Kin one phone

i have just bought the windows kin one phone but it doesnt accept my user name right from start when it asks me for the user name that i give it. what should i do. am a Ugandan 24yrs. really need help. thank you.

Kin one

I have no clue how to work the kin one phone. There is hardly any instructions. I cant find my ringtones or sounds. I am not sure how to record anything. I cant figure out how to do forwards on texts.

Kin One Activation

I saw some kin one phones on ebay for cheap and was thinking of replacing my phone and saw that verizon moved those down to feature phone status, I w as wondering if I could avtivate a kin one phone on my plan. I currently have the connect plan

Kin one not sending and receiving some of my text messages?

I've had my kin one for several months now (mine is used as a feature phone, no data package). I was having no problems up until now.
in the past week or so, I've noticed that I'm not getting some of my text messages. also, some people are not receiving some messages I send.
plus, when I send a message, normally it pops up right away in the thread, so I can read what I just sent. lately, it's not doing that anymore. if I want to read what I just sent, I have to back out to the main menu, and then go back to that contact's message thread to read it.
is anyone else having these issues? I wonder if they're going to get worse.....

Is it possible to use Backup Assistant with the Kin One?

I just got my new Kin One last night. I've never used Backup Assistant before but I wanted to start now. Unfortunately, the instructions for downloading the tool only seem to include phones with the "Get it Now" feature. I can't find anything remotely like that in my phone's settings. Am I overlooking it or does it simply not exist as an option for this phone? I have a lot of contacts to enter and I hate to think that I'd have to do it all over again if something went wrong with the thing.

Sorry, Backup Assistant doesn't work with the Kin Onem. Some customers have had luck with getting a Verizon store to transfer them, but it seems to be hit or miss, as not every store has the software it needs for this particular device. Otherwise, consider this an opportunity to weed out old contacts as you enter them manually.

Broke my Kin One...now what?

The Kin One (besides having lot's of other problems) is the only phone I've ever broken before my 2 years is up. Somehow the screen cracked rendering the phone all but useless. I don't want to spend any money on a new phone so I guess my only option is to revert to one of my older phones... Do you think Verizon would help me out/repair the Kin? Or is this stupid thing only good for the garabge??

Activating a working, older phone in place of the Kin is one option you have; you can also search eBay, friends, other private parties for a working phone to activate until your upgrade eligibility kicks in at 20 months. Good luck....

What happened to kin one and two??

What happened to the kin one and two?????? Im very confused. if someone can get back to me that would be great!

They sold so poorly that they have been discontinued. Verizon has returned remaining stock to Microsoft, and Microsoft is no longer going to offer software updates and development for the Kin OS. Instead, they've chosen to invest their R&D team in working on Windows Phone 7.

Kin one or kin two can't decide?

I am getting the kin one or two phone
but I can't decide which one to get.
I been watching reviews on both of them
I think I want the kin two but with the kin two do u need a zune pass
can you use itunes instead or get music from itunes onto the phone?

With either phone you do not need the zune pass subscription, however, you will need to download the zune software(free) on your computer and transfer your songs from itunes to zune, and then, to your KIN. As for which one to choose, I love the design of the kin onem, but the features on the kin twom are a little more high end so I personally chose the two. It has an 8 mp camera versus 5, records hd video, and has stereo sound. Also, it can store 8 gb of info versus the 4 the one can. Other than these differences, the phones are the same.

How can I load a normal set of ring tones, such as a bell onto my Kin one?

Trying to find a site, and instructions on adding new, non default sounds to my Kin One. Any ideas?

Keep in mind, unless you delete everything off your phone, there is no way to remove added ringtones, from how I understand how the kin phones work. I like how they dumped support of the phones before they ever finished the software.

Kin one Bluetooth Problem!!

I've been trying for quite some time now to pair my macbook with my kin one but for some reason it never works. I have the bluetooth on my phone on and set to discoverable and I have the bluetooth on my macbook on and set to discoverable. I go into my bluetooth settings on my macbook and go to "set up new device". It finds my Kin one but can't pair with it. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

You will not be able to do that with the blue tooth that is on the Kin. You can only link it to a headset.

Kin one text message being blocked

Hi I have a kin one. I have text messaging on my phone. But when I get a message from a friend I get another message that states blocked. Why? Is there something turned off?

Please provide additional information. Are you able to read the first message? Is the second message showing any details? Does this only happen with a specific sender or is the issue with all the text messages you receive?

Kin one frozen messaging

I have a kin one and i dropped my phone recently, and the last message that I recieved before dropping the phone is stuck at the bottom of the conversation. It wont move up with the conversation, simply the conversation is built on top of it. It is really annoying because i have to scroll up to read my messages. I tried deleting to conversation but when I try to start a new conversation with that person, it brings up the old messages (it wont delete the messages for this one person, but it did deletes the messages for all of my other conversations). I also tried taking the battery out of my phone multiple times but that doesn't work either. At the moment i'm trying to drain my battery completely and then recharging it to see if that helps.
Any advice on what is wrong?

I use messaging a lot as well, so I understand how important this is to you. What is seems like is that when the phone was dropped, that message was stuck on the screen and cannot be removed.
You may want to try a master reset of the device, since that may be the only way for you to get the message to go away. Before doing so, please use the USB cable to connect your device to the computer and back up your data, since it will be lost in the reset. Please follow the steps listed below.

Erase Phone Data
OK
If this does not work and the message is still there and cannot be deleted, then it's most likely the damage done by dropping the phone is not repairable.

Update kin one to onem config

What is/are method(s) for updating kin one operating system to one-m os? alternatively, is there a method of updating start up config to skip the attempt to login to kin site and other setup routines? I bought a used phone a couple weeks ago w/o understanding that updates might not be avail.

SydneyK is correct; I've activated and am using the device. I would like to use the phone primarily as a phone-text device (like the Onem) and it seems too dependent on 3G and the internet to do this easily.
When the phone is powered on, it requires revisiting and cancelling thru setup screens (or fidgeting with Cap - Alt - L) and then arriving at the mostly nonfunctional Loop and Spot.
So, I would like to disable any original function that is attempting to obtain unto me access to websites.
