Cannot log into my Ovi Email account; system displays "ERR_AUTH_AC_DAMAGED" error - need urgently to have access to my Ovi Email account !

Called Nokia twice the first guy said it was a password issue and he would resend a reset password through Ovi email accout,I reminded him that I could not access my email account to which he replied thats a "good point"
said he would delete my account from his side meaning I could set it up again still have the same problem.Called again about an hour ago and women said there was no account associated with my email address.
I explained that when I log into my Ovi account it lists my Ovi mail as my prefered address.She told me to delete my nokia messaging acc through my phone and set it up again. still no luck aaarrrrggghh
I am at a loss I have a couple of emails for a job interview in the next few days

Settings freeze "kiss of death"

ONe 3 different occasions now when I select settings the iPhone 3G will totally freeze up. This happened once with my first iPhone 3G so I took it back and got another. At the time I did not know about the special reset (described below). twice now I experienced freeze up when selecting settings. Unfortunately all 3 times I was on the road away from my computer. This is a major headache and causes loss of ones cell phone as well. The latest freeze up happened about 4 hours after I installed 2.01!!
The only way I have figured out how to recover is to do a special reset while the iPhone is attached via USB cable to your computer. If you experience freeze up most likely the iPhone will not bootup. Trying to reboot for hours will for some reason cause the battery to get hot and may cause further damage. Also foget hoping that the iPhone will mount in this condition.
Do this, once you have attached your iPhone to your computer do press the sleep / wake button while also howding down the home button. Once the Apple logo comes up release the sleep / wake button immediately and continue hoding down the home button for another 10 - 15 seconds. At this point the iPhone will mount and you can do a restore. If you have not gone through the agony of waiting for the backup every time and instead stopped the restore you will get a restore corrupt message and you must set up the iPhone as "new".
I am a proud Apple user since the days of the Apple 2e (1984). I am sorry to say that I am a little disappointed in Apple rolling out the 2.0 software and 3G at the same time. So far this has caused me to be without a phone for 3 full days, Not a good thing when I must keep tabs on my ailing 88 year old dad.
OK, enough of the rant. I would suggest not at all seleting settings while away from your computer, this may be dangerous to your health until Apple corrects this problem. I would be VERY CURIOUS to hear of anyone else having this problem. After all this happened to me on two different iPhone 3G's now. One of those iPhones was only 2 days old.

By any chance did you have an app update in progress when you went into the settings?
I've had this kiss of death issue and proved it (painfully) by recreating it today.
Steps I did that caused repeatable KoD:
1) Went into App Store while on home wireless network
2) Check for updates
3) Select an update
4) Start update process
5) Update runs for a bit
6) Select the "Settings" icon
7) KoD
You now are in the "White Apple logo of Death" experience. Your phone will continue in this mode while the battery gets incredibly hot.
Note: reason I was going in to settings was to extend the auto lock timeout so I wouldn't have to keep touching the screen etc. to keep it awake so the app update could complete.
If you are not near your computer, you're hosed. Your best bet is to press sleep home and just as the phone goes to reboot let go the buttons and let it turn off.
If you are near your computer use the connection process documented in the previous post (reboot, continue to hold the home button, connect iPhone to computer wait for usb cable picture to appear on iphone screen and begin the restore process)
I hope they fix this soon. This is very un-Apple.

How do you export messages from Ovi Suite?

As the title says, how do you export messages from Ovi Suite?
I know how to export messages from Nokia PC Suite, but it doesn't seem to be possible in the new Nokia Ovi Suite.
Here is how I would do it in the Nokia PC Suite.
1. I click the Messages icon to open Nokia Communication Center.
2. I click on the Messages option on the left pane to view only messages.
3. In the main window I mark the messages I want to export.
4. Then I go to File menu and chose Export.
5. Choose destination folder and I'm all set to export my messages from my Nokia.
I can chose between the formats CSV and VMG (vMessage) for export. If more than one message is marked only the CSV format is available. But what you can do to export several messages in the VMG format is to mark them all in the main window and press CTRL+C or right click and chose Copy to copy them all to RAM memory. Then all you have to do is create an empty folder on the desktop and paste them in there by pressing CTRL+V or right clicking and chosing Paste.
That's all there is to it, using Nokia PC Suite. So how do you do this in Nokia Ovi Suite? You don't, right?
And this **bleep** Ovi Suite is supposed to replace PC Suite?
Thank God I won't be needing neither of them much longer. I am switching to Android and HTC. Good luck with Ovi, the Ovi Player, the Ovi Suite, the PC Suite, the Symbian, the S60, the Symbian^1 (S60 5th edition), the Symbian^3, the Symbian^4 and what not.

I believe OVI took a step in the right direction with this option. I also believe it was made available due to the fact that OVI Suite cannot take a huge number of messages altogether. This option was made available so that the messages could be backed up.
However, I'd like to suggest the following, if possible.
1. Make Nokia OVI Suite be able to handle a huge number of messages.
2. Have the option to export only selected messages.

