Kingston ValuRAM DDR400 runs only 333Mhz in Dual Channel, why?(865PE Neo2-LS)
Hi!
I have a problem. I've installed two DDR400 Ram moduls in my 865PE Neo2-LS motherboard and the memory runs only at 333Mhz. I cannot change the DDR clock, it always shows 333. What can i do to make my memories run at 400Mhz?
KINGSTON VALUE RAM PC3200 512MB CL 2.5 and KINGSTON VALUE RAM PC3200 512MB CL 3.0. The different CL value is the problem? According MSI my motherboard supports DDR400 Dual Channel.
Intel P4 3.0GHZ FSB800, 865PE Neo2-LS, Kingston DDR400 2x512Mb DUAL CHANNEL, Connect3d ATI RADEON 9800Pro 128MB, Seagate HDD 20GB 7200RPM
SONY CDROM x52, SB PCI128, MACRON 400W, COOLER MASTER Aero4 Lite, WINDOWS XP Professional, cup of tea.
Please,anybody help me!
B.Tomas,
One more thing I forgot to mention and I am not sure if you have done it already is I did up my memory voltage to 2.7 to get it to run without any errors
As Serious states you must use a " Dual Channel" kit. I tried to run "DualChannel" with two sticks that were exactly the same specs{or so I thought} but bought at different times and I had nothing but trouble.
I did update my bios but only because I am running a Prescott I am not sure if this has anything to do with why my memory is working.

Is it possible to run 3 DIMMs with Dual Channel on K7N2-Delta-L?
I was wondering whether it is possible to run Dual Channel with all 3 slots.
I noticed the manual said Dual Channel is only enabled when running 1/3, or 2/3.
However, friends with Asus and Abit boards of similar design (nForce 2 400 with 3 DIMM slots) told me they can run Dual Channel with DIMMs in all three slots.
Has anyone tried something like this with the K7N2 Delta-L?Quote
Power: CompUSA 500W Specs
+3.3V = 15A
+5V = 42A
+12V = 19A
-5V = 0.6A
-12V = 0.6A
+5Vsb= 2A
Total 500W
the 3.3v rail is terrible.
i have 20 amps on the 3.3v rail and i have a generic 300w psu.
time to buy a new one and make that a antec enermax or any other good psu.
drop a post here if you want any advise on which psu you should buy
3.3v 25a
5v 35a
12v 16a
something like this is minimum of what you should have.
500w does not mean anything when looking at a psu.
an enermax 350w has almost twice the power output as a q-tec 550w. -

Quote
• Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600 DRAM, 8GB Max
• Supports two unbuffered DIMM of 1.8 Volt DDR2 667/800 DRAM, 4GB Max
With the last BIOS, it states that 4GB modules may be possible, but looking at the memory test report http://www.msi.com/file/test_report/TR10_1393.pdf it seems this was only done for DDR2 modules, as these are the only ones reflecting this.
Suggest you check with MSI technical if the BIOS should accommodate DDR3 4GB modules as well. >>How to contact MSI.<<
Do a CMOS clear, then once in the BIOS, set your DRAM ratio so that the DRAM is at 1066. See if that works. -
2 x 256mb + 2 x 512mb = Dual Channel?
Hi all,
Should be a quick and easy one, Have read a few posts in the sticky's but not found an answer yet. Here goes:
I currently have 2 x 256mb in dual channel. My local store is selling 512mb stiks cheap if I buy 2 can I run them all in dual channel?
They are the same brand. BUT I think I read somewhere about the Newcastle Cpu's not running 4 stiks in dual channel mode or it may have been that they could only run at 333mhz.
Can you chaps clarify any of this for me, before I shell out my hard earner cash?
Cheers Ric.Quote from: bassmadrigal on 30-June-05, 14:06:44
Do you have the D-Bracket installed? If so what does it list the error being (please no color codes, post the actual error listed in your manual)? What are the max amps on the 3.3v 5v and 12v rails? This info can be found on a sticker on the side of the PSU. Also what are your complete system specs? Use my sig for parts to include.
Good Luck
Jeremy
The board didn't come with any accessories or a manual as it was a refurb purchase from newegg.com so I can not tell you anything.
As far as the max amps on the rails you mentioned, 3.3v is 28A, 5v is 45A and 12v is 18A. As far as system specs, the components I've listed are the only things being used atm as I'm down to barebone trying to troubleshoot this problem.
About the Mobile 64 Clawhammer 3000+ that I have, the reason I chose this board was because I was told (I don't remember where exactly anymore) that this was one of the few mobos that would with with a Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor. The reason I chose the Mobile AMD Athlon 64 3000+ socket 754 Clawhammer processor was because it was cheaper than a normal desktop 3000+ 64 socket 754 processor @ Newegg.com and it had a full megabyte of L2 cache vs the 512KB L2 cache that the newcastle 3000+ AMD 64 socket 754 processor. -
I upgraded RAM on my W530 and it's working only in single channel mode. How to enable dual channel in BIOS?
Here is screenshot about my RAM

