Kik push notifications disabled

after I installed ios7,  most of my messaging apps asked permission to send push notifications, and out of habit I declined push notifications for kik on accident. the app says to go into settings>notifications and turn on push notifications from there, but when I go into settings on my iPhone 4, there is no notifications tab anywhere to be found. Also, I did a bit of research to figure this out before asking a question on here. Many people who had a similar  problem said that upon opening, they got a message telling them to connect to iTunes, and I never got that message but decided to try connecting to iTunes anyway, to no avail. Any suggestions on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know where your other reply went re: turning off push notifications and that this appears to be a problem for 4s users.
Anyway, thanks for the reboot suggestion, tried that as well.  I will try to turn off push notifications and then turn back on to see if that makes a difference.

  • Push Notifications Disabled (error 400)

I'm getting this error whenever I open my ESPN Streak for the Cash app. I've contacted ESPNs customer care and they are saying my error is an itunes/iphone issue.
    The problem:
I purchased a separate service within the app to send me additional push notifications. When asked to enter my itunes password to confirm i did. This was actually the second account I tried doing this from and it worked on the first. I've heard that you should have separate itunes accounts for each iphone. I dont know if that was the issue or not, but I did create another itunes account and deleted the app and redownloaded and purchased the push notification service. I still get the error 400, but at least it says my subscription is pending now whereas it didn't register before, but still no pushes. I've also noticed for some of my other apps that i dont receive push notifications anymore. Chess with friends, facebook, email. It only bothers me because i'm paying an additional subscription service for the espn app and i cant receive push notificaitons.
the actual message reads: Push notifications are disabled or failed to initialize. (error 400: contact customer care)
I am also prompted to enter my itunes password everytime i open the app. I've also received (error 100: contact customer care)before. Don't know if any of this could be useful info. But that's pretty much all i know.

  • Disabling push notifications in Mac OS 10.7.5

I just moved (reluctantly) from Mac OS 10.5.8 to Mac OS 10.7.5. I keep getting notices from Little Snitch that different connections want to be made by "Applepushserviced". Since I do not want to use push notifications, how do I disable them in 10.7.5? iOS has a setting that does this, but so far I haven't found a similar setting in Mac OS. BTW, I never received these in Mac OS 10.5.8, so why now?

Using Little Snitch, I toggled "Forever" and "Deny" on each occurance. They finally stopped.

  • How do you disable "Connect to iTunes to Enable Push Notification" Message when opeing an app? Thie message is compeleyely annoying and theres is no way to cancel it. You have to clcik on "OK" to use the app.

How do you disable the "Connect to iTunes to Enable Push Notifications" prompt when opening apps on an iPad (OS7)? The message is completely annoying and there is no way to cancel it. You must click on "OK" to use the app. I have already disabled notifications on those apps in the Notification Center.

The best way to do this is to leave all files unchanged, but render the file containing that horrendous bird noise unreadable to the system. Open a terminal window, and paste this command:
    sudo chmod 000 /System/Library/Frameworks/Social.framework/XPCServices/com.apple.twitter.xpc/C ontents/Resources/TwitterSent.caf
That's it. Your Tweets should hereinafter be silent unless you change TwitterSent.caf's permissions again.

  • Disabling Push notifications for SMS

I'm fairly new to iOS, and I'm trying to find a way to disable the push notifications presented on events -- like when you receive a text message.
It would be great if there were a way to NOT have push notifications pop up and potentially interrupt whatever I'm doing -- but still have the badge update on the Messages app icon to indicate something new and unread.
Can this be done, or do we need to wait and hope that Apple puts the webOS notifications guy they hired to good use? My last phone was a webOS one, so I got spoiled with that very slick and arguably "better" notifications system.

Apple Development:  This needs to be addressed.  Like the others, my experience on the device is being interrupted by SMS notifications.  I'm watching a movie on my iphone, but my twitter feeds (which goes to my SMS) interrupts the movie constantly with SMS notifications.  Each one pauses my movie, I have to press close, and then unpause.  Really annoying.  There should be a setting to turn-off SMS notifications and let the App Icon's badge counter take care of notifying you of new messages.   Seriously.  This is an annoying issue that should override any perceived benefit of compelling users to "close" SMS message notifications.  Seems like a simple fix, too.  Please help us development.