I am getting a message from OVI Nokia App everyday at 130am How do I turn it off? It's driving me crazy. It seems to be an internally generated message as I cannot respond to stop it or anything. It says "Cool app on Nokia's Ovi Store" and has a different app everyday. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Some content items in Ovi Store have been sending out unwanted sms messages. So far seems like they are all from the publisher ‘CareMe’. The applications have a function that simulates a SMS being sent to the consumer. Many of these applications are actually “hidden” from the applications menu. Therefore to remove the “sms” and the application, please delete the application from the “installed applications” menu.
The SMS “feature” is now removed from updated versions of CareMe applications available at Ovi Store so if you still want to use those applications, please re-download the affected application(s) from Ovi Store.
If you notice some other than CareMe application sending SMS, please let us know preferably via Report abuse feature available at Ovi Store.

Recover SMS Messages from Ovi Suite

Hi,
My memory card got corrupted and have lost all my SMS messages on my phone, but luckily I had synced my phone with Ovi Suite and I am able to see all my messages.
Is it possible to get move all these messages back to my phone, I am not syncing my phone currently as I fear that during the sync I may loose out all my messages.

I am using C7. With new version of nokia ovi suite (3.0.0.284) syncing is possible from device to ovi suite and not vice-versa.
with your advice I cld able to drag down the msgs. But in ovi suite, device shows sms under the respective heads say Inbox, Sent items etc. which is not the case with msgs stored in ovi suite. It shows clubs all the msgs.
I ve lot of sms, If I drag msg one by one it will take lot of time.
Is there any option by which I can drag down msg in one go for Inbox and then for sent msgs……… Pls advice asap. rgds

Manual Copying of Messages from OVI

Hi,
I am using OVI suite 3.1.1.90. and NOKIA E6
I am annoyed by copying each and every message induvidual message from the OVI suite.
My conversations have grown big and just wanted to know is there any way of copying the whole conversation from a single person to a word/text file? or is there any specific file or file location in windows where ovi saves these conversations?

Well, there are many possible ways to interpret "text message". SMS is one. MMS is another. And those are the two "standard" text messaging things, which are part of your voice-level services (as opposed to your data level and BB-proprietary level services). Make sure that the version of MagicBerry you are using is compatible with the version of the Desktop Software you used to create the backup file you are trying to parse.

Many users have this problem.. as reported on this forum.. but no certain solution.. You may goto http://store.ovi.com/ from your phone browser and directly select 'DOWNLOAD' to download an application..

Message notification ovi suite

I used to get a pop up from Ovi suite incoming message, some reasons i dont now. How can i get that feature back thanks, anyone else have this issue??. I looked in settings but not sure what the notificaiton means in there to tick or untick if it makes any difference thanks.

SMS messaging with Ovi after PR1.3?

Hello!
Some people claim Ovi messaging is working with N900 after PR1.3.
I saw some screenshots but my N900 still refuse to work.
Previous error was that device is not supported, now I get this:
USB cable connected, phone in PC suite mode, contacts, photos & music are working as before.
So, myth or truth?

I actually don't understand what you mean with that. Have PCSuite installed, but it's not runningonly Ovi. And I'm logged into my Ovi account.
I experience same behaviour on laptop and workstation. Both have W7 x64, Ovi is latest 2.2.1.23.
OTOH, do you suggest to uninstall PCSuite and keep only Ovi?
@blwetorch: my N900 has global FW and was updated through Ovi.

Mixed message threads ovi suite

When using ovi suite, messaging function. I view messages in the threaded form. But often for a contact the messages displayed are for them and other contacts with similar names, such as same surname. Obviously I only want to view the thread with that one person, not other people as well mixed in.
How can I fix this?

Pls do chck the First Name & Last Name displays on ur phone and make sure that if u hav similar Last Names/Sur Names, do some little change in respective fields n chck, like giving a space in Last Name/Surname etc.,
Try above for a single contact and if it resolves, then u can do for rest of ur contacts BUT on your own risk only

C3 - trimming messages in Ovi Mail

My emails are getting a bit too numerous, bearing in mind the limited memory on the C3. Up to over 300 now. As i like to keep them on the server is there a way (hopefully in an automated fashion) of trimming them down to size (like a 'keep last 5 days messages' option)?

It would depend as well on what email app you are using. Are you using the default Messaging app or did you use the Nokia Messaging/Email app?

Blue Screen Of Death after installing Ovi/PC Suite...

Problem: BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) occurs constantly.
I think the problem is the phone drivers (via cable). The program itself shouldn't be it.
I made a system recovery, which worked. And my computer was restored. But when I tried once again the same problem occurred.
So my question is: How can I use the phone with the computer without getting the BSOD?

I hope someone out there knows the answer to this question.
I downloaded this album off the UK store on release.
The included booklet consists of two pages, cover and back with little or no information.
Has anyone else got this album?
If so how many pages does your booklet have?
Normally I expect lyrics, pictures, artwork, credits e.t.c.
This one is dreadful, not a patch on the retail version.

There's a sticky at the top of this forum with some useful information which might solve your problem.
You have to close iTunes, open QuickTime system prefs, go to "advanced", and check "play flash".
At least, that solved my booklet problem.

Bootcamp 2.1 updater = kiss of death to Vista32

Everything was running well with a Vista32 Premium install I did yesterday until I ran the Bootcamp 2.1 updater. Ethernet then stopped working, sound became unstable, and the CPU would stay pegged at 100%
As a result, the laptop felt like it was going to burst into flames.
I've wiped it and will start from scratch again today.
Anyone else see this weirdness?
