Kindle-book reader from Amazon. Anyone using it?

Not sure where else to post this. I am using Leopard and wondering about the compatibility of this device from Amazon. Anyone using it? Does it work with Leopard?

Apple isn't restricting the Kindle app at all. If you're having problems, it's probably something you need to take up with Amazon support, it being their app and their product.

Another idea with less programming - take advantage of the "free" array that comes with a Chart - i.e. the History Data.
1) Wire your DMM data to a Chart. (You can set the chart to invisible if you don't plan on using it in the GUI).
2) Set the Chart History Length to 200 (right click on the chart, click on Chart History Length...)
3) On the block diagram, use the History Data Property Node, wire it to Mean.vi, and you're done.
Easiest running average ever.

How do you retrieve a book purchased from Amazon?

I downloaded the Kindle app to my IPAD and purchased a book from Amazon. How do I retrieve it?

Have you set up the Kindle app with your Amazon userid and password? If so the title of any books you have purchased should show up in the app with a downward pointing arrow on the bottom righ hand corner of the book. Click this arrow to download the contents of the book.
Update... I'm using Cloud so maybe it works differently.
Further update... A quick search found the Amazon instructions on how to do it.

Not on AppleTV itself.
If thyere's any kind of iPhone/iPad app for th eservice you might be able to Airplay it to AppleTV, but AppleTV by itself won't access Amazon stuff.

Using labview to read from flow computer using modbus

I am doing a project for my final term in instrumentation and attempting to create an HMI in LabView to interface with a Floboss 103 flow computer through modbus. All I need to do is display temp static and pressure like a meter run.
I am using the com1 port RS 485 and converting to RS 232 to the computers Comm1 Serial port. I have the modbus libraries and have attempted to communicate with several examples to no success. I have set up the modbus I/O server and made my shared variables in ranges of 400100-400103 for the first parameter. When i have the block in the block diagram from dragging it over from the project manager and run it it gives me error that the response in unreadble.
Registers in RocLink are configured to 100-103, 200-203, 300-303, with a conversion code of 71 to make it a floating point.
Any ideas on what could be wrong or an example of how to get a value to display on the screen would be much appreciated

A few questions for ya:
1) You mention modbus library but also a modbus I/O server. Which one are you using?
2) What type of serial cable are you using - null modem or straight through?
3) Can you open hyperterminal and do a loopback test to verify the serial port is working?
4) Are there any coils you can read from the device instead? These are a little easier to read and we don't have to worry about conversion codes
5) Are you getting any sort of error codes?
6) Do you have an extra computer that you can run the serial modbus slave and serial modbus master examples on?
7) Have you tried using any other software to communicate to verify everything is set up correctly? Modbus poll is a useful shareware tool to make sure everything is set up correctly. If this doesn't work, then we know the problem isn't with labview, but with hardware. If it does work, something is wrong on the software side.
I have also seen issues with 485/232 converters in the past causing issues.

APD vs Read from a cube using Function module

Hi,
Please could someone tell me which is the best practice for the below case:
I want to sent information for one cube to another and in the transformation read from a third cube. I think I have this two options:
- Option1: In the transformation use the function module to read from a third cube and take the information that I need.
- Option2: Use APD and send the information of the third cube to a DSO, and in the transformation read from the DSO, instead from the third cube.

Hi,
If I compare option 1 and option 2 then there are many complexities involved in option 2. First of all you will have to create an extra DSO just for look up purpose and this will occupy extra DB space.
You will always have to do the data transfer from cube to DSO and you need to make sure that DSO data is perfectly matching with Cube so as to populate correct values during lookup.
But in case of option1 you are simply reading data from original cube using FM so you don't need to worry about data quality for lookup. The only thing here you will have to check is how much time it takes to read data from cube. As you will be writing extraction code in Start routine and use internal table in field routine.
I hope this will not impact much on your performance.

My understanding of how it normally works, is Amazon will email you a redemption code after you purchase. The subscription is tied to an email address, your Adobe ID. You'll want to redeem the redemption code from Amazon on whatever email address/Adobe ID you intend to use here. https://creative.adobe.com/redeem
Once you do that you can download and install the Creative Cloud app to install Lightroom and Photoshop and start using your membership. Here are some instructions:

Problem while reading from text file using JDeveloper 10.1.2

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.2 for my application. In this, I have one requirement to read some data from a text file. For that, I created a test file and saved along with the java file folder. From there, I am trying to read this file but it says the file not found exception.
Application is looking the file from another location. "F:\DevSuiteHome_1\jdev\system10.1.2.1.0.1913\oc4j-config"
But, I want to read it from my home folder. How is it possible to read from that location?

I free-trialled a Kindle DRM removal tool which you can also buy, which enables kindle books with drm to be read by that Book Reader for EPUB and Kindle app. You get three free goes. You then load them up into Books folder as Troy said and import within the app
Assuming you legally own the Kindle books I don't see this as at all illegal (well not in the spiritual sense, maybe in certain countries it is illegal) but then in the greater context of man's inhumanity to man these days, probably too sinful to do.
You'll have to g00gle it as I no longer have it installed.

Reading from XML file using DOM parser.

Without reading it in detail, this seems to be automating a save as text function in Acrobat. This will not give you any position information.
If you want position information without writing a plug-in, you need to use the getPageNthWord and getPageNthWordQuads methods in JavaScript.
If you have not already done so, you will need to download the Acrobat SDK which has the documentation you need.
Writing in C# makes even very simple things complicated; if you have a choice, consider VB.