  • HT201299 Is it possible to set push notifications to work only in wifi, rather than disabling them altogether?

I would like to use push notifications, but in a way that limits data usage if possible. Does anyone know if it's possible to set them to push when you're in wifi but then not to come when it would require data? Right now it looks like I would have to manually disable push notifications when I'm not in wifi and then turn them back on when I'm back in wifi. Anyone know a way to make them phone do that automatically?
    Thanks for any help!

The amount of data used with a push notification is miniscule.

  • Disable all push notifications iOS7

In iOS6 you can do Settings->Notifications->Off.
I want to disable ALL push notifications on my iPad.
I do not want my iPad talking to Apple push notification servers. And I don't want pop ups on my screen.
    How is this achievable?

I have had the same problem and what I have found that you can do is:
Settings->Notification centre->select app->choose none at the top and scroll down and choose to not show in notification centre
This us the only thing I have found that you can do and it seems to stop them coming through for me!
    Hope this has helped you

  • Push Notifications keep disabling?

I've noticed the last few days since I have updated to iOS7 and updated the facebook and twitter apps my push notifications for facebook and twitter seem to keep vanishing overnight. When I wake up in the morning I see I've had no notifications from either app overnight and they are gone from my notification center. I have to launch both apps when I wake up and I will get the pop up asking to authorize the app to send notifications and I click OK. Then I have to go into the notification center in the settings where they will now be back in the list where they always were and change back from banners to alerts.
I go through the day fine and will then get alerts sent to me all day for everyone and everything I have set them up to send to me then overnight the next night I get none again and in the morning I have to go through this all over again. No notifications all night and I have to launch both apps and get the message asking to authorize push notifications which I will OK again then have to go into the notification center to change back to alerts from the banners. At first I thought it was something with the Twitter app but now facebook has started doing it as well so I don't think it's an issue with just the Twitter app. Maybe it's because I'm still on the iPhone 4 (thank you contract agreements & not being able to upgrade) and something is glitching with it? I don't know. It's played well with iOS7 otherwise. I depend on the alerts to catch up on what I miss during the day so I really don't want to have to remember to go into these apps every morning to re-authorize the push notifications then go to the notification center to reset them to "alerts" so I don't still miss smething because it then defaults to the useless banners again. Anybody else seeing this issue?

It's not happening as frequently but it is still happening to me. I wouldn't care quite as much if Apple didn't decide to make "banners" the default. I have everything set for "alerts" so when they all go away I then have to go into every app and OK the push notifications again then go into the settings to change them back to "alerts" from the defaulted "banners". Come on Apple either fix this or at least give us the option to set "alerts" as our default notification setting. Not all of us like the banners!!! I hate them!!!
Also as an unrelated annoyance I've also now had to turn off my Twitter's badge app icon because it will constantly show a "1" now. I've deleed the app, info, changed passwords, unlinked the account, linked it back, all multiple times and it stil continues to show the red circled "1" badge app. Since that has happened since the last Twitter update I'm sure it's an issue there with their app and nothing on Apple's end but it's just as annoying.

  • Email Account Push Notifications

I am a new iPhone user. I have setup three email accounts in my phone, two personal and one business. I am trying to find a way to disable the audible alert for my business account, but keep the notifications active for my personal accounts. (I get so many emails from work that the thing buzzes all the time).
Is there a way to disable push notifications for one account only?

  • Push Notifications and slowness

Has anyone been experiencing general slowness on some applications with push notifications enabled? I was complaining to one app support person about how slow their application loaded but found out that if I disabled the push notifications, the app loaded in less than half the time. I couldn't complain much afterward. I thought that one of the great things about push notification was that it wasn't supposed to affect battery life or performance on the phone.

I'm glad it's working for you again.
It looks like there was some
potential issue yesterday that includes Service Bus, but I'm not sure if it also affected Notification Hubs.
It's always a good idea to go and check the
service status page when anything weird starts to happen.

