Kicking out users from itunes
How do I kick out people using my itunes , for example my wife has logged on with my ipad 2 itunes account and my 5 other kids
So now I have 6 users and 7 including myself
Only 5 are permitted , how do i disable some machines from using the itunes?
Sounds about right. Unless Disk Usage is enabled, in which case I don't think taht should be happening.
Try using the following method to avoid auto update, and see if disk usage is allowed:
Courtsey of Buegie:
While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys in Windows (CMD + Option keys on a Mac). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes. The iPod will then appear in the iTunes source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto-sync and then you can release the keys. This action may take between 3 and 25 seconds depending on your computer.

I keep getting kicked out of my itunes!
Everytime I go into iTunes I last about maybe a minute then it freezes on me and kicks me out! Microsoft just states "iTunes has stopped working. A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. (Close program) then it takes me out
of iTunes....this all started since I installed the "cloud" through Apple at one time I was able to shut off the cloud on my desktop and it stopped but since I upgraded I cannot seem to stay on itunes! Please someone assist me with this problem I want to enjoy my music from my desktop as well as download and it is not allowing me too!!!! Signed "Frustrated"

Start with the article below for iTunes crashing when using it or trying to sync. Try starting up iTunes in Safe Mode to see if does the same thing. You may need to remove iTunes and reinstall it as another troubleshooting option.

Removing a user from iTunes help?
We are using Lion, have 2 separate accounts, share the iTunes/iPhoto files under shared libraries and now I want to remove iTunes/iPhoto from my wifes files and want to use my (1) iTunes/iPhoto which is mine as the owner. This will eliminate some of the permissions issues we have had in the past and we don't need 2 copies of those on the IMac. How is this possible?
Thanks!everything is fine now.

Gracefully logging out user from the session
Hi,
I have seen this issue coming up in my current project and last project. If there is a certain window in which the server is scheduled to be bounced as part of regular maintance, what is the best way of gracefully shutting down the existing users and not letting new user come in.
My thinking is more on the lines of defining a filter. This filter once knows that it is time to bring the server down, will not let new user come in and will turn on a flag that every jsps check to see whether to display the message(that server is going to come down in a litte while) or not
Any ideas, feedback??Hi NIgel,
Thanks for your response. I've made those changes and I think it has made an improvement, but I'm still experiencing the same issue.
Something I have noticed is that each time I log back into the room, there's an extra line of
#FMSConnector# Mon Jun 14 19:42:16 GMT+0100 2010 mainNetStatusHandler: NetStream.Connect.Success
is added to the debug trace in the dev environment. So on the second time I enter, it prints the line 3 times, and on the third entry, its printed 4 times etc....
I assume this is not supposed to happen, and usually by the 5th login, one of the clients has crashed. I seems logical to me that all the NetStreams are not being closed.
Does this point to something I'm doing wrong? Is there anyway to get more description from the LCCS SDK code?
Thanks again,

Cleaning out Books from iTunes
I have quite a few Books and Audio Books in iTunes [and, consequently, on the iPad and iPhone. I know I can delete them there, but I want to basically wipe off all Books and all Audiobooks and start fresh. I do have backups of both folders just in case. Can I just delete all the Books and Audio Books and restart iTunes and then reimport them? How can I do this best ?
You should also ask this in the iPhone forum. This is the forum for the white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone

User are getting kicked out of SNP planning book
Hello Experts
I hope you can help me out here!
From time to time we are experiencing strange issue for SNP user's .. User are getting kicked out from SNP planning book
Please help us.
Thanks
RameshHi Ramesh,
As far as I know, users should not get kicked out unless someone terminates their session.
Even if they lock some data and the same data is needed by some job, it's the job that would fail showing data lock. Similarly, if some other uses tries to access the locked data, the user who is accessing later would face the issue of not being able to go to edit mode.
It's possible to write programs that could specifically do this work of kicking out users before we run batch jobs, but let me assume that this is not the case with you.
One possibility is that there is issue in livecache and so users are not able to access livecache or get kicked out from their active session (e.g. your log area gets full, then users would soon get kicked out after seeing the system hanging initially). This you would need to check at the time when users face issue. This would also mean that other processes that need livecache should also fail e.g. GATP, or SNP planning or PPDS planning related jobs would fail at the same time.
If you could share exactly what error message the users are seeing, that could be helpful in resolving the issue.
Thanks - Pawan -
Airplay from itunes to zepplin air will disconnect my computer from my wireless network
Hi there,
Relatively new subject matter, so haven't been able to find much online...
I recently purchased a Zeppelin Air - for those who don't know its an ipod speaker system with airplay built in. I'm running a Windows Vista x64 machine with the latest version of iTunes.
When I open up iTunes and go to play a song, everything works fine for about 30 seconds and then the audio stops and my computer disconnects from my network. My network icon in the system tray shows disconnected and of course a new browser window won't open my home page.
I then tried using a program called Airfoil to stream Spotify to my Zepplin speakers and it works fine. Go back to itunes to test out (streaming from itunes now, and not the Airfoil program) and it makes it past a minute, but then after a few minutes it starts getting choppy. I press stop and start another song... a whole song finishes. Next song about a minute in it disconnects my computer from my home network again.
Next I open up Airfoil and have it hijack itunes rather than using the airplay feature in itunes. I make it a few minutes into one song, decide to skip to another, no problem. No disconnects.
Back to itunes, no airfoil this time, back to using the airplay feature from itunes. 25 seconds into a song, it gets really choppy, drops audio. I press stop and try another song... really choppy can't seem to keep a solid connection. I try a few songs, one makes it through, then I go back to another and my computer loses connection to my network again.
So point being is it appears to be an iTunes issue and not a Zeppelin issue. In fact this is my second Zeppelin, I returned the first one because it was having the same problems.
The only functional difference I can see is that iTunes seems to be more responsive in the congrols for pause/play/volume where as Airfoil has a slight delay. I feel that maybe iTunes is pushing too much data out for my wireless adapater to handle?
Also streaming Pandora from an ipad works no problem...
I'm going to be trying a new adapter soon, but curious to see if anyone has any insights.
Thanks,
TravisI've narrowed down the problem to a combination of my Windows Vista 64 machine and streaming directly from iTunes.
I tested my laptop with XP and had no problems streaming from iTunes.
I then connected my Vista machine directly to the router and when streaming directly from iTunes I had all sorts of skips and pauses, but when streaming from Airplay no problem.
I attached an image of my network stats from the same song via iTunes and Airplay. The spikes in the network traffic seem to be the problem when streaming from iTunes... -

