Killing me Larry-PAGES

I just bought iwork 06 and keynote and pages will not open?!? Can someone tell me why? I have loaded the Apple updates for both programs---but still nothing.

I have just installed the program. It has never worked. When I launch Pages the menu bar comes up but the application does not appear. On Keynote, after launch it just says...unexpectedly quit. It is not this particular disc, this is the 2nd time I've tried. I returned the first software and exchanged it for this. SO frustrating.

AutoSubmit kills validation on page

Hi....
I have a jspx page which has required inputtexts and buttons...
one of these inputtext has autosubmit=true attribute...and a outputtext after this inputtext which has partialtrigger=this inputtext.....
The problem is....While required inputtext's value is empty and in red color because of the validator, if the value of autosubmitted button changes and autosubmit invokes,
then, the error on the required inputtext disables, because of no validation...
This problem also occurs in Adf Rich Client Demo too..
What is the solution of this problem?

Killing sound on page exit

I have a .swf that plays audio clips on top of the animation
in a web page and everything works fine as far as the swf is
concerned. However, if the user clicks the navigation buttons ON
THE WEB BROWSER the sound continues to play to completion.
How do I stop sounds when the user leaves the page?

look at the Sound classes events.
Better yet, look at the events for MovieClip.
I'm thinking you can define an onUnload event for _root.
In that method you could manually stop your SOund class.
Basically you need a way to know when the SWF is being
"unloaded," or left by the user.

Restart looses all CFM pages

I'm at a losss here. We upgraded from 6.1 to 7.02 via the
download install and applying CD key (Window 2003 SP2). Everytime
we upgrade part one goes ok and then we musty run the Administrator
program, if it does complete (50%) of time nad we get to the end of
migration, then CFM pages will work until we need to make a change
and restart the service, once that happens all CFM pages fail to
load (page not found) and we get NULL 500 on the Administrator
page. The only way to recover is a uninstall and reinstall. We've
even taken to rebooting a couple times, still once we make a change
(a legit change as it runs fine in our test server) and restart the
service, it's pooched. I'm pretty sure even if we reboot the server
we'll loose it. I tried applying hotfix one and hotfix two for
7.02, they broke everything right off the bat, so we've given up on
those.
Not even a restart of the App service can bring back the CFM
pages, there is something horribly wrong in there when a reboot
kills your CFM pages and no errors that I know whjere to look to
see why it is happening.

Session in JSP

Hi all,
I used session in my JSP pages. Now when user click Logoff link the page goes to a JSP page and there i invoked
session.invalidate();to end the session.
On that page there is a link to login again.
If the user use that and then login with a different ID and store some info in database it still shows previous users ID meaning that session is still getting old value although i invalidated it.
Can anyone please help me.

Thanks for reply. I tried your code but still it doesn't work.
Now let me explain the situation, When i turned the machine this morning and started tomcat and run my application with a different ID, and i did some updates in database and it still shows the ID that i used when i created the session couple of weeks back.
Now i think this is a serious matter because it remembrs that ID only.
Now let me clear the concept again. my jsp pages are not linked by data transfer but they have links of all pages on the menu in every page so when they login and in the second page i stored the login name in session after that i used it in a page which has no connection with any other pages. Now what i did is i made the page available for session and then i used the login name.
Now is that mean that the login name is stored in that pageforever and since it doesn't send anything to logoff page and when we kill the session inlogoff page it is only killed in logoff page. That's my assumption. Can you please confirm me.

Closing web browser

Anyone have an idea as to how to close an open page in safari? User's manual on page 55 says you can't close it, without explaining it why. You can close any additional open pages by touching the red x, but a red x doesn't appear on the first web page. Makes no sense to me -- if I can close a web browser on mac or pc, why not on iphone? If the web page is one that could be embarrassing for others to see, make sure you open it second.
Also, i learned after a lot of screwing around that the "favorites" list in the phone menu has a limit of 20 entries -- once you hit 20, you will no longer see the "add to favorites" button when you open a contact. They should have told you in the user's manual.

that doesn't work for me. I thought my iphone has froze up and did a force quit by holding home button down, which killed the web page. But if I simply hit home and then go back to safari, my open web page is still there. Plus, the owner's manual says (page 55) you can't close the first open page.
If I do a shut down, and power back up, then go to safari, the web page is gone but will immediately reload.

IWeb and iCloud

If I sign up for iWeb, will it immediatly kill my iWeb pages?
I know I need to find anotherweb hosting service by June, but what happens if I sighn up now? Will Apple immediatly kill the pages?