  • Push Notifications and Enterprise

    Hello there,
We have been upgraded from woodwing to Adobe DPS last month.
We are slowly getting back to the way it was before and know that some features will come in future updates.
There is only 1 thing I don't get or could find any documentation for was Push notifications on a enterprise build.
We have the app build for enterprise, but the mobileprovsion requires a app ID with a asterix(*) in it.
Apple sees this as a wildcard and thus I cannot configure the Push Notifications for the provisions.
So that is not really a big deal, cause we always have 3rd party options.
Now I noticed that the viewer builder gives you the option for Apple push and adobe push, and a custom url.
But whenever I choose the option above that saying its a 'Enterprise Build' I cannot check the Push buttons.
I cannot setup any Push at all.
So does anybody know how to setup push notifications for a enterprise build app, or have any Documentation on how to set it up?
    Kind Regards,
    Patrick van Zadel

    Hi Bob,
The Publishing Companion Guide (for Viewer Builder 2.1) outlines the steps to produce the required Apple APN certificates. However, as Patrick points out, the latest viewer builder does not allow one to configure push notification support for Enterprise signed viewer apps. Essentially, once one selects Enterprise viewer, the Push Notification fields are disabled. See the screenshot below...
What is the recommended way to enable this for Enterprise builds?
    Thanks for your help,
    Matt

  • Push Notifications not working on any app (Whatsapp, Beejive, Mail) after update 5.1.1, Help!

I'm gonna try to be clear with my problem. I have a Gmail Account working on Microsoft Exchange, for IM messaging I'm using Beejive IM with Push and I'm also using Whatsapp.  Before Updating it to iOS 5.1.1 all Push notifications were working flawless, however, after I upgraded it to 5.1.1, I began having troubles. After 1 minute of having the Iphone locked, I don't get any push notification, nor on the email, nor on the Whatsapp, neither on the Beejive. If I unlock it and I re-open one of them, for ex, I go to check my contact list on Beejive, I get all the mails, and all the instant msgs that people had sent to me after I locked my iPhone; it's like, my iPhone was locked for 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes people sent me 4 msgs on whatsapp, 4 msgs on beejive and 4 mails. Once I unlock my iPhone and I go to one of the 3 apps (mail, whatsapp or beejive), I get the 12 items (4 msg from whatsapp, 4 msgs from beejive and 4 mails) at that exactly time. It's crazy, it's like, with this new update push notifications got disabled for every app or what happened to my iPhone on this upgrade? I really need help. WIthout Push, none of them apps works cool for me. I'm using Iphone 4 on a 3G network.
Ps: I tried restoring it x3, I unistalled the apps, mail, etc and nothing worked.
PS2: If someone is using whatsapp or beejive im with push on the new iOS 5.1.1 and push notifications are working good for them, please let me know it so I will know it's my iPhone hardware problem to bring it to technical service
    Thanks in advance

    SAME PROBLEM
The Apple store are trying to say they know nothing of this problem,  they know that if  you delete your yahoo mail and then add the account again then push notification works for a day.  So they do that for you, but won't listen when you tell them that it won't be working by the next day! This is to get you out of the shop.  They don't have an answer to why your other notifications aren't working (like alerts etc) even though you have push on.
So what are we to do?  The main point for me getting an iPhone was being able to be alerted when I received an email as I am out and about all day!
How can we get somebody in Apple to admit this problem and find a resolve for it before we all have to go buy a phone that will notify you of your email, messages ans alert?

  • Lack of Push Notifications since OTA

Ever since I took the OTA Firmware update last week, I have had issues with a lack of push notifications on my Incredible 2.  Gmail, work email, Facebook, InstaGram, Twitter and more all require a manual "refresh" for me to get my emails and more.
I also have this battery charging issue that appears to be widespread on the boards here, but that is another matter.
Anyone else experiencing this push notification issue since the OTA?

FWIW - The Background Data option under "Accounts & Sync" in Settings was disabled by the OTA.  Not only was my Exchange disabled, but I had to re-enter my Gmail address.  Once enabled and re-entered, I seem to have re-enabled my push notifications.
Now about this battery charging issue....
