Kicked off maps and internet

i keep getting kicked of the maps and internet every time i use them , even with a strong signel ( mi-fi or edge ) . dont understand y can anyone help ???????

Have you tried a Reset?
I experience the same the first couple of days I used the iPhone and doing a Reset resolved it along with turning the iPhone off and on once a day which I do first thing every morning.
I was using a Razr 3xx with AT&T Wireless before the iPhone and when I experienced a problem with the phone's browser I called AT&T technical support. I was in the habit of keeping my phone on 24/7 - never turning it off and doing so resolved my browser problem. The tech support person I spoke with said it was a good idea to power my phone off and on every 2-3 days or so which I've applied to the iPhone but decided to get in the habit of doing so once a day each morning.

  • My computer keeps getting kicked off wifi and says there is a connection timeout.

My computer keeps getting kicked off the wifi- it's not s problem with the wifi because all my other wireless products are working just fine. What could the problem be? It will connect for about 5 seconds and then says the there is a connection timeout.

Delete the Wi-Fi connection in the Network preference pane, then recreate it with the same settings. Any difference?

  • Power Map and internet connectivity

    Hi,
after I installed Power Map I've got an error
«Power Map encountered an error and cannot be launched. Please check your internet connectivity and try again»
but map in Power View in the same file works fine
    Please, help me

I'm seeing the same thing when going through a proxy server that require authentication. (When using a connection with no proxy / no authentication needed it works great).
My guess is that somewhere, there's a web request that is not picking up the proxy settings... ( someWebReques.Proxy = WebRequest.GetSystemWebProxy();  )
Update: Running Fiddler, I can see a couple of failed (due to proxy authentication) connection attempts from Excel to de-users-preview.sqlazurelabs.com. Not sure if these originate
from PowerMap or from something else, but the HTTP 407 returned by the proxy server is not handled by whatever is trying to connect to that host...
Update 2: I attached a debugger to Excel in an attempt to find what failed. It looks like the root issue is that the web request made by GetBingServiceInfoAsync (in Microsoft.Data.Visualization.VisualizationControls.GeospatialEndpoint)
doesn't use default proxy credentials. When I set the proxy credentials to System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials from the debugger before that web request was made (before calling DownloadBits from DownloadDataInternal in System.NetWebClient),
I was able to launch PowerMap behind a web proxy without that error. (However, map refresh didn't work properly, so I guess there are other web requests later that also need proxy credentials). Hope this helps... :)
Update 3: I created a new config file for excel (excel.exe.config) in the office application folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15) with the following content, and I'm now able to launch PowerMap from behind a
    proxy...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <configuration>
      <system.net>
        <defaultProxy useDefaultCredentials="true" />
      </system.net>
    </configuration>
Update 4: A config file for the PowerQuery/PowerMap executable is also needed; same content as above, but stored in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power Query Preview for Excel\bin and called microsoft.mashup.container.exe.config...
Update 5: If your install path for office is not "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15", then the location where you should put excel.exe.config is the same folder where excel.exe is installed.

  • Why does my iPhone 3gs keep getting kicked off of the internet?

When I start going onto the internet page the page comes on then as I amreading it it goes to black and back to the home page for the iphone.
    Why does this happen?

Mine does that too. I was wondering if it was due to the OS and that sometimes its too much for the 3GS. I've had mine almost 3 years.  Maybe someone more knowledgeable will help. :)
(i finally upgraded to the iPhone 5 so I'm looking forward to that!)

  • Kicking off download and install Updates remotely

    Hello,
I know that in Windows 2012 you can launch sconfig and then run "Download and Install Updates" which I have found to be an extremely useful tool.  Can I launch this (or a similiar) command remotely?  We have a patching system, however
I am not 100% confident in it.  In the event that it failes I would like to be able to manually run Windows Update remotely on multiple servers, possibly a list from a .csv file.
Can this be down through powershell?
    Thanks.