Some files not showing anymore in folders on smb-share (lc_ctype error)

I use a shared folder on my iMac for my work projects.
After the upgrade to Mavericks, I noticed that Dreamweaver CS 6 did not show all files and folders anymore in several projects.
This is on a Windows 7 machine.
The same thing happens when in FileZilla, so it's not a specific Dreamweaver issue.
When I go to a troubled folder in FileZilla I get this error (in Dutch):
"Een lokale bestandsnaam kon niet gedecodeerd worden. Zorg ervoor dat de LC_CTYPE (of LC_ALL)-omgevingsvariable juist is ingesteld. Totdat u het probleem oplost, kunnen er bestanden ontbreken in de bestandslijsten. Er zal geen waarschuwing meer getoond worden gedurende deze sessie."
Translation:
"A local file could not be decoded. Ensure that the LC_CTYPE (or LC_ALL) environment variable is set. Until you solve the problem, you are missing files in the file list. There will be no warning displayed during this session properly."
When I go to thew same folder in Windows Explorer all files are shown.
When I use Dreamweaver CS6 on the iMac no errors occur and every file just shows fine.
It seems it only occurs in random directories of the local files of website projects I maintain with Dreamweaver
If anyone ones how to fix this, I would realy REALY appreciate this.

Why is Adobe deliberately Hating Firefox?

Just Last Night 3/21/2015 Firefox upgraded Browser to 36.0.4 and today I notice Adobe Flash was working on ALL pages by some fluke.
Just this evening I had to reboot my pc and when I loaded back up ADOBE FLASH wanted to upgrade...so I did
Well Low and behold it Killed Flash on pages again.
Why is Adobe Flash deliberately hating on Firefox? DID Google Pay them to mess up Firefox because they want everyone to use their product only ??? That is what I think.

This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
(2) Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
That takes effect the next time you exit and start Firefox up again.

(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista and higher)

Photoshop Cloud Mixup

My copy of CS6 seems to think that somehow I am using the Cloud version of Photoshop. I am not interested in the Cloud version and I would like to get back to my own copy of CS6. How do I do this?

Every time I try to start CS6, from the Start Menu shortcut, or by clicking on the actual application file in the "program" folder I get this invitation to join the "Creative Cloud". I don't know what the "Creative Cloud" is, and I wouldn't join the "cloud" under any circumstances.
I can not get out of this spash page no matter what I do. I have to start the task manager to kill this thing. Of course, CS6 won't start either. I hope this is not some kind of virus or worm, but if Adobe is behind it, it really is marketing overkill.
The Photoshop application file was last modified 10/27/2013 and is 60,798KB. I have used it frequently since last October. It has only started to act up in the last 2 or 3 days.
How to I get back to some kind of normal startup routine?

Google thinks I'm running automated searches?

Ever since updating to Safari 4.0.2 every time I try and do a search from the Google search field in Safari I keep getting the following message:
"We're sorry...
... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now."
I then have to type in a word as in spam protection to be forwarded on to my search request.
Any body else get this? I have deleted all the Google cookies and cache from Safari but this still keeps happening. Any ideas?

Now to find where I can report incorrect Google GeoIP inaccuracies.

Google thinks I'm in another country but only when I use Firefox.

Google redirects me to google.ru and YouTube shows Russia as my location. I'm not in or near Russia, GeoIP databases I've checked show the correct country.
This only happens on Firefox and not on Chrome. I tried clearing all *.google.com cookies but no luck.
Should I worried that some malicious software has altered my copy of Firefox?
I don't see any plugins or addons that I don't recognize...

How to redirect a JSP page after the session is killed

You can't, directly. There's no connection betweenthe server and browser.
even after invalidating the session. we can do it
directly using the statement
response.sendRedirect("....");
or we can use the meta refresh tag.if session is invalidated and if we try to do response.sendRedirect(".. ") it throws IllegalStateException

Firefox 3.6.2 Mac OS 10.6 go to craisglist or other web pages click on email address link and 1000s of empty pages are spawned. Have to kill process to shut down firefox.

When using Firefox version 3.6.3 on Mac OS 10.6 experience the following scenario:
Example 1 go to http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites
click on any listing/classified ad
click the link to email the owner.
= 000's of blank tabs are than launched. =
Found it necessary to kill Firefox in process list to shutdown.

Every time Firefox opened
== email links on most any web page are clicked on directly.

Hello Doug.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
