Kindle Fire HD Sign In

I can't sign in on my Kindle Fire HD. I am 110% sure that I am signing in with the correct password but every time I try to sign in it says that I can't sign in. I check my network connection and I am connected. What am I doing wrong?

You use the menu button at the bottom of the screen, it looks like a little venetian blind. Then click settings. It probably wants you to enable cookies or something like that - does it say?

  • Kindle Fire skype sign-in

Purchased a Kindle Fire Hd and have free skype installed, but when I feel in the sign in part and it comes to the phone number it will not take my phone number. It keeps asking for country code. Help please. Amazon tells me it is a skype issue.

Skype on kindle fire is so frustrating! Why, Amazon, provide Skype when it does not work simply? Also, why should customers be forced into opening a Microsoft account? I regret buying kindle fire instead of a real tablet.

  • Kindle Fire - Skype won't sign in

Hi hope someone can help, I sideloaded Skype to my kindle fire and installed it, however, it just keeps saying 'signing in' and nothing else happens. I only want voice calls, so the video is immaterial. If some kind soul could give me some advice I would be very grateful.

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Kindle Fire $50 Trade in Denied

I tried trading in my Kindle Fire (1st Gen) at the Fenway, MA store (#804) for the Samsung $50 promotion.
Customer service officer had no idea of the promotion so I had to show him the website. He later denied me saying that the Kindle Fire is not a tablet but an ereader and is only eligible for a trade in value of $2.
Can someone please clarify if the Kindle Fire is eligible for this promotion and if not, why it is considered an ereader when it obviously runs on Android with similar apps.
    Solved!

    Good afternoon councilmage,
Thank you for taking the time to sign up for the forum.  I can understand questioning why our Fenway store may have denied your trade-in, especially when the Kindle Fire is categorized as a tablet on BestBuy.com.  Being that the original Kindle was solely an eReader, the associates may have assumed the same of your Kindle Fire; however, it should be considered more of a tablet, which means it would qualify for the current trade-in offer.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced while at the store, as we should be more familiar with our current promotional offers.  I am going to connect with the store managers from our Fenway store to ensure they have the correct information.  The offer is valid up until 9/6/2014, so I am going to suggest that you go back up to the store to try again.
If I hear back from the store or have an update, I will send you a private message.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the page.
    Warmest Regards,

  • Can Firefox and Firefox Synch be used on a Kindle Fire(Android)?

Before I try to go through the set up, do you know whether the built-in browser on a Kindle Fire can be changed to Firefox? It appears that Amazon is discouraging or preventing this. Thanks.

The mobile Firefox 9 was listed at http://www.amazon.com/Mozilla-Firefox/dp/B006PKXE3E however it was pulled recently in relation to this tracking bug.
[https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=713777 Bug 713777] - Amazon modifies and re-signs apk after uploading "was Cannot install Firefox from Amazon appstore if Firefox Beta already exists on device" (for reading only please).
Took a little to find it as "[https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=690791 Bug 690791] - submit Firefox to the Amazon Appstore" was not updated.
You can manually install it and update it manually yourself in mean time since you likely do not have Android Market access. http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/9.0/android/en-US/fennec-9.0.en-US.android-arm.apk

  • How can i download Adobe to my kindle fire hd

How can i download Adobe to my kindle fire hd

The download is more than two years old and does not allow for digital signing of documents or allowance for a username or password through the Kindle Fire or the Fire HD.  The capability was in the previous version of 10.5.0 and appears to have been left out of the most current version on Amazon.  This is probably not the most current version of Adobe Reader available in general, but Kindle users seem to have been forgotten.
Any suggestions as to how there might be a work around or if it might be fixed somehow?
    Thanks!!

  • Live account not supported by Kindle Fire HDX?

I just signed up for a new account, which also involved creating a new Microsoft Live Account, so I could use Skype on my new Kindle Fire HDX. My login works fine on the website, doesn't work at all on my Kindle Fire HDX 7".

Mine won't work either going through Microsoft Live.  It'll ring twice and then fail.  Every time.

  • Sideloaded Custom Viewer (Multi-Issue) crashes after splash on KINDLE FIRE

We have successfully used the Adobe Digital Publishing suite and pushed our application to the iTunes App Store and the Android Marketplace.
Now, however, we are using the Viewer Builder to create an APK for the Amazon App Store.
The Viewer Builder process is the same as for the Android, and we are able to download and sign the YOURAPPNAME-AndroidViewer.apk.
We have sideloaded the APK to the Kindle Fire and succesfully installed it - but on load it REPEATEDLY crashes after the Splash screen.
These two comments also indicate the SAME BEHAVIOR:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4050646#4050646
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4098598#4098598
...and they are from over a month ago.
The Kindle Fire is already, in only 3 months, the biggest and fastest selling Android tablet.
I haven't seen anything on the Adobe site or elsewhere about anyone having published a Viewer-Builder-built custom viewer to the Kindle Fire.
So... What is the status, Adobe?
    <3,
    A patient customer.

It's odd to say this, but that crash on the Amazon Fire is actually working as designed. The .apk file you create is built to allow for in-app purchases (even if it's free). If you sideload this unwrapped .apk file to your Fire, it will crash because -- as I understand it -- Amazon still hasn't enabled in-app purchases yet, so the unwrapped .apk file is basically looking for a sandbox that doesn't exist. However, if you submit the .apk file to Amazon, they will wrap it, and it should work as designed. If you want to test it, you can ask Amazon to send you the wrapped version, but it's easier just to submit it and test the live version before you announce its availability.
I went through this process with my DPS Tips app. It's now approved and in the Amazon Appstore. I haven't updated the publishing process doc yet. I was hoping to wait until Amazon got its subscriptions and in-app purchases up and running.

  • Something is wrong with Skype on my Kindle Fire HD...

I have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 Tablet that has the Skype app on it that I downloaded from the Amazon App Store. And I noticed that the screen has being flipping upside down on it before I sign in and even after it shows my contacts screen. It also does this, whenever I make a video call to someone on Skype. I find it really annoying when it does this. Did anyone run into a similar problem like the one I am having. If so, do you have any suggestions for me on how I can fix this problem?

Me too. It deleted my contacts and now they are saying the contacts do not exist. I think they need to make Skype much easier if they want us to use it. Good luck with your problem. Wish I could help you!

  • Advise on adobe reader downloads on kindle fire

Please can you advise me whether l should  leave my downloaded books in the adobe reader on my kindle fire or should l store all books together on the kindle fire cloud or somewhere else? lf so or in any case how do you transfer them?

Sign in with your Adobe ID at https://cloud.acrobat.com/ and you should find all your files.

  • Amazon say they are waiting for Mozilla to work on Kindle Fire HDX, you say you are waiting on them: can you work together?

This is part of a response I received from the Amazon team:
..."From your e-mail I understand that you would like to know when you would be able to use Firefox on your Kindle Fire HDX.
I have investigated the matter and can confirm that the Mozilla are yet to support Kindle Fire devices and have therefore not yet made a compatible version of their Firefox Browser available in our Amazon Appstore catalog. We continue to send customer feedback to Mozilla so they may consider making this app available in the future, however at this time, we are unable to verify their plans. Our apologies for any disappointment this may cause."
Can you talk to each other and get it sorted, please?

I really wonder how much in the loop that person is on this situation to have responded this way.
Mozilla did have Firefox (as of version 9.0) on Amazon store but Amazon modified and resigned the apk which caused problems so it was pulled shortly after.
Mozilla has contacted Amazon many times about modifying this policy. So far they have been unwilling.
Please do not comment on these bugs as they are for reading on history and progress.