I haven't tried the approach of launching sconfig remotely to try and install updates, but use the Microsoft.Update.Session COM object frequently for update installations. My initial thought is that you wouldn't be able to do so remotely because the process
launched remotely would be a non-interactive process and sconfig is most likely using the microsoft.update.session COM object for the installations. Again, not tested but based on my experience with this type of thing.
The Microsoft.Update.Session COM Object (more specifically, the CreateUpdateInstaller() method) doesn't allow for installing updates remotely and this is by design.
    Reference: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa386863(v=vs.85).aspx
It requires an interactive process and has checks internally to test for this. Even with PowerShell remoting, this
will fail. I imagine that you could still download the updates remotely, but installing is a different beast all together. You will have to look at using a scheduled job or PSExec to create a remote service that can then run the code as in interactive process.
I have written a tool called
PoshPAIG that can do a lot to help install updates remotely (uses psexec) but doesn't yet support downloading and installing updates (someone posted updated code on my codeplex site that does allow for this) that may
    be useful to you.
If a UI isn't your thing, I also have
PowerShell approach available that you could use as well.

  • Macbook Pro 10.6.8 - why am I kicked off internet (wired and wifi) every 5-10 mins? All was fine before.

Macbook Pro 10.6.8, 2 Ghz intel core i7 - --- Why am I kicked off internet (wired and wifi) every five-ten minutes?
All was working fine last time I was using this same wireless and cable... about two weeks ago. Solution is the restart constantly. Or to use System Preferences and do "diagnostics" and somehow – sometimes – that reestablishes the connection.
Is there some  kind of hard reset I should do?
Thank you in advance for any advice!

  • EA4500 2 questions-- linksyssmartwifi not working fine and kick off users

I have my new EA4500 router and following 2 questions confused me.
    1. I have registered my router with linksyssmartwifi.com and after router reboot or reconnect to internet, I can access to my router using my IOS devices or android devices. But after half an hour or even 15 minutes, the router will not be accessed anymore. There's an error message saying my router is not connect to internet, but at the same time devices in local LAN can access to Internet and also I can access my NAS through EA4500 from internet. I have reset the devices several times but this issue still there. Any suggestions?
    2. Is it possible to kick off the WIFI devices using local admin web access or linksys smart wifi tool? Or need any other software to make it possible?
    Thanks

When you received that error message on your phone, are you still getting internet access connected to your router's wifi network? If so, then I think the router is fine because it is transmitting internet connection to your phone and other devices. You don't have to reset the device. I think it's the app that's having the problem. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app or close/reopen the app.
Another way to isolate the problem is to access linksys smart wifi on a wired or wireless computer. Check if it's receiving the same error message as your phone after several minutes. If linksys smart wifi on the computer is not giving you that error message, then definitely, it's an app issue.
Regarding your second question, you can choose any of the options below to prevent internet access from a specific device:
    1. Block internet access on particular device using parental control. This will block internet access but the device is still connected to the network so it still has access to shared files or NAS.
    2. Change your router wireless password. This will disconnect devices that you don't want to have access to the network, unless the user finds a way to know your new password.
    3. Enable mac filtering on your router. Mac filtering is in the wireless tab of linksys smart wifi. Select “Deny” access for the listed mac address , add the mac address of the device you don't want to give wifi access then click apply.
I tried these steps before and they worked just fine.

  • I have taken all measures to clear my iPad but still getting kicked out of the internet and sent to my home page. What next?

I have taken all recommended measures to clear my iPad Air but, I still get kicked out of the internet. Problem seems to be more frequent as time passes

I don't know what you mean by "all recommended measures."
Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If that's the case, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • I am having issues with being kicked off the internet intermittently. ATT says its not an issue with their service. Does anyone have an idea?

I am having issues with being kicked off the internet intermittently. ATT states its not an issue with their service. Any ideas?

Yes it is NOT your internet service. It is Apples OSX. It seems to be happening to older computers trying to run the newer OSX ( Mavericks and newer). I have a 2009 iMac I bought with Leopard installed, I upgraded to Snow leopard 10.6.8 and my computer was running flawlessly. I upgraded to Mountain Lion and I noticed my computer running slower... kind of annoying having to wait longer for everything (start up, browsers opening up, apps opening up, mail opening up and so on) Mavericks came out for free and I was excited to get out of this issue. Well, everything went from bad to terrible! Fast user switching had a glitch with desktop picture resetting to the wave, mail rules didn't work properly and I kept getting kicked off the internet (Absolutely NOTHING wrong with my internet). No one could figure out what was going on or how to fix it, even senior Apple tech's! After 3-4 months of searching, troubleshooting and waiting for a fix, I looked at my Mac Pro running Tiger 10.4.11 with no issues what so ever... that is when I made an executive decision. GO BACK TO SNOW LEOPARD! Since May 2014 I have been running 10.6.8 on my 2009 iMac and it has been smoking fast with NO issues what so ever, especially since I maxed out my memory for Mavericks. So to sum it up: some people might get lucky with old machines running new operating systems, but for the most part, it seems older processors can't keep up with the new sophisticated operating systems. Mavericks... Yosemite... FREE UPGRADE! But you will pay the price

  • My E3000 keeps kicking off my iphone 4's and my Logitech Revue Why?