Solved!
Go to Solution.I did some testing earlier this year and did a short write-up and decided that the advantages of dual-channel, frequency and cas latency were more theoretical than practical. I was using a laptop with 2 slots, so it isn't quite the same, but it was an i7 Ivy Bridge CPU, so there should be more similarities than differences. This is what I wrote:
Probably more often than once a week, I see or hear a question regarding advantages of buying faster memory or using matched pairs of DIMMs. Obviously, using memory that is rated faster than the bus speed yields no improvement, and I always believed that advantages of "matched pairs" was more theoretical than actual. For no good reason, I decided to run a semi-scientific test. I have a T430s machine here, which will run at DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1333 mHz, depending on the memory installed. I also have 2 matched pairs of 8GB DIMMs. One pair is Corsair Value memory (DDR3-1333 CL-9) and the other pair is Corsair Vengeance, their "better" memory (DDR3-1600 CL-10). My idea was to test the memory 3 ways: 2 faster DIMMs, 2 slower DIMMs and mixing one of each type. My expectation was that the fast memory would run at 1600 bus dual-channel; the slow memory would run at 1333 bus speed dual-channel, and the mixed configuration would run at 1333 bus speed, but not use dual channel operation and be the slowest. First, I ran the windows7 "windows experience test". The faster memory gave a "memory operations per second" score of 7.6, while the slower memory gave a score of 7.5. The mixed option was the same as the slower memory.
I then ran Memtest86+. (the free memory tester I use) First, it became obvious why the mixed set ran as fast as the matched pair of slower memory. The mixed set was using dual-channel operation. I now assume that "matched pair" really means any 2 of the same size. When I ran the full memory test, the faster memory took 1:20:45. The slower memory took 1:21:55. I ran one more test to look at single-channel vs dual-channel operation. I ran just one of the faster DIMMs. If it were running at the same speed, the test would have taken half the time taken by the pair, or 40:23. It actually took 41:52, and the windows experience score fell from 7.6 to 7.2. I was going to complete the test by running 2 4GB DIMMs, but the only PC3-1600 4GB DIMMs I had were the ones that Lenovo includes with systems, and it is slightly slower that the DDR3-1600 memory I used (CL-11 VS. CL10).
It seems clear to me that one would never be able to notice any difference in any real application, but there was a measurable difference that would allow someone to win a "mine is bigger than yours" contest -
Problem with dual channel memory (B75MA-P45)
Hello,
I can't make the dual channel memory working.
When I put DDR3 in slots 2 + 4 or slots 1 + 3 and even if all slots are installed with the same DIMM, it does not boot and restart in loop.
Currently, this mobo works with DDR3 in slots 1 + 2 (so without dual channel).
I have read posts about bent pins, therefore I inspected the CPU seating but nothing seems wrong.
My CPU has been recovered from a HP pavilion ; don't know whether it's important or not.
Hope someone has a tip for me.
My configuration:
Motherboard: B75MA-P45
CPU: i5-2320
Memory: tried several, finally tested 4 x 4GB Kingston PC3-10600 CL9 240 (KVR13N9S8/4)
Graphic card: Palit GeForce GTX-750 TiThanks for your answers.
I'll try asap slots 3 & 4.
It's almost a new build (one month ago). The whole story is:
I bought the motherboard and two memory sticks of 2 and 4 GB DDR3 as I already had similar ones on my HP pavilion (but not exactly the same, not same brand). I expected to run on 12 GB dual channel memory. But the dual channel did not work at first try. After some additionnal testing, I tought it was because the sticks aren't compatible ones with others. So I purchased 3 sticks of Kingston 4 GB, exactly the same reference as one I already have.
Now, I'm pretty sure that this problem isn't related to memory sticks.
I already did a clear CMOS during installation for other reason but it didn't solve this problem.
Since, this PC works well with Win7. I tested it under considerable stress and it runs just fine. -
Just want to make sure i got this together right, normally this is a no brainer but for some reason im left wanting a verification. Probably because some of my older gear all used to skip a bank for dual channel.
MSI785gm-e65 , i populate dimm1 and dimm2 with my matched set, runs unganged but is dual channel?
Thanks in advance. It is dual channel indeed. You have to match the slots of the same color. I think you have used the black ones and the memory then should be running in dual channel.

