Kingston Technology HyperX 512MB PC4000 DDR DIMM Memory

hi im getting 2 512mb of these and i dont know the correct timing and voltage...im using a MSI NEO 875P NEO board...it would be a great help thanks so much

hello, all
865PE Neo2-LS motherboar for memory dual channel kits:
DDR 400MHz, 1 of 4 banks, non-ECC, 184 PIN DIMM, PC3200
I want to Just PC3200 memory (I don't want to high memory: PC3500 or 4000),
so which's one good memory?
Corsair 1GB(2x512MB) 1x TWINX1024-3200C2 CL=2-3-3-6
Centon  1GB(2x512MB) 1GBDUALPC3200  CDC1G/IKVN CL=2.5 or CL=3
Kingston Hyperx 1GB(2x512MB) KHX3200AK2/1G CL=2-3-2-6-T1 --this is doesn't have my BIOS DRAM timings like T1
and i have questions
if I used centon memory, is will work good?
If I used corsair memory, is will work good?
what is CL=T1 for DRAM timing?
CL=TI is My BIOS doesn't have SDRAM Timing by SPD, just only they are have 5 DRAM Timings setting:
-CAS# Latency –[CAS Latency (CL)]= 2 clocks ,2.5 clocks ,3 clocks
-RAS# Precharge –[Minimum Row Pre-charge Time (tRP)]= 2 clocks, 3 clocks, 4 clocks.
-RAS# to CAS# Delay –[Minimum Ras to Cas Delay (tRCD)]= 2 clocks, 3 clocks, 4 clocks, .
-Precharge Delay –[Minimum Active to Pre-charge Time (tRAS)]= 5 clocks, 6 clocks, 7 clocks,8clocks, .
-Burst Length= 4, 8.
please, I need help....thanks

Is this just a major typo? Don't they mean 240 pin?  The picture looks like 240.
200 pin is sodimm laptop memory.  They list 200 pin for several memory master desktop dimms.

I wonder why there is only one bank with 512mb and two banks with 2gb. Is each slot a bank? There are only 2 memory slots.
It does seem to have much less disk activity and respond quicker however I have to return this and get my own memory. Each 1gb memory card is Black Diamond Series certified memory M533DN-1024BD10.

Have you tried setting the multi to x7 and just let it rip and see how high the memory can go?

  • DDR 500 memory compatible with MSI K8N Neo4 Platninum?

    Hi Folks,
I have a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum PCB version 1 (S939/Nvidia NForce 4 Ultra), running the latest BIOS version.  I wondered if DDR 500/PC4000 memory would work at DDR500 speeds?  I note that the MSI webpage for this mobo only mentions DDR400 and in the manual, the BIOS description under "Advanced Chipset Features" - "Memclock Index Value (MHz)" says the maximum speed is 200MHz.  However, when I go to this setting in my own BIOS, I can set it to 250MHz.  I assume that this should give me DDR500?  Would altering this "Memclock Index Value" above 200 MHz cause any other problems with FSB, CPU, HT, PCIe, PCI speeds etc. or is it completely independent?  Does anyone have any recommendations of what sticks would work best (I was thinking 2 * 1024 Mb of Corsair XMS or OCZ XTC).  Now that DDR2 is standard and DDR prices are creeping up, there doesn't seem to be much difference in price between DDR 400 and DDR 500 memory.  Evern if my mobo can't support it, is there any merit in buying DDR 500 memory and running it at DDR 400 or intermediate speeds?
    Cheers!

    The x2 4800 would run 10x250=2500mhz.
With ddr500 it's beautifull, since you can use the cas latencies which are suited for the memory.
I have to lower my timings a bit to run them at 500mhz.Not much though, but I don't know what the long term prospect is for my memory if I maintain that for long periods of time.
As for running games,I found lower cas timings make my games run smoother opposed to the slightly higher ddr clock with slower timings.
But as mentioned, set cpu vcore 1 step higher in bios, leave the memory at auto, set cpu fsb or HTT at 250mhz,and use the default multiplier of 10 or also leave on auto.'The memory runs in spec and you wont damage it,only the cpu's get another 100mhz and should be a little bit more spicey while temps shouldn't go much higher as it is now.
The sticks should fit physically and I ran mine once at 266mhz stable, and they are just pc3200@200mhz

  • TS1587 I tried everything, except for reinstalling the SO-DIMM memory modules. Still, my iMac will not wake up. Turning it on you can hear the fan run, but the display stays dark. Any ideas what to do? Thanks Maja

My iMac won't start up, or wake from sleep.  I've tried everything, except for reinstalling the SO-DIMM memory modules. Still, my iMac will not wake up.  Turning it on, you can hear the fan run, but the display stays dark.  Any ideas what to do?  Thanks!

