Hi, after using my CS6 MS for over a year I suddenly got a pop up: register for trial version. Huh? Got a legitimate home version from reseller, full wax, registration number got accepted without problems. Have uninstalled cs after browsing this forum (using adobe instructions), but now upon reinstalling my serial number appears to be invalid. It's like I can't get into my own house.

Well, I ended up doing what I had previously mentioned. I went through my computer and uninstalled everything to do with CS6 and even a few CS4 programs I found. Then I even had the CS5 programs even though that is what I was planning on reinstalling onto my computer. After getting rid of all traces of those programs from my computer, I reinstalled my CS5 from a disc and entered the serial # as I normally would and it worked! It didn't tell me I had an invalid serial # anymore and it didn't tell me I had to get CC. The downside is that I am back to using CS5 even though I have paid for CS6, but at least I can still use the programs I need until I figure out what I want to do for a long term fix of this issue. I bought CS6 student and teacher edition a while ago. I had all sorts of problems with the initialization. I installed one version on my macbook pro and one version on my macbook air as I work from home on one and travel with the other. About 1 month ago my illustrator, in design and photoshop ceased to open. I get an error message saying that my serial number is invalid, and already used on a maximum of two machines, that I need a new serial number. I have only ever had the program installed on two machines. I tried to install it on my old macbook pro but it was too old to take the newer version of the software so I couldn't even install it, let alone activate it. (The new macbook pro was a replacement).
I have no idea what to do. Other than uninstall and reinstall all the programs which is a complete pain.
With all the issues I had just getting the software this is the last thing I need

ERROR ar 196 VAT registration number contains invalid characters

HI GURUS!
I have a problem when i am trying to create a new vendor.
The case is that i dont have the correct registration vat number and this vendor is from the uk.
I have a number to use but it is not the correct one.
The thing that i want to do is to create this vendor with my wrong number and to avoid the validation of the specific for the country.
I tried with the t-code OY17 and i desactivate the flags for vat registration number, but it still giving me the same error ..
What should i do???

You can change the Vendor VAT No after you get it.
Till such time enter the dummy VAT No starting with Country Key...Example for Germany DE..... and for India IN.....
Restore orignal values in OY17.

Serial number suddenly invalid - CS6 Master Collection

When I opened Illustrator today, a popup showed asking me to enter a serial number. I entered the serial number I have always used, which is also listed under My Adobe > My Products, but it rejects this number: "The serial number you entered is invalid. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact Customer Support."
Customer Support chat has 40+ customers waiting… Any ideas what to do? I noticed one or two other people have the same problem—are there a lot more, so is it a bug, and/or can I individually solve my case?

Dit is slechts gedeeltelijk waar: Ik heb een medewerkerslicentie aangeschaft bij Surfspot in 2012. De licentie toen was anders dan bij de CS6 die nu via Surfspot verkrijgbaar is.
Surfspot heeft reeds aangegeven dat de informatie die de gebruikers destijds kregen fout was: de licentie was slechts permanent tot de eindduur van de overeenkomst tussen de universiteiten en Adobe, en dat is 1 juni 2014. Mijn licentie had moeten blijven werken tot 1 juni 2014. Ik heb nu van Surfspot een nieuwe licentie voor een jaar gekregen ter compensatie van de fout. (Met dank aan Zita van de klantenservice.) Niet permanent, maar gegeven de prijs die we bij Surfspot betalen zeker niet iets om hard over te klagen.
And now for the foreigners:
Surfspot sold permanent licenses for CS6 in the period July 2012 to July 2013. This was partially in error: the license should have been permanent only until the end of the contract between the universities and Adobe which is June 1, 2014. My license should have continued working until June 1, 2014. Surfspot has given me a new license which is valid for a year, to compensate for the error. It's not permanent but at the price we pay Surfspot not something to complain hard about.
So the matter has been clarified: Adobe made an error by expiring these licenses before June 1, 2014 and Surfspot made an error by not stating the licenses were not permanent but only until June 1, 2014. New licenses, bought after July 2013 are valid for only one year.
Note that my CS6 did not stop working after 12 months (which would be if the license was for a year without telling us that) but stopped working after 17 months.
The fact that Adobe made an error is of course illustrated by non-Surfspot customers also suffering from the premature expiration. (But I saw only one such complaint here so it must not be that widespread.)

Serial Number Suddenly Invalid???

I have a licensed and registered copy of CS6 Master that I installed from discs.
About a week ago, I suddenly and randomly began receiving a message that I was using a Trial version and would need to license it. In the warning pop-up dialog box I signed in using by Adobe ID and entered the valid and correct serial number, as listed in by Adobe Account under Products.
Why did it stop working?
More importantly, what can I do to make sure my licensed version stays licensed?