Materialized View to run only once in a year...
Hi everybody...
I want to create a materialized view which will run only once in a year and specifically some minutes after 00:00 a.m. on new year's day,
so i created the following:
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW <mv_name>
BUILD IMMEDIATE
REFRESH START WITH TO_DATE('01/01/2007 00:15:00','DD/MM/RRRR HH24:MI:SS')
NEXT SYSDATE+366
I have two notes:
1) how to declare the refresh to be done the first new year's day after the day it'll be created , i mean not static date (01/01/2007)
2)some years are leap and some are not , so in order to run every new year's day how should i transform the above..????
3)is there any view which displays the next run of a materialized view..???
the view DBA_MV_REFRESH_TIMES displays the last refresh of mv's...
I use Oracle 10.2.0.1 on XP ...
Thanks , a lot
Simon1).
use the expression that evaluates to next january first.
SQL> select sysdate, add_months(trunc(sysdate, 'yyyy'), 12) from dual ;
SYSDATE ADD_MONTHS(
19-JUN-2006 01-JAN-2007
1 row selected.
SQL>2). for this also use the same expression that will evaluate to the january first of the year after that. -
I have found a site selling cheap Kingston memory in single sticks, if I install 2 or 4, will they still run in dual channel or do I need to buy a kit marked dual channel?
I'm going to vote with babowa. RAM is one place you don't want to cheap out. Where I work we buy RAM from 2 sources, direct from Crucial Tech or from OWC. Both sell high quality RAM, both have excellent customer support. You might save a dollar or two elsewhere but since so many of the computer problems I have dealt with other the years have traced back to RAM I don't consider it worthwhile.

Flash 11.1 runs only in Software mode in all browsers
Hi,
I have a problem that the Flash player runs only in Software mode in all browsers.
I have the following notebook: Dell Vostro 3350 with dual graphics (Intel HD Graphics integrated and AMD Radeon HD 6490M dedicated), the OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
The driver version that is in the device manager is the following: 8.840.7.3000 (I've made sure to have installed the latest driver from Dell)
The hardware acceleration radio button in the Flash settings is on, of course.
The funny thing is that in the Flash 11 Incubator program DirectX rendering was working properly, the problems have started since the RC version of Flash 11.
Can you help me somehow?
Many thanks,
CapKosmatyHey guys, I'm unburying this thread; I've waited a bit, hoping that an update would put my model from the blacklist, but there's no change;
Here's my dxdiag log: (could it be that Flash has problems with switchable graphics? I run different retail games, like Star Wars: The Old Republic recently, and they run perfectly on the Radeon HD 6490M)
again, I'm grateful for help!

