I can't send e mails: some problem with the outgoing mail server SMTP?

I had this same problem with both my imac and mac book pro using hotmail via mac mail with bt as my internet provider. Suddenly 4 months ago out of nowhere i could receive emails but could not send them. I scoured all the threads followed all the fixes none of them worked. However I just phoned apple support and fixed it in a matter of minutes. I am SO happy. This is what the technician advised me:
Go to your apple icon and scroll down to system preferences. Then dependant on what machine you have it is different for my imac and mac book pro click on either air port/wifi then the advanced tab in the bottom right hand corner. Then click on the DNS tab. Hit the + sign on the left hand side and type in 8.8.8.8 then hit the + sign again on the left hand side it will create a new line underneathe and type 8.8.4.4 then hit okay on the bottom right and then hit apply, again on the bottom right. Then send a test email to check but it should be fixed.
Had to share this. Its been driving me mad for months.

I have a problem with a web service I am doing, I have made a web service that returns a collection of objects, the objects have a set of properties, there is one property that is a String,this property consists in a text fragment that could have some characters that are considered special in XML like &, <, >, " and that's why when I execute the service from a client an exception is thrown:

I know that this is happening because special characters are sent by the soap message but I don't know how to solve this problem.
How could I avoid this exception ?

Hi,
BPEL and BPEL PM do not have a good support for SOAPENC-Array: it would be very difficult to create such an array in BPEL or to receive it and manipulate it.
The (unfortunately very intrusive) work around is to change the WSDL of the service to use a XML type defined using XML schema. This is all the more painful that JDev 9.0.4 does not have strong support for complex types.
In general though, I would highly recommend this best practice:
1) Start by define the WSDL contract first
2) Then generate the server side skeleton to implement it
3) Use BPEL as the client to this contract.
By starting with the contract first, you make sure that 1) your interfaces are clean and coarse grained.
2) things like java objects, sessions, etc to not leak through the interface (which would be the worst thing that could happen because it would closely link the client and the server.
Sorry for not being more helpful. This will get radically cleaner in Oracle AS 10.1.3.

Holla, I need some help with the mess I have created on my Mac.I deleted Mackeeper...now I have problems everywhere :/

So the story goes, I for some reason thought it'd be smart to delete mackeeper, I guess not. Since I have done this, I now get survey pop ups, slow slow navigation of my mac and some of my itunes files have entirely vanished.... I put Mackeeper in the trash and deleted it along with the few things in there... before this started happening... I now apparently have to pay to have Mackeeper again? I thought Mac was great in the no virus department or am I an undercover genius and figured out how to properly mess up my Mac to the point that virus's have taken over? I also noticed I had a file convertor where I was able to watch my avi files through has disappeare, entirely no trace of the program.. Is this something I may be able to do or is the shop best off having it?

Maybe the uninstalling wasn't done correctly. Did you follow these instructions?

If you didn't, you may need to re-install the dreaded MacKeeper and then uninstall it again following the above.

Sending objects with sockets (and making a mess thereof)

I'm playing about with client/server interaction and have made a simple program where a server waits for a connection on its given port, accepts a socket connection and every second checks for any input from the client and sends a Point object with co-ordinates to the client
The client in renders the Point object and every second checks for an updated Point from the server, whenever the left or right arrow keys are used the server is sent the keyevent object to process and change the co-ordinates of the point which will then be sent back
But it doesn't work, the server thread hangs on the if statement testing for a new object to read. If the code looking for a new object is comented out, the system works perfectly (with the random co-ordinates shown, the Point object itself is held in another class and would be used if the server could read the input)

I think we are going to need to see the other side of your program. If your code hangs at the if statement:
                    if (in.readObject() != null)
                         parent.process.updatePoint((KeyEvent)in.readObject());
                    }Then i would have to assume the object is never recieved.

Hi all. looking for some help with icloud.
I have a company with its own icloud account.
The calender app has 10 different calenders each calender is associated with a particular memebr of staff and so it is shared with certain employees. (they have iphones with their own icloud account)
We have hundreds and hundreds of phone numbers and emails in our address book i.e We work for many companies and have numbers for managers, and other staff within those. but i would only like to share certain poeple with our staff.
so in effect our staff have iphones. they have their own contacts on their iphone but i would like them to have access to certain parts of our address book on our mac. how can i set this up???
The calender app works really well as not only can they see and edit calenders we then see these updates our end. id like the same workability with contacts... hope someone can help

I want to export ALL calenders and ALL reminders (i.e everything) from ical and email it to someone
I know i could share etc etc.... but i need to do it this way....
Could you confirm that the way to export EVERYTHING from ical is to click> file > export > export ical archive.
and that this would then be imported at the other end and be exactly the same???