User kicked out of PS when running Query to excel
Hi,
Just to note, I am actually a developer and doesnt know a thing about configurations or any PS tech admin knowledge regarding installation and setting up Psoft. So please be patient with me since im starting this just now and only starting to gain knowledge in this are.
Just to give an overview, currently we are supporting US psoft and I am located in malaysia tranferring the servers here at our end. we are on UAT right now and having trouble with the psoft application itself and from I see it, it can be caused by how it is installed. Because the US env (server in US) is working perfectly but the M'sia env are having errors (server in M'sia). Just to remind that its the same env only installed in different location, you can call it parallel testing if you like.
Now with the problem, when the user tries to run a query in the Query manager and doing "run to excel", the user gets kicked out of PeopleSoft online and giving just the literal "Error" message. And when I look at the PSQRYSRV dump file (just learned it yesterday), can't really understand what it says. I try googling it but to no success.
Does anybody can help me with this? TIA!

Beeing kicked out from remote desktop to a Windows 2008 R2 server
My server have 2 users, the Administrator and a user "sigma".
When I use the user "sigma" with remote desktop I always get kicked out from the server after a couple of minutes. This does not happend with the user Administrator. I tried to set the RDP-Tcp Properties, but it did not help.
Greetings from the cold northsHi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Have you applied any GPO setting related to session time out?
Please check the setting under below path.
•Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
•User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
In addition, also check the setting related to “keep-alive connection interval” under GPO setting.
Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Connections
Configure keep-alive connection interval: Enabled and Specify the Value

Stop user from cliking back button after logging out
How can I stop the user from clicking the back when they had clicked the log out link...?
<%@ page language="java" %>
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
</head>
<body>
</body>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
function refreshIt() {
setTimeout('window.parent.location.reload()', 7 * 1000);
<%
session.removeAttribute("username");
session.invalidate();
response.sendRedirect( response.encodeRedirectUrl("index.jsp?message=You had logged out from the system"));
%>
document.onload = refreshIt();
</script>
</html>You can NOT stop the user from clicking the "back" button.
However, all is not lost.
Since you're invalidating the session, simply have every page that requires the user to be logged in check for a valid session before proceeding. Put that code into an "include" file. If the session is invalidated, redirect the user back to the "Please Login" page. Do this IMMEDIATELY before doing ANYTHING.
Another technique, but is essentially the same thing, is to "logout" to a page with javascript that redirects the user to the "You are Now Logged Out" page, with either a "redirect" or a "window.forward()" call. When the user clicks "back", they'll return to the page with the javascript that redirects the user to the "You are Now Logged Out" page. The only problem with that is that savvy users using IE can click the "history" portion of the "back" button, and go back 2, 3, 4, etc. pages if they want to.
Therefore, you'll still have to write the code at the beginning of every page that kicks the user back to "Please Login" if the session was invalidated. -
I am using a Dell inspiron 14z, with Windows 8, and before that a Dell with Windows XP. This is also happening on my iPad. For the last four months, none of the movies or television shows I have rented or purchased from iTunes have played properly. The audio and video are out of sync. I have tried the troubleshooting measures iTunes suggested, however nothing seems to work. I have read on the community that this has been a problem for users in the past, and have attempted to try some of the fixes individual users have suggested also. Again, nothing seems to work. At this point I am frustrated, as we purchase or rent almost exclusively from iTunes. I would appreciate a support-staff person response. Thank you so much.
this problem has been going on for windows users for over a year now.
Apple has no solution to this problem. -
I am trying to stream video from iTunes store for the last 2 days and all I get is the message "iTunes store is unavailable. Try again later." I have tried turning it off, unplugging all cords, restarting it, reseting it, restoring it, and signing in and out again. Netflix works, but iTunes seems to be bugging out. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