    Mac doesn't boot
Can you hear the fans and hard drive and see the white boot screen? Flashing question mark? The circle just runs and nothing happens? Only black screen and nothing else? These can be very helpful to diagnose the source of the problem. [1]
Flashing question mark [2]: This is usually a sign of a failed hard drive. This indicates that boot up volume can not be found.
Black screen: This is usually a sign of a failed logic board. There is no single reason for this and this may be caused by failed GPU, screen, CPU or RAM.
Circle of death/no circle/blue screen: This is usually a sign of a hard drive failure. This may NOT be a dead hard drive, just broken permissions or something
Gray screen/Apple logo/spinning gear or globe/prohibitory sign/folder with flashing question mark [3]: This could be a sign of faulty hardware but more likely a software issue, i.e. broken permissions, failed software update, etc.
    [edit]
    What to do
First, hold down the option key (also known as the alt key) just after you've pressed the power button. This should show all the available options to boot from, so if you have Windows installed through Bootcamp or a disk in your SuperDrive, you should be able to see them along with your OS X drive/partition. Select the OS X partition with arrow keys and press enter. Startup key combinations
If that doesn't help continue doing the steps from below:
    1. SMC reset [4]. Shut down and unplug all cables including power cord for at least 30 seconds and then plug in power cord and keyboard/mouse.
    2. PRAM reset [5]. Hold down option, command, P and R while booting. Start it when you hear the sound and don't let go before it reboots.
    3. Safe boot [6]. Hold down shift while booting to boot into safe mode. If this works, open Disk Utility from Utilities and repair your permissions and verify the disk
    4. Hardware test [7]. Insert the install disk (disk 1 in Mac which shipped with OS X 10.5.4 or earlier, disk 2 if shipped with OS X 10.5.5 or newer) and hold down "D" before the grey boot screen opens. Follow on screen instructions
    5. Boot from install disk. Boot from the disk that came with your Mac. Hold C while booting. Select Disk Utility from top bar and repair permissions and verify the disk. Reboot normally and see if it works now.
    6. Boot from another Mac (Firewire target disk mode). Connect the machines with a Firewire cable. Power on your Mac and press T. Select the other Mac's hard drive. Download the current OS X combo update. Run the combo update installer and select the drive that won't boot as the destination.
    7. "Repair" OS X. Boot from the install disk as in point 5. and reinstall OS X. This should NOT erase any data, just replaces the system files which may have caused your booting problem. Now install the latest combo update for OS X and repair permissions on your drive with Disk Utility.
7.1. Install OS X into an external hard drive and then boot from it [8] and try to copy your data from the hard drive before proceeding. If you have done a backup recently, you don't have to do this.
    8. Restore OS X from Time Machine backup. Boot from the disk that came with your Mac and choose the Time Machine restore option. This step will lose any changes made since your last backup but the system and your data will be put back to exactly as it was on that date.
8.1 Reinstall OS X. Boot from the install disk as in point 5. and select Disk Utility again. Now erase the whole hard drive and install OS X again. If you had a Time Machine backup and step 7 worked you don't have to do this.

  • How do i export photos to a thumb drive i have a 21.5 inch iMac the thumb drive is a kingston data traveler 512mb. help!!!

How do I export photos to a Kingston Data Traveler 512mb, I have a 21.5 IMAC   OSX ,I hope thats enough  info?

If you're using iPhoto, choose Export from the File menu and specify a location on it.
If you're using loose photos, drag them to a location on the thumbdrive.
In either case, Mac OS X needs to be able to write to the drive; if it's formatted as NTFS, this requires additional software.

  • Will Kingston's HyperX RAM work with my Mac?

I want to know if the Kingston HyperX RAM work with my Mid-2010 2.4GHz 15" MBP?
The 8GB version with this name: KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX
    http://www.kingston.com/hyperx/products/khx_sodimm.asp
Also, what is the biggest capacity USB 3.0 Flash stick there is?

The only products on that page that meet the specifications for your MBP have been discontinued. Don't buy any of the others. Use only RAM that has the specifications Apple recommends. You will gain no benefit and may experience instability and unreliability if you use faster RAM than is recommended. It should clock down and work, but it doesn't always. And of course you'll pay extra for it.
As for USB3 flash drives, is 256GB big enough?

