I hate the new KitKat upgrade. I hate the messaging white background. I hate the loss of the green blinking light in the left upper corner. I do not know why music plays whenever I get an email. I get hundreds of emails to my device and it plays music and is driving me crazy. How do I disable this? I went through all my settings and cannot find where this may be set. It's a bust if you ask me for the Android system. Booooo

Although we work closely with manufacturers and OS developers, we don't produce the devices, operating systems or updates. I want to help you fix the email issue. What make and model device is this? What type of music are you referring to? What type of emails are these? Are there attachments in them?

If the two files do not have the same dimension you can adjust them via the Movie Properties window.
When you add two files that don't have the same dimensions the default position for the added file is 0,0 (upper left corner).
Open the Movie Properties window, single click on the video track you wish to adjust and then click the Visual Settings tab.
You can then adjust the dimensions (to fit the other track) or the "offset" values to position it (inside or outside of the dimensions of the other track).

[Solved] Dropbox autostarts, I can't find how to disable it.

So I installed dropbox a while ago, but am not using it anymore.
A week ago, I started the dropbox daemon (typing 'dropbox' in the shell) to sync something - I only needed to start it this one time.
Since then, dropbox starts with every boot. I can't find out how to disable it. I tried these two commands:
systemctl status dropbox
systemctl status dropboxd
Both services don't exist. I don't know how to proceed from here, does anyone know what to do now?

The systemctl-analyze command wasn't found. The second command returned nothing.

File History split 1 gig file in to 5 200 meg files, and I can't find how to restore this file

I setup file restore on a Windows 8 computer.
Backed up all the files to a NAS.
Wiped and reloaded 8.1 pro and did a file restore.
All of my files, except one large file, restored.
The file that didn't was a 1 gig TrueCrypt (VeraCrypt) file in the root of "documents".
When I browse out to my NAS, I see 5 files.
One of them is named: TCvol (2014_12_09 02_17_05 UTC) and it is 200 megs.
I believe these 5 files need to combine themselves again to restore my original 1 gig file, but I cannot find any documentation.
Pretty much everything shows that you open file history restore and your data should appear there.

It should be caused that Windows Server Backup cannot recognize the encrypted file - I cannot confirm how the third party application (TrueCrypt) work, it seems that it will split an encrypted file into several files and Windows Server Backup only restored
files physically. You can contact TrueCrypt support about this issue.

Do you see that extension in Firefox > Add-ons > Extensions ?
Click the orange Firefox button and click Add-ons in the right column to open the Add-ons page in a Firefox tab.<br />

Look for the "Default FullZoom Level" extension and click the Options button to see the settings of that extension and change the setting to your liking or leave them at the default.

I can't find how to disable the "saved downloaded picture" notification.

I saved downloaded photos from Google and other sources. The little audio signature that accompanies the"save picture as" is driving me nuts. Is this a feature of Firefox and if so, how can I disable it?

Open about:config and search for the entry downbar.function.soundOnComplete . Change the value from 1 to 0 and then restart FF. That should take care of it for you.

After last icloud backup, unrequested by me public holidays in the UK have been marked on the calendar and I can't find how to delete this. Also, I have been trying to delete a birthday from the same calendar for months and it keeps reappearing.

Are you also restoring from your backup? That sounds like what is happening or someone else has your Apple ID.
A backup to iCloud would have no way to add UK holidays to your calendar. Open Calendar, tap on Calendars at the bottom middle of the page and untick the ones you don't want.

Since updating to Maverick, my screensaver does not show my iPhotos anymore and I can not find how to reset this.

You need to upgrade to the latest 64 bit Mavericks optimized, compatible version of iPhoto.
Older versions of iPhoto will no longer work under OS X Mavericks.
What will happen is that the new iPhoto library will be updated to work the new version of iPhoto an Mavericks and the updated iPhoto library will no longer be accessible to older versions of iPhoto or older versions of OS X.
If you want to be able to access the current configuration of your Libary with older version of iPhoto an older versions of OS X, then you need to create a copy of the IPhoto lIbrary and move this copy to another location
You can save the duplicate iPhoto Library anywhere on your Mac's internal hard drive.
I created a new folder in my Home folder/directory called My Photos and stored the duplicate iPhoto library there along with other images I didn't want to be in iPhoto.
As long as the copy of the iPhoto library is made before you let the new version of iPhoto convert it, it will still be intact for older versions of iPhoto and OS X to access at some future date, if needed.

The title speaks for itself. It's the school computer and I don't want it to save every student's username and password.

You can't disable it. I assume that you want to know which student is using the network at any given time. You would need a more advanced server-side solution for that, such as a captive portal.

I am about to give scripting a shot but seriously it looks way to confusing compared to stories, I have several sub menus and in each sub menu I have a play all story, however what I also want to do is create a PLAY ALL from the main menu, any suggestions

Duplicate all your stories, have a menu item with duplicate story 1 as the target, and set the end jump of duplicate story 1 to duplicate story 2, etc. Shouldn't that work? There may be a simpler way, but
As far as adding documents, The simplest way is to build in dvdsp and then add a folder containing the docs to the project folder that dvdsp has created and use toast to burn it. There may be a rule for naming this folder, but can't remember it at the moment.