I had an old Linksys, and sometimes my iphones would get on the wifi, then the next day it would get kicked off and I would be unable to log in, it says "Unable to Log on", then for some strange reason, the next day I can get on.  Then for several days or weeks, I could no longer get on.
So I would try and unplug, reset, etc.  Nothing.
So I bought the new one, and it was totally fine for the first several weeks, and now, again, same problems!!!
What's more weird, my ipad 2 will connect and stay connected, but not my iphone 4's or Logitech Revue.
Please help, it's driving me nuts!

Your other wireless devices are able to connect to the wireless network they can access the Internet through the router. I think your router is working fine. You had the same problem with old router so I think it might be the problem with Iphone.
Try changing some wireless settings on the router and see if that helps you.
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router. Go to Wireless tab and set the configuration view to manual. Change the wireless network name SSID for 5 GHz wireless band so that both the bands will have different SSID.
Change the wireless channel to 11 for 2.4 Ghz wireless band. Save the settings.
Click on Advanced wireless settings sub tab. Change the Beacon interval to 75, RTS and fragmentation threshold to 2304. Save the settings. Power cycle the router and try to connect to the wireless network.
What is the firmware version on your router?

  • I have an original iMac running on 10.4.11. I am kicked off the internet because it is asking for a Keychain password - I do not have a keychain password.

I have an original iMac running on 10.4.11. Suddenly I could not sign on to my browser, although I was connected to the internet - with 4 bars. I would get signed on and then get kicked off because Safari was requesting a Keychain password. I never used keychain so did not have a password.
Eventually i tried to reload the original software, but am niow unable to get the computer restarted and startup disk is in the machine. I have tried to start by holding down the "C" key, but after the apple comes on it reverts to a "Darwin message"

Try holding down the option key then power on. This brings up the startup manager. Click on your hd. Click on right arrow key.
What does the darwin mesage say?
    Run hardware test.
The orginal iMac had a 15inch crt screen.
    To eject the dvd.
power off your machine.  hold down your left mouse button.  power on your machine.  This should eject the cd.
    Eject cd
Here is a web page on twelve ways to eject the cd.
    http://www.osxfaq.com/dailytips/01-2003/01-16.ws
On a PowerPC-based Macintosh (but not an Intel-based Macintosh), you may use Open Firmware to eject a CD or DVD disc when normal methods for ejecting it have not succeeded.
Immediately after the startup sound, press and hold the key combination Command-Option-o-f. Enter commands:
    eject cd

  • IMac Internet Connection Issues (Why do I keep getting kicked off?)

    Hi All.
I have a 24" aluminum iMac that doesn't like to stay connected to the internet via ethernet or Airport. I recently moved and am using a Clear modem that I am directly connected to via ethernet and the modem is functioning fine. My Mac will access the internet perfectly and then then next morning not have a connection at all. Diagnostics fail at Network Settings.
I have renewed my DHCP lease, restarted both comp and modem...jumped through all the hoops with a Clear rep. Still nothing. Not using any routers or 3rd party devices to connect unless using the Airport.
We have free internet where we live and my Airport will detect the router, but will not connect to the internet. The airport reads full signal strength, so there should be no issue. I have not changed my firewall or privacy settings, so there should be no issue there either. I did recently upgrade my Firefox application.
With both the Airport and ethernet I seemed to just be getting "kicked off" the internet. Each time I get kicked off, reconnecting is more of a chore...Please help Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

    Hi Rick.
I have Clear internet service, which does not run via cable or telephone line. I assume it is DSL. My Mac acted the same when I was on cable though, only the connection always come back after resetting the linksys router I had at the time. It only seems to drop the connection after waking from sleep mode.
I am using a standard ethernet cable. At times, in the Network portion of System Preferences, the status of my ethernet reads "unplugged" when the ethernet cord is still connected.
I double checked the connection speed within the network utility, as you suggested, and everything looks as it should.
The wireless situation...I do not have control over the router. It is free wireless via a linksys router in our apartment complex (only 5 or 6 units). I have never been able to connect to this but the other computers in the household pick up the signal perfectly.
Thanks for your help Rick. I appreciate it very much.
    V.