  • Thinkpad T30--Looking for (1) 512MB PC2100 DDR 266Mhz 200-pin SO-DIMM

Helping a friend out overseas who has this as the only computer.  It has 1 512MB card in it now but from what I can tell, its expandable to1GB via (2) 512MB cards.  As a last resort I can buy a new card for around $20 delivered to me, then postage overseas, but if it doesnt boot, into the trash it goes, therefore I'm hesitant to spend more than I have to.  I believe a PC2700 would work also, but just at the PC2100 rate, is that correct? Not interested in performance, just the increased ram since its running XP, 512mb, just isnt enough.  What would you all suggest the most economical way to achieve this one card would be?
    Thanks

Make no mistake, T30s are VERY fine machines regardless of the memory slot problem...and that problem is fixable.
There is nothing to be unsure about when it comes to RAM: any laptop-size PC2100/2700 (DDR266/333) 1GB stick will work, as will 2 of them if both slots are good. My last T30 (2366-97U) had 2GB of PC2700 RAM and a 7200rpm drive, and it flew in XP in all normal applications that were not video intensive.
The only reason that IBM's site states that the maximum memory is 1GB is the fact that at the time of the announcement, 512MB was the largest DIMM available. This also holds true for A31/p, R40, G40/1...etc.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • Crucial DDR PC3200 memory timmings please

    Hi All
    Has anyone got the memory timmings ?.?.?.? for the Crucial DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • Non-parity • 5ns • 2.6V • 64Meg x 64
    Thanks

    certifiable -
I'm running Kingston 2700pcu and am consistently getting the following Sandra scores with my timings set at 9|3|3|2.5.
    Int: 2810
    Float: 2650
My FSB is realatively low at 187. Since I'm new to overclocking, I am working on understanding the relation FSB has to Mem bandwidth (specifically if bandwidth stays consistent with Mem timming regardless of FSB). For example, does my mem bandwidth stay the same running with timmings set at 9|3|3|2.5 at 180 FSB as 166 FSB?
From the little bit of testing I've done it seems to be the case.
I only mention that because I wonder if this might be why my bandwidth scores with DDR 2700  are comparing favorably to yours with 3200.
I was going to suggest using the project comparison feature with PCMark02 but realized it doesn't compare ram timings or type. Just size (256, 512, etc.).
Can someone familiar with the PCMark04 Pro mention if it reads ram timings for comparison.
Thanks. And my apoligies for such a noob reply.
(edit) errr. i thought this was in overclocking forum.

  • K8N NEO4 Platinum (MS-7125) DIMM Memory Setup

im planning to install two Kingston value ram KVR400X64C3A/512 on my K8N NEO4 Platinum board, this two modules although identical feature double side chip arrangement, i an also well aware from reading the board manual that dual channel installation of these modules will actually slow down the performance of the memory,
what would be the best setup for these to modules?
im planning on installing one module in DIMM1 and the other in DIMM2, is that the best recommendable arrangement for this type of DIMMS?
also this DIMMS use 2.6v, and the board default setup is 2.5v, should i leave the default settings or do i need to make any changes in the bios configuration for these to work properly?

I would go with a dualchannel config.
Confirm dualchannel mode on boot screen or with cpu-z software
    http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php
To compare differant memory configs, you can get a rough performance idea by running sisoft sandra mem.benchmark.
    http://download.guru3d.com/sandra/
Never go below RAM voltage recommendation.
I rather upper the voltage to 2.7 for best stability.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB   vs.   256MB   - MEMORY QUESTION

how much difference will i see between the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, and the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory??
i will be doing HD editing on FCP.

All FX Plug class effects in FCP will benefit with that beefier card. Also Motion and Color will benefit. You'll see a smother preview in Motion, and faster renders in Color. In FCP, you'll see more RT playback of unrendered effects if they are the FX class effects as well. Go with the beefier card. It will only serve you down the line too. The movement in software architecture is to offload CPU cycles to GPU cycles, and will continue to go that way as far as I can see, so the beefier card will pay for itself down the line too. Do it now, and it will cost less as well.