Implenting webdynpro as a Calable Object with GP Interface

Hi People,
I have created a webdynpro application, and want to implement it as a callable object with GP interface,
I have added all the required DC's.
There is no error in Build,
There in no error in Deployment,
But when I try to create the Callable object of the application deployed,
on selection of the application it says,

Cannot read callable object description from component: Failed to create delegate for custom controller lti.com.testwd1.TestWDComp1Interface. (Hint: Is the corresponding DC deployed correctly? Does the DC contain the component?)</b>
and does not allow me to go next,
Please Suggest, I am not even able to find the error or cause of this behaviour,

Hi Deepak,
When you try to create a callable object of type webdynpro with GP interface, GP will call the getDescription method of the webdynpro interface controller.
I guess you are getting some problem with this method. Check your code written in this method.
Also check whether your application has been deployed successfully on the server from the visual administrator.

How to reference objects with same name?

Probably another easy one, but again, couldn't find the answer in old discussions...
I have some objects with the same name on my form. Designer has made them unique by making an array out of them...object[0], object[1], object[2] etc. How can I reference the individual objects in javascript? I tried the obvious by referencing them as an array, but to no avail. I suppose it'd be just as easy, if not better, to just have unique names, but in this case, the objects are related and having them in an array would be handy.

When I have arrange window open, suddley strange high tones starts to make noise in my headphones. I don't know where these sounds comes from or why, but I need some help to get them away. Should I just try to contact Apple?

How to redefine GOS toolbar function "SEND OBJECT WITH NOTE" for deliveries

Hello Abapers,
for inbound and outbound deliveries (tcodes VL01N, VL02N, VL03N, VL31N, VL32N, VL33N) I have to replace the GOS toolbar function SEND OBJECT WITH NOTE with a redefined function matching the following specifications:
- Title field needs a different content
- Text (note content) should be filled by default, maybe with standard text, but can be overwritten
- All attachments in the attachment list of the object should be included by default or be selectable thru an additional button
Also possible could be an addiitonal toolbar function SEND ATTACHMENTS WITH NOTE as a copy of SEND OBJECT WITH NOTE.
Although I checked the SDN forums for a matching solution, I couldn't find one in tons of GOS threads.
Perhaps someone had solved a similar problem to send obejct with notes from GOS toolbar with several of the object's attachments.
Maybe some GOS classes have to be redefined for that, but this should only be available for deliveries, not for the other BOR types.
I'm waiting for your ideas.

No the list of steps done to solve the issue:
1. Copy of class CL_GOS_SRV_SEND_OBJECT to new class /SIE/IS_BSD_GOS_SRV_SEND_ATT.
2. SM30 for table SGOSATTR: New entry for new service ZSO_SENDATT for the new class.
3. Copy of methods ON_SERVICE_SUCCEEDED, CHECK_STATUS, CREATE_ROOT_ITEM and ON_LINK_CREATED from class CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST to the new class.
4. New code added to the top of method CHECK_STATUS to show the service for deliveries only:
IF is_lporb-typeid NE 'BUS2015'
AND is_lporb-typeid NE 'LIKP'.
    ep_status = mp_status_invisible.
    EXIT.
ENDIF.
5. Copy of function group SAPLSGOS_OUTBOX and function module SGOS_SEND_OBJECT_WITH_NOTE to own copies.
6. Before calling cl_bcs=>short_message there are several steps to do:
- CALL METHOD cl_binary_relation=>read_links
- CALL FUNCTION 'SO_DOCUMENT_READ_API1' for all links
- cl_document_bcs=>create_document for all those documents (we are using types ATTA, NOTE and URL)
- APPEND those created documents to the attachment table and pass it to i_attachments of cl_bcs=>short_message

Send an SAP object (BUS****) as attachment with SAP Mail

Hi all,
I'd like to send a internal SAP(express)-mail
with a purchase order as business object (BO) attached. (here BO = BUS2012).
It's the same thing you can do with generic object services, GOS, to send a SAP business object as mail notification
attachment.
Can I use the function 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1' or
do I have to use the BCS-functions?
All the reports BCS_EXAMPLE* don't send a
business object.

Send Object With a Note

Hi
When selecting 'Send object with a note' from a purchase order and clicking on the 'Attributes' tab the Sensitivity is set to '502 Confidential'. Can you please advise how to change the sensitivity to '501 Standard'?

Design Objects with some common attribute/behavior. Is inheritance correct?

In an application I am working on the domain/business layer has lots of domain objects. many of these domin objects aggregate to form other domain objects. Also in the application we have a class "User" that has the user information and privileges of the logged in "User."
When updates to the domain object have to be saved to the database we need this user information.
To make this we have created an AbstractDomainObject that has a private user and get and set methods.
All (almost all) domain objects in our system will extend from this Abstract DomainObject. So Contract, Shipment and Party all are domain objects and they extend AbstractDomainObject.
This way we do not need to code the get and set methods for user information in each object and also do not have to pass along the user object separately to the DataAccess layers.
But I think that this is wrong as we are using inheritance for code-reuse. (I have read about inheritance v/s composition) But it does save lot of code and any new domain object that gets written we have the user information available. (we have lots of domain objects)
Can somebody suggest what would be a better design with arguments that I could use to influence the other people in the team.