K8t Neo2 won't run dual channel with Opteron 165
Hi,
I have a K8t Neo 2, and was running a Newcastle 3500+ on it, with 2x1GB PC3200 memory sticks (Buffalo memory) in dual channel mode (ie DIMM 1 and DIMM 3 populated) without any problems. I replaced the 3500+ with a new Opteron 165, and the system would not post. One of the red lights on the D-bracket was red, the rest were out.
To troubleshoot, I removed one of the memory sticks, and the system booted fine. I then put the 2nd memory stick in a non-dual channel setup (DIMM 1 and DIMM 2 populated), and it booted fine. If I try booting the system with the RAM in any dual channel enabled configuration, it will not post. I verified that it isn't a RAM issue, because I have 2 sticks of 512 MB ShikaXRam, which has always worked fine, and I got the same behavior as I got with the Buffalo RAM. I have tried changing the RAM clocking in the BIOS, and that also doesn't help, because it seems it reads the speed automatically no matter what you set the DRAM clocking page to.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this board not Opteron 165 compatible with dual channel memory?Alright, I tried all of the steps mentioned, setting optimized defaults, even tried changing all memory timings to the most conservative available. The only way the system will boot with 2 DIMMs installed is if they are in the two slots furthest from the CPU. It will also post with 3 DIMMs installed in any configuration.
I also have a generic 500 w PSU that is rated 32a on the 12v rail that I tried quickly plugging in (just plugged the 2 PSU connectors to the motherboard without hooking any of the IDE devices to it) It still exhibits the same behaviour. With no hard drives, optical drives, etc plugged in, wouldn't that pretty much eliminate the PSU as an issue?
I don't want to just spend $100 on a new PSU if it's highly unlikely to be the issue. Does this sound like something I'd need to replace the motherboard to fix? Is the performance difference between dual channel and single channel enough to even warrant buying a new board? The reason I want to avoid replacing the board right now is because I still have an AGP card, and don't want to replace it right now as well as the board, and getting another AGP based board seems to be stupid. Also, AGP boards are really hard to find now, and most of them available locally run on the ULi chipset -
Is there a way to have an iPad run only 1 app at a time?
I am a tech support person and teachers are asking me if we can have a students iPad run only one app at a time. For instance, a group of students in biology would be allowed to run only the app for their biology book.
Students have gotten so distracted during classtime with iMessage, web browsing, videos and games that it becomes virtually impossible to keep them on task in the classroom.
I am aware of adding profiles to the devices, but this profile would only be for the biology class. It would then have to be removed or deactivated upon leaving the class. You can restrict iPads running iOS 6 to a single app via Guided Access:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5509
but that requires reconfiguration of the iPads whenever you want to set it up or deactivate or change it. There may be a mobile device management (MDM) system that would allow you to push out such changes "on the fly" but I can't say with certainty. Someone else here or in the iPad in the Enterprise forum may know.
Otherwise it may be necessary to implement an administrative solution such as banning use of iPads in class or enforcing consequences should a student be using the iPad for inappropriate functions.

How do I get The ipad locked to run only one application for customers (perhaps a webapp)
how do I get The ipad locked to run only one application for customers (just one web app, or video- instructions, or just safari). What I really want is that my customers to only use one app that has all my services. It is an interactive app so I would not like them to go surfing elsewhere while they are in my store.
Is it possible to do this on the iPad ?Try this:
LabVIEW Champion . Do more with less code and in less time .

How do I submit a job to run only once?
I have a stored procedure that submits a job. If this job fails, I don't want it to continue trying to run. Does anyone know how to ensure that it will only run once, no matter what?
I did try something similar to the following:
procedure proc_submitted_as_job(p_job_no number) is
begin
dbms_job.broken(p_job_no, true);
end;
However, I found out that if you change the Broken state while a job is running, then it gets reset when the job completes.
Basically, I'm using the dbms_job utility to run a long-running procedure in the background. If there's another way to obtain this same result, I'd love to hear it.I am still haveing problems so I will try and attach my program and see if you can help a little more that. It will probably be easier for you to look at this way. When you look at the diagram sequence 0 is the one the problem is in. In that sequence you will see a case structure and that is where the finite pulse train vi is. When case 1 is selected the finite pulse train will run again and again until I leave case 1. I need to have the program run the finite pulse train once and then wait and do nothing until the case is changed. The finite pulse train will be in all cases inside the case structure I just haven't done that yet, I am waiting until it works. The pulse train is used to move a stepper motor that is why running only once is im
portant because the stepper motor is used to position something.

How do I get a case to run only once
I am using an e-series DAQ board to bring a pwm signal, then I use labview to use that signal to pick one of three cases. depending on the case picked a finite pulse stream is sent out. Currently the finite pulse vi keeps repeating because the the program stays in the case. I need a way to get labview to run the finite pulse output only once, and not run again until a new case is picked. I don't have the case in a while loop.
Thanks For The HelpI am still haveing problems so I will try and attach my program and see if you can help a little more that. It will probably be easier for you to look at this way.