  • Ballistix pc4000 ddr 500 running @ ddr 214 - help please?

    k8n neo2 plat bios ver 1.3
    3200 winchester
2x512 ballistix pc 4000 ddr sdram in slots 1+3
    Hi
Im hoping someone will be able to help. I cannot get this memory to run at anything more than a ddr clock of 107 (214 ddr) when i set the timing to 'auto' on the memlock. Cpu-z says this speed but also has '256 clocks' in the 'dram idle timer' in its memory tab (meant to be 16 clocks im sure).
Ive messed around with it for ages trying to get it to work and have just received various error sounds and messages causing me to have to reset the cmos numerous times just to be able to get back in.
I can get it to work if i lock the memlock at 200 but this is causing it to run at only pc3200 (ddr 400) speed, not to mention giving me the inability to overclock it at all. Timings are set at what the memory is meant to run ddr 500 at - 2.5-4-8-4 (but im only sticking 2.7 volts through it, from stated 2.8, as it's running slower).
The crucial tool said it would work fine, the spec of the memory and board indicate that they're compatible with each other, and several people in the thread on this site are using it (1 person @ 235 fsb) - so i seem to think that i may be missing something.
Also, each stick of the memory works fine on it's own, got it to ddr 440 without flinching (220 fsb... ), and stable, no crashes or nothing - hours of use and numerous benchmarking. But 2 sticks just sends the ddr clock back to 107 unless i lock the memlock.
I've run memtest whilst locking the memlock at 200 and it showed no errors. Im going to do the same thing overnight tonight with the ddr clock knackered at 107 - see what shows up.
My other memory works fine - 2x512 2700 kingstonX.
    Can anyone help? Much thanks

    Try a BIOS upgrade.
Maybe it's no coincidence that my OCZ 3500EB was also limited to 214 mhz on my K8N Neo (not Neo2) with BIOS 1.4. Both sets of RAM use ICs made by Micron so perhaps it's no coincidence (not to say they're exactly the same.  They're not.)
Upping to beta BIOS 1.52, 1.55, or 1.56 fixes things for me.
Maybe for the Neo2 you should try beta 1.36 or 1.37 then? Worth a try.  I believe that K8N Neo BIOS 1.4 and K8N Neo2 BIOS 1.3 are total clunkers.
    Good luck...

  • Quick Question re: Dimm / Memory

    Hi,
Yet another question re: Dimm's memory, but I did search before posting.
    I have a Mac Pro 3,1 and 6 Dimms
    2 x 4 Gig
    4 x 1 Gig
    Currently Riser 1 has
    Slot 1 / 2 = 1 gig / 1 gig
    Slot 3 / 4 = 4 gig / 4 gig
    Riser 2 has
    Slot 1 / 2 = 1 gig / 1 gig
    Slot 3 / 4 = Empty
    I can't afford 8 more gig yet.  When I do, I was going to use the 4 x 4 gig in Slots 1 / 2 on both cards, and transfer the 4 x 1 gigs to slots 3 / 4, as I've read that latency is better on Slot 1 / 2 Riser 1.
However, can I improve the configuration in the memory I use now?
From reading - my guess is that either:
    No, leave as is or
    (My guess):
    Riser 1
    Slot 1 / 2 = 4 gig / 4 gig
    Slot 3 / 4 = 1 gig / 1 gig
    Riser 2
    Slot 1 / 2 - empty
    Slot 3 / 4 = 1 gig / 1 gig (to balance out Slot 3/4 on Riser 1.
    Thoughts?
I'm using this as an editing station with Media Composer 6 on one boot drive, Final Cut Suite 3 on the other.

  • System will only boot with 1 x DDR DIMM stick!

    Hi guys,
Recently upgraded to a K8T Neo (VIA K8T800) however when I try and run the system with 2 x DIMM's (TMC 512MB PC3200) it doesn't boot and I just get audio beeps.  I have tried all the DIMM sockets and it still does the same thing.  It does work though with just 1 x DIMM.  Both DIMM's are functional.
Sounds like it's not compatible.  Is there a BIOS setting I can change?

    Thanks for the replies,
Apologies, I am actually running a 300w PSU (13A at +12v) which is still below acceptable and could be causing the problems.  I have an Antec TRUE 430w PSU on it's way I just thought I would install the new board + CPU to see if it all worked.
Both DIMM's are ok.  The limiting idea didn't work (went as a low as DDR266).  Didn't fancy playing with the voltage as the power supply is already under pressure!  Also had tried the socket combo's prior to posting.
The audio warning with both DIMM's installed is three long beeps.  Sounds like it is not even registering as having any RAM at all?  If I put my old RAM in (2 x 256MB PC2100) the system boots.  These require less power I take it?
Main concern really is even with more power will these 2 x TMC 512 PC3200's work?  I don't even see TMC in the compatiblity table?  Need to know so I can get this RAM swapped!