VAT registration number in VD02 is in error

Hello ALL,
I'm seeking your advice on the following error i encountered during a change in the customer master.
I have one customer with ES as it's country.
The current VAT registration number is ESB0062082C. However, i want to change it into ESW0062082C.
However, when i try to change it, the error "VAT registration number is invalid" appears.
When I try different VAT numbers like ESA########, ESC########, ESD########, ESF######## until ESH######## it is all accepted.
But when i use ESI######## to ESZ########, the error "VAT registration number is invalid" appears.
Can you please tell me what causes this? what should i modify in the customizing to allow ESW########?

The control digit (the final C) cannot go on C after change the root B by W. You can check the codification of VAT number in Spain in this [article of wikipedia|http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BAmero_de_identificaci%C3%B3n_fiscal] (in spanish). You have a [link|http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%B3digo_de_identificaci%C3%B3n_fiscal] with the algorithm in differents programming languages.
If you have doubts, do a debugging session in function module EU_TAX_NUMBER_CHECK, when it call the subroutine check_digit_check_e.
Finally, here, in Spain, is usual that salesman (the people that usually give this kind of information) will be inaccurate with this kind of data.

When I try to reinstall CS6 Design and Web Prem i get message that my serial number (Design and Web Prem <serial number removed>) is not valid? Why???? I have it installed now on just one computer only. It was installed also on a computer and a laptop. The laptop crashed and couldn't restart anymore. I had to through it away. After that I installed on another computer at a place where I work sometimes with photoshop. Then suddenly I got message at my computer home that the serialnumber is invalid. I installed for the time an try out version, and now I have deleted the version that I had on the computer but when i want to reinstall my legal bought version with the serial number that i mention there, I get again the message that my serial number is invalid. But now it is only installed on 1 other computer. If I check the sites, I have to contact Adobe but I don't know how. The link does not work and I cannot find any phonenumber.!!

If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine. YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.

My partner has bought an educational CS6 Master collection for Mac and installed it on my computer more than a year ago.

I have just checked the ELO (Dutch for Enduser License Agreement that came with the product when I acquired it). It says: "Onder Licentie wordt verstaan het eeuwigdurend recht om een exemplaar van het Softwareproduct te installeren, te kopiëren of anderszins te gebruiken."
Or in English: "Licensing means the perpetual right to install a copy of the Software Product, copy it or otherwise use it". So in my opinion they are not allowed to just terminate my license all of a sudden. I will contact legal tomorrow about this and take action if needed.

IIRC PS CS6 is not Cross platform. It takes a different license key code for each platform. A License key for Windows won't work on a Mac and a key for a Mac won't work on Windows. You'll need to buy another copy/License for Mac OS X.
At one time Adobe did allow you to switch platforms by paying them some money and getting a Mac license key code which I think then Deactivated the Windows license key.
IIRC the CC version does allow you to install on EITHER platform. But only one platform at a time. You can't have one copy on Windows and another on a Mac. Adobe does allow you to install on 2 computers with one license key but it must be on the same platform (Operating System) and both computers and or install of PS CC can't be used at the same time.

Check that the serial you are using is the correct one..
Typically the problem is either you are misreading the serial and therefore typing it in wrong. Check you are correctly entering zeros or O.. and so on....
or...
You bought the LP9 upgrade version.... which requires the LP8 full serial as well.
If it is the LP9 upgrade serial.. (and not the LP9 full serial) you must enter your original LP8 full serial first and then the upgrade serial for LP9.. when it asks for it.
Failing that.. you can obtain a replacement serial from Apple.. using this form.....

Blew out Final Cut registration (legit); number won't work, how do I get reset

For the second time in the last year I have upgraded my MacPro (to a newer tower), I just physically transferred my internal drives to the new tower (in a not well thought out test) and seem to have blown out my app registration (legit); how do I get my registration reset. 2nd copy of license installed on my second system, an iMac (and it's working). You'd think I'd learn, I messed up registration on last system transfer/upgrade almost a year ago; and to be honest with you i can't remember 100% how i got it reset then... but believe it was through an online support chat or a phone call, but now i can't even find a number on the Apple site that seems like the proper one.

The serial number of a Pro App is mated to the logic board of your computer on install, not the drives - so when you move the drives, FCP sees that it is not on the same machine and asks to be re-blessed.
If you have your serial numbers, you should be able to re-enter them. If you are missing your serial numbers, here is a Knowledge Base article that may help you:

CS6 - cannot activate my product after changing my PC config - I did deactivate it on my previous configuration - "serial number is invalid"

I recently changed my desktop PC configuration and unfortunately I cannot activate my CS6 Web&Design serial number on it - I receive "serial number is invalid" message when trying to activate it. I do have an active installation on my laptop, but I don't want to remove it and I should be able to have two computers activated to my serial number. I did deactivate the product on my old desktop PC, so it's no longer tied to it and one activation should be free.
Any help or should I wait for tomorrow and use the chat?

First check if the installation media that you have is correct or not, check which product and version it says on the title bar of the Serial number window.
Download the correct installer according to the language and the Operating system.
Download CS6 products
Second the language, try changing the language in the End User license agreement windows at the beginning of the installation to either English(North America) or International English.
The language option is on the top left corner of the EULA window.
