me know how this can be corrected. I am have not been able to find much help until now.
    Thanks,
    Liz

    Hello Juergen,
Thanks for your reply. The Interactive form functionality works correctly with user machines not having Professional.
What is the Adobe Professional version that you are using currently? Maybe I should test with the latest version.
    Appreciate your help. Thks, Liz

  • Font conflict with Mac OS

    Hi there
I hope this is relevant to this forum…
I'm having trouble with a version of Helvetica that seems to be conflicting with the Mac system fonts. So, the client sent us a packaged document with the fonts and all but we can't get them activated and recognised in InDesign. I suspect it's to do with a Suitcase / Mac OS conflict and not an InDesign problem, but I'm not sure where to look for help.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Sorry, things are pretty chaotic so I'll need a little more time to work through and figure it out, but that link looks like it'll be well worth reading through. The problem is happening on a colleagues computer, so I'm not 100 percent sure about software versions etc., but I can see how knowing that would be helpful.
So, the saga continues on Monday…
    I appreciate your help!

  • Font Conflict with Helvetica Neue

I used Helvetica Neue font for about 10 years. With Leopard, there is a conflict with an existing system Helvetica Neue. But I need my old Helvetica Neue. To solve this, I have followed the steps in that article: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6365831 but I still have conflict problem. For example, the font used in Gmail is not the good one and characters overlap. I use Suitcase Fusion.
    What can I do?

Currently, the only way is to remove Apple's supplied versions of Helvetica. They have exactly the same internal names as the PostScript versions. Follow the instructions in section 4 of my article, Font Management in OS X, to see how to do that.
The link, or one of the links above directs you to my personal web site. While the information is free, it does ask for a contribution. As such, I am required by Apple's rules for these discussions to include the following disclaimer.

  • Font Problems with Adobe CS4 since Update on 10.6.4

Since my Update on 10.6.4 the Font List in Adobe InDesign und Illustrator don't show the all Fonts. Font Library works without any Problems. Support from Adobe Hotline was drunk. Who can help me?

Try this-get Onyx- a free utility app...then do a font cache empty. Then reboot. If that doesnt work try throwing out illustrator prefs. I find that after system upgrades that the caches are messed up especially fonts. You do know that BEFORE AND AFTER a system update Apple recommends that you boot from system disk and repair permissions-right?

  • Fonts bundled with Creative Suite 3

Is there a list of fonts that will be included with Creative Suite 3 (Design Standard and Design Premium)? I'm getting a type order together and don't want to order anything I'll be getting with CS3...

I noticed that CS3 puts the fonts in Library/Fonts on the Mac. CS2 placed he fonts in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts. What gives? Now I have duplicate fonts in two locations. Personally, I'd rather have them in Library/Fonts. But, some fonts from CS2 were not installed in Library/Fonts. I assume they are for Acrbat PDF use and Adobe must have chosen to leave them in Adobe's folder.
Should I remove the duplicates? I assume since they are the same, there's no harm in having two...still.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.5 conflict with Adober Reader 9?

I am using Acrobat Pro 9.5 on my Mac running OS X 10.6.8. I am having problems with an online learning site I need for a client. It wants me to install Adobe Reader 9. Will it create a conflict to have both programs on my computer?

    I already have 9.5.4.
I have over 500Gigs Free space on my HD
I print to B&W, and Color and just back to the Adobe Driver (to create another PDF as a test-and still crashes if I attempt more than about 200 PDFs). I have tried it with 6 Different Printers, even at Economy printing. I always keep all my drivers (like software updates) to the latest and greatest. in fact, I checked to make sure they were all when I got the 1st crash.
If I select more than about 200, the entire program crashes, it doesn't even attempt to start printing.
    Printer Spooling Not on.
    Just printing simple B & W line drawings (at 8 1/2 X 11)
Here are just a few printers I have tried...
Kyocera TASKalfa 520i KX PS and PCL
    Xerox 4110 PCL & PS
    Xerox 4112 PCL & PS

  • Conflict with Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 6

I'm having an issue with a conflict between Reader 9 and Acrobat 6.  PDF files open properly in Reader 9, but when I open URL's with PDF links it defaults to Acrobat 6.  Reader 9 is the default program on my machine to open PDF's and I have tried to edit preferences, but it still does not work.
I have uninstalled Acrobat 6, but I really like the idea of "printing" to a PDF.  If I decide to reinstall Acrobat 6 should I uninstall Reader 9 first and then reinstall it again later?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You can do what you have stated as well i.e. Uninstall Reader 9 and reinstall Acrobat 6 and then Reader 9. But do make sure that while installing Reader 9, select Reader 9 as the default PDF viewing application when you are prompted.
Or, once you have installed BOTH Acrobat 6 and Reader 9 on your system, please change the following registry key to point to AcroRd32.exe (usually present at: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe").
    HKCR\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
    Hope this resolves your problem

Thanks, I'm curious to find out what's different. I've repair disk permissions again using the one in Disk Utility instead of Cocktail with not luck As far as I can tell, all my issues seem to be occurring solely on www.adultswim.com and is sill happening with Camino, Firefox, Safari, and SWF & FLV Player. I'll keep checking other sites to see if the problem manifests itself elsewhere and I'll post any other changes I make to my system that might appear to help.
